S.O.S-Ch. 1
Felicia sat at a table with the mayor and some of his cronies. She was ready to jump up and bust a cap in Magowan's ass. This speech was really boring the hell out of her. She figured that a politician could at least try a deliver a short speech. This is supposed to be a party for god's sake. She saw that a conductor and a big band was set up to the right of the stage. Felicia assessed Widowia Magowan's looks and found that she was pleasing to the eye. Magowan had light blue skin with red hair and piercing gray eyes. Her body was slim and athletic, attired in a simple white dress. It was almost too bad that she had to kill her. However, money rules everything and she did not want to be kicked out of her home. While the place was old, it was her home. The apartment was the first stable home she had had in a long time. In her line of work, you always had to keep moving.
Felicia's thoughts turned toward the decoration of the room. She had to admit that the ballroom was decorated very well. The lights were set up like a romantic interlude. Gold and white streamers lined the walls. Oak tables gleamed from the vigorous dusting they received. A huge buffet was sitting off to the side, ready to be consumed. Felicia sighed unhappily.
Mayor Jonathan Howell the III looked at Felicia and asked, "Is there something wrong, baby?"
Felicia groaned inwardly and put a fake smile on her face. Felicia answered, "No, Big Daddy. I'm fine." Jonathan nodded and went back to listening to Magowan. Felicia thought that the good mayor was an ugly bastard. He looked like a human walrus with a portly build and a real annoying gray handlebar mustache. Jonathan was attired in a white tuxedo that made Felicia think that he was a waiter for the evening instead of the mayor of the city.
Widowia finished the speech and the audience stood and clapped as one. Mayor Howell stepped up to the stage and shook Ms. Magowan's hand. The mayor said happily, "I'm glad that our fair city will be trading with Prime Minister Magowan's planet for the next 30 years. I want everyone to enjoy themselves at this party. There is a buffet to your right and the dance floor is ready to be burned. Maestro, hit the music." Upbeat music started to filter through the air as the audience dispersed to eat and dance.
Felicia walked over to get some chicken, collard greens, and ham from the buffet. She was hungry from listening to such a long speech. She wondered how hard it was to thank the city and leave it at that. The godforsaken women had to praise the planet, her own planet, and all of her relatives spread throughout the cosmos. It was just going to make it more satisfying when she stabbed her in the neck with her small knife.
Felicia sat back down at her table and thought about the security at this function. She was surprised at just how easy it was to get by the security. When they were going to search her along with the mayor and his friends, the mayor gruffly told them not to search her. Apparently being the mayor's sugar daddy definitely had some benefits. Then again, it was going to cost him when she killed Magowan later in the night. Felicia ate her food and watched as Magowan and the mayor talked in a corner of the room. Felicia smirked as she saw the security guards hover around the politicians. They were not doing a very good job of being conspicuous. Sure, they were in black penguin suits but they stuck too close to the politicians. Felicia figured that her best shot would be to kill Magowan when she went into the bathroom. There was no way that the guards would follow her in there. Felicia smiled to herself as she started thinking about how the money she spent would be earned. 10,000 credits would pay the rent for a couple of months. 50,000 credits would probably be used for food. An undetermined portion would go into her bank account and the rest would be spent on ammo, videos, and other frivolous things. A tap on her shoulder broke her out of her thoughts. Felicia turned around and saw a young woman look at her.
The woman smiled and said, "You look happy?"
Felicia snapped, "Yeah, what's it to you!"
The woman said, "Hey, just trying to make conversation with the infamous paramour of our fine mayor."
Felicia looked closely at the woman. She had a nice, toned figure with long red hair, tanned skin and good fashion sense with a red sequined dress and matching high heels. Felicia figured that she was about 5"9 or so. The best feature on her was those amber eyes. This woman definitely appealed to her.
Felicia asked, "What's your name?"
The woman smiled and replied, "Oh, my name is Jade."
"Beautiful name."
"Yes, it is, Miss Morgan."
Felicia said in a low voice, "What are you saying? I'm Della Optiwan."
Jade smirked and said, "I think we both know what I'm saying."
Felicia growled, "How did you know?"
Jade smiled, "Doc is fine and upstanding individual. I know he told you to kill the prime minister because I'm a friend of his."
Felicia hissed, "No way. He doesn't have any friends other than me and that's stretching it."
"Okay, I'm a business associate of his. But I like to think of him as a friend."
Felicia snorted, "Uh huh. So what is the point of this whole conversation?"
Jade answered, "Simple, I'll give you more money to leave Optiwan alone. I have another proposition for you."
Felicia asked, "How do I know that you're on the level?"
"You don't. But I can prove that I have enough money for you, if you'll follow me out of the party."
"Follow you where?"
"To my hotel room across the street. I'll tell you more about what you're going to do for me."
Felicia smirked and said, "I didn't know you swung that way."
Jade smiled, "A dirty mind. I like that. To answer your innuendo, I can do things you've never dreamed of."
Felicia's thoughts were that Jade was a cool customer. There was a great risk to just go with someone that she did not know. For all that she knew, this could be a trap of some sort. However, her gut feeling was telling her that Jade was not lying to her. Either way, this was definitely going to be more interesting than the party.
Felicia said, "I'll bite. How am I supposed to explain my absence?"
Jade replied, "I'll take care of that. The great mayor is so stupid that he won't miss you."
"That's true. It makes me wonder how he got into power in the first place."
"Simple, by being more ruthless than anyone else."
Felicia shrugged, "Just like any other politician."
"Exactly." Jade walked away from Felicia and went over to the mayor and his cronies. Mayor Howell was well into his cups at this point. Jade told him that Felicia had to leave with her on an emergency and the mayor bought the excuse. If the mayor were more sober, he probably would have asked what the emergency was and tried to help his concubine. However, about six glasses of rum and coke impaired his brain. A couple of minutes later, the two women walked out of the party.
The duo got into the elevator and went down to the bottom floor. The elevator took them to the lobby. Felicia and Jade walked out of the hotel and stood outside, waiting for an opportunity to cross the street.
Felicia said, "Okay, who are you really?"
Jade smiled and said, "I'm whoever you want to be. I'll answer all your questions once we get to my hotel room."
Felicia said, "Fine, but you try something it's your ass."
"I'd expect nothing less from you, Felicia." The two women crossed the street and went into the hotel.
The two women took an elevator upstairs to Jade's penthouse suite on the 5th floor. Jade opened the door and let Felicia walk in first. Jade stepped behind her and closed the door.
Felicia's eyes widened at the splendor of the suite. Two leather couches were sitting in the living room with a big video screen a couple of feet away. The curtains to the windows were made of the finest silk and the kitchen was top notch with a huge bar and a stocked refrigerator.
Jade went over to the bar and asked, "Would you like something to drink?"
Felicia replied, "Nope, just tell me what's up."
Jade took out a glass and poured herself a glass of red wine. Jade went over to a couch and sat down. Felicia sat down in front of her.
Jade said, "Now, I'm sure you have lots of questions, so ask away."
Felicia said, "Who are you?"
Jade smiled and said, "My name really is Jade. No last name. I'm a assassin in the employ of King Donovan of Coca."
Felicia said, "Is that right? Prove it."
Jade walked out of the room to her bedroom and pulled out a small, circular device. Jade pressed the button and Felicia saw the royal crest of the Coca planet (red and black background with two muscular parrot-like creatures in the front with short swords in their hands) with her name and occupation under the crest.
Felicia saw that she was on the level "Okay, so why have you apparently taken such a keen interest in me? "
Jade smiled, "Because you're the greatest bounty hunter/assassin in the world."
Felicia replied, "Well, I'm not really the best. My partner Alexandria Pratt was really the best in the world. Nevertheless, why do you need my help? Coca assassins are the best group in the world. Hell, I had to kill some of your compatriots often enough to some of my jobs."
Jade said, "I know, the King remembers very well how many assassins you and Alexandria killed over the years."
Felicia responded, "If you're here to kill me about all of those deaths, it wasn't anything personal."
Jade laughed, "No, I'm not here for that. I'm here for another reason."
"Which is?"
Jade said, "The reason is for me and a partner of my choosing to kill this man." Jade pressed the button on the holograph device.
Felicia's eyes widened as she saw the man. Felicia said in a mixture of disbelief and apprehension, "You and I are supposed to kill HIM!"
Jade responded wearily, "That's right, we're supposed to kill the man they call The Dark One." Felicia looked at the image, seeing the 6"10 inch man with flowing black hair, all black wardrobe, violet eyes and a muscular build. Felicia was not scared of too much in her life, but from what she had heard about the Dark One, it was not pretty. The man was a destroyer of worlds, men, animals, children, and anything else.
Felicia said, "Why the hell do you need me for this?"
"Because no one else has been able to stop this guy. You do not know this, but King Donovan is in an alliance with about 7 major world leaders in the Tropi solar system. They have tried everything possible to take the person out. The Tropi universe has been under constant warfare for centuries now. For the past couple of years, everything has been relatively peaceful."
Felicia had a thoughtful look on her face as she asked, "Is that why you didn't want me to kill the prime minister?"
Jade smiled and replied, "Yes, if you would've killed her the fragile balance between the planets would've been shot to hell."
Felicia shrugged, "I'm not exactly an altruistic person. Besides, I have heard the stories about this person. What makes you think I can take him down?"
"You and I are going to take him down, Felicia. You don't know what I can do."
"So what?"
"So this, the King is offering 2 million credits between us to kill him. With the way you live, you could live off the million credits for years. I am going to be frank with you here. If we do not do this, The Dark One will eventually destroy the whole universe. Ergo, no more living for you, me, Doc, and anyone else we care about."
Felicia thought about this proposition. A million credits would definitely be her biggest payment to date. Besides that, Jade seemed to be a decent customer, overall. She had a feeling that she could definitely have some fun with her. However, what clinched it for her was the end of the universe bit. It would definitely suck if that happened. It was time to do some major stuff now. Of course, her hardcore reputation could take a few hits by fighting for a good cause. Felicia then thought that killing The Dark One would definitely be a feather in her cap since she was going to save the universe for all of her twisted deviant friends in the cosmos.
Felicia said, "Okay, I accept." Jade grinned, but Felicia put up a finger. Jade asked, "What is it?"
"I'm going to set some simple ground rules. One, do not disrespect the memory of my partner Alexandria. Two, no excessive commentary on my drinking. Finally, I want you to trust me no matter how crazy my plans are. Are we clear?"
Jade answered, "Yes, we are."
Felicia responded, "Good, so now what?"
Jade said, "Well, you can stay here for the night and we leave here tomorrow morning."
Felicia smiled and said, "How are we going to pass the time?"
Jade leaned over to Felicia and lightly kissed her on the lips. Jade whispered, "I know plenty of ways that we can pass the time." Felicia moved to kiss Jade, but Jade backed away and laughed softly. Jade smirked and said, "Not tonight, sweetheart. We need to know each other more."
Felicia growled slightly, "Quite the tease, aren't you?"
Jade's amber eyes twinkled as she replied, "Of course, that way it will be a lot better when we do join together."
Felicia hissed and said; "Don't play with me too long. Since you've done your research, you have to know I need to be satisfied quickly."
Jade just grinned and walked out of the room to her bedroom. Felicia sighed and turned on the video screen, thinking that Jade was probably going to be the death of her. It had been a while since she had been attracted to someone. However, Jade was jumping into that category quickly with her mix of intelligence and brashness. Jade reminded her of a bit of herself, only with more tact. After an hour or two, Felicia fell asleep while watching the late sports news show.
Jade walked into the room and saw Felicia curled up on the couch like a cat. Jade smiled and went over to Felicia with a blanket in hand. Jade smoothed back the black mane of hair and put a blanket over Felicia. Jade took the remote from Felicia's hand and turned off the vid screen. Jade looked down at her partner with a fierce attraction. She had heard about the exploits of Felicia and Alexandria throughout the cosmos. Those two always had many big adventures in their time. However, working for King Donovan was not exactly fun anymore. Basically, her and her associates' main job was to protect the King but no one even remotely tried to kill him anymore. Hell, they were not even sent out on freelance missions anymore. The Coca Crew was now nothing more than over-glorified bodyguards who sat around and gossiped every day. She was actually somewhat glad that this threat came about so she could actually do something.
Jade moved away from Felicia and went to get a late night drink of kilm. A glass of kilm always hit the spot for her. Jade drunk the liquid and went into her room to get some sleep. She had a feeling that her dreams would be about her partner. Jade went to sleep in her bed, dreaming of Felicia and new danger.
A persistent knocking awoke Felicia the next morning. Felicia grumbled and growled at the door, "Who the hell is this!"
Doc's voice came back at her, saying, "Hey, woman. You and Jade better do some explaining."
Felicia sighed and opened the door. Doc's face was twisted in anger as he stalked into the room. Felicia remarked, "Man, who peed in your breakfast this morning?"
Doc turned around and said, "You did. You did not kill off the prime minister. Why?"
Felicia said, "I got a better offer from Jade. Besides, how the hell did you find me anyway?"
Doc smirked, "The doorman told me you two went here last night. It wasn't too hard to ask the desk clerk what room Jade was staying in."
"Good job. To answer your question, I got a better offer from Jade."
Doc growled, "C'mon, she can't pay more than me."
Felicia responded, "Look at this place. Do you think that chump change I was getting from you would come close to paying for this."
"No, but still I just can't see how she can pay you more than me. She can't be making that much as an assassin for Donovan."
Felicia shrugged, "Have you ever thought that the King is giving her a big money increase to help pay for this operation?"
"That's possible."
"Damn right it is."
Jade yawned and stepped into the living room. Jade smirked and said, "Hello, Doc. Looking dapper as always."
Doc smiled at her "compliment" and looked at his rumpled white t-shirt/khakis combination. Doc replied, "Thank you, Jade. Felicia here was telling me about a better job offer."
"Yep, she and I are going to leave here and go off to kill The Dark One."
Doc looked at the two with horror and said, "Are you two broads that crazy?"
Felicia shrugged, "For what I'm being paid, I think a miracle can be created."
Jade chimed in, "That's correct, the pay I'll receive will be damn good. But I'm just glad to finally be doing something meaningful."
Doc shook his head and remarked, "Meaningful, huh? The only meaning you two will have is another notch in that guy's belt."
Felicia said, "I know about the stories, but to be honest I was getting kind of tired of not doing big jobs. I mean, killing off The Dark One will forever cement my image as one of the greatest all-around badass of all time."
Doc remarked, "At what cost? Many have tried to take him out, but few have even come close."
Felicia snarled, "Shut up! I'm doing this and nothing is going to stop me."
Doc snidely asked, "Did Jade use her womanly wiles to get you to do this job?"
Jade grinned and answered, "No, although Felicia wants some of my womanly wiles."
Doc replied, "And women always say men think with their penises. Hell, Felicia your vagina somehow messed up your brain, didn't it?
Felicia slapped Doc in the face and growled, "I won't take that from you." Felicia picked Doc up and threw him against a wall. Doc grimaced in pain as Felicia kicked him in the ribs. Doc slumped down to the floor as Felicia kicked him in the ribs again. Felicia went for another kick, but Jade cried out, "That's enough!" Felicia glared at Doc and stopped kicking him.
Doc hissed in pain, then got up off the floor slowly and asked, "How much is she paying you?"
Felicia answered, "Actually, King Donovan is paying us 2 million credits to kill The Dark One. Of course, we'll split the reward so I get 1 million credits."
Doc said, "Nice payday if you can do it. One thing though."
Felicia looked at Doc and replied, "What's that?"
Doc smirked and answered, "You're going to take me on this little adventure."
Jade chimed in, "Now why would we do that?"
Doc said, "Because Felicia owes me since she didn't kill Magowan."
Felicia responded hotly, "I don't owe you jack shit, you troll."
Doc snarled, "Like hell you don't. You cost me a lot of money by not killing her. More important than that, Magrane isn't too please that Magowan isn't dead."
"So?"
"So, Magrane will be looking to kill me and you since you didn't kill Magowan. I'm pretty sure he's got his minions following me right now."
Jade groaned, "That's just great. Did you at try and lose them?"
Doc looked at Jade with a hurt expression and responded, "C'mon, you know me better than that. I lost them for now, but that won't last." Doc looked at Felicia and said, "You know, we wouldn't be in this mess if you would've done the damn job."
Felicia cried out angrily, "Shut the hell up! In my place, you would have done the same thing. What's done is done now."
Jade said, "You're right, this stupid planet only has one launching station to get the hell out of her."
Doc chimed in, "So we can pretty much expect them to be waiting on us at the station."
Felicia stated, "Right, so the only thing we can do is beat down the opposition in our way."
Jade's face turned into a mask of determination as she said, "Alright, we don't have much time. We have to take Doc along with us."
Felicia said, "Why?"
Jade said, "Simply put, I don't want him to die. However, he can be useful in finding information about The Dark One. Basically, he'll do what he was doing for you."
Felicia looked at Doc and said, "Okay, you're going along with us. Just don't expect any money from me."
Doc's eyes widened as he sputtered, "Woman, you're giving me a cut of that money."
Felicia said, "Do you want a bigger ass kicking?"
Doc smiled and responded, "You're not woman enough to totally kick my ass."
Felicia's eyes widened in shock as she went over to smack around Doc. Jade held her back and said; "You two can discuss this later. We have to get out of here."
Felicia snarled, "Fine."
Jade said, "Okay, I've got a hovercar in the parking garage. We will go to your houses and pick up your stuff. Then we go to the launching station. I have a spaceship there."
Doc said, "Sounds good to me."
"Good, let's go." An hour later, Jade was packed up and the trio walked out of the hotel. The drive to Felicia and Doc's abodes were not eventful. The proprietor for Felicia's apartment was glad to see her go. Both got their clothes, weaponry, and other items and drove off to the launching station. A couple of hours later, the trio arrived at the launching station.
Jade, wearing a slinky black dress and shades stepped out of the hovercar. Felicia, also in sunglasses stepped out with a black tank top and blue jeans. Doc stepped out of the car without shades. (A/N I know this is supposed to be in the future, but I have a pretty good feeling that shades will still be around, ;) ) The trio got their stuff, walked away from the car and stepped inside the launching station. The launching station looked like an old 20th century airport from the outside with various vehicles in a parking lot in front of a concrete building.
Jade led the two through the throngs of people to the executive hangar that held special spaceships like trading ships or cruising ships. Ships were flying in the air and doors that led to outer space were in front of the ships. Jade saw her ship (a medium-sized white, triangular ship with red and black streaks on the sides of the ship) 30 feet in front of them. Felicia, who was behind Jade remarked, "I'm shocked. We haven't run into any resistance." Doc grumbled, "Now it's guaranteed something is going to happen." The trio walked closer to the ship when a big group of men (20 or more) in black two piece suits sprang out from the ground in front of the group.
Doc sighed and said, "I hate being right."
Felicia said, "Whatever."
Jade just smiled and charged into the fray.
The men tried to swarm Jade, Doc, and Felicia. However, Jade quickly cleared out a fair amount of the enemy with one of her special techniques. Jade yelled, "COCA CRASH!" A ball of energy appeared in her hand and exploded in front of the enemies. A bunch of men flew back from that attack. Doc used his small stature to his advantage, dodging blows from his bigger opponents and knocking them down to his level by taking out their legs with vicious kicks. Felicia overpowered her opponents with her brute strength. Eventually, a pile of strewn bodies was lying on the ground.
Jade, hair mussed but otherwise healthy smiled and said cheerfully, "That was fun."
Doc, holding a hand on a bump he got during the fight grumbled, "Yeah, that was real fun."
Felicia, with her ribs in some pain, chimed in, "Apparently, you don't have enough to do on Coca do you, Jade?"
Jade shrugged and said, "Nope." The trio stepped over the bodies and stepped into the ship.
Felicia said, "This is nice."
Doc whistled in appreciation. The two looked upon a big kitchen area to their right. To the left of the three were a large recreational room with a holodeck, video screen, and a table with various video papers.
Jade smiled and said, "Welcome aboard the Starship Arian. This baby can reach up to level 8 on the warp speed index. Past the rec room are about 3 bedrooms and the control room is past the bedrooms.
Felicia asked, "So where do you sleep?"
Jade smiled and said, "That was real transparent. I do have my own room, you know."
Felicia replied, "I know, but don't expect to be sleeping in your own room that much."
"Is that a fact?"
"It is."
Doc chimed in and said, "Just give me a copy of the video when you two do it."
Both women pounded Doc into the ground. Jade draped an arm around Felicia's shoulders and said, "I need to go to the control room. Would you like to go me?"
"I'd love to." The two women stepped over Doc and went to the control room. A couple of minutes later, the door in front of the Arian opened and the spaceship blasted off in space to parts unknown.
End Ch. 1
Well, I finally got back to this after getting the motivation to figure out what to do. I had a lot of ideas. One was that Jade was going to be an assassin from one of Radoniv's followers She was actually going to kill Magowan, Felicia would be pinned for it and in a exciting chase Felicia would've got back to her house to see Jade there. Felicia, pissed off that Jade took her job slaps her around like she did Doc in this chapter. Anyways, Jade gets her off and says that she had to needed her help to kill the guy that she was working for because the guy hurt her family. The reason Magowan had to die was to keep her cover up in the organization and the two went off to kill this guy. Another idea was that the King sent Jade off to get Felicia's help to capture a powerful artifact. This idea felt too much like Dangerous Dealings, so that got scrapped. A third idea was that Jade and Felicia were supposed to kill some influential people in opposition of the alliance King Donovan was in. Didn't like that one either.
Anyways, this Dark One thing will have a different twist than the stuff I've done before. Of course, I'm not going to tell you that since that wouldn't be fun. Again, this was a set-up thing, but I liked the interaction between all of my principal characters especially Jade and Felicia. Umm, the next chapter will have our heroes searching for The Dark One. I have no clue how that's going to go. Hell, I thought of the Dark One bit as I was sitting here typing. We'll see how it goes. Next on the agenda will probably be the next chapter to To The Next Level or GWWA.
I'm done and I wish you all
Peace, love, and hair grease
