Fan Fiction ❯ San ❯ 9 ( Chapter 9 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
San Ro and Tyia sat in a moonlit clearing pulling up plants by their roots and putting them into baskets. Tyia was unsure at first but soon she ran in circles around the girls picking plants at random and handing them to San excitedly. San took the plants from the child, inspected them, and put the edible ones in the basket and through the poisonous ones away when the child ran off for more. Tyia ran around the girls and ‘helped’ as small children do. Ro quit pulling plants and Tyia saw her not helping.

“San, Ro!” Tyia yelled shrilly. San looked up at Tyia as she shook her head no, pulled a plant out of the ground, pointed her little finger at Ro and stomped her foot on the mossy ground. San watched Tyia as she repeated the motions. San realized that Tyia was telling on Ro for not helping and smiled.

“It’s OK Tyia. Ro can take a break if she wants to.” San smiled at the young child as she frowned and came over to Ro and patted her on the head, her way of saying sorry. San smiled as Ro tickled Tyia down to the ground and laughed silently along with Tyia’s laughter. Tyia tired of the tickle game and escaped from Ro’s grasp. Tyia ran around Ro as Ro tried to grab hold of the child.

San filled her basket up and saw Ro’s was full too. San got up and pounced on the child snatching her up onto her shoulders. Tyia gasped then squealed with delight as Ro and San moved into the dense forest towards the hold.

San stood at the counter inside the kitchen sorting through the roots that the girls pulled the night before. Tyia was playing with an old doll Ro had found in a closet on the far side of the hold. San glanced over her shoulder when Tyia squealed and jumped up. Tyia ran to the man that had entered the room. Kuto laughed and picked up the small girl, tossing her into the air. Tyia giggled and Kuto placed her back on the floor.

“How’s the root inspection?” Kuto mocked. San stuck her tongue out at Kuto and laughed as Tyia emulated the expression. “You are good at copping aren’t you Tyia.” Kuto laughed. Tyia nodded and then giggled at his shocked expression.

“Careful there Kuto, she knows a lot more than she can say. She is very smart and learns fast.” Kuto smiled and nodded. San went back to sorting roots. Kuto moved closer and slid his arms around her waist. San smiled and laughed as Tyia pulled Kuto back.

“Kuto no! Tyia’s San!” Tyia yelled and hugged San. San bent down and hugged Tyia and laughed.

“No Tyia. San’s San. San hug Tyia, San hug Kuto. OK?” Tyia understood and nodded but still glared at Kuto.

“San’s San. No Kuto’s San!” Tyia laughed and went to her dolly. “Tyia’s Neata No San’s No Kuto’s. Tyia’s Neata Tyia hug Neata!” Tyia said giggling. Tyia hugged her dolly and looked at Kuto and San. “San No hug Neata, Kuto no hug Neata!” Tyia stuck her tongue out and ran out of the kitchen. Kuto laughed and hugged San again. San turned to embrace Kuto.
