“C'mon, Yuki! Just order whatever you want already. Remember it's my treat,” I sighed glaring at Yukihiro in a playful manner.

The waitress stood at our table waiting to take our order, yet Yuki had to take his time. I had ordered almost immediately and sat with my feet up on the bench of the booth we were in, stretched out and waiting. The waitress looked a little impatient and I hoped that Yuki would hurry up before we got thrown out for being too slow.

“I'll just take a Coke, please,” Yuki replied to the waitress with a slight smile on his face. I laughed inwardly as I recognized what he was trying to do.

“Okay that's a Coke for you and a chocolate milkshake for-” I realized what was coming next and I was getting ready to leap up and run away, “-wait! Aren't you Tetsu? And aren't you Yukihiro of L'Arc~en~Ciel?! Oh my god it is you!” At that me and Yuki darted out of our shared booth and ran out the door to avoid the swarm of fans that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

We were running for a while until I realized where we were. I grabbed Yuki's arm and told him to be quiet while I led him into a building. He looked around for a minute, not knowing what this place was, and then he seemed to understand and followed me up the flights of stairs. Finally on the seventh floor we reached a door labeled 710 and I pulled a pair of keys from my pocket immediately opening the door and running inside with Yuki behind me. He took a seat on my plush couch and I stepped into the kitchen to get a glass of water.

“Man that was some crazy shit wasn't it?” Yuki asked me from the living room.

I walked in to look at him and saw that he had a large smile plastered on his face. I knew that he had enjoyed the chase; it was his form of entertainment for the day besides playing drums with the band. Yuki was wearing a plain black t-shirt with a white button up shirt that had its sleeves cut off, although it looked like they were ripped more than cut, over it. With the shirt he was wearing a pair of dark, red leather pants. Yuki was also wearing a pair of black platform shoes (that he stole from me) and his light brown, that looked almost blond, longer than shoulder length hair was pushed back by a white sweat band that he was using like a headband. The only jewelry he wore was a small pendent on a chain that resembled a double “A” within a full circle. I was assuming that the pendent stood for his favorite band, Acid Android. His brown eyes had complete joy in them and I knew that I felt the same way after running from a lot of fans. I sat down in a matching plush chair and took another sip of water before I answered him.

“Yeah, that was some awesome stuff. Why'd you have to go and let her know who you were though? I was hoping to at least get my milkshake before I left,” I smiled before Yuki and I burst into hysterical laughter.

“So what was the deal with Ken and Hyde? I mean what were they doing?” Yukihiro asked becoming his usual, quiet self once again.

“Ken went over to Hyde's to work on some songs that they were going to let us see later. That's all I know. Hyde said that they would meet us later. I mean c'mon, it's Hyde, so you know it's going to be a mystery, whatever he's doing,” I shrugged my shoulders and took my glass out to the kitchen, placing it in the sink.

I headed back to the living room and heard a cool beat sound. There, sitting on the floor in front of my coffee table, was Yuki pounding a beat out on my table, his head into the rhythm. He didn't even notice that I had walked into the room. I walked silently to where I kept my bass guitar and picked it up, quietly plugging it into the amp and then let out a chord that almost matched Yuki's drum line. He looked up and he seemed surprised at how awesome that beat sounded. He was a percussionist genius at times. He started the beat again and I followed while thinking, this would be a lot easier to play if Hyde and Ken were here practicing with us.

We continued playing like that for about two hours. I heard my clock chime three and was startled out of the trance that music brought me to. Yuki looked at me and we both smiled, knowing that we were going to be ready for tonight. I sat down in my chair and put my feet up on the coffee table; Yuki stretched out on the couch laying his head on a pillow.

“Ken and Hyde have no idea what they're missing out on. That was a totally sweet session! Damn we should play that tonight!” He said, punching the air as if triumphant that he created a really good beat line that went well with a bass guitar.

“Speaking of them,” I said, “are we going to meet them for dinner or just invite them over and order something in?”

“Hmm,” Yuki sat up on the couch, closing his eyes, thinking, “We should order in and invite them over, so that way we can run that beat by them and see what they think. Who knows, Ken might be able to make it sound better than your lousy bass guitar.” I picked up a pillow that was sitting in the chair with me and hurled it at Yuki. We both started laughing almost immediately, especially when he dodged it and fell onto the floor.

“Are you okay?” I asked getting up from my seat to make sure there was no real damage done to our drummer. Yuki lay there laughing for a while before he answered.

“I'm fine, man! I just need a cigarette that's all,” He said laughing and got up from the floor checking his pockets for a cig. “Damn it,” I heard him hiss and knew from that tone that he didn't have any on him. He looked at me with pleading eyes and I shook my head. I was the only member of the band that didn't smoke. He sat back down on the couch and shrugged his shoulders as if to say he was stronger than the urge and looked around my apartment.

“I should really clean more often,” I grimaced at how dirty my apartment had become since I began playing with L'Arc~en~Ciel. “Hey, I know! Let's go over to Hyde's and hang out with him and Ken!”

Yuki agreed and I picked up my cell phone and dialed Hyde's number. There was an answer after about four rings and I noticed that it wasn't Hyde. It worried me a little that Hyde wasn't answering his own phone anymore.

“Who is this?” I asked.

“Man, Tetsu, you must be dense if you don't recognize your own band member. Baka, this is Ken,” He said and I started laughing.

“You don't sound like yourself. So where's Hyde?” I heard shuffling in the background and a new person came onto the phone.

“What's up, Tetsu?” He asked sounding sleepy.

“I was just wondering if Yuki and I could come over and hang out for a while.”
“Yeah, that's cool. Just come on over. The door will be unlocked and I'm sure either Ken or I will be awake,” He said and the line went dead and I hung up. Yuki and I grabbed our stuff and were off to Hyde's, which wasn't all that far from my apartment building.
