Chapter 16, (Cinsanati POV) City of the damned.

There he was, this was the end of our search, standing on the brink of the cliff, that lead down to a desert that spread as far as the eye could see. His mahogany hair blew across his sleek smile, his build reminded me of Max's but unlike Max he didn't show it off.

"Dragon." He laughed softly, "Come here old friend and let me see your face. It has been such a long time." Dragon stepped out of the bushes as he had been told to and approached Driane. The others slowly follow, but I decide to be cautious and stay back, to keep my presence well hidden. This wouldn't work I know, as he is a General and so he knew that I was there, no matter how hard I tried to hide it.

"Dragon…" Diane's hand reached up and touched his face gently. "Why Dragon?" he looked at dragon his face filled with sadness.

"Driane? What? What is wrong Driane?" Dragon looked confused, something was wrong, I had a bad feeling about this.

"Why, did you betray me? You have lead the ones who are our enemies to me. How could you?" Dragon didn't have a chance to answer, Driane changed in to the Golden Lion of his Clan. He brought his claw across Dragon's face, Dragon tried to dodge it but he was too slow. The power of the blow sent him sliding over the cliff edge. I bolt forward to help Dragon, I look down the vertical drop to see him clinging on.

"Just concentrate on getting off the cliff, with out killing yourself Dragon. I'll deal with Driane." I shout down at him.

"That's what I'm trying to do." He snarled at me, wow something was annoying him. I turn to face Driane down, he snarled viciously he meant business. I know I can do this, all I have to do is concentrate and not die. I breath in deeply, the air around me starts to get colder. The temperature around me continued to decrease rapidly and I breathe a small cloud mist. Driane looks curious for a moment and then laughs.

"You think a spell could defeat me, not only that but a spell from a cross breed." He smirks and charges at me. I close my eyes by this time, my skin had a tinge of blue covering it and ice was forming in my hair. I couldn't stop myself from shivering, The impact hit me from the side, surprising me, but I manage to twist round. I opened my eyes and released the coldness from my body. Driane jolted off of me and changed back in to human form, shivering from the cold blast. I managed to pulled myself up, I felt so weak and I was still really cold. I looked up at the sky it seamed grey and miserable, a white fleck passed before my eyes. I turned my gaze to Driane, who was clutching his chest with his hands, covered in ice burns. He opened his mouth he seamed to be saying something, but I couldn't hear him, I couldn't hear anything. He turned away and disappeared into the forest, my vision went blurred as I fell to my knees. Figures crowded around me, I must have been getting better because I no longer felt cold, I just wanted to sleep, and I felt so tired. I fell forward from my knees to the hard ground and closed my eyes. I felt my body suddenly lunge forward and my eyes flew open. I looked around trying to get some barring of where I was, I was standing on a street which was full of holes and the house were run down.

"Hey you're awake. You must have had a hell of a blow to your head when you died I swear that no one ever has been unconscious as long as you've been when they first come in." I span round to see a woman, with tangled hair and dirty wings. I must be hallucinating because I'm seeing angels. "Well you better get your arse in to the Lost building over there. Good luck." She pointed to a building across the street and took a swig from a bottle. I followed her direction and entered the lost building; I was greeted by the stench of stale alcohol. I shove the unconscious angel off the desk, who revives after hitting the hard floor.

"What the fuck?" the angel flexed his wings and rubbed his head with his grubby hand. "What's your name?" he walked over to the file cabinet.

"Cinsanati" I growled as he looked at me expectantly.

"Last name?" he inquired and gave a worried look when I shrugged. "Well I can try looking under just Cinsanati, but it's not very promising." He flicked through several draws and came back empty handed. "Sorry bad news I'm afraid. No name no entry no wings. But if you like I could take this to a higher level for you." The angel chewed his bottom lip and looked me up and down.

"Thanks, I would like that." I had a feeling that he normally wouldn't do that for anybody and that he was doing it especially for me.

"O.k. then follow me and I'll take you to the man in charge." He took me into a small room, which suddenly lurched upwards. I clung to a bar at the side of the room and the angel giggled at me. "I guess you don't have elevators for where you come from, don't worry your perfectly safe… at the moment." There was a large ping and the door opened, I got out of there as fast as I could and once again the angel giggled. "Wow your really high strung, I hope Sam thinks you're worth the paper work. I'd hate to see someone like you to be sent down to see MorningStar, though maybe there was a mistake as unlikely it might be, you may go to see Gabriel. His meant to be really hot, though I've never met him, the likes of him don't normally come down here and if they do they go to the Palace in the centre of the city of the damned, where the five main angels live. Sam's one of the five they were here at the start when the city was first created for those that were neither for Hell nor Heaven. They were sent to rule the city from heaven, that was before they became as corrupt as the city it's self. This city is just a bit better then hell at the moment, everyone's quite tense as they are threatening to cleanse this place from the filth and that the fires of hell will rise to burn the city down. Scary don't you think?" the angel babbled on as he lead me down a large corridor and lead me in to a large room with a glass wall so the occupants could see outside to the city below. There stood an angel, as beautiful as he was, it was beauty that had been twisted to a unique form for you could hardly tell if it was male or female. His lips were cerise and full, his body was slender and well toned. He wore eye shadow of ice blue and leather of the darkest black. His auburn hair fell playfully across his face and to finish it off his wings were deep midnight blue.

"Lore, what have you brought to me today?" His voice was smooth and seemed to echo round the room in a whisper.

"This is Cinsanati. He isn't listed, but I thought… well not many people come down here nowadays. So could we file him in?" Lore looked at Sam hopefully and waited for his answer.

"I doubt it." Sam watched Lore's face fall. "It would take a long time and I would have to fill in a lot of paperwork and have to see the big boss. Just kill him and be done with it, he can go to hell." Sam yawned and turned back to look out of the window. I shoved Lore out of the way and went for Sam, who spun around just in time to see my fist come in contact with his face. He stumbled backwards, blood trickling from his nose and clumsily went to punch me back. I managed to dodge out the way and knock the beautiful angel to the floor before wrapping my hands around his neck causing him to chock.

"Look I think that it would be in your best interests to fill in your paperwork and go see your friend to get me in to this city or your be the one going to hell not me. Understand?" I growl at him as he tries to wriggle out my grip.

"O.k. just let me up. You can have your chance, but I doubt it will be accepted, you will not be able to threaten Haleni like this you know." I released my grip from around his neck and he ran his fingers through my hair. "Now there's a good boy." I growled at his last remark.
