Chapter 17, (Cinsanati POV) Black eyed angel

I sat up sharply and rub my back, it was sore from the uncomfortable sleep I had had on Lore's Coach, in the Lost Building. He was in the position that I had first seen him, lolled out on his desk like a drunkard. The wings seemed out of place on him, especially in the state he was now, when he was awake they suited him better. His black hair splayed across his chest, which rose and fell gently with each breath. I decided against shoving the sleeping angel off the desk as I had done before, instead I shook him awake roughly.

"Huh? What's your name?" He muttered sleepily and shut his eyes to go back to sleep.

"Get up." I snarled as I heaved him off the desk, he fell on the floor with a thud.

"Would you quit doing that? It kinda hurts you know." He stretched slightly and yawned "Did you get a nice sleep?"

"No, I was uncomfortable and my back is now killing me." I glared at him as he smiles sheepishly back.

"Which is why I sleep on the desk, I did offer but you chose the coach." He sat on the seat at the desk and lent forward to rest his elbows on it.

"I thought you just did that because you were a drunken idiot. Do you ever not stink of a mix of rum and gin?" I smirk slightly as he frowned.

"I can't help it. I really do want to stop drinking, but it's just this place. It's horrible, you're lucky you're strong and smart. You don't know what it's like for people like me." He's eyes filled with tears and he bit his lip before grabbing a bottle of what looked like vodka. He took several large swigs from the bottle, slammed his head into the bureau and sobbed bitterly. "I was only fifteen when I came here, I think I'm seventeen now, but the days just seem to blur. Most of the people who come here are teenagers or people who have lost there way through no fault of their own. I hid in the shadows for most of my time down here I was too afraid of what would happen. I saw horrors from the shadows I guess I had lived quite a sheltered life. I wasn't prepared to come to this place half the people here should be in hell, as there was no one to put them back on the right track. Even though I hid sometimes people would find me and kick me and beat me and steal everything. But then I meet Sam, he was beautiful and elegant, he was everything I wasn't and he looked after me he took me under his wing. That's kinda ironic I guess, he gave this job as well it means that I don't have to set foot in the city, which is great." He sniffed and took another swig of vodka and swayed slightly. "God, you're beautiful too, just like Sam but more rugged." He got up and staggered to me, the alcohol was obviously having its toll. The black eyed angel looked up, directly into my eyes and sighed. "So beautiful…" Another tear fell from his eye and made its way across his cheek. "But your leave me like them all… take me with you, I don't care about the city anymore. I can't let the fear of it control me, can't just stay here all my time. Got to go sometime. I wanna see the place where the angels live. Not the angels here, the good ones, the ones that care for all and everyone. But I have to prove myself here and I ain't done nothing but hide, will you help me prove myself. You have to you're so smart and… and witty." The drunken angel leaned against me, in an effort to stay standing and took yet another swig of the clear liquid. His grip loosened and his sobbing stopped. His legs seamed to collapse underneath him, I caught him before he hit the ground and laid him on his desk. I felt guilty; I could honestly say that this was the guiltiest I had ever felt, how could I say that to him. I was such a jerk after all he had done for me, he had gotten me the chance to see Sam, and so I might have the chance to get in to the city. I owe Lore a lot, I turn my gaze to the sleeping angel, his lips were parted slightly and he was muttering in his sleep. The doors to the room he called Elevator swept open and Sam stepped out.

"Cinsanati, I'm glad to see you awake." He said sleekly, before he turned to Lore and stroked his face. "Cinsanati and me are going now Lore, I shall not be back for a bit." He whispered gently to him.

"What's your name?" Lore mutter in his sleep, Sam smiled at him and laid a kiss on his cheek. "Shall we go Cinsanati?" He stared at me with his alluring eyes. I followed him through a door at the side the office which led to another elevator, my stomach lurched at just the thought of going in it. Sam pushed a button beside the door and they swished open before he dragged me in side. I guess he had noticed the reactant look on my face, I hate these things they make me feel really weird in my stomach. The elevator lurched and this time went down, which was worse then going up.

"Think your-self lucky." Sam place his hand against the wall next to my head and leant forward on it. "I'm only doing this for Lore. He seams to like you I haven't got a clue why though." He turned and went to the other side of the elevator.

"Well, going by what he said to me when he was drunk, it could be because I'm beautiful, like you but more rugged." I smile as he spun round to stare directly at me.

"He… He said I was beautiful." He seamed to think about it and then smiled. "Was that near enough his direct words?"

"Yeah, along with elegant as well. I thought you would have known that he admired you. You're his idol, I guess. The way he talks about you it's as if you're the one who saved him from a horrible fate in the city and looked after him. But then again he said you were corrupt." I shrugged as a small smile played on his lips.

"Hmm… Corrupt? Yeah I suppose I am and I wouldn't have it any other way. Look at the beauty and elegance of corruption." He run his hands through his hair and smirked. "Well it's nice to know that I'm appreciated by Lore be for we all go to hell." The elevator let out a loud ping before the doors swung open to reveal yet another corridor. I once again pretty much jumped out of the elevator and Sam followed with a smile.

"Before we go in there…" He indicated to the door with a large number of latches, bolts and locks, "Stay close, don't get lost, don't look like a victim and try not to get beaten up. Also keep valuables in a safe place…" His gaze seamed to be distracted by flashing lights above the door to the elevator, he watch them with a frown. Suddenly they stopped and the doors opened to show Lore.

"Wait, I want to come with you." He rubbed his head and staggered out of the elevator. Still slightly out of it and looking really tired.

"Well I suppose you can come, but first before we go anywhere…" A smile crossed Sam's face, "Tell me just how beautiful you find me and elegant."

"You told him what I said?" He blushed and looked down at the floor. Sam approached him and took Lore's chin and forced him to look up at him.

"Now, don't be shy, I really want to know. I want to hear it from you." he was such an egomaniac, I have never known a guy to want hear compliments that much.
