Chapter 4------

Michael rushed through Ralmuci, trying to get to Jaeger as quickly as possible. He knew that the ruler would not be ready for word of battle, as he feared Lucifer would do. He could not understand why Lucifer would go against all of Ralmuci, for Lucifer was Jaeger’s most beloved angel, but he knew that those rebelling would be eager for the call to battle that would soon go out to catch them in its oceanic depths and currents.

Not quite paying attention while in the only, and grandest to ever exist, city at the time, he sped around a corner and ran into another angel. It took him a moment, but he quickly realized just who he had ran into, and forced himself to stop for an apology.

“Raphael, please, forgive me,” Michael said humbly to the angel whose name meant ‘one who heals.’ Raphael was very kind to everyone, and never did anything to harm another being. He had a kindness that was almost impossible to believe, but he was also very firm when he needed to be. He was an Arch-Angel, but he was still very young for an angel, barely five centuries (in more mundane terms) old.

Raphael’s hair was a platinum white, wispy, flowing and falling midway down his back. His skin was like pale alabaster, and pale blue lines, almost invisible, signifying where his veins were. He was not terribly tall, but graceful and delicate all the same. His wings were silver, and with the light of Ralmuci shinning on them made a soft glow around his entire personage. He was the younger ‘blood’ brother to Lucifer, but it was doubted his brother had ever swayed Raphael to those who were rebellious.

Raphael seemed slightly confused, but he smiled pleasantly all the same, and it was the sun had cresting over the hill, the soft mewing of a kitten, a gentle breeze whispering in the spring.

“Michael, it is a surprise to see you. Where are you off to in such a hurry, dear friend?” he asked with a voice filled with kindness and something else, something that reminded one of soft brown, dewy fawn’s eyes, innocence in its purest form. Michael was truly saddened that he could not stay, that Lucifer was going to battle with Jaeger and the heavenly army. Raphael would be terribly crushed, but would most likely stand very well in the upcoming fight, his tender heart lending strength to their forces.

“I must go meet with Jaeger on very important business, Raphael. I am truly sorry that I cannot stay and talk longer,” he finally replied reluctantly. The other angel looked truly saddened by this fact, for he very much enjoyed Michael’s company. Of course, he did not enjoy Michael’s company more than his Spirit Mate’s, Sasnigiel, the ‘angel of wisdom,’ but that could not be helped.

Raphael sighed. “Very well then. I shall see you later then,” he replied. Michael nodded and told him to stay well. Leaving, he hoped that he could still get to Jaeger in time.

Just as he reached the ruler of all of Ralmuci, Lucifer led his army to the heavenly city. For a moment there was nothing but silence, the feel of death awaiting its moment of reaping, before the torrent of darkness would break its gates.

Then the battle began.

Lovely, lovely posts and reviews are always welcome! And yes, I know that God (Jaeger in the story) is all-knowing, at least by most people's standards. This story, however, is my own personal idea of what happened when Lucifer and his angels fell, so please don't be too harsh about it.
