8: Corruption
“What are we praying for?” Beast boy asked.
Draco narrowed his eyes, “That Robin isn’t reborn as the Black Phoenix.”
“What is this ‘Black Phoenix?’” Starfire asked confused.
“Phoenix is the essence of Determination. If you’re determined to kill someone then it becomes a Sin. Robin had a deep hate for Slade when he died. If he hasn’t let that hate go then he may come back as the Black Phoenix and as a Sin.”
Robin’s body glowed golden and the beam of light his body. He was lifted and flipped. In the darkness Robin began focusing on Slade. When he opened his eyes he looked at himself. A black and gold aura surrounded his body. The aura faded and the light disappeared. Robin smiled evilly and slid down the side of the Pyramid.
When he reached the bottom he walked toward his friends. Black flames erupted around his body. He began walking through them destroying his costume. The flames slowly wrapped around his body and became a new outfit. It looked like his Red X outfit only there were red flames all over it.
“Robin! You are all right!” Starfire shouted with Joy.
“Sorry Starfire. I have something I have to do,” black and gold wings sprouted from Robin’s back.
Robin flew off into the night. Draco began growling.
“Damn it! That little bastard. When this is over remind me to beat the shit out of him,” Draco growled.
Red wings sprouted from Draco’s back, “Follow me. I’ll find out where he’s going.”
Everyone loaded into the T-sub and followed Draco who flew after Robin.
Slade’s attention was pulled toward one of his screens. On it he saw robin tearing through his Robots. Robin quickly reached Slade.
“Well Robin. It seems you’ve had a growth spurt,” Slade said bringing out his Bo Staff.
Robin just smiled. Slade and Robin began fighting. Slade was shocked at the fact that Robin was now much better in a matter of days ago. Too much better, Slade was beginning to fear Robin’s new power. From the Shadows three figures watched.
One smiled and hissed, “And so an Angel falls.”
Draco landed outside Slade’s hide out. The others landed and followed him. They found Robin and Slade fighting. Slade went down and robin smiled sinisterly. Everyone watched in horror as Robin brought his fist back.
“Robin!” Draco roared.
“What do you want Honor,” Robin snarled.
“Robin you can’t kill him,” Beast boy pleaded.
“And why not?” Robin glared.
“Because you’ll be a murderer,” Cyborg stated.
“If it’ll save this city then I’m willing to do it,” Robin answered.
Raven stepped forward, “If you kill him Robin then you’ll become just like him.”
Robin hesitated slightly, “So what.”
“Robin, if you’re willing to twist the power that was given to you then I will kill you,” Draco growled.
There was a deffinite change in Draco. Robin smiled and turned. Draco’s sword appeared in his hands. Draco rushed at Robin. Draco’s sword cut through the air and missed Robin. Robin kicked Draco sending him flying. Draco flipped and landed on his feet. Draco rushed at Robin again. This time robin kicked the sword away.
Draco smiled, “Well then let’s have some fun.”
Draco began throwing punch after punch. Everyone watched Starfire grimacing as each of Draco’s punches hit. Finally Draco brought his fist back and threw a punch aimed at Robin’s face. Robin’s hand went up in a flash and caught the punch. Robin smiled and twisted Draco’s arm so fast that there was a sickening crack. Everyone grimaced at what Robin had done. Robin back flipped kicking Draco in the chin. Draco went flying into a wall. Draco stood up and began walking back toward Robin.
“Whoa. Hold it. You’re in no condition to go at it with him again,” Cybrog said blocking Draco’s way.
Draco glared at him then sighed. Starfire watched this then looked back at Robin. Robin had a look of deep satisfaction on his face. Serpentarius appeared next to Robin along with Hydra and Leo.
“Very good Phoenix, now finish Slade off,” Serpentarius hissed.
“With pleasure,” Robin smiled.
Robin turned back to Slade. As he was about to kill him Starfire jumped in his way.
“Out of my way girl,” Robin growled.
“Please, come back to me Robin,” Starfire said.
She put her hands on Robins face and pulled him into a passionate kiss. When she let go of him, Robin fell to his knees and cried out in pain. He put his hands on his head and screamed.
“Damn it,” Hydra said.
Hydra grabbed his sickle and began swinging the weighted end. Draco grabbed the hilt of his sword and began walking toward Hydra.
“No,” Crow said putting his scythe in Draco’s way, “I’ll deal with Hate. Lupus can take care of Greed.”
Crow walked toward Serpentarius. Lupus smiled and aimed an arrow at Hydra. Tigris pulled out her grappling hook and began spinning it.
