Disclaimer: I don't own anybody in this story so far, everybody here is somebody from the real world (namely my school), I just changed their names to protect their privacy.
The only names that I have not changed are Brianna, Kathy, and Julia.
I also do not own Yami from Yu-Gi-Oh. I just felt like putting him in the authoress notes. It's so much more fun when I get to torture somebody!

Note: There's use of AIM in this chapter. I'm going to use their real names instead of their AIM usernames, because I don't feel like typing the same thing over and over... especially those longer and more complicated ones (*cough* Julia...)
No abbreviations will be used in the AIM part.

Brianna turned around.
Nobody there.
"Strange..." she thought. "Didn't somebody just grab my arm?"
"Lilith..." the voice hissed.
Brianna turned and ran.
This was just getting way too creepy...

[Meira: AIM!]
Kathy: Are you serious?
Brianna: Yeah... It was so creepy!
Kathy: You mean... you felt somebody grab your arm, but when you turned around, nobody was there?
Brianna: Yeah.
Kathy: That is scary...
Brianna: But I wonder what happened there. I mean, I'm walking by this old house in my neighborhood, somebody grabs my arm, I turn around, and there's nobody there.
Kathy: That's the part I don't understand.
Brianna: You think that Julia or Meira would have any idea what's going on?
Kathy: Not sure... I'll IM Julia.

Kathy: Hey, Julia?
Julia: Yeah?
Kathy: Ok, when Brianna was walking home from school today, she walked past this old house, she felt somebody grab her arm, but when she turned around, nobody was there. Then she heard somebody say "Lilith."
Julia: That Lilith again?
Kathy: What do you mean, again?
Julia: Meira and I heard it during English, then I heard it again during band.
Kathy: Well, this name is coming up a lot.
Julia: Yeah...
Kathy: Do you have any clue what's going on?
Julia: Nope.
Kathy: Well, thanks anyway.
Julia: Did you ask Meira?
Kathy: Forgot.
Julia: -_-'
Kathy: I'll go ask her.

Meira: What's up?
Brianna: When I was walking home from school today, I walked past this old house, and I felt somebody grab my arm. But when I turned around, there was nobody there.
(2 minutes later)
Brianna: Meira?
Meira: Wha-? Hold on a sec...
(2 minutes later)
Meira: Okay, so something really weird happened again.
Brianna: Took you long enough to answer.
Meira: Sorry... paying attention to television right now.
Brianna: What're you watching?
Meira: Veronica Mars.
Brianna: WHAT?!
Meira: Weird tv show...
Brianna: Can we get back on subject now?
Meira: Sorry... So, something else happened. And you have no idea what it is.
Brianna: Yeah.
Meira: Kind of like that scream you heard, huh?
Brianna: Sort of, I guess.
Meira: Did you hear that name... Lilith or something?
Brianna: How'd you know?
Meira: Heard it again during Algebra. Shows how math can get to your head.
Brianna: ...
Meira: Okay...
Brianna: So, you have any clue what's going on?
Meira: Hold on a sec.
(1 minute later)
Meira: Okay, I was rereading what you said.
Brianna: Figured anything out?
Meira: Something weird. You said "past this old house." Do weird things often happen by that house?
Brianna: Sort of...
Meira: Erm...
Brianna: Wait... It is weird, isn't it?
Meira: Yup.
Brianna: So... what do you think?
Meira: I think that whoever lived in that house is a psychopathic, deranged freak.
Brianna: You've been hanging around Jeff and Zach too much.
Meira: ...
Brianna: But it is weird that all this stuff is happening by that one house.
Meira: I think more in your neighborhood. I mean, you live near the school, and we hear all this weird stuff...
Brianna: But it doesn't seem like anybody else can hear it.
Meira: Right...
Brianna: So what do we do now?
Meira: Get offline.
Brianna: WHAT?!
Meira: Dad's yelling at me to get offline... I'll talk to you at school tomorrow!
*Meira signed off at 8:39 pm*

[Meira: Out of AIM.]
There was a bloodcurling scream as soon as Meira signed off.
Brianna turned around.
Nothing.
Her computer sounded, signaling that she had a new IM message.

[Meira: Back in AIM.]
Kathy: So what'd Meira say?
Brianna: A lot of useless stuff.
Kathy: Like-?
Brianna: something about a tv show, but she did mention something.
Kathy: What?
Brianna: Something about that old house. Then her dad yelled at her to get offline.
Kathy: @.@
Brianna: Exactly. You think that we could both run some test to see the history of that house?
Kathy: Possibly...
Brianna: You know any good sites?
Kathy: Nope... Don't know any.
Brianna: I gotta get offline... talk to you tomorrow!
Kathy: Bye!
*Brianna signed off at 8:45 pm*

[Meira: *sigh* Out of AIM.]
Brianna sat down in the gym the next morning, waiting for everybody else to get there.
It was strange...
There was nothing really wrong with the old house... it was just old and creepy. It wasn't really much more than that...
What did Meira say?

Weird things did happen...
"Brianna," Julia said, sitting down. "Did you find out anything about those weird things?"
"Meira said something about it 'being because of that house.'" Brianna replied.
"Riight."
"It's a possibility."
Julia sat there for a minute, thinking.
"Well, I remember that Meira was talking to Jeff in English, and she asked him if extra terrestrial things could happen," she said slowly.
"And what did he say?"
"Anything could happen."
"You guys!" Kathy said, coming up by them.
"What's up?"
"I ran a search online last night," Kathy said. "And I found lots of stories online about ghosts and stuff."
"Did you find any in our area?"
"Just one. It's called 'The Curse of Wings.'"
"Strange," Julia said slowly. "Why would it be called 'The Curse of Wings'?"
"Dunno," Brianna replied. "What did it say about 'The Curse of Wings'?"
"Nothing," Kathy said.
"NOTHING?!"
"Yeah. Only the title was there."
"That's creepy..." Brianna said slowly.
"You guys find anything?" Meira asked, coming up by them.
"Just a legend called 'The Curse of Wings.'"
"'The Curse of Wings'?" Meira asked, frowining. "What's that?"
"That's just it," Julia replied. "We don't know."

"You can barely hear anything in this lunchroom," Meira said grumpily, picking at her food.
"It isn't that bad," Julia joked.
"What?" Meira asked, pretending that she didn't hear.
Everybody laughed.
The lunchroom fell silent.
Brianna looked across the table. "What's going on?"
"I don't know," Meira replied, looking at the clock.
"This is weird..." Julia said, looking around. "Everybody seems to be..."
"Quiet?"
"That's the word!" Julia shouted. "Quiet!"
Everybody was surprised by the echoes.
"The clock is still running," Meira said slowly.
"This is getting creepy," Brianna whispered.
That was audible.
Everybody sat there in shocked silence.
"Lilith..."
"Did you hear that?" Kathy asked, turning around.
"Yeah..." Julia said, glancing around.
"Curse..."
"Did you guys hear THAT?" Brianna asked. "I mean, 'Curse'?"
Julia and Kathy nodded.
The lunchroom exploded in noise, as everybody started talking again.
"What was that all about?" Kathy asked, stunned at the sudden change.
"You think it could have something to do with that voice?" Julia asked.
"Um... guys?" Meira asked timidly.
"What?"
"It's 12:00," she said, her voice stunned.
"What's so bad about that?"
"It was just 12:00 five minutes ago."
