Alex awoke in the dark of night as Holly and Kiba started to leave his room. "So, I'm not dead after all."

Kiba and Holly both stopped as they turned around to look at him. Joy and hope shone on their faces as they hurried over to him. "My Lord, how do you feel?" Kiba asked excitedly as he grinned at Alex.

"I feel like hell. Is there a reason I can barely move my body?" Alex asked as he realized he couldn't sit up.

"Well of course. Your body's been through hell and back. I'm surprised your even able to talk now." Holly stated as she felt his head to see if he had a fever.

"How long have I been out?" Alex asked groggily.

"Three days." Kiba answered solemnly. "We've all been busily working trying to keep everything in order, this is the first time since then that we've been able to check in on you. Shadows still trying to get a Cleric to come to see if they can make sure the curse is purged from your system. But I doubt that'll be necessary."

"Well of course it won't be necessary, I feel fine." Alex said, suddenly he realized something else as he moved slightly beneath the covers. "Is there a reason I'm naked?"

Holly giggled and Kiba chuckled as they looked at him. "That was her idea." Holly said motioning to Brittany who was asleep in a chair next to Alex's bed with a book in her lap. She was no longer wearing one of the dresses Alex had told her to. She was now wearing a black skirt and a white tanktop with blue stitches embroidered into it. "She's been watching over you these past three days. This is the first time she's slept, mainly because she passed out from exhaustion."

"Wait...she's been here all the time." Alex said in disbelief as he looked at Brittany. "That still doesn't explain why she wanted me naked."

"That's so her spell would work better I suppose." Kiba said with a smirk. "But after all this time, its not like its anything new to her."

"WHAT!" Alex yelled. He stopped, not wanting to wake Brittany. "What do you mean by that?"

"Well my Lord, she's seen you naked quite a lot these past few days. Seeing as how we couldn't take care of you...she did." Holly said meekly. She and Kiba couldn't help but grin as Alex paled and his cheeks began to flush.

"I guess it couldn't be helped. But what's this about a her using spells?" Alex asked as replacing his shock with a serious expression.

"She requested that I teach her to use some magic. I of course can't, but I found some spell books in your library and gave them to her. She's an amazingly fast learner. She studied all the healing spells she could, and all the offensive and defensive spells she could find. She's been healing your wounds everyday, but it takes a lot out of her. Today she finally managed to heal you completely, but passed out in the process." Holly admitted.

"So...she's really been through a lot taking care of me huh." Alex said as he looked back at Brittany. His face showed a mixture of sadness, regret, and worry as he stared at her. "I wish she wouldn't worry so much."

"That lass can't help but worry about you." Kiba said with a smirk. "You've given us plenty of scares, especially her. She was afraid when your wounds started on fire that it was her fault. Do you remember any of that?"

"Bits and pieces. I remember pain...a lot of pain. Then I blacked out and started to feel even more pain. Then...I remember her voice and everything stopped hurting as bad." Alex quieted, not wanting to tell the rest. I heard her voice, and my human side took over. My human side was stronger than my demonic, that's not good.

"Aye, that's about how it happened. It was a miracle she was even able to get through your barrier." Kiba mused. Holly started to speak, but hesitated as she looked at Alex with wonder in her eyes.

"If you have something to say, say it." Alex snapped.

"My Lord, I know its not my place, but if you don't mind. How were you able to use magic?" Holly asked with out looking at Alex for fear he would lash out at her.

"Holly, there is a time and place for everything. This is neither the time nor place. You will find out soon enough, be satisfied with that for now." Alex responded.

"Yes my Lord." Holly replied quickly. So, he will tell us. I'm surprised, I guess he actually does trust us.
"My Lord, if there is nothing you need, we'd better get back downstairs. The mages have been trying to get in to see you. I'm sure its about the magic act you pulled back at the arena. We've been keeping them at bay, but now that your well I'm not sure how long we will be able to keep them from coming in." Kiba said with a tired look on his face.

"I understand. Go, I'll be fine, but try to keep them as long as possible. I don't want to talk to them anytime soon." Alex said. Kiba and Holly nodded as they turned to leave. Alex looked at Brittany and thought for a moment before speaking. "Wait, before you go. Place her in the bed with me." Alex cringed as both Holly and Kiba stopped dead in their tracks and looked at him with amazement. "I'm not crazy or delirious. She deserves a good nights rest and she won't get it in a chair. It’s the least I can do for her, for her taking care of me that is."

Even though both the demons were speechless they nodded and Kiba started to pick Brittany up. He brought her to the opposite side of Alex's bed and slipped her beneath the covers. "Also, can someone please get me some damn pants." Alex asked. "I don't want you two to think I'm going to do anything to her while she's asleep."

"We know you won't." Holly said with a smirk. "For one, you can barely move. For another, you can't take much more advantage of her, than what she's done to you while you've been asleep." With that she tossed Kiba, Alex's night pants as she walked out with a wide grin on her face. Alex was mortified by what she had said as he looked up at Kiba pleadingly.

"Don't worry my Lord, I'm sure she's just kidding...at least I think she is." Kiba said with a frown. He helped Alex get on his pants as he too began to leave. "My Lord...I'm sorry we didn't help you back at the arena."

"Don't be Kiba. You followed my orders exactly, even though you almost had to fight Zanatos. I'm glad you did what you did." Alex said, the weariness in his voice was evident as he yawned.

"Thank you my Lord. I'll be back here in the morning to check on you." Kiba said he left with a small nod and shut the door behind him. As soon as Kiba left Alex looked more intently at Brittany. Just what have you been doing while I've been out? Your so beautiful, even more so than I remember.

"Thank you Brittany, for everything." Alex whispered. He gingerly wrapped his arm around her as he brought her close to him. He couldn't believe what he was doing, but he was too tired to consider his actions. He gently kissed Brittany's lips as he rested his head on top of hers. He soon fell back into a deep sleep as he held Brittany close to him.

The next morning Brittany awoke to Alex gently kissing her neck and lips. She was shocked at what he was doing as she sat up quickly. "W-what are you doing?"

"Well, if I'd known you didn't like it I wouldn't have done it." Alex said with a smirk as he leaned back to look at her. "But, I figured with you taking care of me, and with you seeing so much of me...the least I could do is repay your kindness."

Brittany blushed as she realized he knew she had seen him naked. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, I want you to be my mate for real." Alex said with a devilish smirk as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a deep passionate kiss. "Mine, now and forever more."

Brittany didn't know what to say as she let Alex slowly kiss her neck and lips. Can this really be Alex? Why...why would he change his mind so suddenly? As if Alex could read her thoughts he answered.

"I know you doubt my sincerity, but please don't." Alex said with a gentle smile. Brittany couldn't believe it, but his eyes, his entire demeanor was exactly like the Alex she knew from the human realm. Even the way he smirked as he kissed again on the lips. "You've done so much for me, and...the longer I am around you, the harder it is for me to control my emotions. I want to be with you...I need to be with you. I won't lie, its taking every ounce of will power I have not to take you for myself right now. So make your decision hastily about wether or not you want to be my true mate, for any longer and I won't be able to resist."

It took but a second for Brittany to come up with an answer as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into a deep kiss. She felt Alex press his tongue against her lips as he slipped his tongue into her mouth hungrily. Brittany moaned with pleasure and Alex couldn't hold himself any longer.

"I take it your answer is yes." Alex said. Without waiting for a reply he quickly slipped off her tanktop and without even looking unclasped her bra. Alex slipped off his own pants as he went down and pulled off Brittany's skirt and panties. Alex stopped for a second as he stared at her.

"Is something wrong?" Brittany asked, instinctively covering herself up. Alex reached out and moved her hands from her chest as he pulled her close to him and kissed her neck, and then her lips passionately before whispering into her ear. "Nothings wrong. I was just admiring how beautiful you are, and how foolish I was for not noticing it sooner."

"Alex..." Brittany said in awe of how he was acting. Alex kissed her once more before he started to move himself lower on her. Brittany stiffened as Alex gently spread her thighs apart with his. He looked at her for a moment before smiling.
"Don't worry, you'll be fine." Alex said soothingly. He bent over and kissed her lips again at the same time inserting himself inside of her. His kiss muffled her cry of pain. Alex waited for her to become adjusted to him being inside of her before he started his pace. Brittany could barely breathe as Alex started his pace. She was in pure ecstasy as Alex moved back and forth. She gripped the sheets tightly and moaned with pleasure as Alex gently caressed her breasts and bent over and sucked on each one even as he continued his steady pace. Brittany felt a knot form inside her stomach as Alex gradually spread up his pace. Brittany moaned louder and in an instant the knot was gone as she cried out Alex's name. Alex released himself at the same time as Brittany felt a warm sensation inside of her. "Not bad for your first time."

"What do you mean?" Brittany asked weakly as she smiled at him.

"You lasted longer than most." Alex replied. He was still inside of her and leaned forwards and kissed her gently. "But then again I took it easy on you."

"So, I take it you've done this before." Brittany asked, a little saddened by the fact that she wasn't his first.

"Well, in this realm I'm technically eon's old. You can't expect me to live that long and to have never been with anyone." Alex said calmly.

"Yeah...I guess your right." Brittany replied, still crestfallen. Suddenly the door to Alex's bedroom opened as someone began to walk in. Before they could get fully in Alex twisted around and unleash an energy attack with his claws aimed at the door. Whoever opened it shut it quickly as the attack left large gashes in the wall and door. "Shit..."

"Who was that?" Brittany asked as she tried to sit up, but couldn't since Alex was still inside her and on top of her.

"I'm not sure." Alex replied. He started to quickly remove himself from Brittany, but stopped when she winced in pain. "Sorry." He then slowly pulled himself out of her as he stood up and walked over to his closet. He pulled out black pants and a black high collared, long sleeve shirt. The shirt had red lines atop the collar that met in the center of the front and went straight down the shirt. The shirt was pointed at the ends and the sleeves were unbuttoned. After putting on his clothes he opened Brittany's closet and motioned towards it. "What would you like to wear?"

"Hmm...which one do you like? It really doesn't matter to me." Brittany replied as she crawled over towards the end of the bed staring at the closet and Alex.

"Well, personally I'd prefer you in nothing." Alex teased. He then pulled out a dark black dress with a pink low cut v-neck. Alex held it up for Brittany to see. "Will this do?"

"Yeah!" Brittany exclaimed as she eagerly got out of bed and ran over to get the dress. As soon as she had the dress in her hands Alex wrapped his arm around her and pulled her into a deep kiss. He pressed his lips hard against Brittany's as a growl began to rise in his throat. He could sense Brittany's fear he released her quickly and looked away.

"I didn't lie when I said demon's were animalistic. We give into our desires faster than others. When I said I took it easy on you in bed, I meant it." Alex replied softly.

"I-it's okay. I knew that, well...it would be different. It will just take some getting used to." Brittany replied as she gently touched her bruised lips. "At least it was a good kiss." She then slipped into the dress and turned around so that Alex could tie it for her. Once he did he wrapped his arm around her waist and walked out with her to the dinning hall. Both of them were conscious of the glances they were receiving from the demons they passed. Alex glared evilly at them until they left, it wasn't until they ran into Kiba, Shadow, and Holly that they realized why everyone was acting this way.

"Well my Lord, its about time." Holly said with a giggle as she looked at the couple.

"Aye, I was hoping things would turn out this way." Kiba added as he gently slapped Alex on the shoulder. Even Shadow was smiling as he leaned against the wall to look at them.

"What the hell do you mean?" Alex asked as he raised his eyebrow in wonder.

"Well my Lord, to put it bluntly, you slept with her didn't you? You made her your mate, this time...for more personal reasons." Kiba replied with a grin. Brittany blushed brightly at his comments, which made the whole lot of them laugh.

"Dammit, was it one of you guy's that walked in on us." Alex asked angrily. Kiba shook his head as he pointed back at Shadow and Holly.

"Wasn't us. We've been outside all day, but the whole castle knows about it now. We heard from one of the cooks. Which that reminds me, they're preparing a huge feast for you upon my request. Today should be celebrated. Your feeling better, and now our Lord has finally taken his mate." Kiba said with pride.

"Hmm, well there's nothing we can do about it now." Alex said softly as he pulled Brittany closer to him. "Still, I don't want this leaving the castle understand. If you know that anyone has spread this outside of these walls, bring them to me."

Brittany looked up at him with a questioning glance. "I don't need anyone to find out that I might actually have feelings for you. I don't want to put your life in any unnecessary risk."

"I'll be fine as long as your with me." Brittany replied softly. "But remember, I don't need as much protection now that I know some spells. I'm actually pretty good with them." Alex stopped walking as he looked down at her for a second.

"Hmm, we shall see." Alex said with keen interest. "Today, we relax. Tomorrow, I want to see all that you have learned." Before Brittany could answer Alex pulled her into another kiss. Alex started to push his tongue into Brittany's mouth when he realized that Kiba and the others were still there and standing uncomfortably around. Alex pulled back, and was satisfied to see that Brittany was disappointed. "Well then. You are dismissed. I'm sure you have better things to do than watch me and my mate. As soon as dinner is ready, I want you to be in the dinning hall. Is that clear?"

"Yes my Lord, of course." Shadow answered. He nodded slightly as he and Holly left. Kiba stayed behind as he looked up at Alex. Kiba walked up to Alex and told him something in a hushed voice.

"My Lord, please do not hurt her. If you do not mean what you are doing, do not lead her on." Kiba whispered. Alex growled loudly as Kiba backed away.

"I shall do what I please." Alex snapped. Brittany looked at Kiba and started to ask when Kiba shook his head for her to be quiet.

"My apologies my Lord. I will be gone then." Kiba left quickly, only stopping to smile comfortingly at Brittany before leaving.

"What was that all about?" Brittany asked as she rested her head softly on Alex's shoulders.

"Kiba's taken a liking to you. I can't say I blame him of course, he's seem to be taking on the role of the protective father. Only problem is, he needs to watch his tongue. No one tells me what to do, especially not when it concerns you." Alex said coldly.

"Still, he couldn't have meant anything bad by what he said." Brittany replied defensively.

"We shall see. Now, I do believe I owe you a tour of the ground my lady. So shall we?" Alex asked as he waved his hands towards the huge front doors he was leading her too.

"Really? Sure!" Brittany exclaimed as she hugged him tightly. He's different. He's so much like the old Alex, but still has the qualities of Kane. Still, maybe Kiba was wrong. Maybe Alex's emotions were stronger than Kane's will power. Either way, I'm going to cherish this as long as I may.
