Brittany awoke to find herself laying in a strange bed in a room she didn't recognize. Her jaw was still sore and she was sure it was bruised and swollen as she slowly sat up to take in her new surroundings. She was laying on an old Victorian style bed with four posts and an a canopy cover. The covers of the bed and that of the canopy were both dark red. The room had little as far as furniture making it look larger that it appeared. All it had in it besides the bed was a vanity table and chair. As soon as Brittany recalled everything that had happened the previous night she heard the door to her room open up. A female demon walked in carrying a tray of food. She looked both shocked and disgusted as she stared at Brittany. She set the tray down on Brittany's vanity and turned to leave.

"I'm surprised to see that you are awake. I'd suggest you eat now while you can I can assure you that it will be the last thing you get." the demon said as she continued to the door.

"Wait a minute! Where the hell am I? What do you mean by the last thing I'll get?" Brittany asked in one long breath as she tried to get out of bed.

"You will find out soon enough. I will notify the Lord that you are awake." the demon replied as she reached for the door. Brittany acted on impulse as she threw her right hand towards the door and said a spell.

"Gaia Shogai!" Brittany recited. Suddenly a barrier formed around the door just as the demon was about to grab the handle. The barrier knocked the demon back a few steps giving Brittany enough time to get out of bed and prepare for her next move. "Your not going anywhere until I get some answers."

"So, the little slut can use magic. I'm surprised, no one informed of this little talent of yours. The Lord of the south must care a lot about you to teach you magic, it's almost tragic what's going to happen to you." the demon said as she turned to face Brittany. The demon's eyes glowed yellow as she bared her fangs and glared evilly at Brittany.

Your not half as surprised as I am. I guess my energy recharged or something. At least I'm able to use a little magic. Better make the best of it while I can. Brittany thought. It was then that the demon's words finally sunk in. "What do you mean...tragic? What's going to happen?"
"I already told you that you'll find out. Now if you don't let down this barrier, I'll have no regrets about ripping out your tongue. The Lord said to keep you alive, there was nothing specific about you being all in one piece." the demon threatened. Before Brittany could respond the demon's skin began to change and darken. Her skin started to take on a dark shade of green and appeared as if it was turning into scales. "What do you say? Let down the barrier or I'll make it to where you'll never be able to kiss lover boy ever again!"

Brittany's eyes flared at the demon's comment as she raised her hands ready to cast another spell. "Now you've gone too far."

"Fine then, you've made up your mind. I'll make sure to keep you alive, though when I'm through with you, you might not want to be." the demon said in a haughty tone. Suddenly the woman's clothes started to shred and rip as her body began to change. Her legs merged together and extended forming a long green tail. Her neck grew longer and her face stretched forward. It seemed as if every bone in her body was breaking and reforming itself. Finally she was through it was obvious what kind of demon she was.

"But...how?" Brittany stammered as she lost her confidence and slowly backed away.

"Our Lord preferssssss ussss in my first form better than thisssss one. We are better able to get thingssss done that way. The magessssss cast a spell which allows us to change when we want as long as we are inside the castle." the demon hissed. She flicked out her long tongue and seemed to lick the air. Her eyes grew brighter as she advanced on Brittany. "I'll send the Lord of the south your tongue as a present to remember you by. I'm sure he'll just find it ever so ironic. The human wench that he loved died because he taught her magic and made her to sure of herself to realize how outranked she is!"

"You know what? I hate snakes with a passion. I really do, I'm scared to death of them. But...right now I'm too pissed to be scared." Brittany yelled as she threw both her hands in front of her just as the demon lunged at her. The demon's claws were but seconds away from tearing into her flesh when Brittany cast her spell.

"Tengoku shinsei hono'o!" Brittany yelled. There was a bright flash of light as fire erupted from Brittany's fingers and collided with the demon. The demon shrieked with pain as the fire burned her flesh. Just as quick as the fight started it ended. Brittany gasped in shock as she stared at the charred remains of the demon. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before looking at the demon once more. I won! I actually won! Alex would be so proud if he could see me no...no stop it Brittany! You shouldn't be thinking of him, not now. Just concentrate on getting out of here. If I can find out where I am I can get back to Alex's realm. Regardless of wether or not I want to see him, or even if he wants to see me, that's the only place I can go to that will be relatively safe. Brittany looked down at the demon once more and smirked as a new realization hit her. I am strong. Stronger than I thought. I just killed a demon as if it were nothing. "Try recovering from that bitch." Brittany sneered. With a powerful step Brittany crushed the demon's charred skull as she exited her room. Now to get out of here.

Brittany wondered around trying to find her way around the long hallways and numerous doors. The castle reminded her more of a maze than anything. She had to retrace her steps many times whenever she would find herself at a dead end. Brittany ran into two more demons, who were at first shocked at seeing Brittany, then deciding that she shouldn't be there, attacked her. With a wave of her hand and a few words Brittany sent the demons to an early fiery grave. She continued wondering around until she finally found herself in a large room filled with pictures, furniture, and a grand piano. Brittany was in awe of the beauty of the room as she momentarily forgot where she really was and began to explore the room. Brittany ran her fingers across the piano and slowly stroked one of the keys which resonated sound throughout the room. Brittany was so wrapped up in the piano that she didn't even hear the footsteps behind her.

"So, this is how you repay my kindness? Killing three of my servants is not the best way to get in my favor." a voice said matter of factly. Brittany nearly jumped out of her skin at the person's words. As soon as Brittany regained control of her racing heart she turned to face her accuser.

"Kindness? Locking me in a room, sending someone that pretty much told me I'm about to die, probably poisoning my food, you call that kindness?" Brittany asked. It was then that she looked at who she was speaking to, causing her heart to drop. "Wait...you mean I'm in your realm!"

Alex opened his eyes and jumped out of his chair. In one fluid motion he wiped the blood forming in his throat and sent droplets of it cascading across his desk. He raced out of his room and headed for the front door. Shit! I should've been paying more attention. Shadow, Kiba...I've got to hurry. Alex already knew what was happening even before he heard the screams or smelt the blood. In his astral form he had seen it happen.

Shadow stormed off to the training hall outside. He slammed his fist into a pillar as he cursed beneath his breath. "Holly...." It was then that Shadow felt the presence behind him. Shadow instinctively flipped over the attack as a black hand passed beneath him. The hand collided with the pillar shattering it instantly. Before the creature could even move Shadow was upon him. Shadow lunged striking at the creatures throat and heart, but finding neither. It was then that Shadow realized what he was fighting. "Wraiths.!" Shadow cursed as two black hands stabbed into each side of Shadow's right arm. Digging deep into the flesh, ensuring that Shadow wouldn't move. Shadow howled in pain, but even then he could still sense the other presence behind him. Without a second thought Shadow clawed at his right arm with his free hand. Even as the flesh peeled and the blood poured Shadow didn't care. Finally he got deep enough to where he could move his arm out of the wraith's clutches. Shadow immediately twisted to the side to avoid another wraith's attack. Shadow backhanded one wraith into the other, at the same time running towards the opposite wall. Shadow jumped onto the wall and quickly climbed up it. Another wraith launched itself at Shadow, who acted in the only way he could, he jumped. Shadow lunged at the wraith, sending both of them crashing through one of the windows and landing on the ground. Shadow dug both hands deep into the wraiths chest and tossed the wraith behind him. When Shadow tried to turn to make his way back to the castle he ran into another wraith. This time before he could react Shadow was slashed from the left side of his lower chest to his right shoulder. The gash was deep and fatal. Shadow collapsed to the ground in a pool of his own blood, the life ebbing out of him.

It was then that Kiba came out. He immediately caught the scent of Shadow's blood and hurriedly ran towards him. "Shadow! God, please be alright kid. I'm not going to lose you." Kiba declared as he kneeled beside Shadow. Shadow's breath was raspy and Kiba knew if Shadows wasn't treated immediately that he would die. Kiba didn't see anyone around Shadow, and it wasn't until he picked Shadow up that he felt the wraiths presence. Kiba launched himself at the training building, clinging onto the side of the building. He hurried scaled the wall not even looking back, knowing that Shadow's safety came before fighting the wraiths. As soon as Kiba landed on the roof he was immediately attacked by another wraith. The wraith launched itself at Kiba, who in a swift motion jumped above the wraiths head and kicked him off the roof with a powerful kick. Just when his feet hit the ground another wraith was upon him. Kiba twisted his body around and used his free hand to grab the wraith by the back of the neck and throw him off of the building as well. Before anymore wraiths could attack Kiba ran to the edge of the roof and jumped. He landed only twenty feet from the castle, but out of the corner of his eyes he could see the wraiths closing in on the front door. In a last ditch effort Kiba charged at the castle. He launched himself over a wraith that tried to strike him down, just barely dodging the wraith's hands. At the same time Kiba used his free hand to dig into the side of the castle wall. The resulting force sent him swinging around the side of the castle, and sent him crashing through one of the castle window's. Kiba landed in the kitchen and yelled for help.
