With every question that Celine asked Brittany fell deeper and deeper into her gaze. Brittany's tried to resist but there was no point in even trying anymore. It was then that she felt as if she could hear her name being called. Within the darkness of her own mind she couldn't be sure but she could've sworn that the voice belonged to Alex. Alex...I-I can't do this. I've got to get out of here! I'm not going to let this bitch get the better of me. Hell after all she's told me I've got to see Alex again, I need to know how he feels about me. Now just concentrate dammit. There's got to be someway to break her control.

Brittany tried as hard as she could to summon the strength to move her arm, but she could barely even move her fingers, much less her whole arm. She tried to search the wooden armrest of the chair she was in, trying to find a better grip so that she might be able to push herself with. As her fingers ran across the bottom of the wooden armrest her fingers grazed something sharp. Brittany's mind flashed with pain as she instinctively pulled her hand away. Celine was so focused on Brittany that she didn't even see Brittany's hand move as she replaced it back on top of the armrest. Brittany was surprised to find that her mind cleared some when she pricked herself. Pain...if I can focus on the pain, I might be able to clear my mind enough to break free of Celine's control. The nail might just be my ticket out of this hell hole. Brittany could barely make out the words that came from Celine's curved lips as Brittany's body automatically replied. Even then she was steadily tightening her grip around the nail. Brittany's mind screamed in pain as Celine's control began to falter with every passing second. The nail continued to dig deeper into Brittany's skin, causing blood to steadily drop from her hand. The scent of blood came floating into Celine's nostrils as she looked away from Brittany and stared at her wounded hand.

"So the miserable little wench has figured out how to free yourself from my gaze. I'm surprised, but it matters little now. I've gotten all that I wanted." Celine said with a cruel smile. "Now be a nice little girl and return to your room. Zanatos will be coming for you and I wouldn't want anything to happen to you because you did something rash."

"Would you consider killing you, rash?" Brittany asked as she pulled her hand free of the nail and pointed both her hands at Celine's face as she cast a spell. "Tengoku shinsei hono'o!" The burning flame erupted from Brittany's hand and hit Celine in the face at point blank range. Just as the flame died down Brittany got up and ran towards the exit of the room. Just as she was about to reach for the handle of the door Celine grabbed her arm and threw her against the far wall.

"Now that wasn't very nice, was it?" Celine said as she rubbed her hand against her cheek to wipe a dark spot off of it. Brittany couldn't believe that her attack hadn't damaged her at all. Brittany wasn't expecting it to actually kill her, but at the very least hurt her. As Brittany stood up Celine made her way towards her.

"Stay the hell away from me you bitch!" Brittany yelled as she cast another spell which created a barrier around her. This won't hold for long, but at least it'll buy me some time to think of how in the hell I'm going to get out of this. Just as the barrier was forming around Brittany she felt a gust of wind pass by her. As the barrier closed Brittany realized what the gust of wind was.

"Foolish girl. Do you really think a simple barrier could keep me from my prey?" Celine asked in a cold voice as she stood behind Brittany. Even as Brittany turned around to face her she had already started casting another spell.

"Kusari no aru gimu-teki!" Brittany Celine tried to strike out at Brittany, but before she could move, her arm was entwined by circling chains that erupted from the floor beneath her. Several more chains erupted from the floor encircling Celine's body; binding her to the spot where she was standing. Brittany didn't wait to see if the chains would hold her. She instead released the barrier and ran out of it heading back for the door. This time she made it to the door and flung it open and ran head first into two demons. Before Brittany could react one demon grabbed both her arms while another placed a metal choker around her mouth and then placed restraints over Brittany's hands. They then led her back to where Celine was standing. Just as Brittany had predicted the chains had little effect besides annoying her. Celine stalked over to Brittany and with a quick fluid motion slapped her across the face. Brittany would've fallen to the ground if it hadn't been for the fact that demons were still holding onto her. The force of the blow almost knocked her unconscious and hurt like hell.

"I was going to let you off easy. I had already gotten all I wanted out of you, but now I'm going to make sure you pay. As long as that restraint is over you mouth there will be no spell casting for you. You can't cast spells if you can't speak now can you. First off let me tell you this. You had better pray that your lover boy comes to save you. Cause when I'm through with you even Zanatos will look like a saint. Take her to the dungeon." Celine instructed with a wave of her hand as the two demons turned and started to drag Brittany away. "Wait, one more thing. All I had told you before about Kane loving you. All of that was a lie. I don't want you thinking he actually cares about someone as pathetic as you. If you want to get your hopes up that's fine. I can't wait to see how you look when you realize he isn't coming for you."

At hearing these words Brittany felt as if Celine had slapped her harder that time than before. She's lying! She's got to be. After all she said, after all I allowed my heart to believe. I'm not going to give up that easily. That bitch isn't going to get the pleasure of watching me cry. Alex will come for me. I know he will. Brittany thought as the demons continued dragging her towards the unknown. The took her to a large stone door which one of the demons effortlessly lifted up. The other demon drug her through the door as they proceeded downwards into a dark abyss. Finally they stopped and threw Brittany into a dark cell that reeked of blood and death. Without so much as a word, or even a look back in her direction the demons closed the cell door and left Brittany alone in the darkness.

As soon as they were gone Brittany tried to remove her restraints but found that it was useless. Finally after realizing how hopeless it was Brittany felt warm tears fall from her eyes. This is it. Even if Alex does come, he'll never find me. I'm not even sure if he will come. No, I can't think that. No matter what has happened between us I believe that Alex does care about me. He has to, he couldn't fake that look in his eyes, or the way he held me. I just wish I could see him, to have him hold me again. I don't want to be here, the only place I want to be is with him. The more I try and convince myself otherwise the more I miss him. Alex, please hurry.

At the first sign of dawn Alex was up and preparing for his and Kiba's departure. His body was still injured but he was leaving no matter what. He was wearing a different version of his training suit beneath many layers of white clothing and a long white robe identical to the clothes the clerics had worn. When he went downstairs Kiba was dressed in similar attire as Holly and Shadow instructed him on what to do incase Alex's wounds should open back up.

"You will need to stop the bleeding as soon as possible." Holly was saying as Alex approached them. "My Lord everything is ready. Rylus went outside to get the horses for you."

"There will be no need for horses. We can make better time if we run. These clothes are just so we won't have to draw any unnecessary attention to ourselves." Alex said solemnly. "While me and Kiba are gone I'm counting on you two to make sure everything goes okay. If the wraiths come don't fight them. The spell I cast yesterday created a barrier around this castle that the wraiths shouldn't be able to enter, so you should be okay. I'm not sure how long it will last or how strong it is though so be careful and don't take any risks."

"Don't worry my Lord. We took care of your kingdom for many eons while you were in exile. I think we can handle one day." Shadow grinned as he wrapped his arm around Holly and held her close to him.

"Aye my Lord. These two youngsters will be just fine." Kiba agreed with the proud look a father might have as he praised his children.

"I have no doubt in their abilities I know they will be okay. It's my enemies that I give warning for. Now lets go Kiba. We don't need to waste anymore time. Last night was full of bad dreams and I'd rather not see them come true." Alex said in an ominous tone as he grabbed one of the two staffs that Shadow had prepared for them and started walking towards the door. Kiba nodded and waved to Shadow and Holly as he two grabbed his staff and pulled the hood of his cloak over his head to conceal his face.

"Take care you two. We will be back shortly and with the lass too. Just make sure we have a castle to come back to." Kiba said with a smirk as he followed Alex out of the castle as the sun began to rise. Alex and Kiba both started sprinting across the open fields knowing that as soon as they entered Celine's realm they would have to race against time to reach Celine's castle before they were spotted. They moved silently as they literally flew across the plains. Each one was absorbed by their own thoughts yet still, words were not needed for communication between the two warriors. They had worked together for so long that they could tell what the other was thinking just by their body language. As soon as they hit the more wooded areas they darted back and forth between the trees. With their fast and nearly silent movements the pair would seems more like phantoms than people as they moved amongst the dark forest.

Brittany I'm coming. I don't care if you don't want to see me I'm not going to stand by and let Celine do anything to you. Just stay alive until I get there.
