Aurora and Shadow hurried towards the castle. The weather had cleared up by now but there was still an unnatural darkness that surrounded the place. Both wolves were out of breath by the time they reached the inner corridor of the castle. They collapsed in a heap, both panting for breath. In a matter of seconds Kiba was beside them.
“Are you alright? Both of you look as if you’ve seen a ghost,” Kiba exclaimed as he knelt beside them.
“I think we did see a ghost, or something pretty damn near to one,” Shadow replied through gasps. It was obvious that both demons had their nerves shaken by something.
Kiba’s eyes widened in surprise at Shadow’s words and he silently motioned towards the sitting room. “Come, let’s hear what happened.”
“Wait, before that, where’s Alex?” Aurora asked suddenly.
“He’s gone lass. He left not too long before you two arrived here.”
Both Shadow and Aurora exchanged glances with each other, Kiba could tell that something was up and crossed his arms with a cynical look on his face. “Okay you two, tell me what’s going on.”
Shadow sighed and looked over at Aurora. “I’ll tell him.”
“Be my guest, I don’t want to have to think about it,” Aurora replied with a slight shudder.
By now Kiba’s interest was thoroughly peaked as he waited anxiously to find out what they were talking about.
“A lot happened when Aurora went after Alex. Evidently the mage named Raza knows more about it than we do. He said a lot of things that really don’t make sense in someways, but in other ways they do. Anyway, he gave Alex a book, and then Alex disappeared. Me and Aurora were about to go try and find him when we both heard this voice.” Shadow stopped and shuddered at the thought, but quickly recovered and continued on with his story. “It was like a cold wind washed over both us. I can’t describe it, but whatever the Hell it was, it was creepy. One thing’s for sure however, the voice we heard was unmistakable. “
”It was Brittany’s voice...,” Aurora said softly. She turned to look up at Kiba with eyes that seemed scared, yet filled with sorry. “We saw her Kiba. We saw Brittany standing before us. She looked so fragile and so sad. She was crying, and we didn’t know why. Then all of sudden she started talking, I’ll never forget what she said as long as I live.”
“A Devil became a Lord, a Lord became a lover, a lover lost love and returned to being a Devil, a Devil trying to become a God,” Shadow stated. “She told us to stop him. She begged us not to let him continue doing what he is. If he continues down this path, it will lead to his own ruin.”
“Kiba, please tell me where Alex went. Please tell me he’s not doing what I think he is,” Aurora begged him.
Kiba hung his head down sadly and in a soft voice replied, “He’s gone to bring her back.”
Five white cloaked figures stood facing another person who was completely cloaked in white. The tension was thick between the people, all of which seemed to be lost in their own thoughts. The ominous silence was finally broken when one of the five spoke. “You say she has no recollection of any of her memories?”
“None, all she can remember is her name,” the cloaked figure who stood out answered in reply.
“There can be no mistake about it then. This has never occurred before, what do you suppose had done this?” one of the five asked the leader.
The leader of the five seemed deep in thought, finally he answered the other’s question. “This girl.”
“Her name is Brittany,” the cloaked figure offered.
“This girl remembers nothing, other than that there is nothing significant about her.”
“I’m afraid you are wrong Zemnas. There is more to this girl than meets the eye,” the cloaked figure objected.
“You speak out of turn Lucia, you are the one on trial here. Still, what is it that you are talking about?” Zemnas asked.
“This girl did not come straight here as others have. Her soul lingered in the Demon Realm for quite sometime before coming here,” the one named Lucia answered.
“What, that is impossible! Every soul comes here right after their soul has departed their body. There are no exceptions!”
“Well, evidently there are. That girl stayed in the Demon Realm because her heart and soul belonged to another and she couldn’t bear to leave them,” Lucia replied brazenly.
“What is this nonsense? How can you speak as if you know about this girl’s life. Not even she remembers her time on earth.”
“True, but I can sense these things. You know as well as I do, Zemnas, that I am never wrong in these cases. That girl’s love and devotion to someone within the confides of the Demon Realm, was so strong that she defied death itself to remain by their side. I believe that it is because of that, that she cannot remember anything. She gave her heart and soul to the one she loved, and with that act, she lost all chances of gaining admittance into here,” Lucia replied softly.
“Yet, you still brought her here,” one of the cloaked figures stated.
“That girl was from the Demon Realm, yet, there was no sense of malice or hate emitting itself from her. All there was, was a pure light, one that rivals that of our own. I could not send her else where because I do not believe she belongs anywhere else. The only better place she could be as of now, is in the arms of the person she loves.”
“Still, do not think your actions shall go unpunished Lucia.”
“I know, and I shall take them willingly.”
Zemnas scoffed at Lucia’s attitude. He quickly added in a harsher tone. “Still, there is the matter of what to do with her.”
“Do not worry about that. I have a feeling that if the person who she loves, feelings are as strong as hers, we shall see them soon enough,” Lucia said with a smirk.
“Lucia, do not dare tell me that you have intervened within the Demon Realm.”
“No, of course not. I’m just stating a fact. We shall see him soon enough,” Lucia stated. Before any of the other cloaked figures could protest to his actions, Lucia waved goodbye and disappeared in a flash of light.
Zemnas was fuming at Lucia’s actions. Suddenly, his features brightened as a new thought entered his mind. “We will deal with him later. We have other matters to worry about. There is still that matter of what to do about the demon/wraith hybrid that lives in the Demon Realm.”
Author's Note: Short update, but I hope you guys like it. Now, I do realize that I still really haven't mentioned anything about the child yet. Okay, for one, yes the child did die during the pregnancy. Now, another thing, Brittany is the main focus of Alex's torment. That is the reason why he is more focused on bringing her back than his child. Still, trust me, he will bring his child back if he succeeds in bringing Brittany back. Even though he might not show it, his unborn child is not far from his thoughts, but that's another story to be saved for later on. Well, catch you guys later.
