Fan Fiction ❯ Trancending Death ❯ The Five Point Pentagram- Part 4 ( Chapter 36 )

“Rire!” Baou yelled as he dive bombed Alex. Alex was too preoccupied with Rire to be prepared for the winged demon behind him. Baou’s fist connected with Alex’s face, causing Alex to go sliding backwards. Baou was relentless with his attacks on Alex, knowing that if he let up he was a dead man.
Rire barely had enough strength to pull the spear out of him. He watched as Baou landed blow after blow upon Alex. Much to his disappointment, it seemed as if his attacks barely did anything to Alex. Yet, something caught Rire’s eye.
He’s able to attack him. Alex is using his own demonic aura, which is weakening the aura around him. Meaning he won’t be able to rely on that aura shield anymore. Well, that explains one thing. Now I know why Alex hasn’t transformed or used any of his own power. If he did, the one who’s controlling him would lose all control, and he wouldn’t want that to happen. I only have about three minutes left before I’m a goner. That means I have to end this now.
Rire stood on shaking knees and folded his hands together. It’s time to use the final spell.
Baou pounded on Alex’s face, and just when he thought he might actual be doing something, Alex caught Baou’s right hand, in his left. Baou looked on with wide eyes as Alex effortlessly crushed Baou’s hand, as if it was nothing more than paper. Before Baou even had a chance to scream, Alex proceeded to crush Baou’s forearm. Alex then grabbed hold of Baou’s other arm, crushing his right hand and forearm just as he had his left. Alex looked at Baou with eyes that were full of pure evil. Baou couldn’t even scream in pain as Alex pulled down on both his arms, breaking them at the shoulder. Alex actually seemed disappointed that Baou had yet to scream at the pain. Noting this, while he was still holding onto Baou’s limp arms, he swung Baou into a tree. Baou connected with the tree, his body making a sickening cracking sound as he did. Alex was about to continue his assault when Rire called out to him.
“It’s over Alex. We’re both dead men, but our deaths aren’t about to be in vain. I hope to Hell you come to your senses before you become more haunted by all the people you have killed. Because one day you’re going to have to atone for those sins, and I’d hate to have to atone for all the sins you have committed. Baou, this is it. I’m going to place the final mark. With some luck, you might survive. Here’s hoping.”
Baou was fading in and out of consciousness as Rire spoke. His head was throbbing with pain. Other than that, he couldn’t feel the rest of his body. What is he saying? What does he mean I might survive. If he can place the fifth seal, we should both survive. What’s going on?
“So, I take it, you’re going to resort to that. Heh, fine then. Come at me,” Alex said in a mocking tone.
Rire didn’t even respond as he closed his eyes and steadied his breathing. This is it. It’s finally going to be over. All I have to do is this. In all honesty Alex, neither me nor Baou really feel sorry for you. The truth is, we both envy you. We envy the fact that you have a love that you are willing to become a monster for. We envy the fact that you found someone who loved you like that girl did. It is because of that fact that we are so willing to die. You found love when we couldn’t. That is why you deserve to live. That is why, that is why we sacrificed our lives. So that you might come to your senses and stop this madness. Brittany, don’t be to mad at him. Even with all the chaos that surrounds him, he still hasn’t completely given into the darkness. That is because as long as you are still a part of him, that part can never be over taken by the darkness.
Rire opened his eyes with new determination. “This ends now. Daburu hashi ikenie!” Rire felt a new sensation of power course through his veins. A power that came only when one sacrificed their life for but a moment of unimaginable power.
Alex watched as Rire cast the spell. At first he wasn’t worried, but once he felt the power surge within Rire, he realized he had made a mistake. He tried to call upon more of his power, but Rire disappeared in a cloud of smoke, only to appear before Alex. His slammed his fist into Alex’s face, causing Alex to stumble backwards. While he was off guard Rire placed the final point on the pentagram. Rire pulled his right hand back and then slammed it, open palmed, into the middle of the pentagram on Alex’s chest. Rire grabbed hold of his right arm and said the final part of the purification spell.
“Shou kon kaga motte anata no chikara. Ara gobou no amatsu hikari!”
A blinding light surrounded the two fighters. Baou couldn’t make out what happened next, but when the light dispersed Alex was standing motionless, smoke from the pentagram coming off of his chest. Rire too, was frozen in place. Baou struggled to find the will to move, but he couldn’t muster the strength. He then tried to call out to Rire.
“You did it! Great job! You did it, man!”
A small smile graced Rire’s face as he looked up at Baou. He nodded weakly. “I did it. Baou, I might not have said this before, but you’re really not a bad guy after all.”
At first Baou didn’t understand what Rire meant by saying that, it wasn’t until the truth of Rire’s words hit him that he finally realized what was going on. Before Baou got a chance to say anything else, Rire started to scream in pain. Baou heard loud snapping noises coming from within Rire’s body. Blood spurted out from all over his body, coming out from unseen wounds. He then collapsed in a pool of his own blood.
Baou was frozen, speechless at what had just happened. The forest was eerily quiet. Until, laugher began to echo throughout it. The sound of the laughter made Baou’s heart stop in place. His eyes quickly turned toward the still smoking form of Alex.
Alex laughed wickedly at their stupidity. He looked down at Rire and then turned to Baou. “The fool. He used a double edged spell to increase his strength. Then he died, as every muscle and bone in his body shattered. What a shame. I told him I wasn’t being controlled. He should’ve taken my word for it.”
Baou’s eyes widened in shock at Alex’s words. He couldn’t believe it. All they had done, Rire’s sacrifice, it was all for nothing.
Alex walked over Rire’s body and picked up Baou’s spear. He then turned and faced Baou. Without so much as a seconds hesitation, Alex plunged the spear through Baou’s chest, pinning him to the tree he was resting on. Alex looked down at Baou, surprised that the demon could still be alive.
“Stubborn fool,” Alex muttered as he turned to walk away. "Fighting for a cause that will get you no where, only to have your life taken away from you."
“Does that mean, I’m just like you?” Baou said weakly. Wincing in pain as he did so.
Alex froze in his tracks. He looked at his pack which was sitting by the waters edge. He then walked over to it, as if he hadn’t heard Baou’s words. When he turned to leave however, he stopped and picked up three of Rire’s arrows. Without turning around he answered Baou’s question. “No, you are nothing like me. I might be stubborn, but I came back from the dead once before. You can’t!”
Alex tossed the three arrows towards Baou. All three stabbed into his skull, ending Baou’s life. Alex shook his head and turned in the direction of the Central Realm. Already the sun was setting. He had wasted too much time with them.
“It’s going to be dark before I get there. Then again, that might be a good thing. Assassin’s always work in the dark,” Alex said as he threw his pack over his shoulder and started walking toward the Central Realm once more.

Author's Note: Well, at least I let them go down fighting. I wasn't about to do like the stupid director of X3, like he did to Cyclops and kill them off stupidly. I mean, his wife killed him! I'm sorry, ranting here, but I hate how they make a movie about mutants revolve around one mutant...mainly Wolverine. Wolverine gets more action with Cyclops's wife than he does. Cyke was a cool guy and they killed him off stupidly...I still don't think he's dead. Sinister should be in the next one and somehow Scott and Jean should come back.... I do realize I'm completely off subject here, but I had to vent...sorry. Well, catch ya later, please review!
