While Zanatos was still stunned from this recent onslaught, Alex threw him away from him. Alex formed another fireball in his right hand and launched it at Zanatos. The fireball connected with Zanatos’s chest, sending Zanatos up in flames. For a second, Alex thought he had won. But it soon became evident that once more, the victor of this battle had yet to been decided. For even with the flames dancing around his body, Zanatos managed to flip back into a standing position. The flames on his body died, and he was once again ready to fight. His body was nearly burnt to a crisp, but he hadn’t taken nearly a bad a beating as Alex had.
“You are going to die no matter what. So why do you continue to fight? Is it because you have nothing left to live for?” Zanatos asked in a raspy voice.
“No, it is because I do have something for live for that I fight like I do,” Alex replied. He wanted to say more, but he knew he didn’t have much time left. “A monster like you wouldn’t understand the love one can have for others. So let’s end this now!”
The two demons charged at each other. Each one disappearing from sight. When they reappeared, they were standing opposite to each other. Zanatos smirked evilly as he stood.
“Your death, is now guaranteed,” he said with utter confidence. “You weren’t even able to strike out at me.”
Alex smiled, even though he knew what Zanatos was saying was true. He knew that he was already at death’s doorstep. Zanatos had managed to stab through Alex’s chest once more, but Alex had done what he had wanted to.
“I will die here Zanatos, but I have made it to where you will be unable to defeat me,” Alex told him. With that Alex turned around, in his hands were Zanatos’s arms.
The adrenaline rush and surge of power that Zanatos had felt had kept him from even noticing the loss of his limbs. Once he did, however, he couldn’t contain the cry or rage that erupted from his throat. The moment he turned to face Alex, he was sent flying backwards as Alex backhanded Zanatos with his own arms.
Before Zanatos even hit the ground Alex jumped on him. Alex stabbed Zanatos’s arms through his shoulders, pinning him to the ground.
For the first time in their entire battle, Alex knew he had just won by the look of fear on Zanatos’s face.
“I am not long for this world,” Alex whispered. “I will die here, but I’m going to make sure to take you to Hell with me.”
Zanatos didn’t even have a chance to scream before Alex’s hands plunged through his skull.
