Chapter 2: Meet the gang

“I hope you are ready with everything you need before we go to the surface,” said Gaara, one of the Co-teachers. The red-headed youth had the same monotone voice as Seij. Only, Gaara was far more unnerving to Cloud than Seij. Seij actually had normal eyes. Gaara's were a light green, slightly reminding him of the Pink-head whose picture he had seen, and were also pupil-less. It was creepy. He followed Gaara through the caves, looking around every now and then. Crap. This was it. Whatever was up there, he'd be stuck up there. They eventually reached a metal door, which Gaara stared at for a minute, when it slid down. There was a room, full of desks, and a whiteboard. It was standard in any school. There was a door on the other side of the room. But Gaara, eyeing Cloud, said, “Keep following me. It would unfortunate if I lost you.” Cloud gulped and stayed still. “Good Boy.” Gaara, to Cloud's surprise, turned right. He started walking forward, then turned to the wall. As Cloud stepped forward, and the door, the door immediately whooshed down, suddenly creating the illusion that there was never a wall there. Immediately, Cloud understood. He probably would never be down here again. Gaara stepped forward as the wall front of him slid up. Cloud looked around, getting his bearings, noticed an early sign. “Welcome to room 301!” it said. For some, Cloud decided to remember it. He followed Gaara into the next room, was clear from all sides. “Glad you could come sometime this year.” Cloud came in and looked around. He just saw a night sky, some rocks beneath him, and the ocean. Suddenly, the ocean and rocks all began to shrink, and Cloud realized that he stepped into an elevator.

At the top, Cloud stumbled into the clean white corridors. He was scared. He “flew” up so high. He found it really unnerving, and got motion sickness. Gaara just walked passed him and smiled. “Newbie.” Cloud got up slowly. The world was spinning for him. He slowly inhaled and exhaled, slowing down his heart rate. How high up was he? He looked away from the windows. “You're probably hungry. I'll take you to the cafeteria,” Gaara said, then taking out a small sheet of paper, “From there I recommend you get to your room.” Cloud nodded. His stomach groaned. Gaara smiled again, but this time, it actually felt…nice? Maybe these guys weren't so bad.

The cafeteria was enormous! And it had loads of food! Pizza, rice balls, ramen, and…is that a box of peanut butter cups? “Touch those and you die,” said Gaara, still smiling, when he noticed Cloud was looking at the Peanut butter cups.

“Is it all…” said Cloud, not believing it for a second.

“Most of it is free. And as I said, those peanut butter cups, their mine.” Cloud would've leapt in the air, but his ankle was still pretty numb. He shook it a bit. That seemed to slightly ease the pain. He rushed over to the pizza, his eyes slightly wandering to the- WHAM! “I told you not to take the peanut butter cups!” shouted Gaara as prepared to bonk Cloud on the head again. But instead, he let go of Cloud, who snatched his food (leaving the peanut butter cups alone) and sat at one of the ordinary gray cafeteria tables. He took to nursing his head as he ate.

As Cloud neared Room 105, he could hear shouting, and hardcore battle sounds. Maybe my roommates are watching a movie. I should've brought some popcorn. He entered the room, to find two boys, his age, duking it out. Cloud just stood at the door. One of them had yellow hair and dark blue eyes. He had a red aura around him, which looked like it had tails. Cloud could only make out three. The other one, with black, long hair, and seemed even more threatening than the co-teachers, with two huge hands growing out of his back His eyes were golden at the time, when suddenly, someone with pink hair and green eyes, hey wait! That was Haruno, Sakura, or was it the other way? “Naruto! Sasuke! Stop! Please!” she was shouting. Cloud looked at the yellow-haired kid intently, looking at them both, and he could see intent in their eyes, and he immediately knew these kids would kill each other. They were both gathering balls of energy, though black-haired kid's was of lightning, and the yellow-head's was red. Cloud could only watch as they jumped at each other. Sakura was getting between them! If he knew people like this well, they would kill her! Suddenly, another girl pushed past him. Her eyes said she had something to say, but she didn't say so. Maybe she was just shy. But right now, Cloud rushed at the three. He had no hope in catching up to Sakura, and stopping her, but he could catch up in time to stop the boys. Sasuke and Naruto she had called them. He dove in, and punched both of them at the same time. His fists found their mark. Both were thrown away. Sakura tripped and fell, and looked at Cloud. Cloud never knew he could do that. But he didn't stop to gather his thoughts.

“What are you two doing? You nearly killed Haruno!” They both powered down. Then they looked at each other. Then they stared laughing. Cloud's eyes started twitching. What is their problem? Even the girls began grinning with laughter. Huh? Oh shoot! I messed up with the name!

“Don't worry, I made that mistake as well,” came another voice. It was another girl with black hair, only longer. She had brown eyes and wore gloves.

“You see, Sakura is normally called, well, Sakura!” said Yellow-head.

“Yeah, but how do you know her name? This is first time I've seen you around,” said the Black-haired boy.

“Um, I saw her registration paper, so I recognized her.”

“I see,” said Sakura, as he, from now on, called her. “What is your name?

“Cloud.” He was shocked he could find it so easy to talk. He thought he would've been able to talk in front of this girl. She was even more beautiful than the picture showed.

“Well then, this is Sasuke,” she said, motioning towards the Black-haired boy. He nodded in acknowledgement. He was still smiling. “And this is Naruto,” she said pointing at the other boy, who grinned wolfishly, merriment still in his eyes, “Hinata,” the black-haired girl whose hair was short, “and Tifa,” the long-haired girls nodded.

It was all so unclear, whether to trust these kids or not. Most of them were rather, um, strange. They were all good friends, and though both Hinata and Tifa were both outsiders, they seemed comfortable with the others. It was Cloud who was the true outsider. Funny, he never really was popular, but he was just plain ignored. Or maybe he wasn't. He could see signs of a secret they shared. Then he remembered that fight saw. Maybe, those two balls of energy were really, really dangerous. Maybe, these guys could shut down the school, and save them from becoming these, well, co-teacher-like things. He gulped. He was lying on the bed, looking around. They were talking about something. But what? He frowned. I'm about as scared as they could possibly. “Alright,” he shouted at them. “I know you guys are planning something! And I want to know what it is!” The others glared at him. Even Naruto looked serious.
