Chapter 4: Home; Unbeatable Assassin

Beatrix smiled, she had just arrived on time. The sun was rising and that was when the vampires were most vulnerable. A two days run and they had finally landed on the last resistance clan, on Bikanel Island. Unfortunately for the vampires, Bikanel Isaland was on the outskirts of Spira and was also known for the sun and heat, also Beatrix did not understand why some undead creature would want to live next to their weakness, but she didn't care. She only cared for her orders, no matter if anything got in her way.

"Move out troops," Beatrix ordered. As she said that the lycan behind her grinned and loaded all of their weapons. Beatrix could see in the distance the light moon, but to her unsatisfactory, the moon was waning meaning the lycans was losing their power day by day. Yet again Beatrix did not shudder, for she was the greatest assassin known in all the worlds.

"Yes ma'am," They all replied, they all the followed out, one by one, into the fortress ahead of them.

"Wait Freya Crescent," Beatirx said extending her hand up front of a warrior. The warrior came to a stop and walked out of the rushing group of lycans.

"What Beatrix?" Freya answered with hint of annoyance in her voice. Freya was not like regular Lycans, actually she was a certian kind of lycan, she was a Burmican Lycan meaning that her true self and human looking self were mixed, unlike the Ronso who are mixes of vampire and lycan. Freya wore red armor, a red hat to cover her eyes, and held a long lance by her side. Freya was also one of the lycans who wasn't a warrior by force, but by choice. So unlike her comrades Freya hated Beatrix, not like others who hated her because they were forced to fight, but for their pasts. Freya, was the last of her kind, and Beatrix was the one who exterminated them and her homeland.

"Freya, go back to the castle and tell the lord we are as planned," That was not a question, it was an order. Beatrix then fished from her pocket a materia and threw it to the woman.

"... fine," Freya hesitated grabbing the small gem.

"With haste," Beatrix glared. Freya nodded and leaped far into the distance with pure speed.

-------

"Lulu!" Tifa yelled as she ran out of a group of guard watchers, "Get Yuna to a safe place!" Tifa yelled to her sister in the distance. By the tone of her voice, everyone knew what was coming. Lulu nodded and quickly walked towards the priestess headquarters. Tifa growled, she would have to leave her station to tell the rest of the vampire the lycans were invading. As the fighter ran, the front garage like door opened with sunlight and lycans running in. Tifa knew that if the lycans were to win, they'd take Yuna and the others captive and they would win the war, but that was only if they won.

-------

After a few minutes of watching vampires being incinerated, Beatrix slowly walked into the fortress and made her way through the dead vampires, and with her calculations only about two thirds were left.

In the distance Beatrix spotted a large red headed man, one of her best fighters, next to Freya. "Amarant Coral," Beatrix called out. The one known as Amarant Coral finished breaking a vampires neck and then faced towards his commanding officer.

"We couldn't find her in the east wing, we're checking the south end now," Amarant reported with an icy voice. He too, next to Freya, disliked the assassin but he also held respect for the woman.

"Very well, catch up to Freya and report with her to Lord Chaos's manor," Beatrix nodded. Amarant nodded in return and began to sprint, for he had two time materia with him. Beatrix very well knew Freya and Amarant did not like each other, for she knew that Amarant was arrogant and Freya was the best. As she saw the blue skinned warrior sprint off Beatrix remiensced in her past.

-------

Steiner dismissed himself making loud boisterous noises with his old, rusty armor, for he was also given orders to cover more ground with his troop, the Pluto Knights.

Beatrix inwardly smiled by his clumsiness but dismissed that feeling. Beatrix then lifted her head up from her bowing position and looked at her general, which should have been her place, and asked for what purpose she was needed. "General?" Beatrix asked. The general looked down at Beatrix with his good eye and nodded.

"Yes?"

"Why did you summon me?" Beatrix asked getting up from her bowing position.

"You are to take upon another mission. You, being our best assassin, is to kill all the vampires who have fought against us for years,"

"We have not found their hide out," Beatrix stated.

"It is in the Bikanel Island," He stated casually as if everyone should have known where it was. "And you are to also kill a woman by the name of Yuna,"

"I heard that the Maester of the vampire's was to wed a woman by the name of Yunaleasca, if I kill her then the Guado will surely be our enemy,"

"I shall deal with Seymour if he has objections, for she is not to be used in any way," With that he dismissed her. Beatrix about faced her higher commander and walked into the distance to ready her troops. As Beatrix left she heard that the prisoner was to be escorted to his highness, but Beatrix did not care, for she was to carry out her mission ten fold.

-------

Lulu was in full sprint, running to the priestess sanctum in the lower part of the building. Every time she met up with a lycan, or two, she would cast a fira spell and be on her way. After minutes of running, and hearing deadly screams, Lulu reached the door to her destination. With great strength Lulu pushed the grand doors open and entered.

"Lulu!" Lulu heard someone scream. It was none other than Yuna. At her tone of voice Lulu raised her hand, her moogle following, and looked for danger. Yuna was none other with company.

"Yuna," Lulu smiled to the half-ling, for Lulu only smiled for her dearest sister-like friend. Yuna had bipolar eyes, one green and one blue, short flat, brown hair, wearing her normal priestess outfit from Wutai, and wore a sliver chained necklace bringing out her pale like face. Yuna smiled over to her childhood friend indicating there was no danger. At that Lulu dropped some of guard and walked carefully over to Yuna. The person next to her was a tan man, lycan nor vampire, he had blonde hair that flared out, wore a weird looking outfit, black shorts-overalls that were not the same length and a yellow open shirt that revealed his tanned abs.

"I have made a decision," Yuna said out of the blue as Lulu took her spot by her. Lulu gave Yuna a confused glance and motioned her to continue, for she knew the decision had to deal with the marriage proposal. "I will go with this man to Gaia,"

"Yuna, are you sure?" Lulu questioned glancing at the young boy.

"Yes, I heard from Tifa that there was a human world pass underground and I decided to go,"

"Very well, I will take you to the Gargant,"

"It's okay Lulu, I'm going with this man, he'll take me,"

With hesitation Lulu complied, "As long as you're safe," Before Lulu was about to leave Yuna tapped her shoulder.

"Lulu, tell Rikku when you see her I'm okay and don't look for me," Yuna then followed the already leaving man and Lulu went off her way. After Lulu left the large decorated room Lulu saw that there were many fiends and lycans roaming and no vampires, not to mention fire almost everywhere. Lulu summoned a powerful ice spell and the whole hallway became frozen, freezing everyone in its path. With a sigh, Lulu walked down the hallway and then to another part of the wing. The vampire mage was about to climb the stairs when a lycan bumped into her.

"Ah, I'm sorry!" The young, red haired lycan exclaimed as he fell onto the ground. After a second of regained her composure, Lulu bent down and grabbed her fallen moogle connecting eyes with the lycan. "A vampire!" He exclaimed instantly standing up and away. After picking up her moogle Lulu raised her hand and was about to call for a spell when the man brought up a gun. "Don't move, ya. I don't usually hit girls, but it's orders... unless you can tell me something,"

Lulu looked at the gun and noticed that it was a special gun, amo made of sunlight. Lulu then slowly brought her hand down, moogle following her movement, and allowed the lycan to continue. "What is your name?" Lulu asked. Not in her right mind would she ask for the enemy's name, but it seemed proper at the time.

"Uh, Chappu... Chappu Auroch, and yours?" Chappu smiled. Lulu was taken aback but nodded slowly, keeping her scowl on.

"Lulu Lockhart," Lulu answered coldly. "What question is this, Chappu?"

"Have you seen a priestess by the name of... Tuna?" Chappu stuttered. Lulu would have laughed at his child like manner but unlike her sister, she had no such emotion, but all in all knew what he meant.

"No," She replied with no hint of anything but ice in her voice. Chappu lowered the gun and grinned.

"You should warm up, ya," And with that he continued down the hall, tripping on his way down. Lulu let out a small chuckle at his doings and then continued onward.

((Warm up?)) Lulu thought. "He's a weird one," Lulu then ran to where her sister was moments ago but saw no one but death and blood. Lulu glared at the sight and looked around. After her attempt Lulu shut her red eyes and sensed the rooms around her. ((She's in the back)) Lulu concluded. Lulu then began to run down stairs again and make her way from the front to the back, hearing sword clashing sounds. She instantly knew who they were.

Beatrix smirked, everywhere she looked there was pyroflies of mostly vampires everywhere, she knew they had won. Beatrix looked up at the sky and noticed the clouds covering the bright sun, with a frown she turned around to the entrance as fist hurled onto her cheek. Beatrix, taken by surprise, instantly was knocked back and fell onto the bloodied sand.

Tifa shook her right fist and grinned, she had just nailed one of the lycans best fighters, their assassin at that. But Tifa wasn't that cocky since she had been trained by the best and never celebrated before winning.

"Hn, you caught me off guard, that won't happen again," Beatrix stated wiping blood from her lip. Tifa narrowed her eyes and watched as the woman in white armor slowly rise up.

"Why are you here?" Tifa asked getting into her fighting position.

"That is for mine and my lords knowledge," The blonde answered.

"Well I'm sorry, but you can't hurt anymore innocent vampires anymore, prepare yourself," At this Beatrix laughed and flipped one of her blonde curls. Tifa then charged at Beatrix, hand balled into a fist, and gave her a right hook punch. With ease Beartix evaded the attack. Tifa then kicked her long, left leg up and tried to kick her, but Beartix just brushed it aside, this also happened with her right leg. Finally after a few more similar hits Tifa gave a mighty combo attack making Beatrix lose her balance, but only for a short few seconds.

"Heh, this is going no where, and fast," Beatrix stated as she watched the fighter breathe deeply. "I'll take the lead,"

Beatrix the raised her large gloved hand and punched Tifa strait into her gut making her bend downwards, the blonde then rose her knee, kneeing Tifa's face making her fly backwards. At this attack Tifa coughed up blood from her mouth and nose.

Struggling to get up, Tifa crouched down onto the floor extending her long leg and swirled around, tripping the assassin. With a loud thud of armor Beatrix fell flat on her back. "You... who are you?" Beatrix asked pulling herself together again.

"The greatest fist fighter of the vampire race, Tifana Love Lockhart,"

"Tifana... you seem like a good fighter, and I'm sorry you have to die... I will remember your name,"

Tifa scowled at Beatrix attitude and raised her hands in a defensive-offensive form. Beatrix met eyes with the vampire fighter and unsheathed her large sword and in less of a blink of an eye Tifa was on the floor with a deep, long cut across her belly. As soon as Tifa noticed the almost mortal wound thick, dark clouds replaced the sun and rain drops fell, like angels crying in the desert plain. Being halfway outside, the rain poured onto Beatrix's white armor, cleaning the blood on it. Tifa leaned on the back wall of the fortress and looked up to the roof above her. Walking slowly toward the vampire, Beatrix's mouth began to curl up raising her sword for the final blow. Beatrix then lowered her sword to Tifa's low head and swung.

Tifa instantly closed her eyes as she saw the glint of the sword come towards her, yet it did not hit her. Tifa heard a loud clanking sound and opened her eyes to see who her savior was from her decapitation. All she saw was a very large sword covered in bandages. Tifa's dark red eyes followed the sword to find it connected to one hand and a claw. Traveling up further, Tifa saw a short red cape and a blue outfit underneath it. It was none other than a man, he had distant green-blue eyes and blonde spiked up hair, but Tifa could not see the bottom half of his face due to the cape covering it.

"Tifa, are you all right?" He asked in a deep, calm voice. He then swung his large sword again making Beatrix's sword fall into the wet sand next to them.

"Cloud... I never thought... you would come back..." Tifa managed to say, still covering her deadly wound. Cloud took his eyes off Beatrix and glanced at his childhood friend with slight worry. After another breath Tifa passed out.

Cloud tore his gaze from Tifa and rose his sword up to the assassin. "Who are you and what is your business here?" Cloud asked calmly.

"Heh, I once killed a hundred knights single handedly..." Suddenly Lulu ran into view and next to Cloud, moogle readied, "to me, you two are nothing more than insects,"

"Cloud, this person is one of the lycan's best killers, what she said was true," Lulu glared at the swordless assassin, "Lycan's invaded, they were looking for Yuna," At this Cloud shuffled and grabbed tighter onto his sword.

"Damn, then it has begun," Cloud cursed glaring at Beatrix harder. Lulu tore her eyes from Beatrix and gave Cloud a confused look.

"What has?" At this Beatrix smirked and reached for her sword, but Cloud noted this and kicked the sword father away and pointed his weapon directly at her heart. Lulu saw her motivations and summoned a huge ice attack, Beatrix back flipped away from Cloud's weapon and saw the incoming attack. The woman then took out a green materia and called forth a reflect.

The magic attack bounced back towards the two warriors making Lulu call a firaga to cancel it out. "The grand summoning," Cloud stated.

-------

"This is Rikku," Zidane smirked as he and Rikku walked inside the flying ship. Rikku saw a bunch of people inside and smiled at her introductions. "Cinna, don't get any ideas," The half-lycan winked. At this Rikku waved and followed Zidane's lead.

"Zidane, how could you think of me in that way?" A man who was sitting on a chair, now known as Cinna, replied.

"Hey, hey now, no fighting over me," Rikku winked. Everyone in the room let out a small laugh at Rikku's joke except for Cinna and Zidane.

"Yeah boys," A red haired man said coming out from the shadows beside Rikku and Zidane.

"Blank, nice to finally see you outta that corner with Ruby, eh?" Zidane grinned as he watched a small blush creep up onto the man's face. As soon as Zidane was going to open his mouth a large stack of paper flew from the corner Blank came from and landed directly onto his mouth.

"Zidane, you ain't gonna be in my play anymo'," A southern like accent rang out. Rikku looked to where the origin of the voice was and saw a blonde haired woman emerge from the dark. At this Rikku grinned diverting her gaze back to the tailed man. After Zidane fixed himself up he lightly grabbed Rikku's hand and motioned her out of the room.

"Rikku, I want you to meet the boss," Zidane smirked. Rikku nodded and followed with their hands still intact. After the two left the room and shut the door, Zidane pointed up stairs. Rikku got the idea, slightly blushing, and let go of his hand. "Oh, um, sorry," Zidane whispered.

"ZIDANE! IS THAT YOU?" A gruff voice called from up the stairs. Zidane and Rikku covered their ears and ran upstairs.

"Yeah boss, it's me," Zidane replied as he and Rikku entered the second floor. The second floor was plan, there was a small hallway, where the rooms were, connected to a large open space with a small spiral stair case in the back. After the room was then another hallway with more rooms. Zidane and Rikku were in the open area. On the stairs, leading to what Rikku presumed the captain's room, was a plump man.

"What's the meaning of this? A vampire?" He stated. Rikku felt as if she could shrink at his words.

((I guess many people in Gaia know about vampires...)) Rikku thought.

"Baku, boss, heh, she needs a ride to the Farplane, but she also asked if we could drop her off by the Alexandrian Castle," Zidane stated. Baku, or the boss, stopped midway on the spiral stairs and glared at his underclassman. "She also knows the Queen," At that Baku smirked. Rikku cocked her head to the side and gave both the men a confused look.

"A royal, eh?" Baku answered. Rikku smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, I'm the princess--" Rikku instantly stopped. Zidane and Baku dismissed her words and nodded.

"Heh, okay Zidane, we'll drop her off but this means you have double duty on cleaning and cooking," Baku ordered. "I can't stand having another day of Ruby's burnt special," Baku shuddered. At that Zidane gulped and nodded.

"I CAN HEAR Y'ALL!" Ruby yelled from downstairs. Baku then continued down the stairs and past the blonde couples, leaving them alone.

"You're going to help me tonight since ya got me into this mess," Zidane whispered. Rikku smiled and faced fully towards the young half breed.

"I'll be long gone by then," Rikku winked.

"I don't think so," Zidane grinned back. With that Rikku sweat dropped.

-------

((Chaos' castle is here? But it was lost! I even tried looking for it!)) Yuffie thought as she continued down the hallway, knocking out, and stealing from lycans as she saw them. These knights have been after Yuffie for a long time and they still haven't caught her making Yuffe grin inside, for if she was caught again they'd put her back inside the cell again with the 'mirror of mistakes'.

Just ahead of her Yuffie saw the jackpot, two large doors leading to the exit, or she hoped. If she could just get their before the sun would reach the plains she would be safe, but before her hand even slightly touched the door a gun fire shot out stopping the ninja in her tracks. The loud bang echoed in the empty hallway making Yuffie retreat her hands and cover her sensitive ears.

"I would not go out there if I were you," A familiar voice rang out making Yuffie take her hands off of her ears, "Behind those doors is a large plain, it would take a whole night and day to cross them in your condition, and even if so, you would not make it down to the plains on your own,"

"You!" Yuffie yelled. The vampire then spun around to see if her guess was right, and it was, for it was her toughest adversary, Vincent. "Alwright, lets finish this, you, me, right now!" Yuffie growled putting her hands up into fists. "You might have cheated last time but you won't cheat this time! I'll win!"

"I did not cheat, you merely fell," Vincent replied, referring to the Zanarkand fight, still not letting his gun fall from its place. "Now, come with me, if you will before I do something you and I might regret,"

"I won't regret anything I do to you," Yuffie replied stubbornly.

"Then--"

The doors behind Yuffie opened revealing two soldiers. It was a woman-like lycan and a blue colored man with a mane of red. At the sudden shock Yuffie fell flat on her butt and stared in awe.

"Amarant shut up!" The woman in red armor yelled.

"Freya," He replied in a not caring voice. But Yuffie didn't fall down because of the two in front of her, she fell down because at that second the sun rose up with the doors wide open.

Who is it Today?

It's ... ... Tifa and Lulu Lockhart!

"Whenever I'm in trouble, my hero will come and rescue me."

-Tifa Lockhart

"You truly are clueless. Are you sure it's just your memory that's the problem?"

-Lulu
