Final Fantasy - All Series Fan Fiction ❯ The Heroes of the World ❯ Chapter 4 ( Chapter 4 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Disclaimer: Do they actually even spend time looking at each and every fanfic to see if they have a disclaimer? They do? Greedy sons of……! Anyways, I don't own final fantasy or Square-Enix.

Thank you Major-Lauren-Carter 4 reviewing! And Brutal2003! At least you like it. If anyone else actually reads this and thinks it good or whatever, plz write a review. All it has to be is `Nice fic!' or something.

Here is FF7! Think what they look like in FF7: Advent Children, it's more realistic that way.

It had been 5 months since all 8 of them defeated Sephiroth and destroyed Meteor with Holy. Three months since Cloud walked out on Barret and Tifa to try and find himself. He needed to think alone, be alone, away from the loud construction of Midgar, away from her. Most of his thoughts ended up with the conclusion of her. He thought that Aerith would be the one to steal his heart, but someone else did a long time ago. He finally noticed when he saw the rock crumble and her fall before he caught her.

Cloud was shaken from his thoughts when he saw a movement in a nearby bush. He drew his Ragnarok from its sheath and took his battle stance. Out pounced a Blood Taste with teeth bared and hind legs poised to spring once he moved. Blood Tastes have no weakness and are immune to all effects, Cloud thought, remembering the army lectures, better to fight melee than risk open attack using materia. Cloud waited a few moments before running top speed at it. The Blood Taste sprung at his chest. Before the creature got anywhere close Cloud swung his sword in an arc and cut it in half. Not wanting to have any other creatures smell the fresh scent of a dead body, he used Fire 3 on it.

Fighting brought back memories of all of them fighting random creatures on their journey. Wonder how everyone is now, probably helping out with Midgar or living peacefully. I know Red XIII is living back at Cosmo Canyon, and Yuffie is at Wutai. Wonder where Vincent is. Probably trying to find himself too. I can also guess that Cid is back working on space travel. Who knows about Cait Sith, we didn't even actually know Reeve.

“I actually miss them,” He thought out loud, “Maybe I should go back. I know who I am. I'm Cloud Strife. I might be a clone, but I grew up to be me. I know what I want now.” With that, he started on the path back to Midgar.

“Barrett, could you give me a hand?” Tifa asked while trying to move a broken steel beam.

“Sure, then I can have two guns instead of one.” He walked over to her.

“Very funny, Barrett.” She said while rolling her eyes. “On three lift, one, two, three,” They both pushed. The steel beam was pushed back until it hit the wall with a loud clang. “There, that should be enough work for today.” She looked up at the night sky. Thousands of little stars twinkled brightly against the dark sky.

Barret looked up too. “Good not to see a huge ball of fire hurtling at us isn't it?” The simple question made her think of Cloud. Why did he leave? He didn't even say good-bye.
The sky made her think of the night Cloud made his promise. Maybe if I get into a bad predicament he'll come back. She half-smiled and shook her head. Since when was I the flirtatious damsel in distress waiting for a handsome prince to rescue her? “Ya, it is.” She finally answered

Barrett looked over and raised an eyebrow. “I'd best be goin back to Marlene. It's just about time for her to go to bed.” Tifa nodded her head.

Tifa didn't even notice Barrett chuckle and walk away; she was too interested one specific twinkle in the sky. It looked…larger than the rest. She was so entranced by it she didn't notice someone walk up to her. “Something interesting, my dear?” She jumped a little and turned to see a rather old man in a peculiar green outfit and a ridiculously looking hat. His voice was fit for telling long boring lectures of 30 years past. His posture was bent from old age but his eyes were filled with knowledge and a yearning to learn even more.

“Uhh, well no, just looking at the sky.” Hopefully if she didn't say too much he wouldn't lecture she hoped.

“Ahhh, yes, the stars tell us much about our planet.” He looked at the remains of Sector 7. “This reminds me of another city laid to ruins. Do you know what that city was called?”

Tifa was surprised by the question. “Nibelheim?”

“No, no, though you probably have never heard of it. Would you like to hear about it?” Tifa nodded her head. He cleared his throat and started. “Let's see, the city was very advanced. Yes, the city was a regular late night party city. Events were played there at the dead of night. With all the technology, people sinned more and more.”

“A war was started. The enemy outnumbered the city's army 5 to 1. Not only that but they had much more advanced weapons. One weapon so powerful it could destroy the whole city. Hmmm, what was the name again?”

The old man put up a hand to his chin, apparently in deep thought. “Hmmmmm, yes, where was I again?” He asked.

Tifa gave him a confused look but answered anyway. “The mission could destroy a whole city?”

“Awwww yes, forgive me, I'm afraid age has a tendency to make me forget things. Well, let's see…., the city though was still lively without a care in the world. On one night a huge monster came. It destroyed the city and everyone in it. Some say it came because we depended on machines too much. Others say because we never atoned for our sins. But that was long ago. There is more meaning than that though. But that is another story for another day.” He looked up at the sky. “And, sad to say, that day is coming closer with every second.”

Tifa looked up at the sky too. The star she was looking at before now looked twice as big as before. It came closer and closer until a definite shape could be seen. The creature came to a halt in the sky and roared. Bahamut?
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Cloud could see Midgar coming into view. He was riding his motorcycle he stole from Shinra. Midgar, I can't wait to get back. He was five miles away from Midgar when he heard an ear-splitting scream. Cloud hit the brakes on his motorcycle and skidded sideways. Up in the air he saw a summoned Bahamut. Except this Bahamut seemed to have a mind of its own, not just doing one powerful move for its summoner. And unlike all the other Bahamuts it wasn't all one color. Its wings were a rainbow of different colors. It appeared to be charging up for an attack. Cloud immediately rode on towards Midgar at top speed, drawing his Ragnarok in case he had to hack down any monsters that would slow him down.

He stopped at the gates of Midgar and took out his key. Once the doors were open he immediately hopped back on his bike and rode through sector 5 and 6. During the time it took to get to Sector 7, the Bahamut was now fully charged. Looking closer Cloud spotted some sort of a wheel on its back, spinning rapidly. It opened its mouth even larger and shot an energy ray from its mouth. The energy wave went through Sectors 3 through 5 until finally dieing down. He changed his point of view to the road ahead of him. Tifa was standing not to far from him, looking up at the Bahamut.

“Tifa!” Cloud shouted, hoping to get her attention over the roar of his motorcycle and the sound of collapsing buildings. Tifa seemed unaware of his shouts. “Tifa!” Cloud shouted louder. Tifa looked away from the Bahamut and gaped at Cloud.

The Bahamut was once again powering up, ready to finish off the remaining sectors. “Tifa! Give me your hand!” He slowed his bike down a few notches, grabbed her hand and swinging her onto his bike. He pulled her on just as Bahamut opened his jaws wide and let loose his ultimate attack, Mega Flare.
