The Life of Erin Tribal

Chapter 20

Everyone nodded their head in agreement, and the groups were made. Locke and Erin stuck together to make one of the groups. Terra, Sabin, and Gau were in the second group. Celes, Cyan, and Edgar made up the third group. They took places in the first three paths that were available and still not letting anyone through.

Even though there was only two in the group, Erin and Locke had started to form such a strong bond that they were practically invincible. Eventually, Celes' group made it up to Kefka. The other two groups blocked the two paths out to make sure nothing got through. Finally, Kefka fled and they declared a small victory.

Everyone climbed up the rest of the way. On a small ledge, they found a frozen Esper. Terra stepped forward and started to get all weird and stuff. She started to flash to a bubble gum color, and suddenly flew away. Erin started to run forward, but a pair of strong hands stopped her and picked her up. She looked around and saw Sabin holding her.

The group started talking, trying to decide what to do. Erin was still trying to get loose of Sabin's grip, but after about 10 minutes, she gave up. He let her go, but kept a close eye on her. "Why do I have to be the smallest here?" Erin murmured to herself.

Finally, they decided. Banon would go and find a safe place to hide. The rest of them would head off to find Terra. They started to argue again about who would go.

"Why don't we mix power and magic to have a balanced team?" suggested Erin, "Say maybe, Celes, Locke, Sabin, Cyan, and me?"

Everyone looked down at the 6-year-old sitting in the snow. Celes smiled slightly.

"It's decided than. Thank you, Erin. Locke, Sabin, Cyan, Erin, and myself will go and find Terra in a main group. The rest of you, I guess, stick together," Celes stated, looking at Edgar and Gau as she finished.

"Bye, Mr. Thou!" Gau said.

Cyan started to get angry. "Don't call me that!" he exclaimed, looking at Gau.

Erin started to giggle to herself, but quickly gained back her composure. She got up with the help of Locke and Celes. Edgar was grumbling to himself, saying something that sounded like, "Why do I have to baby-sit this wild kid!" Erin giggled to herself.

Cyan, Locke, Celes, Sabin, and Erin all headed out of Narshe and started to head towards Figaro. That was because it was the closest place to them, plus they might find out some stuff about Terra there.

Any enemies they encountered went down easily, but not before Locke stole from them. Celes was proving to be a valuable asset to the party because she could heal them. Sabin was using his Blitz's to easily take down some of the tougher enemies. Erin never did pay much attention to Cyan.

They eventually reached the scorching deserts of Figaro. Erin sighed, hoping that they could get to Figaro before anything serious happened between them. She was getting extremely tired and needed a bed to just collapse in.

They walked through the desert, Erin finding absolutely no relief from the heat. Celes and Locke were arguing about every little thing, no matter what it concerned. Erin had tried to keep track of the number of times Locke and Celes argued, but after about their 20th argument, Erin just gave up. Sabin stayed silent, as did Cyan. The two of them just watched what the others were doing.

Eventually, they reached the gates of Figaro Castle. The guards immediately recognized Sabin and allowed him to pass. They headed back towards the throne room to find Edgar had beat them there, and that he had given up trying to control Gau. Gau was running wild throughout the castle doing who knows what. Erin giggled to herself, imagining just what Gau might be doing.

"Let rest for tonight. Why don't we head over to Kohlingen to find out some information on Terra," Edgar suggested.

"I agree. I'm tired, and I just need somewhere to collapse for now," Erin stated.

So it was settled. Guards led everyone to their rooms, dropping off Erin and Celes last. Erin went over to her bed, sat on it for a minute, and then lay down to a comfortable bed. Celes watched her daughter, then one who had risked her life to save her back in Narshe, sleep soundly, or so she thought.
