The Life of Erin Tribal
Chapter 23
~~
A/N: Long-time-no-update! A whole month to be exact! Anyways, I finally finished the .hack//Infection game a few weeks ago, and am eagerly awaiting the release of the next one end of next week (May 9). Anyway, I've finally started up on my FF8 fic, After the End, so make sure you go check it out!
By now, I'm sure you want to read the chapter! So, here it is!
~~
"Go ahead, lead the way," Erin stated.
Locke headed towards the back of the town with the others close behind. He stopped in front of a house and opened the door. He walked in, followed by Erin, Celes, Cyan, Sabin, Edgar, and Gau. Erin looked around the room, and noticed that it was extremely small. Locke went downstairs, still followed by the others.
An older man looked up and gasped in shock. "Locke!"
"Yes, it's me. I wish to see Rachal," Locke stated.
The man stared at him in disbelief, then slowly nodded his head. "Of course."
Locke walked past the man; the rest came off the stairs and circled around him. Erin took one look at Rachal and gasped in shook.
There lay a girl, not moving one inch. She didn't even look to be breathing. The only thing that seemed to be keeping her alive was magic, and a lot of it. Locke grabbed Rachal's hand and started to cry.
Erin looked at her mom, the tapped her leg. Celes looked down at Erin, and immediately knew what she was thinking, even before Erin said it.
"Let's leave him be for," Erin said, and then started to leave the downstairs portion of the house. Everyone else slowly followed her up.
"Poor Locke," Erin stated as soon as they were all upstairs.
"Yeah…" Celes replied.
`Why does he have to be put through such an ordeal. She must have been very special to him, like a girlfriend or something,' Erin thought.
She heard slow footsteps coming up the stairs, then a blue bandana appeared, followed by Locke himself. He was trying to wipe away his tears.
"Locke, I'm really sorry about Rachel," Erin said, trying to comfort him.
"Thanks," he replied.
They all started to leave. Locke took one last glance back downstairs, then followed the rest of the group.
"Ok, I don't think we'll make it down to Jidoor before dark. So, why don't we stay at the inn for the night? Is that okay with everyone?" Celes suggested.
The rest of them nodded in unison.
The innkeeper looked up as the group entered.
"Seven?" he asked.
"Yes please," replied Erin.
"200 GP," the innkeeper stated.
Edgar handed over the money, and they headed back to their room.
Locke immediately fell down onto one of the beds and tried to get to sleep. Erin soon followed, choosing a bed near the back of the room. She sat down on it, pulling off her shoes. She watched as the others soon picked out their beds. Celes picked the one next to Erin, and Locke was already in the bed next to Celes. Edgar choose the one across from Locke, Sabin went next to Edgar, and Gau took the remaining one across from Erin.
Erin lay down on her bed and stared up the ceiling. Her mind started to wander to that dream she had had that morning.
`Who are Harry and Relm? Were they killed? Are they still there? Why aren't they were with me?' questions just came pouring into Erin's head.
With all the questions flooding into her head, she soon fell into a deep sleep, even though it was still early afternoon.

A/N: Yes, I'm back so soon, and yes, this chapter IS short! That's cause I wanted the sleep to end the chapter. Plus, the questions lingering in her head leave it… Different. I was thinking, if you've read this far in the story, you (are) either:
a) extremely bored
b) you really like the story
I'm hoping it's the latter of the two. Anyway… Please Review! That's what inspires me to write more!
