The Life of Erin Tribal Chapter 24

~~

A/N: Ack, I'm getting worse and worse at updating this... Well, maybe not. But, I've finished After the End since I last posted, and started another story called Complications. Well, I'm going to try and pry ideas out of my mind so that I can try and get to the Opera scene before June starts next week, which might be hard, as that part of the game is fuzzy for me. I mean, between Zozo and Opera... Well, anyways, I have the guide, so hopefully no problems.

Oh yeah, I got .hack//Mutation and am loving it. Just one problem: I can't beat the final boss! I started another game of it, and hopefully it'll be better.

Onto the chapter!

Disclaimer: Square owns Final Fantasy, and I own original ideas.

Amazingly enough, Erin had a dreamless sleep and was asleep until Celes woke her up.

"Erin, come on!"

"I'm up, I'm up," Erin grumbled, getting up.

"Finally," Sabin mumbled.

Erin looked and him and sighed. `Whatever...'

The group headed out of the inn and started out of the town.

"This is going to be a long day," Erin commented to no one in particular, just as they ran into a group of monsters.

"Easy," Sabin commented, and ran forward as he executed an attack that he called `Fire Dance'.

The monsters went down easily and they trekked forward. The rest of the day was pretty much the same; they stopped for a bit of lunch, and then pressed forward again.

They were lucky and made it to Jidoor before nightfall. They got a room for the night and went in to get some rest.

"Erin, you seem to be improving," Sabin commented.

"With what?" Erin asked.

"With your sword abilities. I have a feeling that you were born to wield the sword. Or you are just really lucky with it," Sabin explained.

`I vote for the second one,' Erin thought.

"I'm probably just lucky," Erin stated, not wanting to say what else she was thinking.

`But I'm best with a staff of some sort,' she mentally finished.

"Well, good night all," Locke stated, lying down in the bed he had claimed.

Erin lied down on the farthest bed from the door and fell asleep. This night, she wasn't so lucky.

Erin blinked a few times as she found herself in a strange room. She had no idea where she was. When she looked down, she seemed to be about a year or two old. Thing was, she seemed really advanced to be a two year old, or even a one year old.

"Erin! Come over here and play!" yelled a young voice.

`Don't,' said a voice.

She looked around and saw an older man walking into the room.

"Erin Marie Tribal. Why do you hide you true family?" the man asked.

Erin looked down again to find that she was the same six-year-old that she had been when she went to sleep.

"They can't see you," the man said, pointing over to the kids playing.

"Why's that?" Erin asked.

"Because the younger you is already there. My name is Garland," the man stated.

"How'd you know I was thinking that!" Erin demanded.

"I can read your thoughts. Now, wake up, your `friends' are waiting for you," Garland said, before pushing Erin down, "You've seen too much, it's too early for your return."

"For my return? What?" the girl asked, but got no reply as the man left her just as she hit the floor.

Erin's eye's shot open to find herself to be the first awake. She figured it was about 8 in the morning, and they should be awake.

There was a moan from Celes' bed. She watched as her mom got up and looked around.

"Well, look who is up early," the woman commented, getting up from the bed.

"Yeah, I'm awake," Erin replied as Celes sat down on her bed.

"Hey, is something wrong?" she asked.

"No, of course not!" Erin replied.

"I'm not so convinced by that," Celes stated, brushing back a lock of Erin's hair.

"I'm sure!" Erin replied, brushing back her hair with her hands. "I'm taking a quick bath before everyone gets up."

"Alright then, but please tell me if anything at all is wrong," Celes said, a hint of worry in her voice.

"Yes, I know mom," Erin replied, walking into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.

A/N: Kinda short, I know, but what do you expect, I have absolutely no motivation right now. Well, except to write this one FF9 part, but that's later on in the story. Anyway, hopefully I'll update soon. Hopefully.

Please do review! Please? Pretty please? With sugar on top? Okay, I'm probably sounding like a whining kid, but I want some reviews to know how I'm doing!
