He was thrown, tossed out on the side of the road like some rubbish. His Master was disowning him! He struggled to kneel before his Master. “Master Akito, please! Have mercy, anything, I’ll do anything!” He begged the other.

He was kicked hard several times in his stomach, already sore from earlier beatings. He was shivering, fresh tears started to fall from his eyes. “You dirty hoar.” The other growled, he held the other’s arm firmly, before tossing the poor boy into a tree.

Blood now splayed out everywhere, across the dirt path that led up to what had of five years prior been this slave’s home. “Gomen, Master! Please! Mercy on me, please!” The other was cowering, crying and trembling greatly.

He was again knocked into a tree, before being hefted up by the collar of his kimono, and tossed to the hard packed ground. He struggled to get up, his small frame not able to move barely. “You are disowned by me, I wish to never see your face near me again!” The other shouted.

The boy let out a couple ragged breaths as his former Master choked him, until he passed out cold. He fell into a whirl of darkness. It’d been a long time since he’d felt so helpless, the first time was after his Master fed him some strange foods, they tasted funny. And he’d forgotten things after eating them… He didn’t remember his past very well, everything was a blur after the time he’d spent with his Master. Tears streaked his eyes without his knowing as he lay unconscious and barely holding onto life in the middle of the path as his former Master turned and left him there to die.

Kyou was walking home from school, thinking on how quite and well… Saddened things had gotten around the house. At first there was hope of his returning, not that Kyou really cared much. But, after a year or two, Kyou was given Yuki’s room, along with his belongings. Though, they had never known what had truly happened to the rat, he still wished that things could turn out okay. Because, slowly, but surely the cat truly started to miss his distant cousin very much so. Sometimes he’d punch a picture of the other out of frustration at Yuki for his not coming back safely. They had the police contacted and searching for the past two years and just last week it had been called off. JUST LAST WEEK! He was so pissed off at everyone who was just letting this go! But, today he was taking his time walking home, since he had no one to walk with anymore since everyone had work, and Yuki wasn’t here to walk with him either. Kyou sighed as he trudged down the roadside, hiking his way home. Taking every scenic route to avoid heading directly home, but still. It was on the pathway towards home that he tripped, over a lump on the ground and hit the ground. Hard. He sat up slowly, gathered his things and turned around to see what he’d fallen over. He dropped everything again in shock. “Oh… My… God…” He uttered, moving forward.

There, lying on the ground of hard packed earth lay a dirty and bleeding Yuki in a once splendid blue and purple kimono. He blinked as he noted how it had been torn and bloodied. Yuki definitely hadn’t done this to himself and there were only a small handful to ever beat him at that sort of fight before. He shook his head, trying to straighten out his priorities. Bending down to Yuki’s level, Kyou reached out a timid hand to check for signs of life. Yuki was breathing steady but weakly and his heartbeat was still pretty strong. He blinked as he lifted the other up at how light and frail Yuki seemed to be. Then, he slowly, but surely tracked his way back to the house. He carried the unconscious other, talking to his still form, pretending the other was conscious and aware. “Where ever have you been, Rat?” The other questioned.

He walked on, soon past the secret garden that Tohru had been keeping safe and well tended while Yuki had been gone. Kyou smiled at the thought that the other had finally returned, though he doubted he’d left on his own, he’d had his own doubts. He came up to the house and found Shigure at work in the living room. “Welcome home, Kyou- kun.” The dog stated.

“I- I… Found him.” Kyou admitted, carefully laying the limp form onto the couch.

“You found?…” The other let the question hover in the air. “Where, Kyou?”

I tripped over him, he’s alive, though barely, we have to bandage him up, he’s been hurt severely… By someone or something.” The other commented, seriously.

“You took a medical course, hai?” The other questioned.

“Hai, I did for my health credit, but I can only do the minor repairs and settings until you can get Hatori to come over and inspect him further, and even then, he’d have to have to be submitted to a hospital possibly.” The other explained, sighing. “Go get me a few clean rags warm water bandages and the first aid kit and I’ll do what I can….”

“I’ll do so.” the other commented, getting up and gathering the things that the cat had said he would need.

“He’s really a mess, some of these injuries look like they’re quite old.” The other pointed to them. “Maybe a couple years at the most.”

He took the first aid bag and pulled out a few bits of needed items. “I wanted to check his heart and breathing properly first.” He explained as he placed an instrument to the other’s chest. “Ah, his heartbeat is strong, breathing’s pretty regular though a bit faint, it is stronger than when I found him though.” Kyou commented.

He continued in his examining of the other, before he started to gently clean and sanitize each cut and scrape, some of which were seeping slightly. “This will help with swelling and infections such as green gang.” The other commented, while he bandaged Yuki up. “He also has a slight fever so we’ll have to watch that as well. If he wakes, call for me, I’ll be someplace napping, this was a lot of work bandaging him up, and tomorrow I’m going to have to go re-stock our medical kit.”

He walked off, to head to sleep, only a few things floating in his mind. Why Yuki had disappeared in the first place, what had caused the other boy to get so badly hurt and lastly, how’d he get here by himself in that condition?

There ware a ton of questions he’d like to ask the other, like why he’d left in the first place and then how come he’d returned all alone and in that condition. Kyou’d really like to know who’d gotten the other boy to be hurt like that to begin with. However, it’d have to wait until the other actually woke. Which meant he’d have to wait until the other woke up for that. So, he sat there attending to the other’s slight fever in the meantime. Slowly but surely the other started to stir after a half an hour like this or so, groaning slightly. Soon wide violet eyes opened looking up into the cat’s own. And Kyou, for the first time in his life, saw instant fear looking back at him, caution. “Yuki?” He questioned.

“H- Hai.” The other commented, slowly, unsure sounding.

“You finally woke up, you’ve been out for a while now.” Kyou commented.

Yuki suddenly had everything come flooding back about his Master’s disowning him and he felt the tears start to come. “Go- Gomen, I- I am in debt to you…”

He shivered slightly when the other stared at him funny. “Don’t you know who I am?” The other questioned.

“Gomen, no I do not, Master… Since Master I hardly remember much at all. I do not remember beyond my Master’s owning of me.” He commented.

“Master?” Kyou questioned.

“Ha- Hai… My Master owned me for about a couple years then he…. He…. Disowned me…. That must have been where you found me, because he beat me harshly, though what I did wrong, I have no clue of.” The other stated.

“Yo- You were…. Yuki was….” Kyou was in shock, pure shock over the whole situation.

“Gomen, I can’t remember much… And every time I’d start to remember he’d force me to eat that paste again.” Yuki explained.

“Yuki…” Kyou sighed looking exhausted from all of this. “Start from as far back as you can remember and slowly tell me it.”

“Go- Gomen.” He commented.

“And quit apologizing.” Kyou added.

“Go-” The other started, faultering. “Hai.”

“All I remember at first is him forcing the paste down my throat, little by little things started to fade away, everything, even who I was for a little while. But, then he reminded me. I was his. He was a harsh Master, beating me every time I did something that displeased him, or sometimes even when I didn’t.”

“You don’t have to explain anymore.” Stated Kyou- san.

“H- Hai.” The other commented, bowing slightly towards the other.

“My name is Kyou.” The other commented, simply.

“Hai, Kyou…” He whispered.

He laid there for a bit more, before slowly drifting off to sleep, leaving one shocked cat to look at him with wonder.
