Kyou looked down upon the other’s sleeping face. He didn’t understand, no he refused to see how anyone could turn the other into such a scared and dependant person when by all rights Yuki wasn’t or hadn’t been at all. He watched the other’s sleeping form as it wound up tightly into a ball at his side. Was this what his rival had turned into? He knew deep down that he would never harm anyone, especially Yuki when something this bad had obviously occurred. He was careful when he moved to get up, leaving the other there for a couple minutes wouldn’t hurt anything, or so he thought. But then again, he was use to Yuki being so independent. It was while he was in the kitchen making himself a few rice balls that he heard the other starting to cry. He crept to the living room to find that Tohru had returned and thus, woken Yuki with how happy she was at his being safe. Kyou’s only guess at this was that because Yuki didn’t remember her, he’d become easily frightened by her sudden closeness. And he was crying from fright, curled into a pitiful ball and crying. Kyou approached with caution as Tohru looked on, he purposefully attracted the crying boy’s gaze to himself. And was rewarded with the other becoming attached right to his side, it surprised him but he found it wasn’t too uncomfortable. He slowly started to explain his findings to Tohru who stared wide eyed at the two as the story was explained. Kyou had to pat Yuki’s back to calm him and warm him to the fact that Tohru hadn’t meant to scare or hurt him at all. “Bu- But…” Yuki started, then his eyes widened just a hair. “Go- Gomen nasai, I- I don’t mean to talk back.”

“Yuki, calm down,” Kyou insisted, gently.

Surprisingly, Yuki obeyed the other, despite the slightly harsh tone the other used. “Go- Gomen Mas- Kyou, I- I over reacted.” The other commented, his sudden change from using a title to using the other’s name just enough to have been noticed.

“I am not your Master, Yuki.” Kyou darkly stated. “Now, I know Tohru startled you, but she’s our friend, okay? She wouldn’t hurt you in any way at all.”

“She- she wouldn’t hurt me in anyway, hai, I understand… I will try harder to understand… Mas- Kyou.” The other corrected himself. “Gomen, I- I’m so use to using that title to anyone now. Master wasn’t very kind when I forgot to use his title.”

Kyou blinked at the other. “Do you know your Master’s name?” He questioned.

Yuki didn’t respond, he merely turned away from the other shamefully. “I must never speak it, for if I do he told me that I would face a fate worse than death itself. My Master always meant what he said.” Yuki replied.

“How about we get you out of those rags?” Tohru offered.

“Hai, I’d appreciate that.” Yuki replied.

Kyou guided the other upstairs, pulling out some of the other’s old clothing from storage. “They’re dusty, but they should fit you fine.” He stated, handing the bundle to the other.

Yuki looked up at Kyou helplessly when he noted the clothing. “What?” Kyou questioned.
“Are they all so plain?” The other questioned.

“Plain?” Kyou wondered. “They’re what you normally wore before you disappeared from here.”

“I… Use to live here?” The other questioned.

“Hai, um… You did but one day… You vanished.” The other stated, sighing. “Why do you find them so plain?”

“It’s just… That my Master always dressed me in kimonos is all, he especially liked dressing me in violet or blue colored ones.” Yuki commented. “He had me grow my hair longer too, for a time until he tired of having to have someone put it up for me.”

“He liked seeing you as a woman?” Kyou wondered.

“Hai, but… I enjoyed being dressed like that too… If I was ever in trouble with Master, I could always look away from his angry face and down into the patterns on my kimono.” The other stated. “They were always so beautiful and soft against my skin, unlike Master’s hands.”

“I think I’ve heard enough.” Kyou commented.

Yet, Yuki blinked before continuing. “I’ll wear these, I do not mean to sound ungrateful… It’s just- I don’t know if I can live without my Master, no matter how cruel a Master he was. I’m use to having to ask permission for everything… Even to eat I had to ask and much of the time I was denied.”

“I said I’ve heard enough!” Kyou yelled out, standing suddenly. “Your Master obviously abused and then disowned you, how can you speak good of him at all? I don’t want to hear about him any longer!”

“Go- Gomen ne- I- I didn’t mean to…. Upset you. I- I- I…” The other stammered, he was cringing away from Kyou.

“Quit apologizing to me. Just stop.” Kyou commented, fuming. “I’m not mad at you, I’m mad at how he treated you is all.”

Yuki couldn’t help it though he started to cry, he was so confused and he didn’t want the other mad at him. Kyou looked at him in shock as he watched the one that he’d known for being so strong to act so weak right now. He blinked as he remembered that Yuki didn’t remember who he’d been before… He stood slowly to approach the other. “I’m sorry Yuki, I…. Didn’t mean to make you upset.” Kyou murmered.

The other shook his head carefully. “No, I’m being selfish, I shouldn’t of made you mad.” The other murmered.

“No… It’s just- it- I… I’m not used to you being like this is all. Sides, when you get out of those cloths, I’ll need to take off the dirty bandages and put on fresh ones for you, if it won’t make you uncomfortable.” The cat added.

“Hai, I- I understand.” The other murmered.

“Good.” Kyou commented. “I’m going to go get the fresh bandages and some cream for your wounds, I’ll be right back.”

He excused himself before he came back a couple minutes later rolls of bandages in hand. “You can remove the old bandages if you’d like yourself, but it’ll probably be better if I do so.” The other commented.

“Um… Ano… Kyou- kun, I’m… I’m not use to not having to ask permission to do things on my own… I’m not used to not having a Master and… When you yelled at me like that, it reminded me of…. Of what having a Master was like. I just… Feel so…. Helpless without one…. I…. “ The other muttered.

“Get to the point, if you could please?” Kyou questioned as he started to undo the bandages from earlier.

“I…. Wondered if… Maybe you’d help me find a Master…. Or- or become my Master.” The other questioned.

Kyou looked at him surprised by this request, though no words could fly from his mouth to state this fact. “I- I know I’m a terrible slave who’s already been used once but I- I- I need someone to tell me what to do, I don’t remember how to do things without being ordered to and I…” He started.

“Hold your tongue, why would you want me as your new Master?” Kyou questioned.

“Be- because you are… I don’t know… You’ve been kind and I owe you so much for it… I just thought… That giving myself as a slave to you would be…. Proper payment for such kindness-” The other was cut off.

“Even if I treat you as badly as your last Master?” Kyou wondered.

“I- I really wouldn’t mind even then, because I’m used to it by now… I just… I just…” The other stammered.

“Give me some time to think on it.” Kyou murmered, finishing with his job. “There you’re wrapped up, if you want a kimono instead of your old cloths you could ask Tohru to take you out shopping for some.” The other suggested.

“Thank you, Kyou… For not getting angry at my request. I was being silly when I requested such a thing.” He murmered.
“You weren’t, you’re just trying to do things as you know how to.” Kyou commented back, before he left the room.

He wanted to beat Yuki at something, but never like this, never like what this request was taunting him with. He squashed what feeling of triumph he had down as he headed downstairs to greet Hatori- san, who’d just arrived.
