I can't...understand. I won't understand it. As long as I ignore it...Kyo thought distantly. He was sitting on the roof of Shigure's home. He had left the main house, where Akito and Tohru's relationship had been revealed.
"You're disgusting, Kyo. The cat doesn't deserve to be happy. Never ." Kyo remembered Akito's words, they were burned into his mind. He'll never forget that scene. Akito, standing there with a cruel, twisted smile plastering his face, with Tohru merely staring at him from behind Akito.
"DAMMIT!" Kyo yelled out into the night sky.
Tohru sat on her bed, looking at the ceiling with an empty feeling inside of her. Akito was very cruel to Kyo-kun today, I hope...I hope Kyo-kun doesn't do anything too drastic.
"Shit..." She heard a voice coming from behind the door to her room. A knock sounded shortly after. Sitting up in the bed, she told them they could enter. Shigure walked into the room, with a serious look on his face.
"Tohru...You better come quick. Kyo-kun has gone to find Akito...and he's in his true form," Shigure regretfully explained. "I don't know how much he'll be able to hurt Akito, but it's important you be there, I think, none the less."
Tohru nodded, her heart pounding. What would happen to Akito? And especially Kyo-kun! Oh my god, what had she started? Oh my god, oh my god! She hurried and got dressed and raced to find Shigure to tell him she was ready.
"Hurry Shigure-san! Please! I don't want anything to happen to either of them!" Tohru choked, and tears were beginning to stream down her face.
Shigure placed his hand on her head lightly, and looked at her with a soft but concerned expression. "Tohru, calm down. Don't cry, please. It will be okay, really," He told her. He took her shoulders and pulled her close to him. God, I hope it will be okay...for Tohru...and Kyo-kuns sake...
They pulled up in front of the main house, only to see Momiji in the front of it. Once he saw Tohru get out of the car, he rushed forward and pulled her into a huge hug, causing him to turn into his zodiac animal, the bunny. He was crying, and Tohru noticed he was bleeding on his cheek.
Tohru touched his cheek lightly, and held him closer. "What happened, Momiji-kun?" She said, breathing heavily.
"Kyo-kun...is here. In his true form! I knew he was here to hurt Akito-san because of you two, but I wanted to stop him! So I told him to stay away from Akito-san, but he hit me and told me to screw off!" Momiji wailed, tears drying on his fur, which was becoming very soaked.
Tohru stroked him, holding him very tight to her chest. "It's okay, it's okay, Momiji-kun," she soothes, repeating it in a soft voice. "Where is Kyo-kun? I need to find him. I'll be able to make him stop, hopefully."
Momiji pointed to the backyard. "He was last over there. Aaya and Haru were trying to calm him down...but the smell was overwhelming and they started getting sick. Kyo-kun...it just infuriated him more. Tohru-chan, please be careful. He may hurt you!"
Tohru nodded. "I'll be fine, Momiji," she turned to Shigure. "I better go alone. I don't want to involve anymore people in this."
Shigure nodded. "Good luck, Tohru. And be careful. Kyo-kun's heart is broken, and you'll want to be cautious about what you say to him, because he may just do something drastic."
"Yuki-kun is there too! He's holding Kyo-kun off from hurting Akito-san. I don't know why though. He hates Akito-san for what he's done to him. I guess he doesn't want Kyo to have to go into that-"
"Enough, Momiji. Go on, Tohru, try and heal him once again." Shigure said solemnly.
The first thing Tohru saw was Kyo taking a strike at Yuki's head. It connected. She watched in horror as it sent Yuki flying across the lawn. Yuki's face was quite scratched up, his clothes were torn as well. The horrible smell of Kyo's true form overcame Tohru, but she couldn't get sick. Not in front of Kyo-kun. She'd overcame it before, and she had to do it again. For Akito's sake, and also Kyo-kun...
"Kyo-kun! Stop it! Please!" Tohru rasped through the thick smell. "I don't want you to hurt anyone! Please Kyo-kun! DON'T!"
Kyo's wide, reptile-like eyes spun on Tohru. They grew colder than they were before he noticed her presence. She flinched at the way he just stared at her. "Tohru...you...you IDIOT! How dare you promise me we'd share things together!? All our secrets? You kept this from me! You made me think you loved me!"
Tohru gasped. She knew what she said that day. When she first saw Kyo-kuns true form.
"When things get tough, when you're scared, when you're weak...I want you to tell me. I want you to let me care about you. I want to be together. I want to stay TOGETHER!"
Her words...she had meant every one of them. She wanted to stay with him, to love him. The way he had held her, it had shown his pain, he had given her his pain so she could heal him, and she did this to him. She loved him, she knew she did. But would he believe her feelings, even if they were true? She needed to take a chance, even if it made Akito angry. She needed to do this!
"Kyo-kun..." Tohru said. Everything had gone dead silent, except for the wind, and Kyo's heavy breathing, fueled by his anger towards Tohru. "Kyo...I..."
She ran towards him so fast he couldn't react. "I love you! I've loved you for the longest time! I was scared, though! Scared I couldn't show my feelings! We're so different, but...I NEED to be with you! I love you, Kyo!"
Kyo's eyes widened, and he felt himself calming down. Is she...telling the truth? Could she really love him? What about that damn Akito-san? Doesn't she love him instead? She's lying...she just doesn't want me to hurt him! Damn her for trying to trick me!
Kyo laughed angrily under his breath, and Tohru stiffened. He didn't believe her, she poured her heart out to him, but he doesn't trust her anymore. "You...you bitch. Don't waste my time with your lies. How can you try to trick me like that?"
"Kyo-kun, I don't think she's lying," said a cold voice. Tohru looked at and gasped. Akito!
Akito raised his foot and slammed it against Kyo's side. Kyo was pushed back by Akito's strength, and took a swing at his face, but Akito easily dodged it. "Kyo-kun, you truly do have bad aim, just like Yuki always said you did. Horrible guard to, I might add." Akito was grinning maliciously.
"Stop it, Akito-san!" Tohru cried, grabbing Kyo's mutated arm, holding him down. Kyo blinked, sweat dripping down his deformed face. She called him Akito-san! Not just Akito...has she...left him?
"How can you be so cruel to Kyo, Akito-san!? Especially around me. And how dare you tell him he's lost me forever! I don't care if you're the head of the Sohma family, you shouldn't disrespect you're own family like that! You're twisted!" Tohru walked up to Akito and slapped him hard on the face. It knocked Akito back, giving him quite a shock.
Yuki rose up from the ground, recovering his conciousness. He saw Haru standing beside him. Haru looked down as he saw Yuki's body sit up straight. "Are you okay, Yuki? Kyo's scratched you up quite good." Haru placed his hand on Yuki's face lightly, like Akito had done. Only there wasn't a cold glint in Haru's eyes, there was kindness and concern.
"Yes, I'm fine. Thank you though," Yuki said softly. Haru just kept staring at him. Yuki felt himself becoming embarassed, and turned his face away. Just in time to see Tohru run up to Akito and slap his face. Yuki gasped. "What does she think she's doing!? He'll certainly have her memories erased now! Oh my god...Tohru..."
Haru looked at Yuki, and saw his face was full of fear. "You care more about what happens to that girl...than you do yourself, and Kyo? You don't love Tohru-kun, do you?"
Yuki blinked, taken-aback. "No...I don't. She's a very good friend to me, that's all. I...I want her to remember everything everyone has shared with her, including Kyo-kun."
Haru smiled. Yuki was so sensitive, you couldn't believe how much Akito had hurt him. Tried to keep Yuki from leaving, forcing him to come back to him because he was so frightened of Akito.
