Ch-1
A Girl Is Born
Pieces of laundry danced with the wind on the long close line. The air was warm, sky clear and blue. Flowers were blooming to soak up the sun’s rays and water sprinkled dirt. Blue Jays chirped lazily while preening their feathers beside nests that held their egg encased offspring, while Sparrows fought and beat one another to rid themselves of boredom. Enjoying the bright sun and leisure of the nice day were the wives of Son Goku and Elric Martin.
Sayna leaned back in her chair, gently placing her hands on her swollen tummy. “I wonder if this will be the last time I’ll have to relax before the baby is born.”
Chi-Chi smiled. “Don’t worry. I thought the same thing. I found a solution though. Make Goku do some work.”
Sayna laughed. “Martin promised he’d help me out, but now he’s suddenly got heavy into training lately.” She gazed down at her tea cup in thought.
Her friend noticed the look in her deep blue eyes. “He probably wants to be his daughter’s big strong daddy. Just wait till the baby is born. He’ll be showing off when the kid doesn’t even know what’s going on.” She rested her elbows on the table, placing her chin in her hands. “Goku was like that for awhile. It was kind of funny really. So was dad, actually.”
She shrugged. “I guess so. Mar has always been like that…”

Goku stretched his arms once more before finishing his training. The day’s exercise had been boring since Gohan went back to his studies. Goten was only three months old, so there was no way he would allow his son to train so young. Heaving a sigh, he figured he could sit in the grass by the river before going inside.
“Hey, Son!”
He looked over his shoulder to see who called him. Immediately, he brightened up. “Hi Martin! What’s up!” He shook the man’s hand.
Martin grinned. “Nothing much. I came to take Sayna home. Don’t want her waking around by herself nowadays.”
Goku looked over to the house. “I think the girls are on the deck.” He turned to lead Martin in, when he asked to wait.
Martin shifted his feet apart, keeping his eyes on the warrior. His arms were by his sides. “I’ve been developing a new technique, one that isn’t hand to hand like we’ve been doing. May I demonstrate it on you? I’ll take full responsibility if I hurt you in any way.”
Goku examined Martin’s face closely. An expression that of a focused and determined fighter was there. He knew his friend was serious. Shifting in a defensive stance, he said, “No problem. Give me everything you have. I trust you enough not to kill me.” He smirked as the man across from him smiled.
“Alriiiight.” He knelt on the ground, resting a knee on the ground. He placed the tip of two fingers in the dirt, transferring chakra. “Try and stay still.” Quickly, he pulled his fingers 40° degrees down. Blue energy ripped through the earthy ground, rocks and soil flying in one sideway direction. The attack then split, inches from Goku’s boots. It paned out, making a circle abound him imitating six little shark dorsal fins. The earth turned into a heightened six inch rim, closing Goku. Halting, the blue light evaporated.
Goku’s body trembled slightly as he stood his ground. Never before had he felt ki being controlled and used in that way. It was like the energy was a sneaky snake in the grass, maneuvering every which way to snag its prey in its jaws. A heavy breath left his chest that he did not know he was holding.
Martin stood, straitening his back. He looked Goku over and realized the warrior was stunned at the show. “Son? Sorry, I just needed somebody to practice on. I didn’t mean to freak you out by that.”
Goku stepped over the rocky circle around him. “No problem, I guess…..where did you learn something like that? You made the ground move how you wanted it. I don’t think I’ve seen that before…”
After a few moments, Martin merely shrugged. “Through my travels I suppose. Aside from searching for a place to live, I needed something better to do. It’s a secret technique too, and hard to learn.”
“Really? What do you call it?”
Martin thought his words over as he followed the man to his home. “…well, I haven’t picked a name for it yet.” He walked the steps out to the deck, smiling at his wife and Chi-Chi. “Afternoon, Chi. Hon, Ready to go?” He helped her stand so she had to use little effort.
“Alright, since I’m up now.” She softly kissed his cheek as a thank you. “I’ll call you later, Chi-Chi.”
“No problem. Let me know if you need anything.”
Goku took Sayna’s previous seat after the couple left. He folded his arms on the table top. “Martin has been training. I can tell he’s restless.”
Chi-Chi took a last sip of her tea. “Matti thinks so too. He’s probably anticipating that stubborn baby.” She commented, “I’m sure she’ll be relived once the baby is born.”
“Yeah, it looks like she’s gonna explode.”
Chi-Chi just shook her head.

Sayna held her husband’s arm as they walked home. Their home was not far from the Son’s, with an extra room or two. Gohan would stay over some nights after sparring with Martin or helping Sayna with the house work. It earned him a little money.
Martin opened the front door, moving aside to let his wife in first. “How did you feel today?” He asked.
She shrugged, pulling on one of his sweat shirts he happened to leave on the couch. “Fine, I guess. Not as bad as yesterday.”
He helped her lay down on the couch. “That’s because you, for some reason, need to get up and watch me spar. You never want to put your feet up or rest.” He sat heavily at her feet. “All you have to do is relax.”
“Don’t tell me what to do.”
“You’re one to talk…..”
“Martin Elric!”
“The baby will get used to that…”
“No, Martin…..I mean…Martin!!”
He turned to her curiously. “Yes, that would be my name. Your name is S-aI-nA. What’d you do, forget?”
She grabbed his hand, the other holding her tummy. “Mar…..the baby!”

Chi-Chi helped Sayna through the birthing. Martin happened to pass out and Goku had to carry him out into the room next door. Gohan stayed in the waiting with little Goten.
The new mother wrapped her daughter‘s blanket around the small body. She closed her eyes, carefully rubbed her cheek against the baby’s head. “Her skin is so soft….and warm.”
“I’m sure she is. Martin will think so too, once he wakes up.” Chi-Chi got up to look outside for her friend’s husband. “Goku slapped him again….”
Matti held her baby tighter. “Don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere without him.” She pulled the blanket away from the baby’s chin. She smiled back, allowing her to hold her index finger in the tiny hand. “Your daddy is on his way from dream land, and when he comes back, he’ll hold you and announce your name……it’s been passed down in his family. It doesn’t matter if it’s a boy’s name, nobody will know.”
Chi-Chi couldn’t help but smile. She had never seen the woman so happy.
Martin rubbed his cheek as he wobbled into the room. “Damn, he only had to hit me once….” His raven eyes widened, seeing a ball of blankets in his wife‘s arms. “Sai?” She nodded and he sat heavily in the chair beside her bed. Nervous to touch the delicate being, he raised his head and examined. “…….She looks more like me, you know.”
Matti shook her head. Her grip lessened as the baby squirmed, short arm reaching out. “She wants her daddy to hold her.”
Goku quietly opened the door. He patted Gohan’s head lightly as he held Goten.
Martin took the most cautious care he ever did to an object. He cursed himself for not being prepared for this. After Chi-Chi helped him hold her the right way, he met with the most bright coal eyes he ever saw. The connection of father and daughter was one that only they know of. She snuggled into his chest, not afraid of the obvious looking warrior. Martin hugged his only precious daughter. He could feel her chakra dancing with his. “Mattimeo…..I don’t know what to say, so all I can say is your name. Sorry.”
