Chapter 4: Serinaty

Stop worrying. You’re safe now. No one will find you here. Everyone, no wait, no one knows you here. A girl thought desperately as she walked down the isle of the train. The girls name was unknown, so she just called herself Serinaty, after her favorite music piece. Serinaty was an orphan. The nuns had told her that her mother had only been fourteen when she gave birth to her. And right after, she had died. Therefore, Serinaty lived with the nun’s until she was fourteen, and then everything that was okay had gone wrong.
The night the man had arrived was the night Serinaty was fourteen. In a village, if the parents wished, a child could be married off at the age of twelve. The man had been looking for a bride. The nuns had showed him plenty of girls around seventeen and eighteen, but he refused them all. He only wanted one person, Serinaty. The only problem with that was the man was a murder. He killed helpless innocent young girls without mercy. But what the man didn’t count on was that Serinaty wasn’t helpless.
Serinaty had killed him, mercifulness and painfully. It had been easy enough. Too easy in her opinion, But she didn’t want to think about that. Burning him alive in fire she created with her eyes. His cries of agonizing pain still rang in her mind and heart. She wasn’t proud of what she did, but what other choice had she had? It was either her life or his.
Serinaty was yanked back to the present when she bumped into a young man. At first, she started to apologize, until she saw his gun.
The man turned to see who had been stupid enough to touch him. This gave Kura and Ed just enough time to “Slip” away. “See ya suckers!” Kura yelled, racing down the isle after Ed.
“Hey!” Serinaty screamed, unsure of what to do. She had only been her for five minutes and she was already in trouble.
“You wench!” The young man yelled at her. He brought back the hand that held his gun and smacked the girl. His cronies snickered. Oh, they think it’s funny when a girl gets hurt do they? She thought bitterly.
“You bastard!” she cried, wiping the blood away form her lip.
The man snickered, clearly amused. “I guess I’ll get my sister and her little follower some other time.” He said, glaring at the girl in front of him.
“Hey! Peabrain! Why don’t you pick on someone your own size!” called a male voice from the window. A young man, about fifteen, peered in through the window. “I mean she’s just a small girl! She can’t defend herself! Didn’t your momma teach you anything?”
The words burned into Serinaty like acid pouring into an open wound. “I can to defend myself!” Serinaty snapped, though both men ignored her outburst.
“Well, well, well. I might have lost my sister and Edward Elric, but I got a stray and the other Elric brother. Tell me, how’s it feel to have your body back?” Sneered the young man with the gun.
“So, you lost Ed? How typical.”
Serinaty stood transfixed. She had left Spence for this? “Would you two just shut up!” she snapped at both of them.
They both turned to face her this time. “Why don’t you shut up, you filthy wench?” Kura’s brother courted. Serinaty glared, she hated being spoken to like that. Her anger lashed out, and she struck. She punched him square in the jaw. Big mistake! The man fell backwards, clutching his chin. Serinaty was still glaring threw tear-stained eyes as she cradled her small slender hand.
“Why you little” the man was suddenly pointing his gun at the girl. His finger on the trigger, ready to fire.
“Oh no you don’t!” The fifteen-year-old called. He lunged at the other man, and punched him out with the swiftness of a fox, and the power of a tiger. Apparently, ever since Al had gotten his body back, he was a little braver.
Serinaty yelped and covered her mouth, causing the blond haired younger Elric brother to look at her. He simply stared at her for a minute, as if it had just registered in his mind that she was a girl. A sudden blush speared across his cheeks and he looked down.
“HEY! You two! Did you do this to master Alex?” asked on of Alex’s (Kura’s brother) cronies.
“We need to go!” Both boy and girl said at the same time. Serinaty dashed forward and grabbed Al’s hand before leaping out the window he’d came in from. They ran together, hand in hand until they were on the other side of the train station.
Serinaty stopped and released the boy’s hand. “Do I get to know the name of my rescuer?” she asked sweetly.
“Al,” he replied simply, blushing again. Serinaty smiled at him, then threw her arms around him and planted a sloppy kiss against his cheek. Al’s blush deepened. “And…yours?” He managed once Serinaty had released him.
“Serinaty!” she replied happily, tossing her long brown red hair over her shoulder.
“Hello Ally boy!” Said a voice from the side of the two teens.
“Hello to you too Edward,” Al shot back, layering then name with heavy sarcasm, suddenly forgetting the girl beside him.
“And, who are you?” Ed asked, eyeing the girl beside his younger brother.
“I’m-” A shot rang out through the air. Serinaty’s sharp emerald green eyes opened wide as she let out of cry of pure shock and pain.
