((Chapter 8))
Arf! Arf! Riza put the bowl of dog food and water on the floor and Black Hayate dug in, litarally.
"He said that?" Ross scratched Black Hayate behind his ears as he ate. They were in Rizas dorm room. She had a real home of her own and she normally didn't stay here unless she had to be at work early.
"Yes." But it didn't really matter what Roy said now. They had a break in the case, he was back in Crimson City, they knew that for sure, but why? Roy had informed them all of that yestorday and for now, they were still off the case. Only for a little while longer.
Riza shrugged. "Yes, he did. The way I see it, he thought we could be in danger as well."
"We're not helpless. He knows that, or at least he should."
"I'm sure she thought that she was totally helpless That night either." But that was behind them now, with the killer back in Crimson City that could all rest a little easier but still, Riza wanted back on the case. She hated being taken off of it like that but this was only for the time being.
The question was, had he killed anyone else?
"Are you still going to the Valentines Banquet?" Ross changed the subject to something a bit more easier.
The military had there little parties to. They weren't all work and no play like a lot of people seemed to think. Each year, unless something came up, they hosted a valentines party on Valentines Day. She went each year, it wouldn't be the same without her.
"Yes, I'm still going. After all, I don't really have a choice in the matter. Mustang ordered all of us who had been on the case, to go. We've all been up tight and deserve this little break." Partly meaning, if Roy had to go, then the others had to go as well.
"Well, I have to get going." Ross picked up her jacket. "And remember...Valentines Day only comes once a year...wear something...different." She smiled and left.
Riza smiled slowly as Black Hayate jumped into her lap. She had something different.

"Sir, I've found something." Falman spread a map on Roys desk. They were off the case but Roy and Falman were still looking into it, without anyone knowing. Falman had marked a few places on the map, some in red and some in green. The map showed the design and location of everything in Crimson City. The places that he had marked were the places where the bodies had been found.
Falman pointed to at the map. "What do all of these marks resemble?"
Roy looked at the map. All he saw were the places that Falman had marked, that was all. "All I see is that you marked where he left the bodies. I don't have time for games, Falman."
"Look again." Was all he said.
Roy ran a hand through his hair. If the choice had been his he would have never gotten into this case but now something kept him going. He looked again and again...
"Its a circle." He said it quietly, hardly daring to believe what he saw.
"Yes."
Roy picked up a pin and traced the dots marked in red and just as he had said, it was a circle. He did the same thing with the places marked in green. They looked like..."What the hell does he think hes doing?" Roy muttered. It was almost like the transmutation circle that he, Hawkeye and Falman had last seen, but a little different. "What the hell?" It didn't fit, it just didn't. It didn't make sense but they couldn't do anything, not yet.
"Theres nothing we can do right now." Falman nodded. It was best to just leave it alone...relax.
Roy did just that, seemingly forgetting all about the case as he folded the map and slipped it into a drawer, locking it. He put his hands in the air and sighed dramiticly. "I haven't even gotten a date for tomorrow night yet. Everything has just been sooo stressful lately..." And he probally wouldn't, the party was tomorrow night.
"Is that so?" Havoc walked in. His voice made it clear that he wasn't concerned, without Roy having a date maybe it would be easier for him to get a date this time and not having to worry about the girl falling for Roy. He probally wasn't getting a date either though.
Roy didn't bother telling Roy not to smoke in the office, it would be like reprimending himself if he did that. After all he was doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing, or rather, doing. Working. If Hawkeye knew, there would be hell to pay.
"Don't complain, I don't have a date either." Havoc tilted his head back. "We're not the only ones either." He pointed at Falman. "He doesn't either and that includes Heymans and Fuery...dammit man, your bad luck rubbed off on us all." He muttered the last words under his breath.
"Yea..." Roy shrugged. At least he wasn't the only one now.
"Oh and the reason I came by..." Havoc paused, a glint coming into his eyes. "Theres been more rumors about Warehouse 13 again...people have ACTUALLY been hearing things and this time it ain't no dog..." He leaned closer but Roy cut him off before he even finished. He already knew what Havoc was going to say.
"Don't even say it." Was all Roy said. There was no way he was going through that again. The last time they had made fools of themselves.
