Xandyr opened her eyes only to be blinded by the light. Her head was pounding but worst of all, she felt like her heart had broke. Riza sat down in front of her, a look of sadness in her eyes.
“Do you feel okay? You looked like hell last night.” Xandyr rubbed her eyes and sat up.
“Well, I suppose I could be worse. I've got a pounding headache, the light is hurting my eyes and my heart feels like it's just been stomped on.”
“That's to be expected when you spend half the night crying your eyes out.” Winry said.
“Well, I found Edward but he's not moving from where he is.” Roy walked in and looked at Riza before looking at Xandyr. “He told me what happened so I can understand why he's upset; however, what he said to you, Xandyr, was wrong.” The angel rolled over and looked up at Roy.
“He told you everything?”
“Including what he told you and what you said to him. He's not really a person to lie so I'm taking his word for it...but I'd still like to get it from you, too.” Xandyr nodded.

The stars looked just as beautiful as they had the night before. He hoped that the night didn't end like it had the night before. After turning it all over in his head, he decided that he had every right to be upset at Xandyr. However, what he had said to her...that was unforgivable. He sighed as he walked into the hotel and up the stairs toward the room. Winry had told him that Xandyr would be there tonight. He doubted it but all three of them told him he needed to talk to her. After considering it that seemed the only option he had. She'd grown on him and he considered her a good friend but maybe last night had been the end of that.
As soon as Ed walked into the room, he was greeted by a dim light. Xandyr didn't appear to be in the room but she might be on the balcony. He walked across the room and stopped in the doorway to the balcony. There she sat on the stone rail. Tonight she wore all white with the same silver belt perched on her hips. Her pants were loose looking like a two-part dress. She wore heeled sandals tonight instead of boots. Her hair, as always, was down.
“Xandyr.” She turned to face him, her face angelic as always illuminated by the moonlight. Her eyes were filled with sadness and longing. His lips suddenly burned for her. His body ached and reached out for hers. His heartbeat sped up and he nearly ran to her putting his hands under her jaw and pulling her into a kiss. She didn't fight it but put her arms around his neck kissing him hungrily. She turned around, wrapping her legs around his hips arching to him. He put his hands under her legs and carried her back inside, lying on the bed.
“I love you.” She whispered to him as soon as he broke the kiss. Her body shook with fear but she knew she wanted him. She had waited for this for what seemed like forever and yet she couldn't let him go farther than this. She shouldn't have let him get this far. His hands rested on her hips as his fingers slipped under her shirt. “Edward.” He stopped and looked at her. “I love you--”
“I love you.” He whispered, his voice heavy and rough.
“But I can't let this go too far.” The hunger stayed in his eyes but he pulled his hands from her hips and set them on her waist. “There would be consequences from the angels and I'm not prepared for that yet.” He nodded and bent to kiss her his lips lingering for a moment. He stood up, pulling her up with him. Ed ran his hands through her hair, his hands resting on her waist.
“I love you. I'm sorry for what I said to you last night.” Ed said. “It was wrong.”
“Don't be sorry. What I did to you was wrong.”
“So, we're at an agreement.” He smiled and kissed her again. No matter how many times she told him she wasn't ready to sleep with him, he still couldn't gather enough anything to stop kissing her. Her lips were too soft and tasted too sweet for him to want to stop. He hungered for her but she wasn't ready to go further yet. She closed her eyes and rested her head against his chest. His beating heart played a soft music to her, lulling her to sleep. She loved how he gently kissed her forehead, rearranging the hairs that framed her face. He ran his hands up and down her back and he stopped at her shoulder blades, massaging the area surrounding her wings. She moaned softly at the light pressure he was putting on the sensitive skin. Kissing his neck, she burrowed deeper into his shirt and closed her eyes listening to the sound of his heart. The sound was beautiful to her.
Once again he lied on the bed and pulled her down with him; however, instead of making any sexual advances on her, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him, kissing her cheeks as he closed his eyes and smiled. Xandyr returned the smile, gently kissing his lips and then forehead. She closed her own eyes and they both drifted off to sleep.

Ed stood back in the darkness. It didn't consume him this time but he was alone. Not even the ghost of his brother played company to him.
“Hello!” He turned around in a full circle, stopping at where he was before.
“Edward, Fullmetal.” He turned around to face the owner of the voice but no one was there. The voice sounded familiar but he couldn't place who it was. “Edward, Fullmetal.” It repeated. He turned again and stopped. Xandyr stood before him. She was completely unclothed save for a piece of lace wrapped around her torso. She looked like she had been crying. When he tried to step forward to go to her to comfort her he fell back. He looked down at his feet and they looked fine but he couldn't move them.
“Xandyr.” She didn't look up at him or even seem to notice him standing there. “Xandyr. I love you.” He whispered in the darkness. She finally looked up at him, her eyes full of hate.
“Your `love' killed me.” She growled. He finally noticed that her wings were absent and there was a pool of liquid around her feet. The pool grew, spreading over the floor and crawling up her legs. Blood. Her wings had been torn off!
“Xandyr, how did my love kill you?”
“You killed me! You kill everyone you touch, haven't you noticed that!?” She screamed. His eyes widened; he tried to step backward but he couldn't. He was stuck. A weird tingling overwhelmed his arm. He looked down and saw his mechanical arm again. He tried moving it but it was too heavy. The metal suddenly began moving, creeping up and spreading over his chest and down his stomach, covering his body.
“Xandyr!” He cried out. She stood fast and then her own blood engulfed her. “Xandyr!” He screamed. Her name on his voice rang in his ears. It echoed through the darkness and stuck in his head, his own voice strangled with want, hunger and sadness. She suddenly disappeared and his body was completely engulfed by the cold, lifeless metal. “Xandyr!” He heard himself scream.
Ed shot up in the bed, sweat rolling down his forehead and snaking down his back. His breath was heavy, his heart beating rapidly. His face felt wet and warm with a salty taste on his lips. He'd been crying. A soft hand on his arm made him slightly jump.
“Ed.” He looked down and met Xandyr's green eyes. His heart stopped for a moment and the fear he'd just felt vanished into the night. She smiled, running her hand across his cheek lying back down on the pillow and dragging him with her. Ed pulled a strand of her hair between his fingers, twirling it around in his hand as he stared into her eyes and her back in his. They smiled gently at each other before Xandyr kissed his lips and closed her eyes. “You're safe with me.” She whispered.
“I know.” He stroked her cheek, closing his own eyes. Her breath gently fanned his face. Her heartbeat suddenly drummed in his head. All memories of his recent dream faded from his mind replaced with peace something he had longed for eight years. Xandyr was his peace, she was his heart, she was everything in him he had been searching for and she had been right behind him the entire time. It took his death to begin a new life...with her.

She stood under the water in the shower, her eyes closed. As she released a deep breath, clips from the dream of last night came back. A tingling, burning sensation filled her lower stomach and created an odd feeling through her body. Edward had still been asleep when she got in the shower but she now felt movement in the room. Several times he went to the bathroom door, paused, and turned away flustered. She smiled. He wanted her as badly as she wanted him but he only held himself in check because she wanted him to, needed him to. If it weren't for the angelic codes she'd... `What are you thinking, Xandyr?' she asked herself in her mind. `You shouldn't be thinking these kinds of things...especially about a mortal man.' She sighed, pushing her hair away from her face.
Last night when she'd slept in his arms, she felt a protection she'd never felt before. His arms held her waist all night not letting her go but shielding her from the night. She knew he had noticed her dreams, it would be hard to not. She had thrashed about lightly and she was even brought to the brink of consciousness by her own moans. At one point during the night, she thrust her hips backward only for him to grind against her in his sleep. That had only set her ablaze even more than just the dreams and being in his arms. She'd felt pressure from behind and knew that it had been because of him.
Xandyr turned off the water, opened the door and pulled a towel tightly around her torso. When she opened the bathroom door, Ed was on the phone ordering breakfast. He spotted her and smiled while finishing his order. After hanging up the phone, he walked to her setting his hands gently on her waist. He bent down, touching her gently on the lips with his own and let her breath warm his lips.
“Sleep well?” He asked, a smile on his face. Xandyr's face turned red suddenly. She turned away from Edward, sitting on the bed. “Kidding. I just didn't know that an angel could have those kinds of dreams.”
“Neither did I.” Ed got on his knees in front of her, taking her hands in his. Their eyes locked for a moment before he lied his head on her lap. She ran her fingers through his hair, stroking his cheek and forehead and the back of his neck. A shiver ran down his spine. He took her hand, kissing each of her fingertips before kissing her palm.
“I love you.” He whispered.
“I love you.” Edward got back up, putting his hands on either side of her and leaning in for another kiss. The kiss slowly became deeper until Xandyr had her back flat on the bed, Ed's hips resting on the inside of her thighs. His fingers ran up and down her thigh before slipping up inside the towel but stopping just there. Out of the blue, Edward got up and walked into the bathroom. The water began running and then the shower. Xandyr decided to take this time to dress.
Ed ran his hand over his smooth jaw then ran both hands through his damp hair. He walked from the bathroom in time to see Xandyr tying up her mid-calf black boots over baggy pants, the same belt, and a button-down peasant's blouse with an unbuttoned vest. She was back to her all black outfit. When she stood up, she quickly looked away from Ed, blushing at his nearly naked body. He only smiled before getting an outfit together and dressing in the bathroom.

“So, how did the talk go last night?” Winry asked as soon as she spotted Ed. He smiled at her and she suddenly stopped. “You didn't.”
“No. We didn't but we were close.” Winry smiled and walked quickly to catch up to him.
“So, I guess that everything is okay now?” Edward nodded.
“Yeah, you could say that.”
“I...I don't get it.” Ed stopped and turned around to look at Winry.
“Turn around.” She turned halfway around and saw Xandyr constantly look up from Riza at Ed. Winry looked at Ed and caught an even larger smile. She turned back to Xandyr and saw an equally-sized smile. She turned back to Edward.
“Are you two...dating?” She asked casually.
“Not officially.”
“Not officially?”
“It hasn't actually been said but...” Winry nodded.
“She loves you, you know.” Ed looked at her.
“I love her, too. And she told me, twice, last night.” Winry's smile grew.
“You're in love with your guardian angel?” As Edward's eyes traveled back to her, his eyes misted over, the smile still playing on his lips.
“I've never loved anyone this much. She makes me feel...whole, safe, and at home.” Winry looked down with her smile. He'd never love her like that but at least she knew he had found love. He had found someone who could tame his soul and mend his heart and spirit. It hadn't been any person, but an angel, who had stolen his heart. She couldn't help but feel happy for him even if she regretted it hadn't been her.
