Fullmetal Alchemist Fan Fiction ❯ Lonely ❯ Winry gone?! ( Chapter 16 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
This is my second FMA fic. There are a few warnings: Winry bashing, Al OOC, Ed OOC, and this will be an Ed/Roy pairing. This fic switches POV back and forth between Ed and Roy. Some chapters with have both POVs, some only one. I don't own FMA but this original story is mine.
There is also a color key.
Black: Author's notes, other people speaking and, for this chappie, Al's entire flashback, which is in third person.
Black with * means random noises.
Blue: Roy (Both thoughts and speaking in and out of POV mode)
Red: Ed (Both thoughts and speaking in and out of POV mode)
Now without further ado, here's the story. Enjoy!
Lonely
We all, Al included, got into the car and he explained about why he and Winry broke up.
“After that play a few days ago,” said Al, “I talked to Winry about how we treated Ed.”
*Al's flashback*
Al sat in the living room of the apartment, feeling guilty and sad for hurting Ed.
“Al!” chirps Winry too cheerfully, “I've got a great idea for the wedding cake!”
Al groaned. The wedding preparations were supposed to be on hold because he thought that they were going to take care of Ed first.
“Winry,” said Al, “All that has to wait. What about my brother? Mustang's right, we had no excuse to hurt Ed and trap him that way!”
“But Al,” Winry whined, “We all know that Ed was only good for getting money. Plus, he wouldn't know the first thing about taking care of himself. He was always the stupid one, even when we were kids!”
“HE IS NOT STUPID!” Al screamed to the top of his lungs, “HOW COULD YOU DO THOSE THINGS TO HIM! I'M DISGUSTED WITH BOTH OF US, YOU FOR HURTING ED AND ME FOR LETTING YOU!!!”
“What are you saying, Al?” asked Winry, who looked ready to cry.
“I'm saying that maybe I was stupid for asking you to marry me,” Al said angrily, “If I knew that Ed would've been hurt in anyway by it, I would've never asked.”
“Are you breaking the engagement?” asked Winry, tearfully.
“No,” said Al as he shook his head, “I called Granny in Ressembool and told her the situation. She suggested that you go home and that we spend some time apart. I think we should do it because I know that I need to get my priorities straight. They must be pretty messed up if I'm hurting Edward.”
With that, Winry packed up and ran out the door in tears. “Good bye, Al,” she sobbed as she slammed the door.
*End Flashback*
“And that's what happened,” said Al as we got to his apartment. The car stopped but, Al didn't leave.
“I'm glad that you're not breaking things off,” I said with a small smile.
“Al,” said Roy, “I want you to know that Ed and I are…”
“In love,” said Al, knowingly, “I figured that out in the theater when you held him, Further. I'm happy you found someone to love you, Brother. I know that I always will.”
Al opened the door and was about to leave when Roy invited him for Christmas! Al said yes and I was so happy that I hugged them both. When Roy and I got home, we said `Good night', kissed, and I went to sleep, smiling.
TBC! Finally, some happiness for Ed but, will it last? Stay tuned!
