All was fine until Jay wanted to wash her clothes; she went into the laundry room to find that the washer machine was missing an agitator. She growled and walked into the kitchen to find the phone. She found it under a pile of shirts the Colonel had left there this morning before running off to work like a chicken with his head cut off. She dialed Central Headquarters. Roy had left the number to his office right next to the phone so it took her a while to find it under all those clothes. It rang three times and a female voice answered it.

“Hello Colonel Mustang's office,” She spoke.

“Who is this? Is Roy there?” she asked her.

“I'm First Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye. He's out a lunch break may I ask who this is?” Riza asked Jay.

“Yeah this is Dr. Elric, tell him that the washer machine is broken and he needs to call me as soon as he gets back in from lunch. Tell him if he doesn't I'll kick his ass.” Jay told her. Jay heard a little laugh from the other end of the phone.

“Alright, I will,” Riza answered her.

“Thank you.” Jay said then hung up.

19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19 -19-19-19-19-19

A half an hour later the phone rang and she stopped cleaning the kitchen to answer it.

“Hello Mustang residence.” She answered it.

“Who is this?” the voice on the other side of the phone was female and she sounded a little agitated.

“My name is Jay, who is this?” Jay asked her.

“Oh hello, my name is Sarah is Roy there?” She asked.

“No, he's at the office, I can take a message though,” Jay told her.

“That's alright, just tell him I called ok?” Sarah told her and hung up.

“Gerr must have been one of Roy's bitches.” As soon as she sat the phone back on the cradle it rang again.

“Hello Mustang residence,” she answered. Laughter on the other end of the phone indicated that it was Roy.

“Hey it's not funny how long has the washer been broken?” Jay asked him.

“I don't know it's been broken a long time, just send your clothes to the cleaners like I do,” Roy told her.

“Well do you have a scrub board; I don't trust the cleaners with leather?” She asked him.

“I don't know I'll have to go look, I'll be home at seven so start dinner around six oh and send my clothes to the cleaners will you. Thanks.” He told her. Jay growled.

“I'm not your fucking maid Mustang,” She cursed at him.

“Whoa calm down it was just a joke, will you fix lasagna tonight?” the only thing he got was a string of curses and a slammed phone. Jay looked at the clock. 12:30 it would take about an hour. Thirty minutes for preparation and thirty minutes to bake it. She went back to cleaning the house and then sat down in the living room to read. When she looked up at the clock it read 5:55. She got up and started to prepare the lasagna and to make garlic bread. When seven came around Roy came through the door and dropped off a box of paper work on the kitchen floor next to the table.

“Wow I was kidding when I asked you to make lasagna but hey that really smells good,” Roy said as he walked over to the oven to take a look. Jay smacked his hand away and pointed to the cupboards.

“Get the plates,” She said sternly as she grabbed a potholder and pulled out the lasagna. Roy's mouth watered it looked as good as it smelled. She pulled out the Garlic bread next and placed everything on the table. Roy placed the plates down on the table and sat down. There was a knock at the door.

“Shit, I forgot to tell you, a girl named Sarah called this evening looking for you,” Jay said as she went to answer the door. Roy stopped her and pulled her into the living room.

“It's her I know it is don't answer the door and pretend that no one is home,” Roy whispered to her.

“Why? Who is she?” Jay asked.

“Roooooooooooooooooooooy!!! Comon Bro open the door!” came a voice from the other side of the door.

“She's your sister?” Jay asked loudly and Roy covered her mouth.

“You got three seconds and one of them's gone to open this door or I'll break it down!” She shouted. Jay got an evil smile on her face and looked at Roy.

“No don't do it please I'm begging you, don't open the door,”

“It's unlocked sweetheart,” Jay said in a sing song voice. Roy tired to run and hide but Jay grabbed him threw him over her shoulder and walked to the front door. Then she dropped him when it opened.

“Hello you must be Jay, I'm Sarah Mustang, Roy's little sister. I see you got him to show his face, he rarely does,” She said as she pulled her brother up for a hug.

“Why would you be afraid of your little sister Roy?” Jay asked.

“When she shows up Father shows up, I don't think I can handle another one of his talks, and I wasn't afraid of my little sister…” Roy said running his hand thought his hair.

“Well about that, you see Father passed away a week ago and when you didn't answer your phone I came here to find you,” She growled at him. Roy's head tilted down.

“I'm sorry I didn't know,” He spoke lowly.

“I just made dinner would you like to stay and eat?” Jay asked her.

“Whoa hang on a minute; you're that chick that answered the phone!” She said pointing at her.

“Yes I am what about it,” she asked.

“Bro you got yourself a wife it's about time! She's kinda short but she'll do!” She laughed and patted her brother's back. He had a sheepish smile on his face and she looked over to Jay.

“Who you callin a half pint bean sprout midget! I'm not his wife and I'll never be his wife, he's 14 years older than me for crying out loud!” Jay shouted. Roy couldn't help but laugh at her statement.

“Come in Sarah, Jay made Lasagna!” Roy announced.

“Did I hear something about food?” a new voice piped in. Standing behind Sarah was Edward. He was wearing the usual black leather pants and black overcoat. But his signature red coat was missing.

“Edo, when did you get here?” Jay asked him.

“Just now, so did you cook or did Mustang?” Edward asked.

“Fullmetal what are you doing here?” Roy asked him.

“Making sure you don't try anything with my sister,” Edward glared at him and walked passed him to hug his sister.

“I assure you Jay can handle herself.” Roy told him.

“So they're brother and sister? You sure do look alike are you guys twins?” Sarah asked.

“Yes, Edward is the oldest though; alright everyone in the kitchen, the food's getting cold.” Jay told her. She said as she pushed Roy and Edward towards the kitchen and Sarah followed behind her laughing. Everyone sat down at the table and Jay looked expectantly at Roy.

“What?” He asked her.

“Get them plates Roy, I can't reach them,” Roy smirked and got down two more plates.

“Finally admitting you have a small problem huh?” Roy asked as he sat the plates in front of Edward and Sarah.

“I have no problem with my height, just when people make fun of it, but yeah if you consider Edo a problem then I do.” Edward glared daggers at his sister.

“Who you callin a half pint bean sprout with a growth complex!” Edward growled at Jay.

“You and only you Edo, hey that's a new one, did you think of that one all by yourself?” She laughed. As soon as Roy sat down they began to eat.

“This is great; who did you learn this from?” Roy asked Jay. She put her fork down and bowed her head.

“Mom taught me how to cook,” She said in a low voice. Roy mentally kicked himself.

“So Edward, what were you planning to do for our birthday?” Jay asked him. He swallowed the mouthful of food he had and she growled at him for eating it so fast.

“I donno I might be on a mission though, whatever you wanna do,” Edward answered her.

After dinner Jay got straight to cleaning the dishes and she pushed everyone else into the living room.

“I can handle the dishes on my own why don't you guys sit and talk,” She said as she walked back into the kitchen. Roy watched her go and tuned to talk to his sister. He caught a glare from Edward.

“So where have you been living all this time Sarah?” He asked her. But before she could answer they heard a crash from the kitchen. Roy was the first one up to see what had happened. When he got into the kitchen he saw Jay cleaning up glass from the floor and setting it on the table.

“Damn it to Hell!” She cursed then looked over to see Roy standing in the door frame of the kitchen. She blushed madly and went back over to the broken plate. She clapped her hands together and with a flash of blue light the plate was whole again. She tried to move a chair over to the cabinet to put the plates up but Roy stopped her.

“I'll do it, he said as he picked the plates up and put them in the cabinet. She flushed red again and went back to washing the dishes. She hissed when he hands came in contact with the water.

“You're not hurt are you?” He asked her. She shrugged her shoulders.

“Only my pride,” She said as she put the pot she had been washing in the next sink to rinse off. He walked up behind her and turned her around. She held her right hand to her chest covering it with her left hand. Roy pried the hand from the other's clutches and looked at it. There was a small cut from the tip of her index finger to the palm of her hand. He took the towel she had been drying the dishes with and wrapped the abused hand in it.

“You see Dr. Roy can take care of his patents.” He said with a grin. She flushed and growled at him taking her hand back from his.

“You're not a Doctor, but you can finish dishes while the real doctor takes care of this injury,” She said with a grin. Roy Mustang was never happier to wash his own dishes in his life. He watched her go and then that's when he noticed Edward and Sarah standing in the doorway.

“What?” He asked as he saw the looks on their faces. Sarah's was a giddy girlish look and Edward's was that crazy manic look he got when he got an evil idea.

“I'd say that was brownie points for the Stang wouldn't you?” Sarah asked Edward.

“Yeah, you two make such a cute, insert mass regurgitation, couple,” he said as he rolled his eyes.

“I take that as a blessing, you know, I think she likes me, she just wants to keep it as business like as possible. She needs to loosen up a bit,” Roy said as he put the last of the dishes away. He could hear Edward grumble but not shout at him. So he took it as a sign to pursue in the game of `Loosen the Knot'. Jay came back into the kitchen with a bandage over her hand.

“What did I miss?” She asked as she looked at each of their faces.

“Nothing Jay, Nothing at all,” Roy said with a smile on his face. This was going to be fun.
