Oi vey, a month. Yeah, I've been very lazy. Readin' doujinshi(I just got dragged kickin' and screamin' into Elricest), being an idiot, that stuff. So, without further ado,
Here's Your Chapter.
Book Eight
The dull light of a few candles lit the room and Ed sighed as he looked out the window at the blizzard that was still going strong after two days, his ear twitching slightly at the though of how cold it most likely was outside. He glanced down at his Alchemic notes and added some more, just as he had been doing for the past day.
Across the room, Roy was lying on his bed, watching Ed write diligently. “Fullmetal, how long are you going to keep that up? You can only go without food or drink for so long,” He said, breaking the silence that had been reigning between them for the past two hours. Ed put the pen back in its well and turned the chair so that he faced Roy.
The elder could see the black rings that lined Ed's eyes by the light of the candles. His normally bright eyes were dull from lack of sleep, his ears drooped and Roy could tell Ed was close to falling asleep where he sat. “Until this storm lets up, Colonel,” Ed replied, his eyes lightening up, if only by a bit. Roy scratched his ear and sighed, getting out of the bed and walking over to Ed. He could see Ed tense, his ears pull back. Ed yelped as Roy grabbed him around the waist and hoisted him over his shoulder. “What the fuck Bastard Colonel!” He yelled, hissing. Roy ears twitched.
“Fullmetal, you need food and sleep, and would you please not yell that loud? Dogs have better hearing and that just hurt me,” Roy replied, opening his bedroom door, knocking over Eric who had been listening in on them. “Country, as much as I enjoy your stupidity, now is not the time. I need you help with Fullmetal,” Ed hissed at Eric, baring his fangs and claws. Eric backed away and glanced at Roy.
“As much as I'd love to, I love my life more than forcing milk hating cats to drink milk,” He said, darting into Roy's room, closing and locking the door behind him. Roy glared as Ed smirked triumphantly and dug his claws into Roy's tail. The Colonel yelped and yanked Ed's tail. Ed yowled and released Roy's tail, the Colonel releasing his in turn. Ed gave Roy a watery glare and Roy just shrugged, somehow managing to get down the stairs with Ed on his shoulder.
Ed hissed slightly as Roy placed him on the table and went to get something from the fridge. The blonde watched Roy, his tail flicking back and forth slowly.
Roy sighed to himself as he pulled a can of tuna fish out of the fridge and grabbed a can opener from a nearby drawer. “Fullmetal, how do you like your tuna?” He asked, opening the can. Ed took a moment to think about this before he responded.
“Plain,” He responded, his nose quickly picking up the strong scent of the tuna. He reeled back, noticing just how much stronger the scent had become. “Dammit colonel, warm me how strong that stuff smells next time!” He cursed, jumping off of the table and walking over so that he could watch Roy better. Roy chuckled and emptied the water out of the can.
“Would you get me a bowl?” He asked, pulling the lid out of the can. Ed nodded and went to snatch one from the cupboard. Roy grinned as he watched Ed struggle to get at the bowl before he put the can of tuna down on the counter and grabbed one himself. Ed hissed and glared up at Roy, who just shrugged. “Just get the fork then,” Roy said with a small smile. Ed did just that and handed it to Roy; who used it to empty the tuna into the bowl before handing it to Ed. “You seem to be a tad less touchy on your height Fullmetal. What happened?”
Ed cast his eyes away from Roy and placed the bowl on the table and sat down, only to have Roy sit across from him; his head on his hands. Ed continued to ignore Roy until the uneasy silence gnawed away at him enough to cause him to speak. “I'm still in shock from shrinking,” Ed replied. Glancing down at his half-eaten tuna, he pushed it away and rested his head on the table. “And tired; so very tired.”
Roy smiled sympathetically and stood up, walking around the table. He put a hand on Ed's shoulder, the only response being a small twitch from Ed's ear. “Then sleep and we can plan how to get past this snow tomorrow,” Ed nodded and tried to get up before falling back into the seat, his eyes fogged by lack of sleep. “Apparently I'm going to have to carry you,” Roy sighed and picked Ed up bridal style, the blonde yelping as he threw his arms around Roy's neck to help his balance.
“What the hell, Mustang?” Edward huffed, wishing that he could cross his arms. Roy chuckled as he opened the bedroom door with his foot, only to find Eric as a wolf fast asleep on the bed.
“If you would give me a moment, Fullmetal,” Roy said, leaning down to place Ed down, before straitening back up. Ed blinked as he watched Roy push Eric off of the bed with a huff. Eric slept strait through it, hitting the ground with a dull thud. Roy sighed and motioned for Ed to get into the bed. To tired to fight back, Ed did and fell asleep almost instantly.
Roy grinned slightly and ran a hand through Ed's hair, getting a small purr in response. Chuckling, Roy put his arms around Ed's waist and fell asleep in that position.
Eric snuck as peek after he was sure Roy was asleep and smirked.
“Well, it seems that Hughes was right. Those two DO like each other,” He mumbled as he flopped back onto the floor, staring up at the ceiling. He spread his arms wide, hitting the bed. “Yeah, those two could stop snow now.”
------------
Mizu sneezed, rubbing her nose as she looked up from her work. Flamma glanced over at her and sighed. “Kitten, I believe that means to stop the snow.”
“Shut it.”
