Shido was decidedly a rooftop kind of fellow. No one really went up to the rooftops of buildings outside of Mugenjou, and therefore no one bothered him and he could watch the hustle and bustle of the city without being disturbed. It was nearly midnight, though, so Shido decided it was time to head back.

 

With a stretch and a yawn, Shido padded across the rooftop, the full moon above and the enhanced vision of cats' eyes made it seem as though he was out and about at high noon. Leaping from roof to roof, Shido wondered what kind of supper there would be waiting for him. Finally arriving at his destination, he climbed down the fire escape and squeezed through the window.

 

Kazuki looked up at the slight noise and smiled. “Ah, welcome back, Shido. How was your walk?”

Shido strolled into the kitchen and perched himself on the counter with an expectant look as Kazuki closed and locked the window.

 

“Yes, yes, of course, I haven't forgotten your dinner, it's right here,” Kazuki set down a plate of salmon and tuna sashimi, “There, enjoy.”

 

Shido made an appreciative noise as he began to eat.

 

“I spoil you.”

 

Shido ignored him as he finished his meal and hopped off the counter and padded into the bedroom, making sure Kazuki followed.

 

“Yes yes. I know. Bed time.”

 

Shido leapt up onto the bed and curled up on one of Kazuki's many pillows, paws curled delicately under him.

 

“Good night Shido.”

 

Shido the cat yawned widely before closing his eyes and settling into a fitful sleep.
