Yuki returned ten minutes after he had left, only now he had a coat-clad bellhop with a silver trolley in tow.
“Oh… so that's where he went,” Shuichi mumbled quietly as he put his arms into the sleeves of his downy winter jacket. The singer shivered slightly as the crinkly green fabric made contact with the warm skin of his arms.
“Brat, get out of the car!” Yuki hollered as he closed the trunk of the Mercedes with a soft thud.
“Oh…uh…right!” Shu called as he zipped up his jacket and clamored out of the vehicle into the snowy parking lot.
`It really is beautiful up here,' He thought as he gazed around himself at the breathtaking scenery that enveloped him as soon he stepped out of the warm car. Yuki cleared his throat and jerked his head towards the hotel.
The pink haired vocalist blushed in embarrassment and hurried along after his boyfriend as the blonde led the way to the doors.
`He's probably never been up here before,' Eiri thought as he strolled along at an even pace, one hand in his pocket, the other holding a cigarette to his mouth as he took a deep drag from it.
“So, Shuichi… what do you think of the mountains?” He asked the younger man quietly as they came up to the front doors of the hotel.
“Oh, they're beautiful Yuki,” Shuichi answered sheepishly as he watched the author crush out his cigarette in one of the sand filled stone basins that stood beside the front doors.
“I just wish it wasn't so cold…up…”
Shuichi's eyes suddenly grew wide as he got his first glimpse of the beautiful interior of the hotel lobby. All his depleted energy and enthusiasm returned to full power as he struggled to keep his excitement in check. While they were walking, Yuki had silently threatened to make him spend the entire trip locked in the car if he attracted even the slightest bit of unnecessary attention, so the singer was somewhat reluctant to open his mouth. He was afraid that something stupid would creep out if he wasn't careful to watch.
Even though Shuichi couldn't talk, he more than made up for it with his eyes as they struggled to drink in all the wonderful sights around him. Thick oak railings on the sweeping staircases, the minute gold colored specks in the marble floors and the two seating areas on either side of the front desk were all absolutely breathtaking. Each miniature living room was complete with a roaring fire, dark green upholstered furniture and silvery trimmed area rugs of the deepest blue.
Yuki grabbed Shuichi by the shoulder and led the dazed, but thankfully silent young man towards a pair of large elevator doors, the words `Park Suite' engraved elegantly on an oak plaque above them.
The tired novelist swiped one of the key cards he had received from the smiling, middle aged women at the front desk and the silvery- black doors in front of them slid open.
Shu, Eiri and the quiet bell boy (who had quite obviously never been up to the suite, much less escorted two extremely famous men there) strode into the small elevator car which was paneled from floor to ceiling with frosted mirrors, designed specifically to make the small space seem larger as well as more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
`Wow,' Shuichi thought happily as his eyes watched the never-ending duplicates of himself disappear deep within the mirror's surrounding him, 'He really went all out with this.'
With a shift of violet eyes, The boy's gaze fell onto his brooding lover and he wondered why it was so difficult for him to say the three little words that the singer himself spewed out almost every chance he got.
`He must care for me if he's willing to spend this much time and money on a special trip just for the two of us, so why is it so hard for him to say what he's showing? Why can't he just tell me that he loves me?'
Shuichi let out a frustrated, sorrow filled sigh just as the elevator shuddered to a halt.
Yuki was the first one to step out of the elevator when the doors slid open, openly choosing to ignore his lover's frustration. The tall blonde didn't exactly love being in small confined spaces, though his claustrophobia was just one of the numerous things that he would rather die than admit to.
Shuichi and the bellboy (who was more than a little bit aware of whose luggage he was carrying) followed suit. The lithe singer had tried not to notice the younger kid casting curious looks at him, as they occurred to often that they bordered on being one constant, continuous stare. Unfortunately, Shu hadn't been able to discern if the mousy looking, brown haired young man had been staring at him because of who he was, because he was afraid to ask for an autograph or because he was with Eiri. Either way it wasn't highly appreciated.
Yuki wandered deeper into the room as he waited for Shuichi and the bellboy.
The room looked exactly how it had in the pictures the novelist had looked at. He casually turned to his lover, a look of dreary boredom on his beautiful face.
Shuichi could not believe where he was standing. Eiri saw the glittery look in the boy's eyes and hurriedly tipped the bellboy before the already gawking teenager had a chance to witness Shu's ecstatically energetic reactions to everything. There was only so much the brat could take before he cracked and the desperate author knew his lover was probably already dangerously close to having a meltdown as it was.
Finally, the elevator door closed with a dense thud and the blonde let out his breath. He didn't care how Shuichi acted, now that they were alone.
“So, what do you think?” Eiri asked, hiding the concern in his voice with mastery. The effeminate singer turned a full three sixty in the middle of the room, his mouth slightly open. He stared up at the vaulted loft to the left of the elevator, the high beamed ceilings and then back down the beautiful mahogany paneled walls to the lush red and white carpet he was standing on. As he continued to gaze down at his boots, his well-contained tears of complete satisfaction and joy began to flow silently from his beautiful, dark purple eyes and down his smiling face.
Without saying a word he walked over to the love of his life and pulled him into a soft passionate kiss, his fingers twining instinctively in Yuki's silky blonde hair as his lips melded with his lover's.
The novelist had expected something along the lines of a rib-crushing hug and a fit of giggles, but this was far more enjoyable and considerably more mature.
`Maybe the brat's finally decided to grow up a little,' Yuki thought as he unconsciously brought his right hand up to brush tenderly against Shuichi's face.
The two broke away from each other and the young singer just smiled at his boyfriend with affection and adoration. Eiri glanced around the room and nodded in approval.
“It'll do,” He said nonchalantly as if it were nothing more than a cheap motel room rented merely for the purpose of sleeping. It didn't surprise Shuichi when the first thing the novelist did after arriving was to reach into his coat pocket for his cigarettes.
The older man walked past his lover and over to the stark white curtains that hung from ceiling to floor and covered the entire northern wall.
Yuki pushed one of the buttons on the wall and the long drapes began to glide out of sight. As they drew back, the most beautiful sight he`d ever seen met his eyes.
The whole north wall was a window, save for the sturdy mahogany trimmed sliding doors in the center that led to the stone balcony. What lay beyond the window stole Yuki's breath.
The window overlooked the entire frozen lake, which was currently covered by a soft, downy blanket of pristine white snow. The round lights that were spread out every twenty-five feet or so along the asphalt-walking path that ran around the entire perimeter of the small lake were casting a soft, almost angelic light over the area. Each one of the unique, multifaceted flakes of crystalline mountain snow in the valley reflected the unobstructed light of the full moon back up into the satiny black sky, making the whole valley glow a soft hazy white. The gentle glow matched those of the shimmering rings which encircled each and every one of the dainty stars that speckled the cloudless heavens.
The complete serenity of the sight had a calm, humbling affect on Eiri and he wasn't quite sure why. Maybe because he was an author and always loved to add to his personal bank of first hand experience, or maybe because he had always been a fan of scenic beauty. Either way, he was stricken with awe.
Without thinking, Eiri went and grabbed Shuichi around the waist, gently leading him towards the window so he too could see the amazing scene. The blonde writer had an unexplainable, uncharacteristic urge to be close to his lover and, instead of ignoring it as one half of him wanted to, he embraced and welcomed the other half with open arms.
`Maybe it's a sign,' Yuki pondered as he draped himself over Shu's warm back, his thoughts running away to a pair of black socks he had tucked away in his suitcase. Eiri's strong arms hung down and around the singer's neck, hips hugging tightly to his lower back.
“Yuki, it's so beautiful,” Shuichi commented softly as his hands went up to grasp his lover's forearms and pull the man closer to him.
`He's being so nice to me,' The happy vocalist thought as he concentrated on the strong warm body pressed against his back.
Eiri wasn't sure what it was that made him want to be so close; To feel the singer's pulse beating through him, to crush him in his embrace.
“Shuichi… I…” Muttered the author as his lover turned in his firm grasp. The pink haired young man was now looking up at Eiri with the brilliant, still teary, violet eyes that the blonde could lose himself in if he had half the chance.
“Yes, Yuki?” The boy asked as he turned to lay his cheek parallel with his lover's firm, chest.
“This is… I did this all for you, you know,” The novelist said awkwardly as he unconsciously started to stroke Shu's bright pink hair.
“I … I know, Eiri,” The singer acknowledged softly, almost inaudibly, “Thank you so much. You… don't know how much… this means to me.”
Shuichi brought his hand up with the intent of wiping the tears from his eyes, but his lover caught it gently before it could reach its intended destination.
“Don't cry,” Yuki said softly as he brushed the tears away with his thumb, “I can't stand it when you cry.”
The confused novelist pulled Shuichi's chin upwards and kissed him as gently as he knew how. The feel of the young man's soft, full lips under his own sent tingles running up and down his spine. The vocalist felt his lover shudder slightly and he knew what he needed to do.
Shuichi parted his lips invitingly and Yuki immediately took up his role as seme and plunged his tongue deep between his lover's lips. The author tasted and stroked the boy's mouth and tongue with his own, drawing a harsh moan from him that further deepened their kiss.
Slowly, but repeatedly, the singer ground and bucked his hips against Eiri in a primitive attempt to relieve some of the uncomfortable heat that was pooling in his groin.
As his lover continued to grind his hips against him smoothly, Eiri's pants were growing increasingly tight and he couldn't have been more thankful for Shuichi's eagerness to get into them. The pink haired boy distractedly loosened Eiri's black leather belt and slowly, painfully undid the top button and zipper of his dress pants. These actions allowed Yuki's growing erection some much appreciated freedom.
The older man let out his breath slowly and raggedly as his boyfriends quick little hands pulled his pants down around his feet. Slowly, cautiously, he was coaxed down onto the rich red carpet in front of the window by firm, but gentle pressure applied to places Yuki didn't even know he had.
“Shuichi, where did you learn how to do that?” The blonde asked his puzzling young lover as the boy continued to launch a nimble assault on his muscles.
The singer was glad that Eiri had his eyes closed to concentrate more fully on the firm massage he was currently administering with clumsy accuracy to some of his more tender areas, because he was blushing and even darker shade of red than the carpet they were sitting on.
“I…uh…I…got a…a subscription to…cosmo…politan magazine,” Shuichi stammered out slowly as he busied himself with removing Yuki's socks.
“There was this massage in last months issue and I …well… I just never got the chance to try it out on you before now is all.”
The novelist tried desperately not to laugh, but the idea of Shuichi with his nose buried in a magazine dedicated strictly to sex tips for women, make up advice and fashion critiques of the stars was just too hilariously imaginable to simply be ignored.
He started to chuckle softly at first but in a matter of seconds he was shaking his head and laughing harder then Shuichi had ever heard him laugh before.
“I'm sorry …it's just…this is so like you!” Yuki explained through declining levels of gasping and laughing as he desperately tried to keep his outburst under control.
Shuichi frowned and crossed his arms over his chest.
“The only reason I subscribed to that stupid magazine was for you Yuki!” he shouted before quickly covering his mouth in embarrassment. He hadn't meant to yell and Eiri was now just staring at him blankly, all the humor suddenly gone. The boy couldn't tell whether his lover was angry or not.
“I … I just wanted to get better at this whole thing so… so that I could please you more. That's all I wanted… Yuki,” He said softly as he rested his forehead on his knees and wrapped his arms around his legs, pulling himself into as small of a ball as he could.
The novelist, who was now quite calm, immediately regretted his outburst of laughter at Shuichi's expense when he saw his lover's small shoulders begin to shudder and heard the depressing sound of him trying to cover up his sobs by holding his breath. The kid did that a lot because he didn't want to seem childish, especially when he had done something stupid and gotten yelled at for it.
`I didn't mean to make him upset,' Eiri thought sadly as he inched his way over to Shu's side.
“I didn't mean to laugh at you,” He lulled calmly as he wrapped his arms around his lover's still shaking form, “I appreciate what you did for me and I'll have to admit, whatever you were doing was working and working well.”
Shuichi lifted his head from his knees and turned to look into his lover's smiling face. In a split second he was uncurled and had launched himself around Yuki's neck.
The boy buried his face in the author's chest as the older man wrapped his arms around him and patted his head soothingly to say that he truly appreciated what he had done, and that he wasn't angry.
“I love you so much, Eiri,” The singer gasped softly as he sniffled and brought his head up to rest tenderly in the crook of his lover's neck.
Yuki sighed and continued to hug the boy he had grown to love and care for tighter to him, as he realized how precious moments like these were to him.
“I…I love you too… Shuichi,” He whispered quietly into his lover's ear as he closed his eyes and lost himself in the power of what he had just been able to say.
The pink haired vocalist was still in a daze after hearing the three powerful words that he had longed for his lover to utter to him since the first time he himself had realized he was in love with the blonde.
He was also blissfully unaware of the slow, silent tears flowing painfully from Eiri's closed eyes as the older man began the process of making peace with and releasing the ghost in his heart.
`I'm sorry…Yuki,' The blonde declared silently as he made peace with both the good and bad memories of his first true love, his beloved sensei, Kitazawa. He was finally able to let them lay peacefully to rest in his heart, as they should have been permitted to do many years ago. All he could do to comfort himself was to cling ever tighter to Shuichi who, six months ago, had merely been a replacement for a corpse.
`Things are going to start changing,' Yuki decided firmly in his mind as his tiny lover snuggled deeper into his chest, already fast asleep.
`It's time…to admit to all these things I've been feeling for him. Shuichi…you have the right to hear it and to know just how much I really do… love you.'
