Warm hands slid over shoulders and back, fingers trailing along her sides and arms, gently coaxing her awake. Awareness came slowly in the prepubescent hours of dawn in warm curls of pleasure as she stretched and arched into the touch like a cat; golden eyes blinked open blurrily, and she titled her head back to catch a peek of her early morning visitor.

"You shouldn't be here," she murmured, moving to shift over, pleased that he had come anyway.

"Shh," he cautioned. "It'll be all right," he promised, kissing her chin and then lower along her breast bone.

Her arms lifted and wrapped comfortably around his neck as he climbed further onto the bed, burying his face against her chest. She mumbled something that might have been encouragement as his mouth closed over one already hardened nipple, sucking greedily and licking lavishly. His hands continued to move over her body, caressing and teasing her skin into heightened awareness so that when he finally guided her thighs apart he found her hot and moist and ready.

"Tell me you want me," he breathed against her chest, levering himself up to look down at her flushed face.

"You know I do," she told him, pulling him to her.

"Tell me?" he asked, meeting her kiss with willing lips and tongue.

"I love you," she answered, welcoming the deep and penetrating feel of him against her, inside her with gasps and groans.

"Want me," he repeated.

"Harder."

"Need me," he asked.

"More."

"Don't leave me," he pleaded.

"Don't stop!"

"Cagalli!" he cried, feeling himself spill over until he was more than just himself but a part of something larger.

She drew him against her, cradling him within the comfort of her arms and body, encouraging him gently. "Yes, there," she murmured, running her hands down his shoulders and back. "It's all right. I'm not going anywhere."

"But you're still going to marry him." It was a deadened statement, devoid of accusation or question.

"Yes," she confirmed, forcing his face up to look at her. "But you are still the one I want," she whispered, brushing her lips against his. "The one I need; the one I can't live without. You're the one I love," she insisted, pressing her tongue into his mouth and drawing his out.

He gave to her willingly, his body buried so intimately against hers. He was always in awe over how well they fit together, pieces of a puzzle they hadn't known the picture of and so had fit together in a way that felt most right, most natural for them.

"Kira!" she cried out, tearing her mouth from his as he began to move again. "Yes..."

He gasped, burying his face against her throat, and she held onto him, urging him further along towards that mindless void. He didn't want to think, didn't want to remember, that in a few short hours' time she would marry another man, would legally bind herself to another person, a person who wasn't him. And he would have to stand by and watch helplessly.

"Cagalli, I--"

"Love me, Kira," she gasped.

"I do! Oh, gods, I do," he insisted.

"Kira," she whispered hoarsely, dragging his face up to hers again. "Come for me, Kira. Come inside me."

Her legs locked around his thighs, holding him against her when he immediately tried to pull away. "But," he tried to protest.

"Do it, Kira," she ordered, gently kissing along his face until she found his lips with hers. "I want you to. I want you inside me, a part of me, always."

"God, Cagalli, you... I..."

He was always so careful with her, and she appreciated it, but it always left her feeling so empty when he pulled away from her before finding his own release. She wanted it, wanted him, inside her, in this most intimate way. Maybe more so today than ever before because it was to be her wedding day. She would marry a man she didn't love, but that didn't matter. Love matches were rare in this day and age, even if one was lucky enough to find someone they could be in love with.

That she had found someone she loved didn't mean she could marry him. She knew that, and so did Kira. She could have chosen to remain single. She could have even had an heir without needing to be married, but to leave a child to be raised by nannies and nursemaids---? That wasn't something she wanted. So she had chosen a husband for herself based on logic and the best fit for her and for Orb.

It was better this way.

Still, some small rebellious portion of her demanded that she have this tiny thing for herself. That she have this precious bit of her lover with her, part of her, when she married. She wanted it, more desperately than she'd wanted anything else in this world, and she would have it, she knew. Kira rarely denied her anything, and even if he'd held himself back from her previously, this time, she knew, he wouldn't. He would give himself to her, fully.

"Give yourself to me," she whispered, brushing her lips against his, running her fingers down his back. "All of yourself, Kira. Don't hold back from me. I want you, Kira, inside of me, a part of me. Do it; come inside me, give yourself to me, Kira."

"Cagalli," he answered harshly, pressing his mouth against hers fiercely, his tongue filling her mouth.

Hands hooked under her knees and forced her legs up. She gasped as the new angle penetrated her sharply, and she didn't think she could take much more. "Kira! Please!"

"You have me," he gasped, hips rocking forward and locking. "All of me, everything of me. I'm yours."

She took him against her, held him fast, pulled at him, encouraging him to give more of himself, share all of it with her, and only when he began to recover did she allow him to slide away from her.

"You didn't," he began sadly.

She shook her head. "Not yet." She grabbed his hand and pulled it against her breast. "Make me."

"I--" But the doubt and the moral sense of wrongness had begun to cloud the clean pristine shine of love and need and desire that had brought him back to her bed in the dark of night.

"No one can make me cum like you, Kira," she breathed, pressing her breast into his palm. His hand closed reflexively, molding, massaging. "Touch me. Love me."

"Cagalli," he breathed, falling against her again. Lips and teeth trailed along the column of her throat and down one shoulder. His hands moved over her, playing her knowledgably.

"More, Kira," she begged, arching into his touch. "Again."

"I can't," he whispered brokenly. "Please."

"Don't leave," she gasped, clutching at him when he started to pull away.

"It's getting late," he said, looking away. "We shouldn't do this again."

"You want me," she returned, pulling him down against her. "I want you," she added, rolling them over and laying against him. "Touch me. Love me."

"Cagalli...."

"One more time," she bargained. "And then you can go." He wouldn't look at her, but she turned his face back to hers. "Make love to me, Kira, one more time."

"I can't," he said. "One more time will never be enough."

"It will have to be enough," she answered, kissing him gently, teasingly. "Until I return."

He started against her, but she held him steady, sliding over him and straddling his waist. "I'm not leaving you," she repeated. "You are mine. My heart, my life, my soul. I won't give you up, Kira, not even for Orb. Husband or no husband."

"Cagalli, that--"

She shushed him, rubbing against him as she hovered over him. "Mine," she repeated, canting her hips until she could slide onto him without his help.

"Mine," she repeated, more forcibly, sitting up and taking him deeply inside her. His hands ran up her thighs and gripped her waist, steadying her as her hands splayed against his chest. "Mine, Kira, you're mine."

"Yours," he agreed, pulling her down against him.

"Always, forever."

"Yes."

"Say it, Kira; tell me," she demanded softly.

"Yours, always and forever, Cagalli. Only," he gasped.

"And nothing will change that," she vowed, kissing him again, her tongue sliding in and against his, her breasts tender and sore crushing against his chest as he held her tightly. "No matter what, Kira," she insisted. "You're a part of me, forever."

"Cagalli!"

She leaned up, the better to move against him, with him. "Again, Kira," she hissed. "One more time, come for me, Kira, please."

"Cagalli," he protested, but again she held him fast to her.

"Love me, Kira; give yourself to me wholly. I won't ask you again," she promised.

And he did, clinging to her as he freed himself. She drank it in, drank in the sweet taste of victory even as she brushed tiny gentling kisses along his face and shoulders.

For a long moment, he simply held her to him, fingers pressed possessively into her skin, as if he could imprint his ownership of her. She didn't mind, not in this moment when she could still feel his warmth inside her.

And then he shifted away. "I should go now," he said softly. "You'll need to start getting ready soon."

"Not for another hour or two," she corrected, but she let him go, laying back in the mused sheets as she watched him stand and retrieve the sleep shorts and tee shirt that he still insisted he preferred to wear over the fancy pajamas she'd offered to get him.

He paused, looking down but refusing to turn around. "Cagalli... this... we shouldn't do this anymore," he tried to tell her.

She studied him as he stood there, her body still warm and tingling from their passion, and knew this wouldn't be the last time. Still, she answered him as she always did, "If that's what you want."

He fought with himself, the same way she fought with herself, but finally he found the will to walk away, quietly whispering that he would see her later. She let him leave, wondering if this really would be the last time he would come to her.

Closing her eyes, curling up on her side, hands cradling her middle, Cagalli smiled secretively. Kira was a part of her, always and forever, and nothing would ever change that.
