ML: Well, chapter seven's here!

 

Sai: So, here's the plot line for all of you who are joining us for the first time. While Lacus and Kira reacquaint themselves with one another, Athrun gets some very useful information about Lacus' dead boyfriend, Wayne. Anyway, M doesn't own GS, but he does own all the characters that come from his imagination!

 

ML: Yes… that's the gist of it, and there might be more lemons in the future, so if you're under legal age, PLEASE LEAVE! ROLL FILM!

 

 

Chapter Seven: Another day, Another Try at Murder

 

Kira woke up the next morning, and looked over to the girl that was sleeping beside him. All at once did the memories of last night come crashing back down in his head. It began with the request from Athrun to get down to the railway crossing, taking Lacus home, and the sex. Oh yes… the sex. Lacus then woke up and said, “Mmmm… good morning handsome.”

 

“Good morning right back at you, beautiful.” Kira replied. “What was that last night?”

 

“Mmmm… the answer to that would be me loving you.” Lacus answered. Just as she applied another kiss to Kira, the doorbell rang. Kira broke the kiss, put on a bathrobe, and ran down the steps. It was Athrun.

 

“Hey Kira, time to relieve you of your shift, pal.” Athrun said.

 

“Ok.” Kira replied, as Lacus came downstairs.

 

“Well, I can see we both kissed and made up.” Athrun quipped, trying to stifle guffaws. “Good morning Lacus. Anyway, can I borrow Kira for a bit?” he asked.

 

“Go ahead.” Lacus answered. Athrun then dragged Kira aside.

 

“So, what's going on?” Kira asked.

 

“Here's the information. I was about to go to sleep, and I get this call. Turns out it's one of Dearka's colleagues, who is undercover. You'll meet him at this address.” Athrun explained, as he wrote it down.

 

Kira took the address, looked at it, and said, “All right. It'll be done.” He waved at Lacus, who blew him a kiss, and drove off.

 

Athrun, who smiled at this, asked, “So, are you guys back together or something?”

 

“You're not going to get anything from me, Athrun.” Lacus said.

 

Meanwhile, Kira made it over to Joey's Ristorante, and Enrique flagged him over. “What is it you wanted to talk to me about?” Kira asked. It was then that Enrique told him everything from how Wayne spent most of his money at the track and as a result, was dragged back into the Livorno family.

 

“Not only did Wayne jack up ticket prices, there's also the fact that Lacus' lawyers are suspected money launderers too.” Enrique explained. “Of course, some of the police and judges can't do jack crap about the Livornos too. I hear they're being bribed.”

 

“Whoa.” Kira said.

 

“Plus, you may have experienced what the Livornos do to the family and friends of witnesses. They make them, for the lack of a better saying, sleep with the fishes.” Enrique said, as he checked his watch, “I gotta get.” Both men shook hands, and Kira walked out while Enrique flagged over a waiter. “Check please.”

 

The morning had passed by pretty quick. However, it was afternoon now, and it was quiet; `A little TOO quiet', thought Athrun. He was right. He checked the sitting room where Lacus was and saw the guys coming up carrying Uzis and AK-47s. He ran over to Lacus and pushed her out of the way as the first stream of bullets went through the windows. After making sure Lacus was safe, Athrun took aim at each gangster and fired. But then, he saw another gangster throw a Molotov cocktail through the window, and then another. Athrun then grabbed Lacus by the wrist and ran out of the house, just as it caught fire. He made a call to Kira and Dearka, and waited.

 

It wasn't long before both arrived at the scene, as it was right after the firefighters arrived. Dearka looked over and said, “Well, the Livornos really are trying harder, I'll give them that.”

 

“Quit it with the jokes, Dearka! Can't you see Lacus is traumatized? I mean, someone tried to kill her!” Kira said.

 

“Anyway, we're sending one of the guys caught near the scene to the station.” Dearka said.

“Lacus…” Kira said, as he approached her. “Talk to me…”

 

“Why? WHY WOULD SOMEONE WANT TO KILL ME?” Lacus screamed. “WHAT HAVE I EVER DONE?”

 

“I don't know, but forget, we're all trying to protect you.” Kira said as Lacus embraced him, and cried in his arms.
