The Year Long Contest Chapter 5: The Next Day

It was around six am, everything was peaceful and quiet. That is, until the alarm clocks started to ring. These were no ordinary rings at either, instead, they were annoying songs. Annoying, and quite loud songs.

"I'm a Barbie girl! In a Barbie world! Life in plastic, is fantastic! You can brush my hair! Undress me ever--" and with that, Vegeta destroyed the clock to room number one. This of course startled the others awake.

"Mission complete," Heero mumbled, half-asleep still. Then he shook his head, and realized he wasn't in the war anymore. Looking about, he remembered he had first period, so jumping out of bed, he went to take a shower. Once he was ready, he walked out, and found Wufei waiting outside for him.

"What song did you wake up to," the Japanese boy asked casually, walking along with the other Asian. Suppressing a yawn, he responded with, "Blue da ba something. I don't really remember. You?"

"Something annoying, but that guy with all his hair sticking up destroyed the clock before I could get it stuck in my head," Heero explained.

"You're luckier than me then," someone interrupted, popping up from behind. It was Trowa, and quirking their brows at him, they waited for him to explain with, "The song that played in our room was, 'Can't get you out of my head,' and sadly enough, I can't get it out of my head."

"Trowa, you suck at telling jokes," the Japanese boy stated, shaking his head. The Latin boy merely shrugged, and stated, "I'm sorry that my humor isn't as sadistic as you'd like."

"I'm not sadistic," Heero stated, a little offended.

"It was a joke," the green-eyed boy explained, earning a laugh at least from the raven-haired boy. Still a little upset, the brown-haired boy went into class along with Wufei and hoped whatever work they were given was easy and didn't require too much effort. Sure, there was a time when he had lived for the mission, but that was before meeting his friends.

"Good morning everyone! I pretty much recognize you all, so I don't need to take roll. Now I'd like to start the class by asking you a question. How many shark species do you know?"

Apparently, Vanny was going to teach shark anatomy to the class, and she was even going to make a little game out of it by seeing who named off the most sharks. The winner receiving five points for knowing the most. Sadly, not many of them were shark fans, or really cared for the predatory fish. So none seemed to name any, except tiger shark and great white. That was, until third period.

"How many sharks can you name? Please raise your hand, and tell me all the ones you know of," the light blue-eyed girl asked for the third time that day. Raising her hand up immediately, Wachey stated, "Tiger shark, great white, bull shark, blue shark, whale shark, cookie cutter shark, white tip reef shark, black tip reef shark, mako, thresher shark, leopard shark, port Jackson's shark, and the goblin shark!"

"Well, I think we found our winner for today's little game, unless someone can name off anymore," Vanny asked, surprised. The other students merely shook their heads, and glared slightly at the Hispanic girl who was just very excited.

"Okay then, here you go, make sure to give that to your score keeper," the peachy-pink haired girl said, handing over a piece of paper with five points to team seven, written on it. Then as she handed out some worksheets, Matthew whispered to his leader, "Hey, are you a shark fan or what?"

"Well, I did watch shark week on Discovery Channel nearly all the time when I was a kid," she replied. Nodding, the brown-eyed boy took the sheet that was handed to him, and thought, /My leader is such a dork. /

The worksheet they were handed out had a large shark drawn on it, and then all it's insides as well. It then had lines pointing towards it, and blanks for them to fill in.

Meanwhile, at breakfast, the Asian boys, along with Duo, decided to hang out in the cafeteria and wait for the other two pilots to eat along with them. You'd think they'd go off and hang out with their supposed girlfriends, but no, they weren't. Instead, the girls were busy on the beach, chatting, or collecting sea shells.

"You know, I'm really starting to agree with Quatre on this whole spy thing. Ever since we met them, they haven't done anything the least bit suspicous," Wufei stated, breaking the tension between the three. The other two merely looked at him, and then went back to staring at their empty plates. After about an hour, they were joined by the other two pilots who had yet to eat breakfast.

"Why is everyone so quiet," the blonde boy asked right away. Getting up, the braded boy replied, "I'm out of here. I'll see you guys later."

"Did one of you say something to upset him," Trowa asked. He received two shakes of the head as an answer. Gesturing with his uncovered eye, he prompted for them to tell more. Seeing as Yuy wouldn't, the Chinese boy said, "I merely stated that maybe those girls from team seven aren't spies."

"They aren't. They're just girls participating in this contest along with us," Quatre stated, having decided to just have one waffle. Watching them converse, the Hispanic girl took her time walking towards the booth with her friends. /Hm...I really need to find time to masterbate. If I don't I'm afraid I'll jump Wufei in my sleep or something! /

"Hey, did we get any homework today," Yusuke asked Wachey, startling the hell out of her. Shaking her head to his question, she walked on to join her team mates at a booth. When she sat down, Freya asked, "What did he ask you?"

"Oh, if we had any homework. I told him I'd do his work if he ate with Wufei and I yesterday," the hazel-eyed girl explained to her friend, and then looked at the menu. Then she remembered, "Oh yeah, Abi! Our teacher gave me this. Here you go."

"Hey, I noticed you were staring at the gundam pilots, which one were you staring at," the dirty-blonde asked as she took the paper. Blushing slightly, Wachey answered, "Wufei..."

"Wow, you like him? Why," another one of the girls asked. Looking down, the girl merely said, "I just do."

Sighing, the sapphire-eyed girl got up, and left to go to her room to add the points to their score sheet. However, she was followed by a certain braded boy. He was just doing this to see if she was a spy, or at least that's what his mind was saying. Either way the other girls just sat, deciding what to order. Today's menu was: burgers, with a side dish of fries or a potato.

"What are we learning today," Nenagh asked, somewhat bored, and ending the uncomfortable silence that had filled their booth.

"The insides of sharks. Other than that nothing. Oh, we got to work on a worksheet." With that, they were quiet again. After lunch, and after the classes, everyone was pretty much left with just going to the beach. This time, those who didn't have bathing suits, were given some from the staff members.

"Wow Inu Yasha, you look cute in your red swim trunks" Kagome teased, earning a glare in response. Either way she went off to play with Sango and a few other girls with a beach ball. Suddenly, a terrible windstorm seemed to be heading in the direction of the beach. Yet as fast as it had started, the faster it ended, because all it was were Jin and Koga racing each other.

"Yo, Kagome, call dog-breath and your other friends! We're supposed to have another team meeting," the wolf-demon explained, waving to the girl. As for the other demon next to him, he was having a bit of trouble finding his team. So going upto a girl with dirty-blonde, frizzy hair, he asked, "Say lass, have you seen my team?"

"Huh? Oh, uh...over there," Nenagh responded, blushing slightly. Nodding his thanks, the wind demon quickly left towards the direction she had pointed to. /Oh, he's so cute, / she thought before leaving to follow her friends. Soon everyone retreated into their huts, and wondered what this meeting could be about.

"We realize that the beach can only offer so much fun, so we've decided to come up with other means of entertainment. We need you guys to vote on what day you'd like to have a Hawaiian party. That and have you suggest movies we can watch on Saturdays, which have been labeled movie night," Nikki explained to the gundam team.

"Um, why not after we finish all the contests for this month," Quatre suggested first. The others merely nodded, too tired and bored to care.

"Any...movie suggestions," Kikyo asked, not used to saying that word. The priestess felt somewhat odd, seeing as a few of her group glared at her, specifically a few of the girls. Then again, one of the girls seemed to really like her.

"Um, 50 first dates! Oh, and Jaws! Um....Bend it like Beckham," Wachey suggested first thing, trying to remember some movies with tropical themes to them. Hopefully they had all of those movies, and the prospect of a party was fun.

Inside hut four, the Z-fighters were deciding what day would be best to celebrate the party. Somewhat confused, Goku asked, "Is it a reward? Will there be food there? Actual dancing? Shouldn't we have Chichi come along for this? I think she'd be mad at me if I had fun without her."

"Uh, Goku, I don't think your wife would be that mad," Trunks stated. He then suggested, "Why not have it after all the contests? It only makes sense. You know, as a going away type of party from the island."

"Good idea," was all Piccalo said, before writing it down on the board.

The majority seemed to vote on having the party after all of the contests were done, and only teams six and seven suggested movies to watch. Either way they were glad to return to the beach, and splash in the water. Only, there was a slight problem.

"Aeka! Something bit me," Sasami stated, an immense stinging pain on her calf.

"What happened? What did this," the older princess asked. Attracting everyone's attention, those with good eye sight looked out onto the ocean. They then spotted a couple of jellyfish floating nearby.

"Why did they appear so suddenly," Sango asked.

"Probably for killing off one of their predators yesterday," Ryoko explained, actually remembering something she had learned in class. The space pirate than flew into the air to retrieve the nurse. Flying her over, the silver-haired lady had brought along some antibiotics for the sting. Looking at the wound, then towards the jellyfish coming closer to shore, she ordered, "No one is to swim today. We'll have our security staff get rid of the problem. Meantime, I want Sasami to apply this to her leg for the next three days. It'll go away, and leave no scaring what-so-ever."

"All right, oh, poor Sasami," Aeka stated, hugging her sister. This of course was bad news for everyone else, because it meant the end of their fun. As they left into the public showers, to wash off sand, Sesshoumaru, Koga, Piccalo, and Jin were told to get rid of the jellyfish.

"Why do we have to do this? Why couldn't they hire some professionals," Jin asked, but the others couldn't tell what he had said with his strong accent.

In the showers, the girls left into the girls, who got to have private stalls, while the boys had to shower in just one big room. A large drain in the center of it all. Oh the unfairness. It didn't help that the water the shower gave them was cold. Then there was the fact that sand got everywhere, and we do mean EVERYWHERE! Some poor guys had to remove their swim trunks in order to remove all the sand.

One of those few, was Duo, and after receiving a few stares, he stated, "Hey you don't look so big yourself! The water is cold! Besides, it's not the size of the boat, it's the motion of the ocean!"

"Well I don't know about you, but it takes a long time to get to England on a row boat," a girl voice suddenly stated. Turning, they found it to be Candis standing with a few towels in her arms.

"Ah! What are you doing here!? This is the boy's shower stalls," Kuwabara yelled, covering his package. The other guys doing the same, except Vegeta, who didn't feel he had to hide anything. Smirking, she replied with, "I'm just here to drop off the extra towels. Later boys."

With that she left them to continue bathing.

That took a bit to write, but thanks to the creater of Candis' character, I was able to finish! So thank her, as well as me. Anyway, I'm off to write the next chapter. Enjoy!
