Once his wife had disappeared down the hallway and he heard the quiet click of their bedroom door, the Chinese man nodded to his comrades, "Your rooms are upstairs," he said and turned slowly making his way upstairs, the two weary lovers in tow.

What song is that? A soft melancholic tune drifted to sleeping ears, which unconsciously recognized the familiar hum. The song was so sad, yet so beautiful, and full lips pursed gently in confusion. The small figure on the bed rustled slightly as his large eyes fluttered open and blinked as bright early morning sun hit them. Almond-shaped crystal blue eyes opened slightly and noticed the blonde figure huddled over at the foot of his bed folding clothes and humming softly to herself.
Hearing slight movement from in front of her, the blonde looked up and sky blue met ocean blue and the woman's red stained lips quirked into a pretty smile. "Morning, sleepy head," she said, not stopping in folding her clothes. She could hear the other stir, and sit up slightly before she looked up again, "How are you feeling, honey?" she asked looking the other over carefully. The dark mop of hair merely nodded in response and deep set blues watched pale fingers fold the freshly washed clothes.
Suddenly the events of the previous night flooded his thoughts, as a set of large amethyst eyes and a cheeky smile came to mind. The Japanese had to resist the frown that tugged at his lips as he wondered when and if the other in front of him would tell him about the visitors who had arrived last night. However, as that train of thought came to an end he realized the woman was speaking, even though her head was down. "Quatre and the others came in late last night, " she said, still not bothering to look up. The braided doctor seemed so focused on the task at hand as she stared down at her hands continuing before the other could speak, "Duo and his son are with Trowa and Quatre, like I said yesterday." Her tone was cautious and slow before she risked a glance up only to see the boy staring out his bedroom window with a blank look.
She sighed and put the clothes she was holding down onto the bed gently and walked around to sit next to the Japanese. "Heero," she asked softly, not wanting to startle the other and she reached her hand up to his cheek. The slender man blinked and turned into the hand on his cheek and smiled a tiny smile. The smile caused the braided blonde to hold in a sigh of relief. He seemed fine, she thought and suddenly an excited grin spread over her cheeks and she quickly grasped both of the others hands within her own. "Heero, I have great news," her smile was infectious and the dark headed boy found himself smiling back at her in curiosity. Nearly squealing in her excitement, she squeezed the hands within her own, "I'm pregnant," she said, her tone high.
Midnight blue eyes widened momentarily, then softened and quivered slightly, "I'm so happy for you Sally," he said and leaned forward to kiss her cheek softly. The blue-eyed woman couldn't have a bigger smile as she pulled the small youth into a tight hug. "How far along are you?" the muffled question came from her shoulder.
Leaning back she sighed happily and looked at the boy before her, "Almost four…" Suddenly her eyes widened and her face turned a sickly pallor as she brought her hands up to her mouth.
"Sally?" The Japanese native asked, his face tight with worry at the changing color in the pale woman's face. She stood up suddenly, startling the brunette and darted from his bed into his adjoined bathroom. Heero winced as he could hear the sick noises from the other in the bathroom, and turned to gingerly step out from under the covers. Padding unsteadily over to his bathroom he bit his lip seeing the other bent over the toilet, attempting to hold her hair back. He hurried over to her awkwardly and grabbed her hair gently, rubbing her back soothingly with his other hand and trying to calm her with his voice.
Spitting the last bit of her breakfast out, the blonde woman groaned and slumped against the toilet. Licking her lips and grimacing at the bad taste in her mouth, light blue eyes looked up into the deep understanding sapphires of her friend. She smiled weakly and leaned back, wobbling as she tried to stand with the other's assistance. "Thank you," she mumbled once she was standing and leaned against the sink rinsing out her mouth, "I've been sick so much…it's horrible," she said rinsing off her face.
Cocking his head slightly, the thin young man rubbed the other's shoulder comfortingly, "But you're happy, ne?" He smiled thinking back about the cheerful little boy he met last night. He hadn't even known the child for a day and yet he couldn't explain the happiness he felt when he thought about the rosy cheeks and dark hair.
The soon-to-be-mom smiled softly, and rubbed her slightly bulging belly, "Very much so…" She said, then frowned, "But I'm so worried, I've been so busy that I didn't even notice I was pregnant. I thought I'd had a bug for the longest time and had been taking medication. It never even occurred to me I could be pregnant." She looked up into understanding eyes then smiled sheepishly, "That is until I started noticing I was gaining weight instead of losing it after all of my throwing up."
Nodding to the other in thought, the slightly taller man pursed his lips together, "So you're four weeks you said?" he asked, looking up at the other expectantly. A slender brow raised in question when his question was met with an uncharacteristic snort from blonde woman.
Shaking her head Sally went over to sit on the toilet, feeling bile already begin to climb up her throat again. "Hardly. Try four months," she answered and struggled to smile up at her brunette friend. The dark-headed man nodded, both eyebrows raised now, but otherwise said nothing. Opening her mouth to continue, the blonde's eyes widened when her stomach suddenly dropped and she had to slide off the toilet seat and hunch over it hastily. Dry heaves racked the doctor's small frame and she shook in the effort of keeping herself together. Hot tears trailed down her pale cheeks, and the Japanese found himself rubbing her back soothingly, and still holding back her hair.
Sighing, the blonde sat up once her stomach had quelled momentarily and leaned heavily against the toilet bowl. "Duo…and his son….are going out….around noon," she said in between deep breaths. She glanced up at the other through her light lashes, her breathing back to normal, and noticed how his hand on her back had stilled and his body had quickly stiffened. Sensing his uneasiness she went on to hopefully calm his nerves, "Quatre and Trowa want to see you once they leave. They won't be home until later this evening since Duo was planning on showing his son around Earth."
Shaking himself out of his slight stupor, the blue-eyed man nodded down on his friend, "What time is it?" He hadn't seen neither Quatre nor Trowa in such a long time and he had been looking forward to catching up with them. He had been fairly close to the tall green-eyed ex-pilot during the war, and when he'd met the youth's small blonde lover, the Arabian had been nothing but kind to him. He had to hold in a snicker as he suddenly thought of the one time when the petite blonde had nearly gone crazy in his Gundam, but other then that the ex-pilot of Sandrock was a considerate person who'd always looked out for the best of everyone else.
Blinking at the question, and surprised at the other's calm acceptance, Sally thought for a moment and looked down at her watch, "It's about ten-thirty. Everyone's downstairs at breakfast but I had to bring up your laundry and I wanted you to be the first to know…"
"You told me before anyone else?" the small brunette asked, his tone one of surprise. He still stood above her as she blushed and nodded. Taking both of her hands in his own, he pulled on her gently, helping her up off the floor.
Once she was standing, the blonde tugged on the slim hand sill on her own, showing the boy back into his bedroom. "Well I did tell Wufei last night of course, but you are the first other then him." She smiled, sitting back down on the bed, her stomach was growling and she needed some crackers soon, but she still wanted to talk to her friend. "I wanted to come up here too because the smell of eggs makes me nauseous now," she blushed slightly but continued, "Also Demitri wanted me to tell you he made you some miso soup for breakfast and he'll bring it up to you whenever you want."
Heero nodded, his jagged bangs shaking slightly as his eyes caught the other's protruding tummy. "So it's been almost four months now?" he asked and patted the other's tummy gently.
Confused sky blues blinked, then brightened in understanding and the blonde nodded smiling sheepishly and rubbing the back of her neck. "Yeah…" she giggled lightly in embarrassment, "Makes you wonder how I ever graduated from Medical school, ne?" Looking up at the brunette she smiled as he only shook his head, not wanting to patronize or embarrass her anymore then she already was.
"Not at all," he said and merely patted her tummy again. "You've been really busy lately, and I'm not surprised it went unnoticed especially now that I'm here…" As he trailed off the blonde could see the self loathing thoughts that circulated in the other's eyes and she quickly pulled him into a comforting hug.
"Heero, I want to take care of you. I practically kidnapped you and forced you to stay here. You're no trouble at all, Wufei and I love having you here." She kissed him lightly on the cheek as she leaned back from the hug and nodded to him standing, "I'm going to tell Demitri to send up your soup and I'll make sure Quatre and Trowa come up soon alright?"
Nodding up at the other, Heero settled back into his sheets. His head was already starting to hurt. He hadn't eaten since yesterday morning and his body was tired from his lack of sleep last night as well. He frowned, curling in on himself as he felt the blonde finish up folding his clothes; during the war he could go for almost a week without food and minimal sleep and still complete a mission in record time. Now his body had wasted away so much that his ribs ached when he breathed, and his head pulsed without food or sleep. Sighing, he closed his eyes and tried to relax until his two friends would come meet him.

"Well we know where he gets his enormous appetite from, ne?" The four men around the table laughed as they saw the small boy next to his father start out on his second pancake. The boy's chubby hands were covered in syrup, as he'd given up on using his fork earlier. Wufei couldn't resist the smile that touched his lips as he continued, thinking of what he had to look forward to, " He's almost four now. He's getting so big."
Nodding to his Chinese friend and looking down on his son proudly, the braided father grinned a lazy grin and laid his big hand on the tiny shoulders. "Slow down, buddy," he said, but the other merely smiled up at him, his cheeks full of breakfast and some maple syrup dribbling down his chin. "That reminds me," he paused looking up at the three across from him. "His birthday will be in the next few months. Any ideas?"
Nearly jumping out of seat in excitement, the blonde ex-pilot leaned forward, "I'd love to hold a party for him at my house Duo! We could order some of those bounce-houses and even have a petting zoo! Allah knows we have enough room."
Green eyes flickered, and Trowa smiled at his lover's want to be involved. He risked a quick glance to see if the small boy who was the main topic of their conversation was paying any attention. Light lips quirked slightly as he saw the violet-eyed boy was still stuffing his chubby cheeks and was otherwise not paying his father's discussion any mind. He turned back to see the said father finishing up his statement and grinning back at his lover just as excitedly.
"…it'll be perfect," The long-haired man grinned, shoveling the remainder of his eggs into his mouth and swallowing down his coffee. Once he'd finished he stood from the table and went to wash his hands glancing at the clock over the sink he realized it was barely eleven. He shrugged to himself and figured that once he bathed little Cameron and took his own shower it would be nearing twelve. Turning away from the sink he smiled down at the little dark-headed child sitting patiently in his seat and nibbling distractedly on some pancake. Bending over to swoop the little tike into his arms he growled placing feverish kisses all over the little face, causing his son to giggle uncontrollably. "Let's go upstairs someone needs a bath…then we can go out and see the Earth. Ok, Cam?" he smiled finally relenting in his rain of kisses.
The violet-eyed boy giggled and nodded, placing his hands on his father's cheeks, "Ok Daddee!" As the tall man began to make his way out of the kitchen he nodded to his friends still around the kitchen table, "We'll be down in a while guys. Then we're gonna head out for the day, like we planned." He turned and smiled at his son, "Say bye-bye, Cam."
Bringing up a chubby hand and wiggling his tiny fingers, Cameron grinned contagiously at the three men back at the table, who smiled back at him happily. "Buh bye Unkuls!" he said and giggled as they all replied with a goodbye of their own.

Duo sighed and pushed his bangs back as he finished packing a lunch for Cameron and himself, he'd finished his bath after he'd washed the little boy and was ready to take him out. He smiled to himself hearing the familiar giggle beside him on the bed, and turned to see his son playing with his teddy bear, and whispering secrets to it.
"You ready to go to the park, Cam?" he asked, turning back to zip up the bag with their lunches in it. His violet eyes shined and he turned to ruffle the boy's dark hair as an excited laugh and vigorous nodding was his reply. Lifting his son off of the bed and placing him on the ground, the braided man grinned, feeling a slight tug on his pant leg and extended his hand only to feel the small chubby one of his son seek it out.
As they walked out of their room, Duo blinked, closing their door behind him. A quiet cough was echoing throughout the hallways and the violet-eyed man was sure it had come from a few doors down. Frowning and walking down the hallway, still hand in hand with his son, Duo listened carefully for anymore coughs. However, a persistent tug at his hand caused him to look down on his son who was pouting up at him, demanding to be taken to the park.
He grinned, shrugging to himself about the coughs, and turned to walk down the stairs. Upon the last step he looked down the hallway and could see the slender figure of Sally as she walked into the kitchen, her arms full of dirty laundry. Hurrying with his son in tow, the American stopped just outside the kitchen entrance as he heard hushed voices from within. He could hear the quiet voice of his Chinese friend and his wife as they talked but he couldn't make out what they were saying. However when the blonde woman spoke to his Arabian friend he could clearly hear, `…upstairs waiting for you. He said he's excited to see you. Once you know who leaves we can-`
The doctor stopped mid-sentence as the small American's son could be heard right outside the doorway. "Dadee, wet's go!" his small voice whined. Violet eyes bugged and the braided man laughed nervously as he came out from behind the doorway and into the kitchen; only to see his friend's staring at him like deer caught in headlights.
Rubbing the back of his neck he looked down at his son and grinned, "Well we're out of here. We'll give you a call when we're on our way home…" Looking over his friend's faces again he held back a sigh of relief as they seemed to calm down, and smiled back at him waving.
"We'll be waiting for you Duo," the blonde Arabian said, smiling sweetly with an arm loosely holding his taller lover around the waist. The green-eyed man nodded, and smiled at the small boy holding Duo's hand.
Sally stepped forward to hug the braided man, "When you get back we can go out to eat tonight." He grinned at her and nodded as she released him and stooped forward to hug the young boy beside him. "Would you like to go out to dinner with us tonight?" She asked the small boy.
The dark-headed boy grinned cheekily up at her, his red cheeks shining and he nodded, "As wong as tenshi can come!" Hearing the small voice ring throughout the kitchen, everyone stopped.
With furrowed brows, Sally ventured to ask, wondering where the boy had picked up the word, "Where is your tenshi?" she asked.
Old violet eyes had widened and darted down to stare at the massy mop of dark hair incredulously, where had his son learned that word? "He's in heavun wight now, but he pwomised to come visit me."
Smiling down on the little child, Sally rubbed his cheek gently, "Of course he can come, sweetie." Standing, she smiled over at the boy's father, figuring if anyone had taught the boy Japanese it was him. "How cute, Duo," was all she said smiling, then she waved, "It's settled once you two get home we can go out for dinner."

Blue eyes blinked slowly as the small Japanese could hear the soft conversations of his friends. He could hear Quatre and Trowa distinctly, and could hear soft giggles coming from Sally. He rolled over quickly, and sat up gingerly, pulling the blankets around his waist he finger combed his hair hurriedly and rubbed his face slightly, hoping to add some color to his hollow cheeks. Their feet were closer now and they weren't stomping up the stairs, he took a deep breath preparing to see them as the doorknob turned.
The first thing he noticed was of course the bright halo of platinum hair. He turned to smile at the two young men pleasantly, and saw when Sally merely smiled encouragingly and shut the door behind them. His soft smile turned into a loud gasp when he suddenly felt both men around him in a tight hug. The small brunette within the sheets tensed at first, not knowing how to react, but then settled into the embrace and brought his arms around the two.
Heero blinked as he felt the small blonde holding him begin to shake slightly, and he felt a dampness on his shoulder, "Why?" was all the blonde could say before he broke down. The small Japanese swallowed, he hadn't expected his friends to be hurt so much, and he couldn't understand why they were so worried. He blinked and his eyes softened sadly when he saw how Trowa reached around to hold his lover to his chest and still keep one arm around him as well.
Large sapphire's narrowed in confusion and the small boy reached out to his Arabian friend, "Quatre I-" He paused, not knowing what to say and sighed, leaning his head against the other's shoulder instead. The three simply stayed there and held each other for awhile until the small Arabian had finished crying and sniffled leaning back to smile peacefully at his fellow ex-pilot.
"Heero…I'm so sorry. We had no idea-" He trailed off and looked to his taller lover who nodded and rubbed his back gently. Taking a deep breath the pale young man was able to continue, "You should have told us…we could have talked with you and helped you. Don't you know how much you mean to us? That you're our family?"
Thick lashes parted as the ex-pilot of wing blinked with wide eyes, "I care for all of you….so much. I just…didn't want to trouble you." He looked up into calm forest green eyes that were steady and soothing, and felt the strong hand on his back move in small circles.
"Heero, we love you. You're never any trouble for us. We want to hear about your problems. We all share a similar scar from the war and we need to help each other in healing." The banged man spoke slowly and deliberately, looking deeply into dark midnight blues. He could feel the other relax under his ministrations and continued to hold his boyfriend close to him.
Chocolate bangs obscured the dark sapphires as the small brunette kept his gaze downcast, "Thank you," he whispered and leaned into the two next to him, their arms encircling him protectively. "Please stay with me forever…my family." He whispered and nuzzled into the chest before him. The two lovers looked to each other and smiled happily, holding their friend tightly.
"We'll always be here Heero. We love you, your family will always love you," the small aqua-eyed boy leaned his cheek atop the soft crown of chocolate and smiled up at his green-eyed boyfriend who nodded and hugged the Japanese ex-pilot reassuringly. (1)

Duo yawned, leaning against the tree, the weather had been so hot earlier and now that it was almost three it seemed that the clouds were gathering above them. He and Cameron had gone to a playground and then went off to the local zoo and had their lunch there and were now at a small park. He shivered slightly as the wind began to pick up, but smiled watching as his son patted the sand from the sandbox into a neat pile.
Watching the small boy mess around the grimy sand merrily gave him an idea and he stood suddenly, walking quietly over to his son so as not to alert him of his presence. Once he was close enough he darted forward and grabbed the startled boy around the waist, hefting him up and swinging him around gradually making his way over to the swings. Setting the dark-headed boy down on the small swing he grinned pushing gently at first and gaining more speed and height as they went. The small boy laughed and screamed to go higher and higher and the braided man happily obliged, laughing along with his son.
Violet-eyes blinked and narrowed when his son yelled out to him that a raindrop had landed on his nose, he barely had time to register what was said when suddenly a downpour barraged both of them. Squinting and grabbing onto the swing, the ex-pilot shivered and picked his son up from the swing carrying him over to the tree, grabbing all of their stuff and wrapping a blanket around his son he ran across the streets passing each pedestrian huddling under their umbrella.
A large red sign caught the young father's attention and he ran inside the store, hoping to avoid the storm. Once he was inside he unwrapped his son from the damp blanket and set him down on the floor gently. Large amethyst eyes twinkled, and blinked looking around the small store and a large happy smile broke out on the chubby cheeks. "Puppees!" The small child squealed and ran forward, pressing his face against the glass to peer in at the small animals. Duo grinned, he knew his son would love the animals, and walked over to the glass window placing an arm on the little dark-headed boy's back.
A quiet cough suddenly fell from the small red lips and Duo frowned looking down on his son, "You feeling ok, Cam?" His son blinked up at him and giggled, only to cough again.
"'M ok Daddee!" he enthused and turned back to press his chubby hands and face against the glass, sniffling. Duo frowned, disbelieving, but reached into the glass case and grabbed a small brown puppy. The little boy laughed happily and reached up for the small dog impatiently until his father stooped forward to hand him the little puppy.
Almost an hour later, Duo sighed when his son bounced over to yet another glass case, laughing and singing about little kittens and fish. A tired smile made it's way across the braided man's lips and he walked over to the bouncy brunette slowly. Bending forward to smile at his son gently, he picked him up effortlessly, "There's a small café connected to this pet shop. Would you like to go get some ice cream?"
The little boy seemed torn between the sweet treats and the adorable animals but in the end he smiled and nodded, "Yesh Daddee! Ice cweam, ice cweam!"
Duo merely smiled at his son's excitement and walked across the pet shop and into the adjoining café. Ordering both he and his son some ice cream and a cup of coffee for himself, the braided man walked over to a booth hand in hand with his son. Scooting into the booth he smiled down on his son and ruffled his thick hair, "Is it good, Cam?" he asked, smiling when the little boy nodded and licked his ice cream.
Sipping his coffee he thought about dinner later on tonight and the thought reminded him of what his son had said earlier. Turning to look down on the little boy again he furrowed his brows curiously, "Hey, Cam?" he asked, and when large violets blinked up at him questioningly he continued. "Earlier you were talking about a tenshi. Do you know what that is?" He blinked in amazement when the small boy giggled and nodded vigorously, saying he knew exactly what it meant.
"Tenshi came to visut me when I got scared wast night." The little brunette smiled around his ice cream up at his father and he remembered what else he'd done with his tenshi. "He wooks wike mutter. But he's much nicer, and even a wittle pwettier." Duo smiled sadly, listening to his son's dream and he continued to sip on his coffee.
Full lips were tugged down into a concerned frown, however, when coughs once again shook the small boy. "You sure you're feeling all right? I think you might be coming down with a cold…" Reaching down to rub the back of his hand over the smooth forehead of his baby, Duo sighed, he couldn't feel it to be any warmer then usual but he didn't want to risk it. Finishing down his coffee he ruffled the dark hair, "Let's go while the rain's light. You almost done?" The small boy only nodded and hurriedly licked at the remainders of his ice cream, nibbling on some of the sprinkles.
Once they were both done, the braided father wrapped up his son in the same blanket and grabbed their bags, walking out the store ready to dash down the street. Gasping after about twenty minutes, the braided man frowned to himself as he ran, the little boy in his arms was shivering and the rain wasn't helping. He sighed, however as soon as the neighborhood came into view. Running quickly down the street, his braid trailing behind him, the violet-eyed man was relieved was he stood in the doorway to his friend's house.
He took a deep breath and stooped over, setting his son on the ground gently next to their bags. He laughed to himself and smiled at his son, "I think your old man's out of shape." The small child only giggled and shivered, holding the wet blanket closer to himself. Ringing the doorbell and pulling his son into his arm's again. Duo frowned and pulled the blanket away from him. "This blanket is soaked, it'll only make the cold you could be getting worse."
As he spoke he turned to see Demitri who had answered the door, and smiled at him ruefully, "Hey," he greeted and stepped inside. The older man's dark eyes widened when he took in the state of the two wet boys and hurriedly ushered them inside, "Let me get the two of you some towels and blankets," he said and hurried off before Duo could protest.
Once he returned he'd also brought some hot chocolate, handing them towels and blankets he smiled and quietly left to inform Sally and Wufei of their arrival. Duo reached forward and grabbed the towel, rubbing it over his son's messy nest of hair and ringing out his own braid. Once he was done he grabbed the blankets and hot chocolate, walking upstairs to change. When they were both changed, he pulled his son in his lap and wrapped the blanket around them, "I'm tired…" he said, yawning.
The small boy in his lap yawned as well and giggled, "Daddee, we have dinner tonight wiff auntie and unkuls!" As he said this he snuggled into his blanket deeper and nuzzled his father's chest.
Smiling down on his son and leaning back to lay on the bed the braided man sighed, "I know. We'll just take a little nap." Curling in his own blanket and pulling his baby closer to his chest, the braided man smiled over his son's head and whispered to the already sleeping child, "Say hello to your tenshi for me…"
