Heero looked straight up to the ceiling. He couldn't sleep, the events of the past 6 months was gnawing at his soul. No one understood how much he loved Relena, only one had any idea of the depth of his emotion was Duo. He loved Relena and he always will, but
he also loved Duo. It was that blind love that led him to make his greatest mistake, to leave her. Her suicide had rocked him, for him to re-evaluate a lot of things.

It wasn't long before he realized that he actually didn't love Duo, it was an infatuation, their feelings actually ran more like friends. They broke up, Duo returned to L2, while Heero continued to sort out his life. Relena had been the object of most of his life, first hating her, then protecting her, then loving her. Heero felt sobs go through his body, but he also felt detached from it all.

He asked himself, "Relena, why? Did I mean that much to you, that you would give up leaving without me? Our son needs you, your brother and Noin need you, your friends need you, even I still need you."

Heero gave up trying to sleep and walked over to his laptop. Typing in some commands, Heero logged on to the main network of the Preventers. The government managed not to collapse with Relena's untimely death, but Heero was on-call in case anything happened.
Heero turned around, his ever-present gun in his hands. It was if something was following him. Quatre said it may be the personification of his guilt for Relena, but Heero sensed it was Relena's spirit hovering around him, still watching and loving him from the grave.

//Well, I don't know what it means
But I can't seem to make myself forget

Was it all the guilt inside my head//

A little boy padded into the room, his eyes intent on the man in the desk. Climbing into Heero's lap, the boy hugged his teddy bear and asked his father, "Are you still sad over Mommy?".

Heero glanced down on his son, his pride and joy and the only thing left of Relena. "Yes, Ryu, I'll always be sad over Mommy.", Heero told his son, hugging the little boy.

Ryu said nothing, his little tears staining his father's shirt as he hugged his daddy back. Heero shook as he let himself cry, promising himself that he would never fail his son like he failed Relena.
