Dream of Me
Chapter 2 : News of the Sleeper
5:00 A.M.
Relena awoke by the alarm in her brain which told her it was time to get up for the new day. Her eyes opened and she yawned off the sleep that said stay in bed. She looked around the room and remembered that she was on the adjoining one. She got out of bed, put the covers back in the closet and moved to her room.
She looked toward the girl that slept without a care in the world and no worries. it seemed that sleeping was the only relieve in the world this days. Moving quickly, not wanting to fall back on her schedule for the day and she had to start the preparations for her week of cruising around the colonies.
As Relena went to her bathroom with a fresh mount of clothing to wear, Heero was in the kitchen drinking his cup of coffee. Nothing was planned out for Relena today, that she had to get out of the house so his day, was just to simply be with her in the study room as she made her calls and confirm the schedule.
She should hire someone to do that for her, he silently thought as he sipped some more of his coffee opening his laptop. The kitchen was empty as Pagan was outside on one of the sheds looking for one of his things.
Noin and Zech were still in their bedrooms and they should get out soon as their schedule were filled up too. Noin was going to the preventers site in the Cinq Kingdom and Zech had to monitor a project that they were working on in the city.
The laptop beeped getting him out of his thoughts telling him that new information had come from the Preventers Headquarters. He opened the file and grunted. Nothing good ever came out on a message as general as this one. It had come directly from Lady Une.
He hadn't looked further when Relena entered the kitchen in a pink formal suit as if she was on a meeting. She passed him in silence which wasn't really like herself and drank a cup of coffee straight down.
"Don't do that," he said sipping some of his own. "It's really hot."
She rolled her eyes and replied. "Well, with what I'm doing today, I'll need to be really awake."
He nodded comprehending what she told him but he still said back. "Still, you could damage your throat that way."
She chuckled at the thought. "I wish. That way I wouldn't have to talk in all those calls."
This time he didn't respond. "What are you doing?" she asked looking by his back to his laptop.
"Nothing important," he responded swiftly closing the laptop, getting up and setting the cup down on the sink. Now, Relena's curiosity was sparked. He wasn't the type of person to hide things that weren't important from her and the others.
"Nothing important?" she asked in a voice saying not believing you. "Right."
He dismissed the tone of her voice as one that would give in and not press further. Unsuspectingly, Relena passed by him and he asked. "Is she awake?"
"No," Relena sat down as he roamed through the refrigerator for something to eat. "I guess she can't wake up at 5:00 in the morning with that fall she took yesterday." She inched to the laptop trying not to get his attention.
She set the cup down silently and reached for the laptop slowly as Heero's back was turned and occupied on peeling an orange.
With quick reflexes, Relena snatched the laptop and made a run for it out of the kitchen. Heero, hearing the motion set the orange down and went right after her knowing she would do whatever she could to get away from him.
Damn, she got fast, he went right after her as he heard her shoes going up the stairs to the second floor and to the rooms. He smirked and went right after her. With his ears, he picked up the noise of a door shutting and a lock being set. He stopped at the stop of the stairs and went to the right wing. He stopped thoughtfully trying to find out in which room she locked herself in.
She'd be in the last place she'd think I'd look. He thought as he looked around the hallway. He didn't even bother with her room, not the study or where she stayed last night. He looked at the door to his right and found himself in front of his own door. He tried it and found it locked.
"Relena, open the door," he demanded on his normal voice with no touch of emotion.
"No," she said simply defying him. "Open it yourself."
He knew that she was already on his laptop and reading his files and things. She knew that this was part of his world and her curiosity always got the best of her most of the time.
"Alright," he said back and with no time at all, the door was unlocked with no one to stop him from entering. He opened it and looked around the room for the blond haired woman who always defied him. She was no where in sight, he heard muffled giggling from the closed bathroom and understood.
He walked to it and opened the door that much to his surprised wasn't locked. Relena was sitting on the far end of the room beside the bathtub with the laptop set on her knees. She was looking at it smiling.
"Look what I have here," she said letting him know she wasn't giving it up. She looked up at him with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "I didn't know you had all of this stuff in here Heero."
He knew what she was talking about but he paid it no mind. She hadn't read what Lady Une had sent him and that was all he wanted to know.
"Give it back. That has classified information that no one can see." He stretched his arms waiting for her to get up and return to her professional self.
Relena got up from her sitting position and hid the laptop behind her back as Heero walked toward her in slow strides. She looked around for any place where she could escape from him but found none.
"The only way to run is through me," declared Heero, as if knowing what she was asking herself. Relena then smirked at this.
"Well then, I'll have to go through you soldier," she declared making her way to him on her own. They stopped right in front of each other.
"And how do you plan that?" he asked a little uncertain seeing the glint in her eyes.
"Let's see," she put her hand on her cheek in a thoughtful expression. Her eyes lit up and her mouth gave a startling smile. "I got it." She gave him a flirticious smile.
She moved forward until she was right before him, face to face, even if he was about three inches taller than her. She grabbed his tie and pulled him down to face her.
In a swift movement, her lips came to his, getting him startled by the move and wrapped in a kiss. His eyes closed at the moment hers did and they both got into their kiss forgetting the whole incident. Relena's lips opened letting her tongue wonder to his. His arms came around her waist drawing her to him and her empty one went around his neck.
Minutes later, they both separated drawing short breaths to each other, staying in the same position they were.
Relena smiled at the expression of longing in his eyes. Every time she kissed him like that, they both forgot the worlds they were in and what troubles they had.
She gave him another kiss, but this time it was slower and with passion. . . she knew were this was going and, remembered what she was trying to do. His arms unlocked around her waist for a moment, and she took it. She separated herself from the kiss and made a run for the door.
So far so good. She told herself. She passed the small bureau in the room and through the queen sized bed. All of the bed's in the mansion were queen sized.
She was half-way through it, almost on the other side to the door when an arm sneaked around her waist and pulled her back. The force it contained and the startled force she gave sent her and her assailant to the bed. Heero used this to his advantage and straddled her legs and hip to it. She was on the bottom and he was on the top.
"You thought you could get away?" he asked, a small smile making it's way to his own face. She had one of her own.
"No," she said herself. The laptop had fallen when her grabbed her, landing with a soft thud beside the bed. It seemed that Heero didn't care about it anymore.
"Just what were you planning with that kiss?" he asked amused.
She shrugged her shoulders. "To escape from the confined space in the bathroom."
"Oh," he said still amused by her attitude. "You wanted to broaden your chances for escaping me."
She nodded, her hands trapped behind his own. "Now," she began. "What do you plan to do?"
He lowered his face to hers, just when it was an inch apart, he responded. "Maybe I should teach you a lesson."
She smiled and replied. "Teach away."
They both met in a kiss, letting the whole day schedule to be forgotten just a few minutes. . . just a little time to keep to their selves.

6:30 A.M.
Relena groaned as she finished her third call. Every time she called any place just to make sure that everything was going as scheduled, there was a problem that they expected her to solve.
"I need to hire someone for this," she muttered under her breath. "It's exhausting."
She stifled a yawn, shaking her head to make her eyes focus to the task at hand. Going a whole week to conferences in space is not going to be good. It was going to be exhausting.
She glanced around the room and found Heero not five feet away, seated, typing away in his laptop. She pouted a the scene remembering all she did to get him away from it.
"Heero?" he looked up, meeting her eyes, waiting for her to continue. "Who's going with us to the conferences?"
There was always a few other preventers that went with her every time she had to go to another country for any affair.
"Lady Une is sending Trowa," he replied. "I guess only him and me are going to be around."
Relena became suspicious. Lady Une never sent any other Gundam Pilot to protect her, and only one person? This was strange.
"Why only Trowa?" she didn't mind only one. That meant less hassle for her, but she still wanted to ask.
Heero knew that she was suspicious, this was like getting the cat out of the bag. "I think that two Gundam pilots is enough to guard you."
Now, he was avoiding it. Relena shook her head, he wasn't going to tell her. . . something big has to be cooking in the preventers. I'll find out eventually Heero.
She got up and moved to the door. She opened it and moved from the study to her room. It was right beside it to the right.
The cat's ears perked up at the sound of the door opening smoothly. He looked up from his sleeping position finding the same girl that had taken him in the day before.
He purred as she came to him and caressed his back. She took him in her arms, stopping by the bed making sure that the girl was still asleep. She was.
They moved soundlessly out the door and down the stairs to the kitchen were she set the cat down on the counter and got a plate from one of the cabinets.
Relena opened the refrigerator and got a cartoon of milk out, opened it and poured it in the plate. The cat soon began to drink it, hungry from the day before. Relena just stared at it in wonder, the small collar that hung around his neck didn't give a clue to who it belonged to.
"Maybe it's hers," Relena placed the cartoon back and waited patiently for the cat to stop it's eating. She placed the plate in the sink and cuddled the cat in her arms.
She petted it as the cat purred against her hand. Relena went back to the study to finish her last call, knowing that this one would take her a lot of time.
* * *
Relena finished the call with a migraine making it's way to her head. She glanced at the grandfather clock in the room and snorted.
"A whole hour is not worth it," she mumbled as she moved away from her seat stretching her muscles. She was about to move out of the room when the vid-phone started to ring.
Relena groaned again and made her way to it. She turned it on and plastered a smile on her face, "Hello."
Trowa's face appeared on the screen and Relena's smile turned to a real one. "Hi, Relena." He replied in his own hushed voice.
"Long time no see, Trowa. Your circus job been keeping you busy?" she asked.
"Yeah," he said back.
"Why did you call?"
"Just confirming that I'll be arriving on the V1144 flight tomorrow." he replied.
"What time?" She turned on her automatic memory.
"About 2:00 p.m."
"Good," said Relena smiling at him. "It's going to be a long week, hope you pack all you'll need for it."
"Yeah."
"See ya tomorrow then, there's a little surprise for all of you here." She waved her hand and cut the connection. "A good surprise."
Relena looked around for her guardian but found herself alone. "Guess I'll have to tell him." She opened the door and the cat slipped silently away between her legs unnoticed. Relena continued to Heero's room while the cat decided to explore where he was.
Relena found herself in front of the room in no time. The door was slightly ajar, enough for her to stuck her head in and look around. Right there, in his bureau was Heero, with a thoughtful expression and his laptop opened. Relena slipped in silently, making sure that he wouldn't notice her presence.
She got close enough as to see what was on the screen and found it going through files in a miraculously speed. She saw that the scanner was on and the light passed again and again.
What could he be scanning? She got even closer to him and put her hands on his neck and rested her head against his shoulders.
"What are you doing?"
He looked at her and back at the screen. "Matching fingerprints."
"Matching fingerprints?" she repeated as he nodded again. "Of who's?"
"Our visitor." Her head shoot up.
"When did you take them?"
"Just thirty minutes ago."
"You mean, that you've been doing this for thirty minutes and you haven't found a match?" she said unbelievingly.
"I have to go through al the files of the last fifteen years." he explained. "The war always has a lot of more people than other years."
"Okay," she replied understanding. "Do you have any idea who she is though?"
"No," he responded. "No idea."
They had fifteen minutes of silence and then Relena remembered the call.
"Oh," she began. "I forgot to tell you that Trowa called. He's coming tomorrow in flight V1144 at about 2:00. We have to go pick him up."
He nodded. The week trip was another thing that they had to be preoccupied with. Heero was still in thought with all that was going on, when the laptop beeped. There was a match for the prints.
He clicked on the folder and a file opened. There was a picture of a small girl with blond hair and blue eyes on the top.
"It's her," breathed Relena getting a closer look at the picture. There were some differences on the shape of the face and she saw that it was dated to be taken ten years before. The girl in the picture was ten years old at the time of the picture.
"Midii Une, hair : blond, eyes : blue, height : 5 feet, mother: unknown..." Heero read out loud to himself and Relena. He read silently the paragraph that stood below the picture.
"She was a spy for the Alliance," he said out loud as he finished. "There are no more records of her for about five years ago. She just disappeared."
"Maybe she quit the spying before the war," said Relena.
"But what is she doing here? And in that condition." Asked Heero himself.
There was silence from both parts. Relena got up and reclined on the door. "We'll find out when she wakes up."
He nodded and faced the chair to her. "What are you going to do now?"
"I'm finishing all of the papers for the trip to the colonies. They're in my room and I don't want to have any papers to look over on the plane." She opened the door and walked out.
She entered her room and looked at the bed. The bed seemed the same as it was the last time that she had seen it. Midii was still sleeping, her hands rigid, disturbed as if her sleep hadn't been good. Relena came closer to the bed and saw imprints of tears that ran on her cheeks and fell on he pillow.
Heero stood by the door, his eyes fixed on all the movements made by Relena and their visitor. His eyes weren't trusting, they were careful. His senses of danger came to an alert as he kept on analyzing the situation.
Just who is Midii Une? He asked himself as he sat on one of the chairs in the room by the table full with papers. Why do I feel danger creeping up on us?
His eyes went back on Relena who had a concerned look on her face. His watch marked almost 8 o'clock. Time had gone faster than he suspected and who knew what would happen?
Relena moved back to where he sat and sat with a thump. Her eyes were tired, she had a lot of strain for the past days. She hoped to be better for the trip. Nine days, and the mystery visitor just made her worse.
Shaking her head of any thoughts, Relena grabbed the paper from her table and started to skim through it to see if there were any errors. Her mind began to get into the paper when there was a moan from the bed.
Heero got up and moved toward it with Relena by his side. The figure began stirring and her hand came to her temples rubbing away any discomfort.
Her eyes opened and widened at the watch of the two figures. She became awake and her arms and legs came around her as if in a rocking position. Her eyes looked from him to hers as if looking for an answer that would dawn to her any second.
"Where am I?" she asked in a hoarse voice. Her throat was sore and thirsty, a headache soon made it's way to her. Her hands came to her temple and her eyes shut a second time with pain.
Relena came closer to her. "You're in the Cinq Kingdom, my name is Relena Peacecraft."
Midii's eyes opened again. She stared at her and started to mumble incoherently.
"It's you. They want to kill you, they want to kill you." Heero pulled Relena out of the bed.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, his eyes narrowing.
"I. . ." she started to mumble again. "I want to. . ." Her hand came to her head again as the pain became stronger. Her vision blurred and the little strength she had came to an end. Her eyes closed on their own and her head fell back to the pillow.
Heero reached for her hand and quickly analyzed her pulse. He stood up and walked to Relena who was trying to piece together what she said. Her eyes came to the realization to what she said and she made contact with his.
She opened her mouth to say something but Heero shocked his head negatively. She understood, her shaking form being supported by his own.
