Dream of Me
Chapter 3 : Awaken and Shaken
Midii's eyes started to open again for the second time that day. She opened them slowly, the headache still there but not as strong. Her eyes focused on the ceiling which was coated in white paint.
"How do you feel?" she heard someone from her right side ask.
Midii focused her eyes on the figure finding a red haired woman in a white dress. She had never seen that woman before. Her eyes scanned the room that she was in, but she was unfamiliar with where she was. Just what where they planning to do with her now?
"Who are you?" asked Midii sitting up. Her bones protested at the movement and she fell back on the pillow.
"I'm Doctor Crowley," answered the woman taking her pulse glancing at her watch timing it. "Please tell me if there's any sharp pains that you are feeling right now."
Doctor Crowley looked at her eyes and listened to her heart beat looking for any signs of being hurt. She treated the scratches like the night before and moved to the head.
"Relena told me that you fainted last time you woke up." The Doctor looked at the girl who just watched her do the check up. "Not much of a talker, are you?"
The girl lowered her eyes to somewhere else, her cheeks blushing somewhat. "I'm Susan." The doctor took her hand and shook it. "Tell me if this hurts."
She moved her hand to her head and just felt it here and there. She came to a large bump, to where Midii had fallen in on the balcony. She winced just at the contact.
"What's your name?" asked the doctor examining her head.
"I'm Midii." she replied almost in a whisper.
"Well, Middi... there appears to be nothing wrong with you, except for the head bump. You're a little under weight and have a case of malnutrition which you can fix in just a little time with the food this people are going to give you." Her mind processed the information, the images from the night before emerging. She had escaped successfully. But, where was she?
Midii smiled at the friendliness of the doctor. She smiled back and put some ice on her head. "I'll give you some pills that will help you with the headaches. Watch out for the fainting though, you may faint again from it, no one can never tell when this things happen."
"Am I really alright?" asked Midii supporting the ice. The cold was not really helping with the headache.
"Basically, yeah. You must have a really thick skull. You could have cracked your head open." Midii couldn't help but laugh at the comment. Susan laughed along with her.
"So, how's our patient?" asked Relena entering the room with a plate in her hands. Heero was right behind her with two glasses of water.
"She's as fine as I can tell, she doesn't have a heavy concussion," replied Susan. Heero gave her a glass of water which she accepted, thanking him. He placed the other one by the night table. Relena set the plate of hot soup in Midii's lap. "She just hit herself on the head with the fall. Nothing bad will come out of it."
"Eat up. You must be hungry." said Relena smiling at her. Midii hesitated somewhat scared of the people. The doctor nodded her head and she placed the spoon in her lips.
It's so good, she thought to herself as she ate it savoring the taste and smell it invoked. Haven't eaten this good food in some time.
As Midii ate, Susan gave the pills with the instructions to Relena and Heero who wasn't going to let his guard down. There was something going on, and he needed to know what.
"Remember, if she faints call me. It's amazing that she doesn't have a concussion from that fall. It's not necessary to take her to a hospital. Her head is going to kill her for some days and tell her that the headaches can come at any time. If they do, give her one of the pills, if not, just give her one every twelve hours."
"Thank you Dr. Crowley," said Relena sincerely.
"Don't worry about it," replied Susan. "It's all in a day's work." With that she retired off of the room and out of the house.
Midii continued to eat the hot soup for the next minutes, her body accepting the warm substance. She finished it quickly, drinking the glass that Relena gave her with her smile.
"Thank you," said Midii not meeting either of the eyes.
"You're welcome," answered a happy Relena. "I hope you feel better than in the morning, you gave me a scare with your sudden faint."
Midii let her eyes travel along the two people on the room. She recognized both of them as she had seen them both on T.V. and in pictures.
"You're Princess Relena of the Sync Kingdom," Midii said without wavering. "And you must be Heero Yuy."
"Yeah," said Relena stretching her hand for them to shake. "I'm Relena." Midii took it and let her face come to a small smile. "Who are you?"
"I'm Midii Une," Midii introduced herself to both of them. "I'm a former spy of the Alliance." She expected to see a sudden move of apprehension but found none.
"I see," replied Relena glancing at Heero's direction. "So, Midii, what brings you to my house?"
She hesitated a moment, she debated on her mind of something. Both Heero and Relena saw the moment of hesitation on her face. It showed fear of something unknown to both.
"I don't really know how I got here, it wasn't as if I knew were I was going," she said the last part in almost a whisper. She brought a hand to her head where the ice pack was located. The cold was getting to her in a pressured rush making her head spin for some time.
There was some hesitation from Relena as she opened her mouth to speak. She closed it and determines opened to speak a second time. "You said something that disturbed me when you woke up."
Heero saw as Relena's hands quivered with nerves rising in her. She waited some time before speaking again. "You said of someone wanting me dead or killing me."
Midii's eyes widened as she remembered her past conversation with them in the hours before. "I remember." Her hands came to her eyes, rubbing them making sure they would stay open.
"What's going on?" asked an exasperated Heero. His monotone voice gaining some higher notes as he said it. "Where did you come from?"
Midii's eyes traveled from both Relena to Heero and she understood that it was time for her to talk. "I don't know where I came from. It's an underground base, that's all I know."
"An underground base?" asked Relena in wonder. She sat down in a chair beside the bed.
"Yes," Midii agreed, "It's an organization that wants you out of the way." Her eyes were directed on Relena as she said this. She knew that it was directed to her.
"Where do you come in all this?" asked Heero. His eyes were unbreakable with no emotion, like a machine.
"I was captured by mistake as they said to me. It was good for them though because they had been looking for me for some time."
"Why?" asked Relena wondering.
"Because I was one of the most successful spies of the Alliance before the war and some time through it. I didn't even know they kept records of us." There was some silence between the three of them and Midii reached for the water. She drank some of it and continued on her tale.
"They said that because of my outstanding record, that they wanted me to work for them on a special job," she snorted. "Like I wanted to repeat my so called life over again." Her eyes started to blink back tears.
"I didn't know what else to do, and because they said that it wasn't really their intension for bringing me there like they did, it kind of made me accept more than readily."
"So, you worked for them on their assignment?" Relena asked not really understanding.
"Well, all I wanted was the chance to get out of there before they could kill me or something. I said I was going to work for them but it didn't actually mean that I was when they got me out of there." She smiled a little at this. "I didn't really know what my assignment was, I just had to wait to get the information."
"Just was what the assignment?" Heero asked not giving her a chance to continue.
"Straight up, it was simple. All I had to do was get inside the Peacecraft household, which is this one. And because of my record, I would get information from here of a project that Relena's working on with all the representatives from the nations. After there was a decision on the subject, I would say it to them before it got out to the public. That was all I had to do." She avoided both of their gazes for the time being.
"I really did accept after this, I mean what harm was it just for me to get some information. It wasn't like I was going to kill anyone." Midii closed her eyes, breathing deep breaths relaxing herself. "But then I found out the second part of the deal."
Midii closed her eyes momentarily. "If the deal was to go through, I was to make sure that it wouldn't be known." Her eyes opened. "They were to contact me with their plans. I was to help them kill you if there was ever any sign of trouble."
"What faction is that?" asked Heero.
"Well, their organization is a really old one, it's been operational for over 50 years." Midii's hands glistened with sweat. She wiped them on the clothes she was wearing. "They are a big organization of as plain rain, terrorists. They've never been talked about, and I've searched everywhere, not a cinch. They are killers of the high society that as I might add, do a well done job. Accidents that have been thought of being, were jobs of those people on those last days."
"So, they work for money?" interrupted Relena.
"They did," affirmed Midii. "Now, their under a new boss, or shall we say bosses. They don't want anything to do with the last past jobs they did. They're under a new power. They still work for money, but they have a purpose because of their alliance to high aristocrats who want power and wealth. They want to make sure that everything stays the same in everything that goes around and you, Relena, you are changing it all."
Relena got up from her seat and paced around the room silently. Her mind trying to make any connections with what was being said.
Midii, none the less, continued. "They are willing to go to anything to make sure it stays that way. Their name is Raleigh. It's called that because of it's founders. Their first boss and the man that kept them together for their first ten years was Raoul Raleigh."
"Raoul Raleigh?" asked Relena.
"Yes," sighted Midii. "I've checked everything, everything and there was no record of any Raoul Raleigh in any of the records. As I said, the organization is one of the biggest and best that I've ever seen."
"Are you sure that's their name?" asked Heero his eyes showing his distrust.
"I'm sure. I was with them for two months going over the plan on how to get in unsuspicious." she said exasperated. "After I found out what they expected me to do, I refused. I had worked as a spy when I was just a kid, I wasn't going to do it again." She looked at her eyes as if seeing something in them that nobody else could. "I wasn't going to taint my hands with more blood. I wouldn't be able to sustain it any longer."
Midii drank some of the water again, her throat burning from all the non stop talking. A headache was about to form again and her hands gripped her temples trying to sustain it. Relena reached for the bottles of pills that Susan had given her and gave her a pill which Midii took thanking her.
"Thank you," she murmured as she drank the water watching the light play in the walls and wind rustle the curtains draped on the balcony.
"What happened after you refused to continue with the project?" asked Relena sitting down again.
"First, they tried to convince me that it was a good thing to get you out of the way. When I wouldn't change my mind, they sent me to one of their cells. I would have thought they would kill me and get it over with." Midii laughed like if she was loosing her mind. "They just put you in a cell and let the time pass, it passes with nothing to do. That's how they mostly break you in those places but they had another thing coming."
"Did something happen to you in there?" asked Relena with concern in their eyes. Midii knew what she was refering to.
"No," Midii put simply. "They knew that if something like that happened, that they would never be able to change my mind or what they really wanted."
"Well, how did you escaped?" asked Relena.
"I was placed on a secluded cell at a far end. There was a female soldier that brought me food every other day, but always at the same time. She was nice to me considering that I was trapped in there and she always let me keep the plate until she got back. I planned on hitting her with it the next time she came and then put on her clothes. It worked. I knew the way to leave because of my time of being there to be able to roam around freely. I got out and hit the guard outside and he fell unconscious. I discarded the clothes and ran."
Midii's gaze went to the door as a tall older woman with short hair came in with a small plate in her hands.
"Hey, everyone," she greeted. She put the plate on Midii's hand and said. "Pagan sent this gelatin for you. He wants to know if you like it." Midii looked at it and at her again thanking her for it.
"Heero," Noin called him signaling with her hand that she wanted to talk to him. He got up and went to her.
"I think that you should inform Lady Une about this," she started. "She should be informed of all the things that she told you."
Heero looked from Relena to Midii with a watchful eye. Noin could see the apprehension on his part. He nodded still fixed on Relena and Midii.
"I don't trust this," he said surprising Noin. "It's too much of a coincidence. Too much."
"I know," Noin sighted and continued. "But I still think that the faster Une knows this, the better."
There was a minute of silence as both of them saw Relena move closer to the bed taking the now empty plate off of Midii's hand and sat near making small talk to her.
"You also have to make those checks with the planes for the trip you and Relena are taking for the week. You still haven't done those and I'm sure tomorrow you're not going to have time for it."
"I know," his eyes returned to her.
"Now," Noin moved to the door of the room with him. "You should also do a security check of the whole grounds. It's about time that you did one." Heero stood there at the door with hesitation in his eyes. "Plus, if she passed through the security perimeters, then there's something wrong with the security system."
He was about to protest of being alone Relena with Midii when Noin stopped him.
"I'll be here," she put a hand on his shoulder. "Now, go. You still have to make all those calls and the ground check is going to take you a lot of time. Besides, there is no time for the protective thing." Noin looked at her watch. "It's not like she can do any harm in the state that she's in."
Heero looked back as if to refuse but decided not to with the expression that Noin had on her face. He turned to go outside into the wind for the check. No matter, this would give him time to think over all of the things that were going on.
Noin watched as Heero retreated down the steps and out of the house. She smiled as she entered the room again and closed the door. "He's gone."
Relena laughed at Noin's antics. It wasn't everyday that she acted like this. "You can continue if you want," offered Relena.
"Sure," Midii took a deep breath checking the ice.
"I figured that they were going to find out I was gone soon so, I set out as quickly as possible. I didn't really know where I was, but I figured that the more ground I covered, the better for me. I followed a path as I got out of the underground base. It led outside to a road. The road stretched all over as I could see. I didn't care in which direction I took so, I went to the left and followed the road."
There was a mutual silence on both Noin and Relena's parts as Midii stopped throughout the story catching her breath.
"At some point, the road did a frantic turn and I don't know why but I went into the forest. I got really exhausted that I didn't care to what happened to me so I stopped. My legs almost gave out on me because of no strength and no food. I climbed a tree and walked on the branch which made a kind of passage because all of the trees were close together. I felt my legs go numb after sometime so I sat on the branch letting my back rest on it's trunk. I don't know how, but I fell asleep."
"How long did you sleep?" asked Relena.
"I don't know, I didn't look at my watch or anything." Midii touched her old watch as if making sure it was still there. "I woke up in the middle of the day. The sun was high as I climbed to the top of the tree to see. I saw as far as my eyes could and trees were the only thing in sight. I lowered myself to a lower branch and continued walking, this time looking for any kind of fruits that might be on any of the trees. I was hungry and because of my lack of it, I wouldn't be able to hold on for more time."
Her face showed no attention. Relena wondered if she was right there, where she was saying what had happened.
"I walked for hours finding an apple along the way. At this time of year, most of the trees are getting rid of their leaves, not making fruits." Relena nodded. "I found a river a couple of hours later and I was able to wash my face and drink something. I knew I was making slow progress because I could see that I wasn't walking really fast. It took me a whole day to get through the forest as it seems, but I agree that it was a long way to go. I went back to the branches when the dark got there and well, in the dark I can't tell which way I was going."
Midii massaged her arms and moved her neck in efforts to make it move. "I had to be careful not to slip on the branches so that virtually slowed me down even further. Next thing I know, I see a light and the form of a house out there and I go to it. I find myself on the last tree and a balcony at my feet. I was about to climb down when the cat surprised me. I hadn't even noticed it following me. It didn't help that he was black either. I went down on my knees on the branch balancing my weight and looked at it closely. I recognized him from the base as he was the cat of one of the cornels. I don't know how but I lost my footing and fell down into the balcony almost breaking my neck."
"That's all I remember and then I woke up in the morning for about a minute and fainted as you told me." She looked at both women waiting for some kind of response.
"That was a lot to happen," Noin said finally.
"I know," agreed Relena. "It's a wonder you're not really hurt."
Midii blushed and smiled at them. Did they really believe her? She yawned a little and shook her head again clearing it up from thoughts she didn't need right now. She now looked down at her clothes and a frown appeared in her face. They were dirty from the road and of not being changed after a lot of time.
Relena and Noin saw this and understood what she was thinking. Noin went up to the door and called for Pagan. He appeared in a moment waiting for an order to be carried out.
"Pagan, could you be a dear and get a towel and a toothbrush?" Noin asked.
"Certainly," he looked in at Relena and at Midii. "I hope you liked my cooking."
"It was delicious," responded Midii. "Thank you."
He smiled at both of them and turned to find the towel.
"It's about time I take a bath," Midii said getting up from the bed letting the ice go from her head. She looked at her knees and at her arms finding small bruises that Susan cleaned at her early visit. They were mostly cuts made from bushes and all. Her left arm hurt somewhat and she looked at it seeing a mark of some kind. Relena saw it and told her that it was the shot that Susan gave her because of the bruises.
Pagan soon returned with the towel and the other things which Noin took and gave to Midii. Midii entered the bathroom and dismantled her clothes and put them by the sink. She looked at the bruise in her stomach which was now returning to it's normal color and looked away. She took the broken cross from her neck and placed it on the sink gently.
Relena and Noin heard the water come on and they both started to search through the closet in the room.
"There has to be something that will fit her until she can buy any clothing." Noin looked through all of the dresses and into the shorts and blouses. "You have many things in here that you haven't even wore once, I'm sure that she can use them."
"I know," replied Relena who was looking through a box in the far corner.
That's the box that contained new socks and undergarments that she bought. She came sometimes and just grabbed any thing and closed it again. She smiled as she finally got it open and got out a pair of light socks and some panties and bras for her mystery guest. Noin on the other hand got a pair of shorts and a simple blouse for her to change to when she got out of the shower.
Midii closed her eyes letting the warm water embrace her body. It felt refreshing and relaxing at the same time and she let her mind wonder. A tune stuck out in her head. She had heard it before, maybe on the radio or somewhere else but it was there.
With difficulty because of her memory she started to hum it. Her head cleared somewhat as she remembered some of it's lyrics.
"Near, far, wherever you are; I believe that the heart does go on," her mind wondered to her dream. It had been a replay of her memories from long ago. All alone, she put her hand in her heart as she remembered the betrayal. It wasn't worth it, but it was done and couldn't be undone.
She started to play with the tune again, remembering some more of the chorus. She began from the beginning again.
"Near, far, wherever you are; I believe that the heart does go on. Once more you open the door; And you're here in my heart, and my heart will go on and on." Her head started to wager and she felt the pain from the fall come back. She had suffered some falls before and knew that this was common. It had been a while though, she didn't know how she would take it.
Midii continued humming as she felt around the shower for the shampoo. She gripped the bottle and opened it taking it's scent. Jasmines, it smelled like Jasmines. She poured some in her hand and started to wash her hair.
Relena opened the bathroom door cautiously. She wondered in with the clothes in her arms. She set them down beside the discarded ones which she got to take out. She was going out of the bathroom when she saw a light caught by the one's reflected by a small object. She moved to the sink and say a broken cross hanging on a strong black thread. She fingered it slightly and saw that the part missing had been taken off by a shoot.
Her head snapped to attention as she heard the shower head being turned off. She quickly left the bathroom to take the clothes for cleaning.
Wonder why she keeps that thing? she thought as she left the room.
Midii came out wrapped up in the towel, her hair wet hanging onto her skin. It came down to her waist in an uneven line. She stood beside the mirror and saw it. Her hands came to it and she herself undid some of the tangles.
"About time I cut it anyway," She looked to the pile of clothes and found the new fresh clothes and underwear. She went to it and looked to see if they were her size and fit her. She put it on and wrapped the towel on her hair for it not to drip on the floor.
The cross was uncovered and she put it on her neck. Her eyes closed and her hand gripped it as if she was saying a prayer. *The only reminder I have of him.*
Minutes later, she came out with her hair almost completely dry and she herself drying it with the towel. Noin and Relena were both waiting for her with the brush and comb. Midii sat on the chair beside the dresser and Noin stopped her from combing her hair herself.
"You shouldn't do it yourself," Midii protested. "Your hair is too long for you to reach and Susan said that you won't have a lot of strenght on your muscles because of one of her shoots."
Midii gave up at them both and just watched as Noin combed her hair. Relena glanced at the reflection and found the broken cross in her neck. She couldn't help but ask about it.
"Why do you have that cross if it's broken?" Relena pointed out.
Midii hesitated a moment. Her thoughts were trying to organize for a response. "It's a reminder," she responded. "Of someone and something that happened to me."
"Why is it broken?" Relena's curiosity was open.
"A bullet." By the tone of her voice, both Noin and Relena knew she didn't want to talk about it. Relena dropped it and the room came to a silence once again.
Noin quickly finished after that. She smiled at the way Midii carried herself and thanked her. "You have to cut those split ends," Noin mentioned.
"I know." Midii put a hand on the gash on her leg and winced.
"You also need some clothes," Noin pointed out.
"She can borrow and keep some of mine until she buys some." Relena offered.
"You should go tomorrow," Noin moved to a sit beside them. "You can take her when you and Heero go to pick up Trowa."
"That's good idea!" Relena exclaimed. "I also have to buy some things for my trip to the colonies."
"You're going to the colonies?" Midii asked wondering as Relena affirmed it.
"Yeah, a whole week of meetings and conferences with their representatives." Relena sighted heavily. "It's not going to be an easy week." Noin laughed knowing the typical way she said it.
"I'm going to be cramped in a plane with two guys who never talk and are the most anti-social. I'm going to die of boredom."
"Isn't someone else going with you?" asked Midii startled at the number of people she mentioned.
"Well, Heero and Trowa were both Gundam pilots. I guess Lady Une guessed that we wouldn't need anybody else." Relena reasoned. "Normally there would be about three more people. I wouldn't be restless because there would always be another girl with me."
"I told you that you should get a secretary," Noin scolded. "That way, you wouldn't be alone when this happens."
"It's not easy to find a girl about my age that would like to be the secretary to one of the most busiest people in the planet; universe; galaxy." Relena countered giving the reasons.
"Well, what about Midii?" Noin suggested. "It's not like she's tied down to something as I can tell." Noin turned to her. "Well, are you?"
"Not really," Midii responded. "I don't have a home, family or a job for that matter."
"Well, would you like to be Relena's secretary?" Noin asked being straight forward. "Or at least for this trip. It will be good for you."
"I don't think that you would like an ex-spy that close to Relena," Midii mumbled back.
"You said it yourself, Midii, an ex-spy; that's all in the past." Relena said excited with the idea.
"You'd want me to work with you?" asked Midii surprised.
"Sure," replied Relena smiling.
"What do you say?" Noin asked.
"If you don't really mind," Midii directed herself to Relena. "I would love to work with you."
"Then, it's settled," Noin stood up from her sitting position. "Now, I have to go get ready. I'm going to be late."
"Ready for what?" asked Relena.
"To join Alexander on his first trip to the beach," Noin smiled at herself. "You forgot didn't you?"
"Can you blame me? With all that goes around me it's a miracle I'm still sane." Both of them laughed at the comment and Midii chuckled.
"Who's Alexander?" asked Midii.
"He's my four year son." Noin answered opening the door to go out. "I won't be able to see you off Relena. I won't be back for five days and by that time you'll be in the colonies."
"Then, I'll see you when I get back. Midii will go with me too."
"Are you sure that Heero will be alright with this?" Midii asked a little preoccupied.
"Don't worry about him," responded Relena. "He'll be alright with it." Noin left with a knowing smile on her face. Relena looked at her clock and gasped. "I can't believe that it's this late. The time goes fast."
Midii looked at her watch and gasped herself. Noin and Relena had spent over two hours talking with her. Time did go fast when you were into something. Relena got up from her sit on her bed and moved to the door. She motioned for Midii to follow her.
They came out to the hallway that led to the room's that were upstairs. The staircase was right there by Relena's room. Heero's room was the one beside it facing Relena's. The study room was right to the right of Relena's and was right in front of the stairs. Both of them went down the stairs and went to their right. They passed the kitchen doorway in which Pagan was in.
"Hey, Pagan," Relena greeted. He turned to them and introduced himself to Midii. "When's dinner ready?"
"In a little while Miss Relena," he responded. "We also have to wait for Mr. Yuy to come back."
"Where did he go?" asked Relena.
"He went to check the grounds of the place. He should be back in no time now." Pagan moved around checking the oven and the plates with the rest of the food.
Relena led Midii out of the kitchen and into the enormous library beside it. "You should tell me a little about yourself." They both sat down into the comfortable couch in the room and Relena waited for Midii to start with something.
"I don't know where to start or what to say," Midii looked around the enormous library.
"How about when you became a spy."
"I was little, about eight or nine. My mother had died when I was five and my father which had supported me for all those years fell ill. There was no way for my family to support itself and the opportunity came for me to help them. I adored my father and both of my little brothers. I wanted them to be looked after and for them to be able to survive. The Alliance got me to go in for the rebels camps. I had a transmitter that revealed their locations and they could hear their plans as said."
"You were so little," Relena sympathized with her.
"That's one of the reasons why they employed me." Midii fell silent for some time. "Years later, I was about twelve when I found out that my father had died from his disease but my brothers were still living. They were both still little, about six and seven. I continued doing their work until I was fourteen. There had been an attack to the city and base where my brothers were, they both died." Midii took in some deep breaths. "I quit working for the Alliance and barely survived the war."
"So, you don't have anyone else that might be family?" Relena asked.
"I don't know," Midii answered. "I remembered my dad once said that he had an argument with his family and left because of mother. He never talked to them again, he said that because his family was well off; they wouldn't let him marry mother who was just the daughter of one of their workers and the maid."
"So they met like a fairytale?"
"Yeah," a smile made it's way to Midii's face. "It was good to know that he preferred mother rather than the money he had."
"Did you ever tried to look for that part of your family?"
"Not really," Midii shook her head. "All I know is that they have the same last name but they might as well be dead." Relena didn't know what to say. "You're lucky," Midii commented. "You at least have a brother that cares for you."
Relena smiled understanding.
"Well, how did you get to know Heero?" In a moment Relena's complexion changed. Midii noted that her eyes lit up. "What's going on between you two?"
Relena blushed, not hiding her face from her. "You should already know how I met him."
"To tell you the truth, yeah," said Midii. " And I also know that you two have a kind of special relationship."
"Does it show that much?" asked Relena embarrassed.
"I just have to see the way you two act around each other." Midii contested. "So, what's the dirt?" Relena laughed, deciding to tell the truth.
"We're in the simplest terms; together," she blushed this being the first time she told anybody. The only other person that knew was Noin who found out on her own.
"Since when?"
Relena sighted and relaxed against the couch. "Two years."
Midii thought for a moment and asked. "Two years ago he became your personal bodyguard." Relena's blush intensified. "And no one knows it or has discovered it?"
"No." Relena glanced at the door which led outside to the garden and trees. It opened and Heero came through it with his hair unarranged from the wind and his preventers jacket around him.
"Hey," Relena called him. Heero turned their way and closed the door behind him. His shoes were encased with mud. "How did it go?"
"Everything seam's normal," his eyes focused on Midii as he answered. "Where's Noin?"
"She's getting ready for the trip she's taking with Alex." Relena responded. Heero acknowledged this and went right to the point.
"So, what's going to happen with Midii?" Heero asked waiting for something. Relena smiled, letting him know that something was going on.
"I'm glad you asked," Relena got up from the couch and went to him. She stopped right in front of him and let him know what she had arranged. "Midii's staying with us. She's going to be my secretary, the one you and Noin have been telling me of getting."
No one knew if he had a look of surprise or anything. Relena knew that he wouldn't be able to change her mind about this, but she wanted him to agree with it. "Don't you want this to happen? Don't you agree with my decision?"
Heero knew that she was playing with her attitude. She wanted him to agree to it but he knew that even if he opposed it, it wouldn't change her mind. *One more thing to worry about now.*
"No, no problem." He turned to the door leading to the hallway to his room to change clothes and shoes.
"See, I told you he wouldn't mind," Relena smirked at Midii who understood the whole scene. Pagan appeared on the door and announced that dinner was served. Heero would come down in a minute and Noin would leave as soon as she finished.
"We'll be there soon," responded Relena and he retired from the room. "Now, let's go eat. We have to do a lot of things today, you have to get up to date with what is going to happen in the week in space."
Both girls left the room knowing that a long night was ahead of them both.
