Chapter #3:'Boys… Meet High school'

The weekend passed quickly, and it was Monday morning, the girls barely managed to do their homework, the guys were still trying to master their 'blending in' techniques, but with their looks, every girl in Chicago noticed them, so it was hard. "So you guys know your schedules?" Sage asked as they guys came down from their attic, each wearing their school uniform that consisted of crisp pressed slacks, shirt, tie, and jacket, and polished shoes, the girls wore something similar, but more feminine, Jessica, being the ever-showoff wore a plaid skirt that went to her knees with her shirt, tie, and jacket. Mandy barely had to contain a wolf-whistle of appreciation. The guys checked their schedules, "It would appear we are in the same classes as you girls," Heero observed. "Well… Daddy-dearest pulled a few strings," Jessica replied with a smile. "Lets go!" Sage called, drawing their attention to her.

Half an hour later they were walking up the steps, every girl stared at the boys like no tomorrow, some were showing signs of the drool-works firing up. The guys of course paid no attention to them, having had the experience like that in the mall two days back. As they entered the building they were immediately flocked by girls, Carol and Mimi in the lead. "Howdy boys," the two annoying girls greeted in unison. The boys just rolled their eyes. "Hey what you five doing hanging out around prissy twerps like these four?" another girl asked, she was already sizing the guys up, her brown eyes narrowed slightly. "The only prissy twerps I see here are you girls, Mandy, Amber, Jessica, and Sage are perfectly normal," Heero stated coolly. "Well said Heero, now lets go, we have empty lockers to find you guys," Jessica led them down the hall where their own lockers were, she remember seeing five empty lockers in the vicinity on Friday.

The girls stared, "So his name is 'Heero' kind of cute don't you say?" Carol asked. Ashley flipped her black hair and her brown eyes narrowed some more, "He'll be my 'hero' by the end of the term, after all there is that dance coming up," she said. Mimi chuckled, "Leave the blond one to me, I like him, he's cute and timid, just my kind." Carol slugged her friend on the shoulder, "I still think that guy with the braid is cuter," she said.

The morning bell rang and the classes gathered, the girls sat in the back anyways, and the guys took seats around them, not to be close to any of the other girls. However those other girls didn't take 'no' for an answer it was quite obvious that they would be trying to get close to the guys. "Too bad this is the kind of the school where you have one set of classmates," Jessica muttered. Carol and Mimi so strategically sat besides the boys, where seats could permit them. Ashley appeared, flocked by her squad of worshippers, she flicked her black hair again and winked at Heero. Mandy held back the growl that was about to emanate from her throat. Duo turned to Amber who was sitting behind him, "Tell me, what's up with these girls?" he asked. "It's just the way they are Duo, pay no attention," she said. Duo nodded. Carol was meanwhile trying to strike up a conversation with Trowa, no luck either, the silent pilot just remained unphased by her actions, and remained just that, silent.

The teacher walked into the room, immediately noticing the new arrivals and how most girls didn't pay attention to the front, all but the four sitting in direct proximity to the boys. The lesson began and the girls were forced to stop looking at the five new cuties. Jessica and Mandy continued to whisper amongst themselves, "Ashley is such a bitch," Jessica told Mandy. Mandy nodded, "No kidding, that girl goes through boyfriends like she goes through her wardrobe," The girls chuckled at that.

Some time later Mrs. Kaylee watched the class work on their math problems, and then she noticed that the five new students were doing nothing. She walked over to their row, Duo was doodling something on a scrap of paper. Heero just sat there with his eyes closed, looking, as he was asleep, Trowa just sat there, almost in trance-like state. Quatre was whispering to Amber and the girl was giggling while doing her work. And Wufei sat there, his arms folded, a displeased look about him. "Mr. Yuy, why aren't you doing your work?" she asked. Heero replied without opening his eyes, "I have finished already," he said in perfect monotone. Mrs. Kaylee looked at the paper before him and her eyes went wide, indeed, every question was solved, perfectly, neatly, Heero's writing was as neat as the printing in the book before him. She then went to look at the other four's papers, also done to perfection. "Hmm… it would see we have new ace students," Mrs. Kaylee walked away, satisfied that they were indeed finished.

Ashley turned from her seat and faced Heero, "Like Wow… you really know how to do this stuff, don't you?" she asked in her prissy, high-pitched voice that annoyed everyone. Mandy looked up from her work and scowled slightly, but what Ashley said next blew her away, "Heero, do you mind being a dear and letting me copy? Please?" she batted her eyelashes at him, normally any guy would submit to that, but Heero wasn't any normal guy, he replied without so much as showing a trace of emotion, "Only if I can shoot you after you finish," he said coolly. Ashley chuckled, "Funny… Heero you are so funny," she told him.

"Ashley, he isn't kidding, he will really shoot you," Mandy told the girl. Ashley flicked her black hair, "Why would he shoot someone as cute as me?" Heero snorted but didn't comment, Duo however did, "You're about as cute as a drunken street bum, lay off the makeup." Ashley stared at him with utter shock. Mandy chuckled, "Well said Duo, well said." Duo smiled goofily, "Eh… no sweat babe, I was just saying the truth." The word 'Babe' seemed to make Ashley all the madder, but she turned around and puffed out, she was so insulted she couldn't add anything to that; it was beyond her brain capacity.

Mrs. Kaylee tapped the wooden desk before her with her fist to get the class' attention. All the students looked up at her, "Now seeing as most of you are done, we shouldn't waste time, those of you who haven't finished, please ask someone in the class to help you," She said. The guys gulped as all the girls turned to them, "Injustice…" Wufei grumbled under his breath. Jessica Death-glared every girl that looked at the boys and promptly scooted closer to Trowa, "I finished already, but those vultures don't know that," she gave Trowa a small wink that didn't escape unnoticed by most girls, causing quite a few to puff out in anger. He just looked at her quizzing, "Vultures?" Jessica chuckled quietly, which served to annoy the other girls further, "What else would you call them? They would do anything to spend some time with you five, you're like the latest craze for them," Trowa grinned lightly, "You girls are strange," he replied.

The conversation ended with that. Heero didn't need any help, he just gave every approaching girl his infamous death glare, and they just withered away like dying plants. Wufei did the same. Quatre just politely said that he can't explain and refused to say any more. Duo faked that he copied off Heero and he has no idea what he has to do, which was an utter lie, but the girls bought it.

There was a gentle knock on the door to the classroom, and a second later a girl with blond hair walked into the room, she exchanged some words with the teacher, "Class, it would see we have yet another new student today," Mrs. Kaylee spoke up. The blond surveyed the room but like every other girl, her gaze stopped on the boys. Mrs. Kaylee showed her the only available seat that was beside Jessica; no one wanted to sit in the far side of the room, particularly among the four 'unpopular ones'.

Suddenly Jessica felt something burn in her pocket, she reached inside, the stone, she felt it, it was warm and it was glowing hot pink. The new girl, much to everyone's shock, pulled out another stone in the same pink marble-like shape, it too was glowing. Amber, Sage, and Mandy pulled out their stones, they too were glowing. The girls quickly put the stones away; Jessica scooted away from Trowa in favor of talking to the new girl. "Hey, what's your name?" she asked. "Katie," the blond replied. "Name's Jessica, those are Sage, Mandy, and Amber, we're the 'un-cool ones' so beware," The auburn haired Jessica introduced herself and her pals. Katie laughed. She then looked at the boys once again, "Hey do you watch anime?" Katie asked. Jessica thought about her reply for a second, "Yea so what? You going to mock me that I am an immature twit?" Amber and Sage were watching Katie curiously. "No, no… those five just look like… well… flesh and blood version of these five cute anime characters and well… I was wondering if you noticed the resemblance there… that's all," Katie bowed her head.

"Hmm… I noticed the resemblance, but hey… why shouldn't they resemble the Gundam Pilots… after all, they ~are~ the Gundam pilots." Katie stared at her with her jaw hanging open, "Quit lying! You're probably pulling a prank, you got your boyfriends to dress like them or something," Katie was still looking at the guys, to her they looked authentic, but something nagged at her. "Boyfriends? You must be kiddin' me! We're the un-cool ones, a boy wouldn't date us even if he was threatened with a gun to his temple, much less voluntarily, besides… we don't need no guys, us amazons rule!" Mandy chuckled loudly. "Onnas be quiet," Wufei interrupted them. "Shut up Wufei," Jessica shot back. "Oh my god… oh… my… god!" Katie was close to hyperventilating right there and then. "What's the matter new-girl… they stink so bad you gonna choke?" Ashley hissed from some distance off. "Ashley shut up before I give you a black eye, I gave you a black eye once, I'll give it again, I don't care about suspension, and this time I'll make sure no amount of makeup can cover it," Mandy hissed at her. Ashley batted her eyelashes at Mandy and made a cute face for the boys, "Why would you want to hurt moi for stating zee truth?" she answered in an appallingly fake French accent. "That onna is getting on my nerves," Wufei commented. "For once we agree on something, but then again… she gets on everyone's nerves… it's people like her that give blonds a bad name, and she isn't even a blond!" Jessica muttered. "Hey watch it, we're blonds…" Mandy, Amber, and Katie called at the same time. Jessica just shrugged, "Bite me," she said coolly.

The bell chose that moment to ring, cutting trough the tension in the air like a knife. All the students gathered up their belongings and moved to exit, Ashley wasn't going to be put down, as she noticed Mandy was lagging behind, so she bumped her. The blond was surprised and dropped her books, "Klutz Mandy… you should be more graceful, more like me… next time watch where you're going klutz," Ashley told her in her annoying, high-pitched tone. "See you- ACK!" Ashley didn't get to finish her final taunt because Mandy's hand shot out and grabbed the girl's long hair; Mandy gave it a good yank back, tagging Ashley to her eye level.

Heero some distance ahead stopped and turned just in time to see the blond give the ebony haired girl a good punch in the face, "Yep… I'll see you later, particularly that black eye that is already forming," Mandy told Ashley, she gathered her books and ran to Heero who waited for her for some strange reason he himself wasn't too sure of. "I didn't expect you would really punch her, but I have to admit… she deserved it," Heero stated in his monotonous way. "No kidding, the hoe thinks every man in this godforsaken school is her boy-toy," Mandy growled inaudibly at the thought of Ashley going gaga over Heero, it was a sickening thought. Heero of course having an acute sense of hearing heard her growl.

The bell rang, "Oh my god we're late! Mr. Smith will bite my head off!" Mandy ran down the stairs to the bottom floor as fast as she could, followed by Heero, who was also in shock, it was the first time in his life that he was late for something. They arrived somehow thirty seconds after the bell rang, the class was still gathering, so Mr. Smith wouldn't bite their heads off for missing the beginning of his class. "Mr. Yuy, late on your first day? Not a good sign," the young man chided Heero, of course Heero apologized for his lateness and joined the others in the empty seat Jessica saved for him, strategically next to Mandy, "Heero I am sorry for making you late, I know you don't like being late," Mandy apologized to him. Heero looked at her and almost grinned, "It's ok… it was an interesting experience, I was never late for anything in my life," he replied.

At the moment Ashley staggered in, her eye was already beginning to darken; her lip was swollen a bit. "Ms. Jacobs?" the teacher inquired. "Sorry sir… Mandy here… punched me… I had to put some cold water in the ladies restroom," the girl flipped her hair back over her shoulder, looking at Mandy with that 'You're going to be suspended now,' look in her eyes. The teacher turned to Mandy, "Is this true?" he asked. Mandy was about to admit to it when Heero spoke for her, "I was with Mandy the whole three minute break between classes, I assure you sir, she didn't punch anyone, clearly Ashley was punched by someone else," the class stared at Heero as if he was insane. Murmurs erupted like a wildfire; students began gossiping on who could've punched the most popular girl in school aside from one of the most unpopular girl in school.

"Way to go Heero you dog! Sticking up for a girl… you have a crush on her, don't you?" Duo teased the stoic soldier. "Shut up Maxwell, it's the truth," Heero replied. Duo just shrugged, "Sure, whatever you say buddy-boy," he leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms. The class eventually calmed down and the lesson began, Ashley glared daggers at Mandy the whole class, still in shock that Heero defended Mandy, the un-cool snot-head, instead of her, 'Who does she think she is, she is probably a witch… how can Heero defend her? I'm far more beautiful, far more popular, and I don't wear pants… hmm… maybe I should shorten this skirt a bit, then maybe he'd notice me… yea… that's what I'll do,' Ashley thought to herself.

Carol and Mimi spend half the class comforting their hurt friend that seemed to be more and more unnerved when the teacher said the words 'Group Project' and assigned Heero and Mandy to work together since they seemed such good friends. Mimi was ticked off that Sage was assigned to work with Quatre. Carol was pissed off that the new girl was already fast friends with Duo, 'who does she think she is? She comes in here and steals my man! This is so not fair… oh well, I can ruffle her feathers in gym class," the girl thought. 'Yea… Gym class…' she chuckled to herself.
