Chapter #11: Meeting the Parents

Heero's mind began to dart to a possible escape plan. Amber was still out cold, her father now folded his arms and was glaring daggers at him. He was saved by the sound of footsteps on the stairs, Mandy came down, "Heero? Oh hello Mr. and Mrs. Koch. Heero! What did you do to Amber?" Mandy kneeled beside the unconscious girl. "I demand to know what this young man is doing in this house so late, and why is he so underdressed?" Mr. Koch demanded, still eying Heero with mistrust.

The other girls came down the stairs, "What's… whoa… this can't be good," Sage didn't get to finish her sentence when she saw Amber's parents. It was known to her, as Amber's best friend that her parents didn't particularly like Amber going out, and the fact that Mr. Koch was inch away from grabbing Heero by the shirt and shoving him out the door, she could tell the two were already acquainted.

The situation was made explosive when the other guys appeared, attracted by the commotion. Amber's parents stared, her father was in utter shock, he didn't expect to find five guys in the house at ten pm in the evening. And especially them dressed so relaxed, as if they owned the place, he also noted that the five weren't as lean as the rest of the guys in school, these five could easily overpower the girls, and he didn't like that one little bit.

Amber came around and quickly jumped to her feet, shocking Mandy who was kneeling by her, and Heero, who nearly jumped out of his skin, he already felt like doing that as it is. "Mom… Dad, it's not like it seems," she began. "I think I know how it seems young lady, I'll be needing a talk with you, alone!" Mr. Koch was now glaring at his daughter. "William, don't do anything rash!" Mrs. Koch warned her husband. "I wont Elizabeth," with that he dragged Amber to the kitchen.

Elizabeth glanced at the boys, the one she heard to being referred to as 'Heero' was agitated and very jumpy. Now that she looked at the boys, they seemed oddly familiar, but she couldn't place a finger on where she saw them before, but she was sure she saw them before, not often do you see a guy with a braid walking around town. It was also the first time in her life that she saw a teenager with long bangs covering half of his face, she knew there was something more to these five, they just weren't average teens from school. She noted that the shortest one of them all, the blond, was looking towards the kitchen with a worried expression.

"Come Mrs. Koch, we'd offer tea… but the kitchen is occupied, so you'd have to forgive us," Jessica quickly took charge of the situation. They sat around the living room, the guys, being gentlemen let the girls and Amber's mother occupy the couches. Then they perched themselves wherever space allowed them. "Mrs. Koch, we'd like you to meet Heero Yuy, Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barton, Quatre Winner, and Wufei Chang," Sage introduced the guys, each of them nodded in turn. Now the adult was sure she saw them before, their names rang a bell, but she still couldn't place a finger on where she heard or saw them before.

Amber walked back into the living room, with her father in tow, she was a bit disappointed and immediately the girls expected the worst. "So…" Jessica was searching Amber's expression for some clue to as to what is going on. "Amber tells me you five are close friends," William Koch began. The boys nodded in unison, "Mr. Koch, I think I speak for all my friends when I say we don't mean the girls any harm, we just don't have anywhere else to go," Quatre stated. "You said it Quatre!" Duo chorused, clapping his friend on the shoulder.

"Dad… what are you doing here? I mean… you don't usually stop by a lot," amber asked. "Oh honey… we decided to drop by, with these aliens… the earth is changing so fast, we just wanted to see how are things here, we took one of those new alien jet planes here, the ones that fly at hypersonic speeds. The Concord is not nearly as grand and comfortable to fly with as those are, and the noise… they don't produce any noise," Elizabeth Koch explained. "You aint seen everything yet," Jessica muttered. Only the guys and the rest of the girls understood exactly what she meant. "What do you mean by that?" William asked, he could tell they were hiding something, but what? Jessica smiled a bit, "Nothing really, nothing that… big," Jessica replied slyly, she loved tiptoeing around the subject. Heero growled, the girl was this close to giving away the fact that they had the gundams, he didn't like her game.

"So mom, Dad, are you staying here for the night… the most we have to offer is the basement, these five have the attic commandeered," Amber wondered. "The basement is fine dear, it's not leaky, so it's just fine," Mrs. Koch stated. So the gang dispersed for the night, it being eleven pm already.

In the cave, Wing Zero was still watching the scene before it dully. Phoenix was pestering everyone for information of human emotions; the bird-gundam wouldn't give up the search to understand emotions. Deathscythe was apparently thinking up more pranks it could suggest to his 'brother'. Suddenly his comlinks began to frizz a bit. He could pick up something on the radio.

Above the cave, in the atmosphere, two alien craft hovered, watching the human city below. Two aliens were talking amongst themselves on the com links, "Hey… the General said there was a metal factory somewhere here, they manufacture those strange little four wheeled crafts these humans use, he said we are to load our cargo holds with all the metal we can salvage," one said to the other. "There it is!" The other replied rotating his craft towards the large building with the towering smoke stacks above it.

Wing Zero heard the whole conversation on his comlinks; his sensory was by far the most advanced so he somehow managed to pick up the aliens. "The aliens are going to raid the Chicago car factory, we have to contact our masters," Wing Zero spoke up. Instantly all conversation ceased, "How do you propose we do that?" Altron asked, he rarely spoke, but to him it looked like Wing Zero flipped his circuitry boards, they had no way of contact their masters.

"Leave that to me," Wolf Zero stated in her feminine voice, she shared something special with her mistress, she could contact her, given some time, "I gave my mistress a special device, that allows me to communicate to her," she added. "Oh yea! The watches! I totally forgot to tell my mistress about them!" Phoenix replied. Wolf Zero laughed, "Ah but I didn't, a wolf never forgets, now let me work in peace…" the gundam closed the comlinks, and promptly went to contacting her mistress, leaving all the other gundams shocked.

Author Notes: this was rushed… so pardon me if it sucks… amber I know where you live, I'm coming to kill you!
