Two months later

Hilde rolled over in bed, and glanced at the alarm clock on her nightstand. 6:33 AM. Her stomach churned as she sat up, and stumbled over to her closet. She leaned against the closet door as a wave of sickness rolled over her.
she slid down to the floor, clutching her stomach.

"Not again..." She whispered, and slowly pulled herself up.

Hilde sighed, and carefully made her way over to the bathroom. She knelt down in front of the toilet, and pressed her forehead to the cool porcelain.
Hilde stayed that way until she felt the nauseating feeling melt away, then went back to bed.

* * *

Beep Beep Beep... Hilde reached over and slapped the alarm. She tried to sit up, but A queasy feeling hit her hard. she laid back down, and stared up at the ceiling, and waited for the sickness that overcame her every morning to pass. It finally did, and she was able to move again. She got dressed, and went downstairs for breakfast. Hilde busied herself cooking. She made 5 Pancakes, toast, and 3 eggs. Hilde ate it quickly, and glanced at the clock on her microwave. She had a doctor's appointment at 10:00, and it was 9:30.
She ran out the front door, stopping only to lock her door behind her.

* * *

"So Doc, what's wrong with me?" Hilde asked Dr. Winner, who just happened to be one of Quatre's 29 sisters. Dr. Winner looked up at her.

"Let me get this straight, you've had morning sickness for the last month, you've been eating like a horse, and you're having mood swings?" She asked.

Hilde nodded.

"When was your last period?" The doctor asked.

Hilde froze. When was my last period? She thought. The thought back...

"Shit." She muttered. "My last period was about two months ago."

Two months ago...She thought. Two months ago...
*Flashback*
"Please say it's me." Heero said.

Hilde blinked a couple times, then nodded.

Heero smiled, and lowered his lips to hers. Hilde felt Heero's arms wrap around her small waist, pulling her closer to him. Her arms went up around his neck, fingers playing with his thick hair.

Hilde blinked herself out of the memory. The doctor was talking again.

"Are you sexually active?" The doctor asked.

Hilde looked up. "what?" She replied.

The doctor smiled. "I asked you if you are sexually active."

*Flashback*
Heero laid her back on the bed, and slipped her underwear off of her. he pulled off his boxers, and pulled the blankets up over them. He positioned himself above her, watching her every move. Her eyes opened drowsily, and she nodded at him.

"Not anymore." Hilde told the doctor.

"Well, if you were sexually active 2 months ago, I think you might be pregnant."

The doctor handed her a business card. "This is the number to a good Gynecologist. I suggest you give her a ring. I can't help you much on the subject of pregnancy, all I know is that Sex is okay until the third trimester!" The doctor said with a laugh.

* * *
Hilde drove herself home, even though her mind was a jumble of thoughts.
What am I going to do? She asked herself. A stab of nausea hit her, and she doubled over, which was pretty hard to do while she was driving the car. Thank God I'm in the parking lot. She thought. She parked the car, and sat there, dazed. She slowly drifted off into her memories.

Heero's hand slipped up under her shirt, and she moaned, leaning into his demanding kiss. He ran his fingers up her stomach, to her breasts. He fondled them gently, teasingly rubbing his fingers around the nipples. He felt them harden through the flimsy cloth of her bra. Hilde pressed up against him, feeling his erection through his boxers. She reached a hand down into his boxers, running her fingers along his erected member.

"NO!" She chided herself, and opened the car door. "That's not something you need to remember."

She unlocked her front door, and set her purse down on the kitchen table. She was about to go back upstairs, and back to sleep, but she hesitated. She turned back around, and unzipped her purse. She pulled out an at home pregnancy test, and headed to the bathroom.

Hilde shook up the little tube, and watched as the water turned blue.

"No...No, No, this can't be true. No..." Hilde shook the tube furiously, as if trying to change the color of the liquid. Tears pressed against her eyes, threatening to spill out. She backed up against the wall, and the tube slipped out of her hand. It shattered on the linoleum floor, blue water sloshing everywhere. She sank down to the ground.

"Please God, no. Please let the test be wrong..." She sobbed. "Please let it be wrong. If it's right..." She trailed off.

Hilde knew what she would have to do if it the test was correct. She would have to tell Heero.

* * *

Hilde shut the door behind her, and started towards Heero's apartment, which was just two complexes away from her own. Her purse was clutched tight in her hands, being wrung to the death because of her nervousness. She climbed the steps to Heero's apartment.

"Please lord, Let Heero be gone so I don't have top face him," She paused. "And please don't let me cry."

She knocked lightly on his door.

"Just a minute." His voice called out. Hilde waited patiently as the nerve-racking time it took for him to reach the door passed. The door opened, revealing Heero, dressed in his normal Green tanktop and Black Shorts.

"Hilde." He said, a note of surprise in his voice.

"Heero, I have something I need to talk to you about. Can I come in?" Hilde asked.

Heero nodded, and held the door open for her.

"You can sit on the couch, if you want." Heero told her.

She smiled nervously at him, and took a seat on the couch. This is the same couch...

*Flashback*

"Hilde, Aijin, Relena is at the door." Heero whispered.

Hilde's eyes snapped open. She jumped out of bed, and pulled on the borrowed T-shirt she never wore last night. She turned around, and found herself in Heero's arms. they kissed passionately one more time, and Whiled ran out into the living room. She hopped onto the couch, and pulled a throw blanket over herself. She watched Heero stumble out of the bedroom in his boxers and a T-shirt, and opened the door. Relena walked in, and immediately kissed Heero on the lips.

She shook the memory away. Heero sat down next to her.

"What's up?" He asked her.

"Heero, " She paused," I'm... I'm pregnant."

Heero Moved to hug her. "That's great, Does Duo know?" He asked.

"Heero, I'm two months along. Duo and I haven't since three months ago."

"I kinda figured that. So, That means it's mine?" He said. It didn't seem like he was asking, but she nodded anyway.

"What are we going to do?" She asked, tears filling her eyes.

Heero shook his head. "I don't know..." He looked up at her. "Please Hilde, Don't cry... Please don't cry. I got us into this mess, and I'll get us out of it. Please don't cry..." He held his arms out to her. "Please don't cry."

"Heero, we both got us into this mess, not just you." She said. She crawled over to him, and curled up in his arms.

Heero Looked down at the person in is arms. His best friend's Girlfriend, His one night stand, and now the mother of his child. What are we going to do? He asked himself. Unconsciously, he rubbed her back her back. Her small body was pressed up against his, and he could feel her tears staining his shirt.

Hilde felt so comfortable wrapped in Heero's embrace. His hand rubbed her back, and for some reason it was driving her crazy. His touch was warm, even through her clothes, and it sent a tingle through her body. Her tears cleared away, though they left telltale marks on her pale cheeks. She clung to him, never wanting to let go. You still want him! She realized. But look what happened last time you got what you wanted... You ended up pregnant with your best friend's Fiancee's Kid. She thought. Hilde looked up at Heero, who was off in space. or at least, that's how he looked.

Heero lost himself to his memories... The Memories of double dates with Lee, Duo And Hilde, The memories of him and Hilde the night they made love... The days of hurt after he had told her that it was a mistake, when he thought it wasn't... And now, She was curled up in his lap, with a life they created growing inside of her. In a split second, he knew what he had to do. I have to break off the engagement with Relena. Maybe then...Maybe Hilde and I could be together. Heero looked down at Hilde.

"Hilde." He said.

She sniffled and looked up at him. "Yeah?" She asked.

"I know what to do. But... You'll have to leave Duo."

Hilde cocked her head to one side. "Ok. Why?"

Heero was surprised that she agreed so easily. "Because..." He gathered all the courage he had in him. "Because I love you. And I want to be with you. I'm going to break off my engagement with Relena."

Hilde's face was glowing. "You, You love me?" She said, surprised.

He nodded.

"Well, That's good, because I love you." She said.

Heero felt his face blush red. Hilde laughed.

"So the perfect soldier does have feelings."

"Don't call me the perfect soldier. The perfect soldier has no feelings. The perfect soldier died that night, two months ago."

Hilde searched his eyes, and saw nothing but the truth. and Love. Endless, unconditional Love.

Heero brushed his lips against hers, and squeezed her tight. and they stayed like that.
Time was meaningless compared to what they felt for eachother right now.

* * *

Hilde unlocked her front door, and stepped inside. She shut and locked it behind herself, then walked into the living room. She was shocked to see Duo was sitting on her couch.

"Duo, Hi. What's up?"

"Nuthin much, I felt like talking to you."

"Oh, well, that's good I guess. I need to talk to you."

"About what babe?"

Hilde decided to cut to the chase. There was no point in playing games.

"Duo, I can't see you anymore. I, I cheated on you. And now I'm pregnant."

Instead of hurt or heartbreak, she saw relief on Duo's face. He stood up, and headed for the door.

"That's great. That you're pregnant, I mean. Well, I gotta go now." Duo said, and shut the door behind himself. Hilde picked up the phone, and dialed Heero's number. He picked up.

"Your Turn." She said, and hung up the phone.

* * *

Heero picked up the phone.

"Hello?" He said.

"Your Turn." Hilde's familiar voice said, and then hung up.

Heero replaced the phone on its cradle. He leaned back into the couch with a sigh.

"I guess it is my turn." Heero told himself.

He picked up the phone, and dialed Relena's home phone number. He waited impatiently while it rang. Finally, Relena answered.

"Hello?" Relena said.

"Hey. What's up?" Heero asked.

"Oh, Hey Koibito. Nuthin much here, how about you?"

"Relena, we need to talk."

"Umm, ok. How about I come over in about an hour?"

Heero glanced at the clock. It read 12:15.

"Ok. One hour." Heero agreed.

"Love you." Relena said.

Heero was silent, unsure of what to say.

"Umm, Yeah. See you in an hour. Ja Ne." He finally said, and quickly hung up the phone. "I have one hour...What am I going to do until then?" He asked himself.

He closed his eyes, and an image of Hilde flashed through his mind, Just the thought of her brought a smile to his lips. Her big blue eyes, wide and so innocent, Her small Luscious mouth, perfect for kissing. Everything about her entranced him, everything from her head to her toes. She was perfect in his eyes. Absolutely perfect.

* * *

Hilde laid back onto her couch, pictures of Heero wafting through her mind. She wanted Heero, she wasn't going to deny it, But she didn't want To convey it to the world. And that's what would happen now.

"How did I ever get myself into this mess?" She asked no one, burying her face in her hands. She got up, and walked out of her apartment, not even bothering to lock the door behind her.

* * *

Knock Knock! Heero looked up, startled. *Relena shouldn't be here for at least 45 minutes. Who could be at my door?* He thought. Curiously, he glanced through the peephole.

"Hilde!" He cried, surprised once more.

He unlocked the door as quick as he could, his fingers tripping over the locks. Finally, he got the door opened.

"Hey. Why'd you come back?" Heero questioned Hilde.

"I was lonely... I can't exactly call Duo or Lee..." Hilde trailed off.

"I guess not... Wanna come in?" He asked.

She nodded, and He held the door open for her. Hilde smiled up at him. Heero stopped her suddenly.

"On 2nd thought," Heero started, and scooped Hilde up in his arms. "I've got a better idea." He finished.

He carried her down the hall, and jarred his bedroom door open with his foot. He laid her back on onto his bed, kissing her gently. his hand went up under her shirt, resting on her stomach.

"We made this... We made another life." Heero said, half believing himself, half not. Hilde saw his uncertainty, and nodded.

"Yeah, we made another person. We created it together." She said.

Heero withdrew his hand out from under her shirt, and pushed the blue button up shirt up, up to her chest. He undid the button on her jeans, and laid his ear on her abdomen, hoping to hear something.

"Heero, I'm only two months along, you won't be able to hear anything." Hilde told him.

Heero just smiled. He pulled her small hand into his, and kissed her tummy. He kissed his way up her body, until their mouths locked together in a deep, intense kiss. heero's tongue would around Hilde's, pressing caressingly into her mouth.

They heard a noise in Heero's doorway, and Hilde broke the kiss off suddenly.

* * *

Relena cleared her throat, surprised and shocked at what she was seeing. Her Fiancee and her best friend, making out on Heero's bed, with Hilde's pants unbuttoned, and her shirt pushed up. Hilde pulled back.

"Relena!" Hilde cried, pushing Heero off of her.

Heero fell to the floor with a thud, and Hilde jumped up, and started towards Relena.

"Keep away from me, Hilde." Relena said.

"Lee, this isn't what it looks like." Hilde told her.

"Well, this looks like My best friend and my Fiancee are having an affair. Next thing i know, you'll probably be pregnant with his kid!"

Hilde drew in a deep breath. "Ok, so it's exactly what it looks like.

"You're pregnant?!"

Hilde nodded. Heero picked himself up off the floor, and came up behind Hilde. His arms encircled her waist protectively. Relena shook her head, tears spilling furiously out of her big blue eyes.

"NO NO NO!" She yelled, picking up a framed picture of herself. "NO!" She screamed, and threw it at Heero's head. It missed by a long shot.

Heero let go hilde's waist, and walked toward Relena.

"No! Get away from me, Heero, Dont' touch me!" Relena screamed, backing away from him. She found herself backed into a corner. She swung out, narrowly missing his face. He took hold of her arms.

"Lee, Calm down. I'm sorry that this is how it's ending, but it's over." Heero told her.

Heero let go of her, and she sunk down to the ground, sobbing.

"No..." She whispered, hugging her arms to her chest. "No no no no..."

Meanwhile, Hilde had found her was back to the bed, and was watching the scene unfold before her eyes. She was frozen in place, awestruck. An idea hit her. It was time to play matchmaker. She jumped up off the bed, and ran out into the living room to get Heero's phone.

Heero watched as HIlde jumped up and ran out of the room. I hope i didn't upset her... He thought. She returned a few minutes later. She walked over to Heero, who was now sitting on his bed, with the 'Perfect Soldier' look on his face.

"I called Duo. He said he's gonna come pick up Lee. Maybe he can calm her down." Hilde whispered. Heero realized what Hilde was trying to do.

"Ok." He replied, his voice empty.

Hilde sat down next to Heero.

"Do we just leave her there?" Hilde asked, her voice filled with concern. Heero nodded.

"Ok." Hilde said, glancing around the room.

Relena was curled up in a tiny ball in the corner behind Heero's bedroom door, and there were glass shards at her feet where the picture frame had landed after bouncing off the wall. Otherwise, the room was perfect, and spotless. the bed was even made.
What if someone hurts themself on the glass? Hilde thought, grateful to have something else to concentrate on. Hilde busied herself picking up the fragments. a thin wedge of glass sliced her palm open. She watched as blood welled up in the cut, then ran down her hand, and splattered on the grey carpet. Tears formed in her wide eyes, but not from the stinging cut, rather from the situation unfolding around her. she collapsed, falling onto all fours, her face buried in her red streaked hands.

Heero watched as Hilde crumpled down to the ground, crying. He closed his eyes, and tried to clear his mind. The baby! His mind yelled at him, snapping him out of his trance. He looked down at the practically motionless Hilde, and saw blood smeared on the side of her face. She's bleeding!! His mind cried out, worried. He crouched down on one knee next to her.

"Hilde?"

She didn't look up.

"Hilde." He said, his voice firmer.

She glanced up at Heero. Blood streaked down her face, mixed with salty tears. The sight of her brought tears to his eyes.

"Hilde, don't cry, please don't cry." Heero said, wiping her pink tinted tears away with the back of his hand. Hilde stared up at him, her eyes full of hurt.

"You're bleeding..." He said. She nodded, and held her hand up. he glanced down at it, surprised to see bright red blood spilling out of the cut. Heero grabbed her other hand, and pulled her up. she leaned against him, and he supported her weight as the started to walk. She stumbled, falling onto all fours again. She winced as she landed on the pile of glass she had stacked. Pain shot through her body, tears filling her eyes once more.
Heero scooped her up in his strong arms, and carried her to the bathroom. This trauma can't be good for her. or the baby, either. He thought. He sat her down on the toilet, and the cabinet above the sink. He pulled out some bandages and rubbing alcohol.

"This could sting a little, Koibito." He told Hilde.

Hilde closed her eyes, and cleared her throat.

"It can't hurt as much as this does." She said, pressing her hand to heart. The gesture cut through Heero like a knife.

"Why does it hurt?" Heero asked her, rubbing a cotton ball along the cut on her palm.

Hilde looked up at Heero, who looked down at her. Their eyes locked, and Heero fell. He fell into Deep blue, and it surrounded him wherever he turned. It coated him warmly, a loving feeling calming his mind and soul down.

DING DONG! Heero's door bell rang out, snapping him back from... wherever he had been. startled, Heero dropped the cotton ball, and nearly knocked over the rubbing alcohol. Hilde caught the bottle, and twisted the cap back onto it.

"That's probably Duo." Hilde said.

"Hello?" Duo's voice echoed through the small apartment. Duo's head peeked around the corner.

"Hey." Heero said. "What's up?"

"Hil told me something about Relena..."

"Oh, she's in my room. Be careful."

Duo nodded, and dissapeared. Heero looked back at Hilde again. She was tending to her wounded hands, a frown creasing her usually happy face.

"Hey, I'm gonna take off, Relena is with me. Ja Ne!" Duo called out, shutting the door behind himself. When Hilde was done tending to her many cuts and scrapes, Heero scooped her up in his arms again. He carried her out into the living room, and put her down on the couch.

"I'm gonna make some coffee, do you want some?" Heero asked Hilde.

Hilde smiled, and shook her head. "Coffee is what got us into this mess in the first place! "

Heero sat down next to her on the couch. "Does that make it bad?" he asked, leaning towards her, brushing his lips against hers.

Hilde shook her head no. She pushed him onto his back, and kissed deeply.

"That makes it even better."
