[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Disclaimer: All right, let's get this straight. - I at no point will ever own Gundam Wing as it belongs to its wonderful creators and many different companies that have premiered and animated it. The only thing I own is a box of bubble gum and my warped sense of mind. And as much as I love the GW boys, I can only wish to have them at my beck-and-call.

Warnings: yaoi/shonen-ai (3x2/main, 1&2, 4&3, 5&2), ncs, angst, humor, romance; etc.

Taki-Nobori: Chapter 2- Odayaka Na

By: Liz a.k.a-Kochiyami

(First Person POV)

I can honestly say that I find no answers to my questions. That is, why in do I, out of all the people I could choose, do I choose to hang out with these… people? Just a mystery; a question to ask and one that pops up at odd and stressful times I suppose. My friends, how do I say this, are quiet narrow minded. They think, to my strained impatience, that they can do whatever the hell they want and get away with it. Moreover, the most annoying thing of all, they usually do. Not all of them are like this though. A few of my friends are honorable and loyal, no matter what. I try to stick closer to them, really. Charlie Makani, Heero Yuy and Wesley Ni. Wesley and Charlie have been my friends for almost six years now. Heero however, has been my friend since first grade. They are all good friends and I trust them very much. They are the ones who stick with me in this fickle group, and I stick with them.

The whole group (the others) decided it would be a good idea to go 'shopping'. Urgh. I hate to do that sort of thing. Nevertheless, what could I really do about it? I have to go no matter what; it's not exactly my choice…

So here I am, in this stupid mall with all my patience running on low. If you had to hear a bunch of hollow-brains talk non-stop non-sense, you would probably already be blowing the casket. I think they wanted to look at some more clothes. Feh, they already got enough as is, they do not need more! They look determined, scary. As we trek our way to the next unfortunate store, I turn to see the reactions of my real friends. Charlie looks like he's ready to die, poor soul, we're here for you! Wesley, well she looks like she'd soon join Charlie. In addition, Heero, well Heero's more like me. Not a trace of emotion on his face if you were to just look. But really, after all my years of being friends with him, I can tell past it. I'd say he's on a thin line of patience and death to all who speak of clothes again. Heh, I guess it's time to ditch the idiots.

As quickly as I could, I signaled them to awareness and point to the nearest store that's not freakin' clothes. Some game store from what I could tell. Well I did promise Cathy I'd get her that new Final Fantasy game. Anyways, as soon as they paid no attention what so ever to us, we made our move.

"I thought I was going to die! Those idiots! You'd think they didn't have any clothes from the way they always obsess over it! Feh!" Wesley said.

"Well, with them, that's basically all there is to live for." Charlie concluded. He looked just as annoyed as Wesley was. I don't blame them one bit.

"Well, since we're in here we might as well see if there's anything good, right?" I added in. It looked like this store had many good and rare games. A gold mine.

"Well, sounds good to me!" Wesley said enthusiastically said. "C'mon Heero!" And with that said, she dragged Heero off to the 'rare' section to look for some good games.

"I'm off to the Action section, you coming or not?" Charlie asked.

"No thanks," I said. "I need to get some game for Cathy. I promised." Charlie just nodded in understanding and left to his own devices. Hrm, where exactly do they put that game around here? I turned to the 'new release' corner near the right window of the story. It was taking me a long time to even find the stupid game. As I took a brief brake, I took a glance out the window to look at the passerby's. As I was just about to turn back to my uncompleted task, something caught my eye. Someone, that is. As I looked back out the window once again in search of whom I caught a glimpse of, I found myself disappointed. They were already gone. I remember these two girls walking. One, the red head, seemed to be of average height and was helping the other girl by taking some of the shopping bags to carry. The other girl was short, much shorter then the other one, and was piled up with boxes and bags from all bunch of different stores. All I could really see of the other girl was her short stature and that she had a long, extremely long braid of captivating chestnut hair. Even though I just caught a glimpse of those two, I found myself become extreme curious as to who they are. More so, exactly who is the other girl with the long hair?

(First Person POV-Duo)

Man, am I tried! Note to self: never, ever go shopping with HER.

Today's Friday, and well, Kyomi told me we had to get me some new clothes for school. I'm not one to really love shopping, but when I find my favorite patched up clothes being sent to Goodwill, I'm willing to compromise with her proposals. That lady can be extremely manipulative. I admire her warped sense of evil; it's quite lovely in an odd way. Anyways, we just finished shopping, not just for me either; she got most of the stuff we got! Kyomi thought it would be best to treat me to a nice cool shake as my reward for putting up with her. How nice of her. So we now made our way to the food court. At first, I almost fell into the pond on the first floor near the elevators but thanks to Kyomi's help, she took some of the boxes of the pile I was carrying.

"Thanks Kyomi." I thanked her with relief. "I thought I was going to kill myself with all that! I couldn't see anything with those boxes obscuring my view."

"Well, thank goodness for me, eh" I could tell she was highly amused. "You could've seriously hurt yourself like that! And I just got this stuff! Pshhhh, you and your clumsiness!"

"Me?" I snorted out. "Most of this stuff is yours!" I gestured at the bags and boxes. "Me and my clumsiness. Heh! I'm not clumsy!" I would have made my point quite clear if I didn't run into someone right then. All the boxes and bags I was carrying were knocked to the ground in a messy heap. "Crap. What the hell was that?" I moaned out as I tried to get my senses together. As I finally did, I tried to look around for the other person or thing I had run into.

"Duo? Are you alright?" I heard Kyomi say.

"I hope you did hurt yourself." I found myself turning my head sharply at the new voice. To my delight and embarrassment, I found myself looking into a pair of emerald green eyes, or to be specific, one emerald green eye. The guy was handsome. AH! When have I ever been attracted to guys!? I mentally berated myself at that slipped thought.

"Yeah," I grumbled as I tried to stack the boxes I had dropped. "I'm fine, really." It took just a minute or two to collect all the bags and boxes I had dropped with the help of Kyomi and the green-eyed guy.

This guy, what is it that's so captivating? There's something to him… I can't quite put my finger on it though. I quickly smashed these thoughts as I finally got up from the mall's floor.

"Thanks." I mumbled.

"I'm sorry. I should've been watching where I was going." The green-eyed guy said calmly.

"It's quite alright. I wasn't quite paying attention myself." I said, adding my masked-grin. "It happens."

With that said, the other boy nodded and went on with his trek through the mall. I didn't notice it before, but he had three companions with him, two Asian guys and one girl. One of the boys though, the shorter one with dark brown hair and deep blue eyes, stared at me the whole time. Well, more like glared. It felt a bit unnerving really but I wasn't one to show it. Once they were out of sight, Kyomi whistled as her and I continued on our way to the food court.

"That one was sure yummy." She chuckled at my slight blush. "What's wrong Duo? You seem… flushed." I knew she was enjoying this! Evil. She's evil.

"Cut it out Kyomi, you're too perverted even for me." I spat out. She just only laughed more.

"I could see the way you were eying him. Don't fight it kiddo. I don't really mind what you prefer. But I'd say, that guy, he could grab anyone's attention."

I didn't answer her. I was thinking too much, about what was irking me about that guy. What is it? The whole time I looked at him,… there was something, odd about him. After a few minutes of silence, it seemed like Kyomi couldn't take much of it anymore. She loved to talk a lot. She loved to talk more than I do.

"You know… I find it quite odd how he never once changed his facial expressions."

As she said this, I couldn't help but snap back into focus and stare at her in slight curiosity.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I mean… didn't you notice it? The whole time, when he bumped into you, when he talked to you, heck all that time from when you two bumped into each other to when him and his friends left, it stayed the same." She looked at me then. "It was as if he did have any other emotions to come to surface. Just calm and placid, something like an empty lake."

I found myself gaping at her. That's it! That's what was so weird…

After that, we had reached the food court and got some shakes to go. We didn't feel like talking much, she and I just made light conversation. When we got home, we had some dinner and ate our shakes just chatting about her manga works and how I liked it here so far. We went to our separate rooms to do whatever we had to do. She had to do work on her new volume in her continuing series and I just wanted to put all my new clothes away. It wasn't really late as I laid in my bed, trying to fall asleep. But I couldn't help but wonder about that green-eyed boy I ran into. Just calm, a masked calm. I couldn't stop thinking about Kyomi's words about the boy. And as I finally went to sleep, all I could see was green eyes staring down at me with dark blue haunting me in the background.

"Just calm and placid, something like an empty lake."

A/N: Well, what d'yah think? This chapter was kind-of, er, boring I think. It'll get more interesting soon! The next chapter, school starts and there is a lot more in stored for Duo. Review or Flames are welcomed, thanks for reading this story so far!
