Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Team Hostile ❯ After Lunch ( Chapter 4 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Disclaimer: Gundam Wing is owned by the people who own it, which obviously isn’t me as I would be sitting with Trowa and Quatre look-alikes feeding me grapes and cheese and fanning me with palm leaves. Since I’m sitting here typing, obviously I’m not being fed and fanned
Pairings: 1x3x4, (eventual)--2x5
Summary: It’s AC 195 and there’s a new war in the works, that of humans against mutants. The G-Boys are the mutants’ “Secret Weapons” though they don’t know it yet
Story So Far: Wufei was taken in by the Hostile Boys, Heero Trowa, Quatre, and Duo. When we last left them, Wufei had just shown Duo how well he could fight.

Later that Afternoon, they sat down to make their plans. They were crowded around the coffee table in the den, a map spread over its surface.
It was a pretty straightforward map, showing all the streets and high-traffic areas, with the Hostel and Zechs’ stronghold clearly marked.
“So we split up here,” Quatre said, pointing to an area at about midground. “Heero, you go with Duo. Wufei, you come with us.” He nodded.
“When we get -here-,” Quatre continued, pointing to an intersection near the enemy, “we will regroup, and Heero, you’ll manipulate the water, and Wufei, you’ll vaporize it. That’ll cause fog, which will hide us. When we get close enough, Duo, you’ll use your shadows to cover us the rest of the way. From there we wing it. One rule: no one gets in a situation where they’re alone. Got it?” All of them nodded.
“Now that that’s settled, who wants to play Final Fantasy?”[1] Duo asked, jumping up and bouncing on his heels. Wufei simply raised an eyebrow. He was fresh off the streets, and even before that, he was never up on the current vid games.
“Why don’t we just watch? It is a single player game, after all,” Quatre said, settling on the couch and waving the cabinet open for Duo. Wufei gratefully sat next to him, as Trowa had shifted and lay stretched across his two lovers, leaving him enough room.
As the game progressed, he found himself staring at the others, wondering how they all found each other. He was baffled by the trio next to him, not because of their relationship (loving more than one person wasn’t all that uncommon), but because of their differences.
Trowa was so quiet, but he talked when it suited him. Heero was baffling. He was so strong, but he was so gentle with all of them. And Quatre- he was a true enigma. He was so sweet, but then there were flashes of razor-blade wit, and-
‘Is something wrong, Wufei?’ Quatre asked into his mind. He jumped, shaking his head. ‘Are you sure?’ Nod. ‘Well then I think you should think quieter or go into another room. It’s obvious that you aren’t watching the game.’
Wufei stood quietly and went down to the basement, where he sat in a clear part of the floor to think. He heard a quiet rustling, and looked up to see Trowa, coming to sit with him.
“Is there anything you’d like to ask?”
“Yes. How did you all come to meet?” Trowa looked down, and when he looked up again, his eyes were shining slightly and he smiled.
“Duo and I have always been together. We might not be siblings by blood, but it feels that way. Heero and Hilde were already here, and they took us in. Quatre showed up about a month after we did. We’ve been here ever since.”
“Oh. Who’s Lioness?”
“Oh, our sister, Cathy. She works at the zoo, with the lions… she can talk to them, you see.”
“Wow. That ends my questions for now.”
“I have a question for you.”
“Ask it.”
“Why did you run?” Wufei knew what that question was really asking, and he sighed.
“I can’t answer that right now. But when I can, I will. Is that all right?”
“Of course. Now I have to go help Quatre with dinner.” He stood and left, making no more sound than when he’d entered.
Wufei stood and removed his shirt, starting his forms that he’d not been able to do for a long time. He started with the Crane Style, moving on to the Heron style. [2]
An hour later, Duo clattered down the basement stairs, startling him. He misstepped and landed hard on his knee, stifling the cry of pain from the abused appendage. He moved into a kneel, bringing his breathing down. Duo waited patiently until he was under control before speaking.
“I’m sorry to disturb you, but Quatre wanted me to tell you that dinner’s ready.”
“Thank you, and I needed the break. I’ll be up shortly.” Duo nodded and melted away, and after he was sure he was gone, Wufei rubbed his knee. It would probably be sore in the morning. He quickly got up and sped up to his new room, putting on a fresh shirt, aware that he had to get his own wardrobe and soon. Duo’s clothes were just a bit too big.
When he reached the dining room, he found himself placed between Trowa and Quatre on one side of the table, while Duo chattered at Heero on the other side. Quatre passed him the green beans, and he began to eat.
“Tomorrow, we’re going shopping,” Quatre announced. “You need new clothes.” Duo groaned.
“Quat, I’ll take him.”
“Why?”
“What’s your favorite color?” he asked Wufei.
“Black, why?” Duo nodded and stared pointedly at Quatre’s ensemble, a pink shirt and khakis.
“We’ll go to Hot Topic.” Wufei’s eyes lit up; he hadn’t been there in years.
“Oh, but Duo, you know I-”
“I need a new dress shirt,” Heero cut in. Everyone blinked at him. He shrugged. “Quatre tore my last one. I’ll go with him, and you, Trowa, go with Duo and Wufei.”
“Okay!” Quatre’s eyes sparkled; he got to go Shopping! The others sighed, and Wufei just stared. The others began to eat again, and he did too. He got to go to his favorite store in the morning.
After dinner, he and Heero had dish duty. Heero washed and he dried, each of them using their gifts lightly, making the dishes sparkle. It was a quiet affair, as Heero didn’t like to talk at all. After dinner, Wufei headed to his room, where he curled up and tried to go to sleep.
About an hour later a knock sounded on his door. He opened it to see Duo holding a set of pajamas.
“Uh, I thought you’d want something to sleep in. You can keep these.” He looked nervous, being at this door again.
“Thank you. It’s late, I’ll see you in the morning?”
“You got it Flash!” Wufei started to take his shirt off. “Oi! What the-”
“You said Flash… so I’m flashing you.” Duo laughed and shut the door. Wufei changed and got into bed, hoping that tomorrow would come.

A/N: Next Chapter! Hot Topic!!!! No flames for this, I had writer’s block in the worst way, thanks to Nita-sama for getting me out… see you later minna-sans!
[1]: Final Fantasy will exist in any timeline of Earth. That is all.
[2]: I have no idea whether or not these are real styles, I just kind of used things I’d heard in The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.
