Teardrops
Disclaimers: I own nothing. I do not own the Gundam Boys, though I'm sure I'm like every other fan girl and wish I did, and I do not own the song. “Tear Drops On My Guitar” belongs to the singer songwriter Taylor Swift and Gundam Wing belongs to more people then my poor feeble, college plagued brain can remember.
Warnings: Very A.U, Very O.C. There will be yaoi, so if you don't like it run far, far away.
Paring: Now that'll just spoil the surprise! You'll have to read and find out. ^_~
Notes: I recently heard this song and saw a totally different spin to it then the song implies and decided to turn my crazy thought into a fic! …I'm sorry in advance. I couldn't help it! I'm a poor writer of song fics so I'm going to write this based on the song itself. Obviously it's not identical to the song as none of the G-boys is named Drew, and I plan for this to be yaoi not het. Enjoy!

< Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see
That I want and I'm needing everything that we should be
I'll bet she's beautiful, that girl he talks about
And she's got everything that I have to live without
Drew talks to me, I laugh cause it's so damn funny
That I can't even see anyone when he's with me
He says he's so in love, he's finally got it right,
I wonder if he knows he's all I think about at night
[Chorus:]
He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star
He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do
Drew walks by me, can he tell that I can't breathe?
And there he goes, so perfectly,
The kind of flawless I wish I could be
She'd better hold him tight, give him all her love
Look in those beautiful eyes and know she's lucky cause
[Repeat Chorus]
So I drive home alone, as I turn out the light
I'll put his picture down and maybe
Get some sleep tonight
He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only one who's got enough of me to break my heart
He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do
He's the time taken up, but there's never enough
And he's all that I need to fall into..
Drew looks at me; I fake a smile so he won't see. >

Chapter One
**********
Franklin High was no different then any other public school. The same cliché groups and clicks all existed that existed in any other high school. Duo was one of the few who belonged in whichever group he bounced into, but often chose the more quiet company of the outcasts. There were four boys besides Duo, and each welcomed him as part of the family.
Because unlike most other students these particular five had something in common, they all five preferred their own gender when it came to romanticall dalliances.
The group was oddly mismatched. Quatre Winner, the only blond of the group, was from the richest family in Portland Main. His father was something of a billionaire and away on business very often. Heero, the smartest of the group and school was an orphan and fostered to Treize Kushrenada, a math teacher at Franklin. Heero was also a genius and only attending high school for the social aspect, was suggested by the councilors he was forced to meet with routinely. Trowa was the younger son of the vice president of Winner Industries. His family was second only to the Winner's but both families chose to send their children to public schools. Wufei was a foreign exchange student from China, and was staying in the same home as Heero and Treize, and was a Master of five types of martial arts. Duo, the fifth member of the group was orphaned like Heero and lived in the local orphanage.
Despite the differences the five became close, supporting one another's choices where other's despised them. With the exception of Duo the other four students were outcast by their peers. Though their preferences were not commonly known, the things that made them unique also exiled them. Few wished to hang out with someone who had already earned a master's degree in computer as Heero had. Many disliked being around someone who could kill them with a single blow. Quatre and Trowa were discriminated against because of the wealth they're families possessed.
With nowhere else to turn the four turned to one another and tight bonds began to form between them. Quatre and Trowa became close friends over the years their fathers worked together and that friendship grew stronger until the night Trowa stole a kiss in the middle of a movie. They had been together since then. Heero and Wufei, after meeting freshmen year became the other's best friend and confidant. They had disagreements, much like two brothers would, but their friendship prevailed over any disagreement.
It wasn't until their junior year that they met the rambunctious Duo. He immediately made himself part of the group. Quatre, excited to have someone who would carry a conversation with him, happily welcomed the longhaired boy and because he did Trowa did. Heero and Wufei gradually warmed up to him though they continuously threatened the boy's life. As friends each left for their summer activities with a promise to regroup on the first day of their senior year.

Heero and Wufei walked side by side up to the school, smiling when they saw Quatre and Trowa sitting on the front steps talking to Duo. Quatre looked up laughing at one of Duo's jokes and waved the two over, smiling as they approached. “Hi guys!”
“Hn”
“Hello.”
The curtness of the reply was ignored as ordinary from the two as the group settled in a semicircle. “How was China?” Duo asked, grinning at the two suggestively. Wufei snarled indifferently as Heero rolled his eyes. “Aw, you two didn't hook up? Did either of you get ANY this summer?”
Heero glanced over to Wufei with a secretive smirk, which Wufei returned with a heated glare. “Yuy, don't you fucking dare.” Quatre and Duo's eyes widened at the hostility and Duo whooped with glee.
“Wu-man met someone! Who was it? Tell me tell me!”
“He more then met someone. He's going steady with him.” Heero answered, shrugging. Wufei glared at him then glared the others into silence. Heero rolled his eyes and stood up, dusting off. “The rest is yours to say if you wish Wufei. I won't divulge anything else.”
Wufei continued to glare then sighed. “Thanks.”
“Come oooon! That's lame! Tell us who he is! Do we know him? Is he another China man?! Out with it you prick!” The other three watched as Wufei simply smacked Duo over the head, effectively shutting him up. Duo pouted, then turned bright eyes on Quatre and Trowa. “How was your two's summer? Go all the way yet?”
“Duo!” Quatre yelled, his cheeks turning a deep red. Trowa merely shook his head, looking off into the distance, arms crossed insecurely. Quatre briefly looked over to Trowa then took his hand supportively. “Our families vacationed together this summer, we were all stuck in the same house down in the Caribbean.”
“What happened?” Wufei asked, sensing something troubling had happened. Heero and Duo both felt the uneasiness as well and scooted closer to the couple, to make the conversation more private. Quatre opened his mouth to reply then looked down.
“Not here.” Trowa's quiet voice spoke into the silence before standing and helping Quatre to his feet. “We'll discuss it after school.” The three other boys nodded and stood as well. As a group they made their way into the building and over to their lockers.
“Duo how was your summer?” Quatre asked, smiling in an attempt to lighten the mood. “Did you meet anyone?”
“Oh yeah. He's a total hottie. I'm totally in love.” Duo laughed, winking. With a disgruntled look Quatre slugged his friend in the arm. “Ah Kat, you know my heart belongs to you baby.” Quatre rolled his eyes, bid the other's farewell then walked down the halls. An eyebrow crept up Trowa's forehead before he shook his head and followed his distraught boyfriend. Wufei chuckled and closed his own locker and walked off towards his own class.
Heero smirked a little. “You better be careful, Trowa's strong enough he'd be able to kick your scrawny ass.” Duo laughed and shut his locker, flinging his backpack over his shoulder.
“I'm not afraid of him, not to mention I'd never truly flirt with Quatre. He and Trowa are to damn cute.” Heero chuckled and nodded walking beside Duo as they made their way down the English hall. “Hey Heero? Can you keep a secret?”
“Hn.”
Duo smiled then leaned in towards the Japanese boy, whispering quietly in his ear. “I did meet someone. Just don't tell anyone else.” Duo grinned then bound off for his class. He missed the shock on his friends face and the hurt in his eyes.
**********
Heero walked in to a small building boasting the best ice cream in New England, nodding at the old man who owned the store. Coffee Cream was an ice cream coffee shop combination and the regular hang out of the boys. It was a fairly small building, a total of ten tables and five bar seats, if someone was to sit in the back corner booth they could see the whole room and anyone who entered or left.
It was in that back corner booth that Heero Found Quatre and Trowa sitting, talking together. It was also the most secluded of the tables so the five boys didn't have to worry about being heard, and the two who were dating could sneak a quick kiss occasionally.
When he took his seat the two other boys looked up and smiled happily at him. Heero's eyes roamed over both of them and he frowned inwardly at what he saw. Quatre's eyes were cloudy, his cheeks red; he'd been crying. Trowa's eye was blank, all emotion hidden, but the strain of hurt was creased in his forehead. “Where's Duo?”
“Not here yet. He was asked to help set up homecoming ideas or something along those lines. Where's Wufei?” Quatre asked, lacing his fingers with Trowa's underneath the table. Heero shrugged, looking out the window.
“He had to talk to Treize for a moment. He'll be here soon.” Heero looked back over to the other two, nailing them to the spot with his piercing eyes. “Are you both okay?” Quatre looked down as Trowa shook his head, placing a gentle kiss to the top of Quatre's head.
“We'll tell you when the other two get here.” Heero nodded and looked up as Joe, the owner, sat a coffee mug in front of him.
“Straight black, am I right Heero?” Heero nodded, mumbling a thank you. The three sat like that for the next fifteen minutes, sipping at their drinks and talking ideally of various things that happened over the summer. Wufei was the first to join them, coming into the parlor looking fairly flushed. Heero gave him a quiet look before resuming his conversation with Trowa. Duo joined the group fifteen minutes after Wufei and greeted the group happily.
Only Wufei saw the wince on Heero's face as Duo sat down with a grin.
A small amount of chitchat was exchanged before Heero pinned Quatre and Trowa with a look. “What happened over summer break?” Quatre stilled, his hand shaking as he reached for some sugar. Slowly his hand withdrew and sought his lover's. Trowa glared at the table, holding Quatre closely to his side.
“The heads of every branch of Winner Industry's and their families vacationed together this summer in the Caribbean. Including us.” Trowa said, his voice rough with anger. Duo was frowning worriedly at the two, leaning towards them over the round table.
“Everything was going fine. We even got to sneak away a few times and have some private time. It was perfect… until the manager of the West site came to our fathers with some advice. We were there, he was having a problem because his son had just `come out.'” Quatre looked up to meet his friend's eyes. “Our fathers went into a rage for him, encouraging him to abandon his own son rather then suffer the consequences of a gay son.”
“They then turned to us, boasting that they had real sons who wouldn't dare shame their family with such a fault.” Trowa spat, glaring at the table like it was his father. “And to prove it…” Quatre looked up to Trowa then nestled his head under Trowa's chin.
“We're both betrothed to be married to his two daughters. Relena is to be my wife, and Dorothy is to be Trowa's. The wedding's planned for a week after graduation.” Quatre whispered miserably. Heero was glaring at the table, fists clenched in his lap. Wufei swore viciously under his breath and Duo simply got up and hugged his friend supportively. “We don't know what to do…”
“If we admit what we are, we'll be cast out of our families. If we don't we'll be forced to marry two of the most insufferable women I have ever met.” Trowa finished for him, looking over to Heero and Wufei. “There's nothing we can do.”
“There is.” Heero said, looking over to the two. “Treize has a huge house, he inherited his entire fortune from his parents. There are seven bedrooms. There's enough for all of us, if you two would share.” Trowa and Quatre's eyes widened as the stared at the boy in front of them. “It would be fine, we discovered that Treize is alright with alternative life styles.”
Duo looked over to the other two with a raised eyebrow and grinned suggestively. “This wouldn't be about Wufei's new lover would it?” Wufei glared which caused the braided boy to laugh as he released the blond beside him. “Well, sounds like a good plan. What do you think Quat? Tro?”
Trowa looked down to Quatre and stared into his eyes for a very long time. After a silent conversation Trowa looked over to Wufei and Heero. “We thank you for the option.”
“But first we're going to try and work it out with our parents, without telling them. If worse comes to worse we'll take you up on your offer.” Heero nodded. “Thanks guys…”
“Don't mention it.” Wufei said, smiling as he sat back against the booth, he then glanced over to Duo. “Maxwell? What happened to you over the summer?”
Duo shrugged his shoulders as he pulled his milkshake over to his new seat. “Nothin' much. I helped Father Maxwell with some kid activity's, no big.”
“What about what you mentioned earlier?” Heero asked, quietly. Wufei glanced over to his friend then turned narrowed eyes to the braided boy. This was the root of Heero's earlier reaction to the boy. Duo grinned suggestively at Heero as he took a loud slurp of his desert.
“You mean the guy I mentioned? Yeah, I guess he's a pretty big highlight.” Quatre smiled, still leaning against Trowa's shoulder.
“You met someone? How exciting! What's his name?”
Duo's grin simply grew as he took another long swallow of the frozen chocolate mess. “Not tellin'. If anything serious happens then I'll introduce him. Not before.” Wufei rolled his eyes and glanced over to Heero briefly. The boy's face was emotionless, a sure sign that he was repressing what he truly felt. “Is Wuffy going to tell us who his boyfriend is?”
With a snort Wufei shook his head and stood up. “We should get going Yuy. Treize said something about having an actual sit down and discuss our day dinner. Wouldn't want to miss that.” Heero nodded and stood up. “Quatre, Trowa, if you need us call.” Both boys nodded and the two left the parlor. Heero walked slowly, his hands stuffed into his jean pockets. “Yuy…”
Heero looked up to Wufei and saw the question in his eyes. “He met someone `Fei. Before I could get to him.” Wufei sighed and wrapped an arm around his shoulders as the two started walking home.
