Treize sat back into his chair near his desk. His laptop flashed for several different people calling him. He ignored them all, not feeling like putting up with it all. The gundam pilots were sighted yesterday and destroyed the forces heading to secure their defensive line. Of course then white winged angel was not among their group. He knew that his wings were being tended to. He also receive confirmation of Lady Une and Mariameia's escape. This eased his mind a little. Finally after hours of drilling into the depths of his own mind, he decided that he should relax. Placing his helmet on, he walked out to the hanger. Tenshi stood in all its glory, towering above the other mobile suits. Treize smiled a bit. Mobile suits always represented the battle or rather the persistence of the human will. Of course battles lead to war which would lead to peace. He fought for this to learn about humans and why they fight. He also fights for the peace this time.

Drawn back from his thoughts, he boarded his gundam. All the controls were in check and this was confirmed by a coded beeping sent by Tenshi (1). He piloted the suit outside. He allowed it to float in the void of space. He closed his eyes and relaxed with his hands upon the control joysticks. His peace was interrupted as Ms. Isogumi's face appeared on his vidcom screen. She did not seem all too happy with him.

"Yes ma'am?" Treize answered.

"Commander, it has come to my attention that the gundams have mysterious been rebuilt. Now since we control the gundanium alloy supplies now, how did the pilots obtain some?" Ms. Isogumi questioned.

"There are pilots. I am sure that they had some stored away in a base," Treize replied. "There are mere pests that I can eliminate at any time I wish."

"Then, tell me... You were on a mission yesterday to recover parts... And you took the gundam pilot 01 with you for protection of the colony purposes... Then, why did he escape into his comrades' clutches?! I will tell why... You planned it from the beginning! You handed him and his gundam over to them as did you create the gundams for them!" Ms. Isogumi barked. "All along you have had this scheme to over throw me! Well your little plan is foiled. I command all units to shoot and destroy the Tenshi gundam now!"

Treize rushed to his special comlink he set up earlier and opened the line. "All units participating in Operation Take-over retreat to your battle positions! You will assemble quickly and follow me to Gundam pilots..." Treize commanded.

---At Peacecraft Shuttle---

Maya fired her gun. Heero shielded Relena with his own body at the last second. Relena looked up and could only see the crimson that now stained Heero's right shoulder. His eyes were a little wide, but other than that, his expression was unchanged. Maya frowned greatly at Heero for what she thought was a stupid action. Relena's face paled as she felt Heero's strength leaving him. His embrace grew weaker until he finally collapsed to the bed. She rushed to up to him and begged him to say anything.

"Please Heero, please... you can't die..." she said in between sobs.

Heero looked at her and managed a slight smile. He did nothing more. She wrapped the bed sheet around his shoulder, attempting to stop the blood flow. Maya grabbed Relena and threw her to the floor. Relena looked up and struggled to get back by Heero. Maya prevented her from doing so. Heero got up and kicked Maya in her back, rendering her unconscious. Heero fell onto Relena. His blood staining her clothes. She lifted his chin to looked at him. Tears filled her eyes.

"Heero..please.. don't leave me..." Relena said, a few tears escaping her.

She held him closer to her. She pressed her hand against his wound. Desperately trying to stop the blood flow. Heero's hand reached up for hers. His grip was weak and all she could was cry more over him. She prayed for that whatever forces surrounded them that the blood would stop. Her prayer was partially answered as Sally entered with a gun in her hand, hearing the commotion. Relena looked at her pleadingly, tears still falling from her face.

"Help him please...!" she almost screamed through her sobs.

Sally rushed to their side, examining Heero, and dropping the gun. She was too preoccupied with Heero to notice Maya lying on the floor. She picked Heero up and placed him on the table. Relena wearily walks around to Heero's left side. She felt drained and exhausted herself, but didn't show it. She sat by him in a chair, scared of what just happened. She laid her head gently upon his chest, making sure she didn't interfere with Sally. Clasping his hand in hers, she cried silently to herself. Mostly out of her fear for Heero's life and a little because she was frightened of the events that just occurred. Heero weakly grasped her hand in return. Sally worked on removing the bullet as quick as possible and to close off the wound to stop the bleeding.

Relena watched as Heero's hand grew paler if possible. She closed her eyes and prayed endlessly that he would pull through. Sally sighed finally finishing stitching up the wound and bandaging it. Relena looked to her, looking worse than moments before. The past few minutes had taken its toll on her already weakened body. Sally smiled slightly.

"He will be fine... but he needs blood and I don't have any type A," Sally said.

"That's my type. Let me give some of my own to him," Relena said, determined.

Sally was about to tell her, she was in no condition too. Relena's determined look stopped her for doing so. Sally looked to Heero for his approval. He, too, had seen the look in Relena's eyes and nodded his head in agreement. Relena climbed into the bed and snuggled close to him. Sally set up the transfusion device and begun the process. Programming it to allow Relena to give him about two pints of blood before it would cut off. Sally grabbed the unconscious Maya on her way out and left the pair alone. Heero looked at Relena.

"Why did... you do.. that..?" Heero asked.

"Because.. I won't let you die..." Relena answered. "I care too much for you.. for that to happen..."

"No one has said... that to me... for nine years..." Heero replied.

Relena stroked his hair and smiled sweetly at him. "Well I did..."

"Why..?" Heero questioned.

"Because you are my strength to live... When I see you... I want to live... because you give the strength... by being around.." she responded. "I just always hoped... that you would let me.. stay by your side..."

"Relena..I.. will... stay by your side..." Heero said.

Relena laid her head on his chest. Her arms holding him in a passionate embrace. She would not let go of him. Her sweet smile came across her face, enjoying her moment with her angel. She listened to his heart beating and found peace in just that. For the moment they were alive and she had him by her side. His right hand ran through a few strains of her hair. Relena looked up to him. His expression was unchanged. Yet, his eyes displayed what she thought was a hint of passion. Whatever they were displaying to her, it made him look more handsome than she already thought. She saw a small smile etched across his face for a split second. His eyes closed and he fell asleep.

"Good night, Heero..." Relena said, hearing his soft breathing.

Heero's right hand fell back against the sheets. His left arm was wrapped around Relena. His hand resting on her waist. Her fear was still there from the incident with Maya. She still had so much she wanted to ask him. For now she would allow him to rest. The room was silent except for the slight beeping of machinery and Heero's soft breaths. Relena, too, was eventually lolled to sleep as well.

--Somewhere near the Research Colony--

The gundam pilots and Zechs waited in space. They had just finished finishing off an attack force heading for Earth. The battle was easily won because of the enemy's lack of troops. They were about to head back for the shuttle when Duo's radar went off.

"Whoa! Everyone there is a huge squadron of suits coming this way!" Duo said over the comlink. "They are being chased by more squadrons!"

"What's the leading mobile suit?" Quatre asked.

"It looks like that black winged Gundam. It's leading the first group. They are being fired at by the others," Duo replied.

"Gundam pilots! I ask of your help... The forces I am leading are a rebel faction within the organization against you. We ask permission to join your campaign against Isogumi. Please..." Zeion said over the comlink.

"Why should we trust you?! You are the enemy just like them?!" Zechs yelled.

"Whoa, Zechs... Heero said that we should trust this guy," Wufei retorted.

"Yeah, and we all know that Heero knows an enemy or ally when he sees one," Duo added.

"Then, we will take them in for the time being," Trowa said. "Quatre, send them confirmation of their request."

"Unknown Gundam and troops... We, as the gundam pilots, have decided to allow you to join us..." Quatre said.

"We thank you. You shall not regret your decision," Zeion responded.

The closest oncoming squadron sped up and joined along side the gundam pilots. The forces after them were enormous in size. Already half of the rebels had been shot down. Zeion made Tenshi point to a section of the oncoming enemy forces.

"That is there weakest part, the beginner forces. They have not yet received proper training like the rest. We should attack first before the get any further," Zeion declared.

The gundams led the remaining of Zeion's troop onward to the battlefield. Almost immediately the fight started as soon as they arrived to rid themselves of the pursuing enemy troops. Of course, they knew this was going to be a fight that would nor be easily won.

---Peacecraft Shuttle (Holding Deck)---

Sally and Noin had Maya tied securely to a chair. She had not yet regained consciousness. Sally and Noin discussed several things amongst themselves, awaiting Maya to awake. Finally, Maya stirred within her bonds and looked to the two captives nearby. Sally and Noin stared at her for a second before they did anything. Pulling up two chairs they looked at Maya, harshly.

"Who are you?!" Maya demanded to know.

"Preventers.. but that is besides the point. Whoever you are, you have violated many of our laws and codes..." Noin started.

"Explain to us, why you were trying to eliminate Heero and Relena?" Sally questioned.

"You've got me all wrong... For one thing I never came to eliminate 01. I wanted to take him back with me, where he belongs.. You see we are to marry, but Ms. Peacecraft stands in my way so I sought to eliminate her in my wake. But 01 did a stupid move by protecting her from my bullet!" Maya answered, not looking all to pleased.

"I don't know who you are, but... Heero does not plan on carrying on your intentions. If he did, then, he would not have stopped you or protected Relena..." Noin commented. "What I believe is that marrying him is your own intention."

"You are all wrong! He rightfully belongs to me!" Maya quipped.

"We will be handing you over to authorities once we reach the designated colony... You will be charged on attempts of murder and accounts on inhumane torture," Sally explained.

Maya stared at them long and hard, but helpless to do anything about it. It angered her to know her target was so close by, yet, so far from her grasp. Sally and Noin left the room, locking the large steel door behind themselves. Both entered the kitchen and looked at the still uneaten breakfast for Heero and Relena. Sally sighed and picked up both trays in her hands.

"How are they?" Noin asked.

"Both are not doing so well... I'm afraid that if Heero receives another moderate injury... we'll lose him... As for Relena... if she doesn't get adequate nutrients then her fate will be the same..." Sally said, sadly.

Noin nodded sadly as well. Sally left the kitchen and walked to the back of the shuttle to the medical bay area. She tapped lightly on the door, but received no response. She let herself in and breathed a sigh of relief when she found both of them, asleep. Sally smiled and placed the trays on a table. She walked to their bedside and felt guilty to wake them up. The transfusion machine beeped, showing the process was over. Sally unhooked the machine from the pair. She felt better to see a little of Heero's color had returned. Relena did not look better, though. Sally decided it best to wake Relena first. She gently shook the sleeping girl. Relena woke up and looked at Sally confused.

"Nothing's wrong, Relena... Just that both of you need to eat breakfast..." Sally assured her.

Relena nodded, weakly. She smiled slightly seeing how close she was to her still sleeping angel. She could not help but to notice that he looked so peaceful, innocent, and so sweet in his slumber. Sally had sat them both up on extra pillows so eating would be easier for the both of them. Relena decided to take it upon herself to wake Heero. Sally shook her head, wanting him to rest as long as possible.

"Finish your meal first then... You can wake him," Sally said, leaving out of the door.

Relena looked down at her pancakes, grits, and bits of sausage. She did not feel very hungry, but to get well she needed to eat. She took the fork in her hand and began to eat. Heero moved a little in his sleep. Relena noticed this and smiled. He was dreaming. She always wondered what kind of dreams he did have. The thought was pushed back when she stared at her plate once again. Minutes passed and she finished about three fourths of it. She was proud of her own accomplishment. She glanced at Heero's plate and frowned. His meal was lighter than hers (2). He had grits, a soft roll, and bits of tender bacon. Relena took his hand in hers and brushed her fingers against it, very lightly. Her other stroked his bangs. She thought it would be the best way to wake him.

"Heero... Come on.. and wake up please..." she said, softly.

Heero opened his eyes, slowly. He let them adjust to the light in the room before opening them all the way. Relena smiled seeing his Prussian eyes look to her. She let her hand on his bangs come to rest on his cheek. His eyes darted to look at her tender hand upon his cheek. Then, he diverted his attention back to her smiling face. She motioned towards the table and he nodded, seeing the tray meant for himself.

"I understand..." Heero said.

Before Heero could get his left hand up to the fork, Relena had already done so. She smiled bringing the fork to his mouth. He looked at her weird before opening his mouth and allowing her to feed him. She giggled slightly at the face he made.

"I don't need... to be.. feed.. I can manage.. myself.." Heero commented.

"I know, but.. I want to do this... so just relax..." Relena replied.

Heero had no choice in the matter. He laid against his pillows and allowed Relena to feed him. She seemed to be enjoying this a lot. To his much surprise, he too begun to enjoy it a little himself. Although, he did not show that he did. He kept his face of indifference turned on completely. He, too, finished three fourths of his plate before he had enough. Relena set the fork back on the table and pushed it away from them. She wrapped her arms around Heero and laid her head on his chest. Heero did not know why he allowed her to do this. Normally, he would have already pushed anyone who did this to him away. But to Relena he found he could not. Unconsciously to himself, his left arm had embraced her, his hand resting on her waist. Her hand reached and took his right one in it. She had to ask him. At least if she did it would ease her mind somewhat.

"Heero..?" she started.

"Huh..?" he replied.

"Who was that woman... who shot you earlier..." Relena asked, a hint of fear in her voice.

"Don't worry about it..." he said, his right hand stroking her hand slightly.

"Please... tell me..." she persisted.

"She was.. the woman.. responsible for me.. being in this condition... She tortured me in an attempt.. to make me work for them... She also tried to make me forget all of you... so that she could have me for herself..." Heero answered. "But please.. don't worry.."

"Oh Heero, I'm so.. sorry.. all this has happened.. to you. You don't deserve it... You fought so much and went through so much pain.. to reach this point in peace... Oh Heero..." Relena said, sobbing on the torn pieces of his tank top.

The sobs she made caused his heart to hurt. Heero hid this from her. Things started to sink into his mind. She was crying over a person that once threatened to take her life away. Heero smiled to himself, she did actually care for what happened to himself. He pulled up her to where his chin rested on the top of her head. Wrapping right arm around her and ignoring the pain the movement caused himself, he cradled her. He hoped it would stop her tears. He had no idea why he was doing this to her. Her sobs slowly came to a stop and she shifted back to her original position. His pain subsided and his right arm fell back to the sheets. He fell asleep, exhausted. Relena smiled, feeling his left arm still wrapped around herself. She embraced him as tight as she could without causing him pain. She let her head use his chest as a warm pillow. She fell asleep, smiling.

----To Be Continued...

(1) - If you have noticed in an episode Deathscythe communicates to Duo through Morse's code. I will hold this true for all gundams and some mobile suits.

(2) - If you wondering why Heero's meal is lighter than hers this is why. When someone like Heero gets captured for an extended period of time, their meals usually start out light. That would prevent them from 'not being able to stomach' food.
