Note: About that little addition to the Zechs and Duo
pairing, I felt that the others could use a bit of
romance to...spice things up so to speak.
They divided themselves into groups of two - or with
Heero's case, he followed Zechs and Duo - to scout
around and get acquainted with the locals. As Duo was
walking around, explaining things to Zechs, Heero
occupied himself by watching the faeries' reaction to
Duo's presence. On the majority, the fae population
liked Duo very much. They would greet him with a
friendly wave.
An elderly faerie came up to Duo, Zechs and Heero.
Heero left them to get Treize and Quatre, and Trowa
and Wufei. Once joined up with the others, they all
head towards the willow tree. At the willow tree,
they sat down and listened to what the elderly faerie
had to say.
"Me name is Elder Clef." Elder Clef introduced.
The others introduced themselves.
"So, what brings ye down to our humble home?" Elder
Clef asked.
"I seek my origins." Duo said eloquently.
"See ye origins Boy Duo?" Elder Clef asked.
"Hai, I know of my mother, but I have yet to know of
my father. My companions suggested to ask you first."
Duo said. "Do you know of my father?"
Elder Clef asked, "Who be ye mother?"
"Lady Helen of the village South of here." Duo
replied.
Elder Clef thought for a moment, "There have been nay
young ones who hath ventured near the village ye speak
of from here. Else I would know. However, there is a
lone elder who is known as Elder Yoda due East. He
may
help ye. But be warned, his speaking skills are
worser than mine."
Duo stood and bows deeply to Elder Clef. The others
do the same.
"Domo arigatou Elder Clef. May we leave?" Duo asked.
"Certainly Boy Duo, you deserve to know your origins
completely." Elder Clef replied.
The group left the faeries' home and headed East.
Soon, they came upon a small hut.
"Hello? Elder Yoda?" Duo called out, since the others
lost the ability to speak fae.
"Hm?" a voice grunted from within the hut.
A short elder limped out to see the seven of them.
Duo bowed lowly and the others followed his every
action, not wanting to displease someone they don't
understand.
"Who ye be?" Elder Yoda asked.
Duo introduced them all.
"What ye want?" Elder Yoda asked.
"I want to know who my father is, or was. I was told
you'd be able to help." Duo said.
"Help perhaps, hai? Ye want father know. All must
know kinship. Hai?" Elder Yoda said.
"Onegai, can you help me?" Duo asked, trying to make
heads or tails of the strange speaking pattern.
"Ye ask father for. Who be mother ye?" Elder Yoda
asked.
"My mother was Lady Helen of a village Southwest of
here." Duo replied.
"Ah, what villagers say?" Elder Yoda asked, curious.
"They claim me to be a demon's child." Duo replied,
saddened.
Zechs placed an arm around Duo's shoulders
comfortingly.
"Ah, demon ye be not. Nay demon be willing to be
comforted by anyone." Elder Yoda pointed out. "And
nay demon be willing to allow love."
"Love?" Duo asked, startled.
"Hai, love. Tis of a Light emotion. Demons be of
Dark." Elder Yoda
replied. "Fear not Boy Duo, ye be not demon."
"Then what am I?" Duo asked. "Who was my father?"
"Ye be quarter human and three-quarter fae." Elder
Yoda replied, touching Duo's arm. "Ye mother be half
human and half fae. Tis why nay villager caught
interest. Twas her mother who be true fae and ye
father."
"So I am mostly fae." Duo said, awed. "Who was my
father? Is he still alive?"
"Ye father hath lived a lonely life after ye mother's
passing, hai. Thine lives still. Thine would enjoy
ye company and would happily know ye to be loved by
another." Elder Yoda replied, winking at Duo.
Duo blushed, burying his face into Zechs' chest.
"Duo? What did he say? Does he know?" Quatre asked,
curious.
"I am three-quarters fae, my mother was half fae." Duo
replied, blushing still.
Quatre hugged Duo, "That's wonderful news!"
"Boy Duo, ye father be Elder Maxwell, go South until
ye reach a calm lake." Elder Yoda instructed.
"Domo arigatou Elder Yoda." Duo said, bowing.
"Before ye leave, Ye be half water fae and a quarter
spirit fae." Elder Yoda explained.
"But spirit fae are rare!" Duo gasped.
"But that be ye, hai." Elder Yoda replied smugly.
"Go! Best journey."
The group left the elder and headed South. No matter
how much they think they have accomplished, they are
still behind. Even if they find Duo's father, what
will happen when they return to the village?
