CHAPTER SIX: BEAUTY AND THE BATHROOM
Seras sat on one of the dirty chairs, now almost completely covered in dust and dirt. She whipped the sweat from her brow and laid her head on of her folded arms, leaning into the table. She had been cleaning the kitchen with just some water, dish soap she had found under the sink, an old rag, and a roll of paper towels she had stuffed into her back pack. Her tired eyes scanned the kitchen. It wasn't all that clean but the majority of the grim had wiped off easily. She knew that the sun would be coming up in a few hours and started to wonder where she was going to sleep. She couldn't sleep on the bed and make her Master sleep on the floor, it just wouldn't feel right. And besides, she thought it wasn't very fair either. Lost in her thoughts, her eyes started to narrow, flickering every so often. Before she knew it she was asleep, the chair pulled far from the table and stretching her back out her head on her arms folded on the table.
Alucard decided to have a little fun while he went to check on Seras. He crept through the house, floating over the creaky floors. But when he came to the kitchen, his smile faded when his eyes fell on Seras' snoring form. He wanted to pick on her and she had spoiled his fun by falling asleep like that. And besides, didn't she know that the sun was coming up soon and above all that she was down right filthy. He let his feet touch the tiled floor as he headed his way over to where Seras' snoring form, which was still stretched out. He circled his prey, a large smile forming on his face as he brought his hand up and removed his sunglasses so he could get a better look at her.
Alucard nodded his head in agreement with his thoughts; his mate had to have a great body, a pretty face, and above all she had to be fun to play with. His Police Girl definitely had a great body and a pretty face, and he decided that she didn't always have to want to play in order for him to have fun with her.
Alucard's head rang with laughter at his last thought, but he didn't let the laughter pass his lips. He didn't want to wake her up, at least, not with his laughter. He walked up to one side of her, running his gloved hand up her side and waiting to see if he would get a reaction. He smiled even wider, letting his teeth show, when the only response he got was a small moan of protest. He then walked around to the other side and did the same thing, running a hand up Seras' side. But this time he did it more slowly, letting his thumb trail behind, caressing her ribcage. When he had done that, he leaned in closer to her face to see if she was still asleep. He almost laughed out loud when she shifted in her seat and started to snore again, her mouth half hanging open.
Alucard knew that he had to stop, otherwise he might lose control and that would take away all his fun. He brought his lips to her ear, sliding his tongue around its rim as he whispered
“Wake up Police Girl, it's almost sunrise.” He quickly pulled back as her eyes snapped wide open, her awakened jerk making her lose balance and making the chair slip out from under her.
Seras now sat there on the dirty floor, her lower lip stuck out as she pouted, hearing her Master's laughter fill the room. He could have just woken her up instead of scaring the daylights out of her. But then again, he did seem to enjoy scaring her so much. She gave a small groan, lifting herself off the dirty floor and quietly thanking her Master for waking her up so she wouldn't get fried when the sun rose. She dusted her hands off on her jeans, leaving streaks of dirt on them. She could still feel the sun coming up but knew that she had an hour or more before it actually rose high enough to reach the shack. She ignored her Master's silent form staring at the floor, as she went down to retrieve her bag that carried her clothes and other needs in it.
Seras quickly returned to the upper level, going from door to door, looking for a bathroom with a tub or shower in it. When she finally found it, there wasn't even a door on the hinges. Her jaw almost dropped to the floor; how could she take a bath in there if there wasn't even a door? She dropped her bag at the entrance and went back to the kitchen to ask Alucard if there was another bathroom. When she reached there, he was leaned back in the chair she had just vacated, his legs crossed and ending with his large black boots on top of the table. She stood in the doorway, hands on her hips, waiting for him to acknowledge that she was there. After a few minutes, he let his eyes fall on her form and she quickly calmed herself down, asking
“Is there more than one bathroom here?” Alucard gave her an innocent smile as he replied
“No, there is just that one. Why do you ask?” Seras answered him through her clenched teeth.
“There isn't a door. How can I clean myself up if there isn't even a door?” Alucard gave her his best innocent look as he said
“Why do you need a door?” Seras was now at her boiling point. She knew that Alucard wasn't that dense and the fact that he was acting so innocent made her wonder if he himself had taken that door off on purpose, just to piss her off.
“I want to take a bath, or even a shower will do. I mean, look at me I am filthy!” Alucard let his gaze slowly size her up, and he couldn't help but smile as she started to fidget, knowing that he had made her uncomfortable. But he was having too much fun to stop, as he said
“Police Girl, we are both adults here, and if we are going to get along we have to get used to one another being in a small cramped space.” Seras looked at her toes, hating how her Master could always make her look like a spoiled little child. She spun on her heals and headed back to the bathroom. She didn't know how but she would find someway to at least cover the doorway, since the bathroom was in the middle of the main hallway.
Seras unzipped her bag, digging through it to find something that would cover at least most of the empty doorway. She finally came up for air with a small pillow in her hands and took the pillow out, shoving it back into her bag. She then took the pillow case and started to tear it at the seams, only looking up when a pair of large boots stood in front of her. Seras followed the boots to legs and kept on going until she met her Master's amused face. She narrowed her eyes and went back to what she was doing, choosing to ignore him. When she finally had the pillow case unfolded into a larger sheet, she gave a smile of satisfaction, still ignoring Alucard's silent form that now leaned against the hallway wall.
Seras stood up, holding her old pillow case up and seeing how much it would cover. She gave a satisfied smile when only two feet still showed from the bottom. She kicked her bag inside of the bathroom, flashing a cocky smile toward Alucard as she stepped into the bathroom, turning around to tuck the shredded pillow case around the door. Luck was on her side as she found two nails, pounding them into the material with her left shoe so that the case wouldn't fall off. The only thing she could see now was Alucard's two big boots, and letting someone see her naked feet didn't bother her as much as letting someone see her naked. But she shook her head, suddenly feeling foolish. Alucard didn't even like her, since he was obviously after Integra. And with that thought in her mind, Seras went about rinsing the tub out and getting the shower ready. She had decided on a shower because sunrise was near and she didn't have much time.
Alucard had followed the sounds of fabric ripping to find Seras on the hallway floor, shredding a pillow case. He stood there for a minute, waiting for her to acknowledge him. When she ignored him, he stood his ground, leaning on the wall for support. He watched in amusement as she hung up the pillow case over the door. He had to hand it to her, he really couldn't see anything. But he let it go, thinking that there was still more fun to be had before the sun rose, and went back down to the basement.
Seras watched the water run off of her in a black stream, thinking how good it felt to finally have a hot shower. The steam clouded the bathroom, since there wasn't a shower curtain, and she almost felt like she was in her regular bathroom back at Hellsing Manor. After a while of just standing there letting the water relax her, she took a peak down at the floor, wrinkling her nose when she noticed that it was covered with dust as well. Her eyes followed the boot prints that she had left, right over to the now covered doorway. She hunched over and breathed a sigh of relief when she couldn't see Alucard's boots anywhere.
Seras started to giggle when an idea came into her head of how to clean the dirty floor. And with a nod, she turned the shower head letting the hot water wash away the dirt. She was having so much fun with deciding to clean the whole floor, that even before she stepped out of the shower she had started to giggle.
Meanwhile, down in the basement, Alucard opened the large bag at the end of the bed pulling out a few blankets as he tossed the now empty bag onto the floor. He really hadn't made a bed in years, so he just spread out a blanket on top of the mattress and put the others in a heap to use as a pillow. He lay down, his coat and boots still on, as he waited for his Police Girl to finish her shower. His mind wandered to other things but after a while he heard a weird noise. He listened more and heard it again. He sat up, swinging his feet off of the bed and listening for it again. When he heard it once more, he stood and followed the sound, stopping near the stairs. He couldn't see anything so he walked closer, his face holding a serious expression. He still didn't see anything, but when he felt something fall on his face he quickly pulled out his gun, raising his head to look at the ceiling. He felt it again hitting his face. He finally brought a hand up, wiping whatever it was off of his face as he backed away from where it fell. After he had put some distance from where he was before, he raised his hand to see what exactly had been on his face. He felt moisture and saw that his glove had wiped something wet off of his face. And whatever it was it wasn't very clean.
Alucard's head snapped up once again as he heard Seras' giggling above. He didn't know what was going on but he was going to find out right this minute. His eyes narrowed as he went up the stairs two at a time, his gun still in his hand. And before he knew it he was in front of the bathroom doorway. His boot squeaked, making him look down and see a small puddle forming at the doorway.
Alucard put his gun back into his coat, an evil smile forming on his face as he thought so Police Girl was being lazy and gave the floor a shower also. His teeth had started to poke out over his lower lip as he walked as quietly as he could, stopping just in front of the pillow case. It was barely of any use now that the steam had gotten to it, making it almost shear, but he would pretend that he couldn't see anything as he yelled
“Police Girl, I hope you are planning on mopping your mess up before you flood the basement.” He started to laugh as a gasp came from inside the bathroom, quickly followed by a nervous giggle as Seras quickly answered back.
“Uh, sorry Master, I guess I got a little carried away with cleaning the floor.” Alucard gave a short laugh as he leaned back against the wall; watching Seras through the now shear pillow case.
Seras nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard Alucard's voice coming from the doorway. She hadn't even known he was there. She quickly turned the shower head so that the water was shooting back into the tub as she tried to see the damage through the steam, giggling nervously under her breath.
Alucard had no shame being a peeping tom as he could see Seras' faint outline through the pillow case. He heard the water start to hit the tub instead of the floor, and waited to see if Seras noticed that he was still waiting outside the door. He noticed that the steam seemed to intensify her scent, making it fill the tiny hallway. He had started to strain a bit, and was willing himself to stay where he was. When he finally heard the water turn off, he was gasping for air. He quickly turned, making his boot squeak on the floor as he hurriedly walked back to the safety of the basement.
Seras had thought that her Master had left after he had scolded her for making the floor into a swimming pool; so she jumped, nearly losing her balance, as she heard a faint squeak announcing his departure down the hall. She sent a glance at the doorway, wondering what had gotten into him; lately he was acting very odd for some unknown reason. But she just shrugged her shoulders as she stepped down onto the now clean, but still wet, floor.
Seras could feel that the sun was about to rise as she hurriedly dried herself off and threw the only towel she had onto the floor, pushing it around to soak up the water covering the floor. When most of it was dry, she pulled her bag over to her, digging through it for something to sleep in. She finally pulled out a pair of loose plaid pajama pants and a large T-shirt she had from when she had trained to get into the last position she had as a human. She gave a sigh as she wrung out her hair, quickly running a comb through it. She had to make it to the basement soon before the sun rose. She noticed she was still on her period and put a proper pad on, thinking that it was wonderful she was still a woman but couldn't god have chosen an easier way to make her feel more human?
Seras shoved everything except the soppy wet towel back into her bag, shoving it to the side with a foot that now was covered with a green fuzzy slipper. She plopped the soaking wet towel into the sink and gave the bathroom a once-over before she ducked under the pillow case, not noticing how much thinner it now looked. She quickly shuffled her way down to the basement, hoping that her slippers would still be green in the morning.
