Chapter Two - The Meeting

Tears threatened to come by the time she got back to the clearing. She headed straight for her favorite rock and as soon as she got there, she fell to her knees as tears freely flowed down her cheeks in torrents. She just couldn't hold them back anymore. She felt ugly and wished she wasn't a hanyou. Why did she have to be the child to look like their father? Why couldn't Rune have been the one? Why did she have to know the rituals anyway? These thoughts and more raced through her head as she cried. Juniper was so caught up and absorbed in her tears that she never noticed the pair of right blue eyes watching her from the trees above.

*~~~~~~~~~~~Chapter Two - The Meeting ~~~~~~~~~~~*

He sat there in the tree and watched her cry. He wandered what had happened to make her cry so much and for so long. He had been watching her for a good forty-five minutes before he couldn't take it anymore. He just couldn't stand to see any female cry. So he did the only thing that he could think of, and that was to make her think of something other than what was upsetting her.

"Would you stop your bawl assing already? I was trying to take a nap!" Juniper jumped at the sound of his voice. She quickly wiped her eyes while she mentally scolded herself for letting her guard down.

"W-who are you? Show yourself!" she said as she looked cautiously around the clearing. She tried using her power to find him but she was unable to sense his presence. This scared her tremendously, since it was the first time she was unable to find anyone with her mind.

"I said show yourself!"

"I know what ya said! I ain't stupid or deaf, wench! Besides what gives you the right to boss me around?" He said with his voice coming from the trees behind her. Juniper whirled around and directed her attention to where she thought he was.

"My name is Juniper! Not wench! No show your damn self!" she stated.

He stood up in the trees for a minute debating whether or not he really should show himself. She looked harmless enough with her red, puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks.

*Why not? This could prove to be fun. * He though to himself, *Besides, she's harmless! * But he thought too soon. As soon as Juniper heard his thought, she focused on it and before he knew it, he came flying out of the trees and straight into the pond with a huge splash.

"So I am harmless, eh? Are you enjoying your swim? I would join you but I didn't bring my extra cloths." She smirked at the very wet and very pissed of wolf hanyou in the pond in front of her.

The hanyou was about two or three feet taller than herself with well-toned muscles. He was also skinny despite his muscles and had well tanned skin. He had short, messy reddish-brown hair, bright blue eyes, and brown wolf ears. He was defiantly quite the sight standing in the middle of the pond, soaking wet, with a lily pad and a frog on his head. Juniper couldn't help but laugh at the pitiful looking hanyou.

"Shut up, wench! How the hell did you do that? No hanyou is that strong or able to do something like that with out touching the person!" he said as he stormed back to the bank.

"First, my name is Juniper. Got it, Jun-i-per. Second, I will not talk to you if you keep calling me wench. And third, I have unique abilities other hanyous and youkai do not have. Now answer my questions since I so kindly answered yours!" she paused so he could process what she had said to him, but he just stood there wringing out his cloths, " Who the hell are you? What are you doing here?" And what right do you have that allows you to be so rude to me?"

He just stood there for a few minutes thinking of how he was going to answer her and if he really should answer her. He also continued to clean himself up and removed the lily pad and frog from his head before he began to speak.

"My name is Kilik." He started calmly, "I just happened to stumble onto this place and decided to take a nap since it was so peaceful. That was until you so rudely came in here with your annoying crying and blubbering!" he finished and continued to dry and clean himself off.

"Me, rude!? Well excuse me! I didn't know anyone else was here! You started making the rude comments and calling me a wench! Therefore you're the rude one here!" she screamed at him.

"I wasn't the one crying for forty-five minutes or threw someone in a pond or is too weak and has to hide behind wimpy powers!" he screamed back at her. Kilik knew he had hit a soft spot with that comment.

Juniper stood there in front of him clenching and unclenching her fists. A low growl slowly rose in her throat. She had had enough of his mouthing off to last her a lifetime and she wasn't going to take it anymore.

"You have mouthed off enough and I will not take it anymore! I am definitely a lot stronger than you are. You are just a stupid, weak loner!" she growled out knowing she had equally hit a soft spot with him. Sure enough a growl could be heard coming from him.

"Excuse me for being an orphan! And if I am so weak and your so strong, why do you have to use magic to aid you in your battles, wench!?" this comment pushed her over the edge. No one said anything about her powers and that was that.

"Enough! I don't have to take this from you!" she yelled and put her hand in front of her with her palm facing Kilik. In one quick move, she flicked her wrist, lifted him in the air and threw him against the nearest tree. Satisfied, she turned and walked out of the clearing heading back to the village.

Once she was out of the clearing, she saw Rune leaning against a tree. He had a big grin plastered across his face. He was clearly amused by what had just taken place.

"Well, I guess you showed him, eh? He will think twice before picking another fight with you. But don't you think that throwing him against that tree was…a little bit much?"

"No, he deserved it! He was bad mouthing me and was being rude to me!" she stated, practically screaming again.

"Woah! I ain't picking a fight with you. Now calm down. I just want to talk to you." He said and held his hands up as a sign of peace.

"So are you going to talk to me about the mating rituals too? Just great!" she said and threw her hands up in the air and rolled her eyes.

"Now, I didn't say that. But I do want to a little bit. It's still mom and dad's job to tell you about that. I just want to calmly talk to you about why they are telling you. Will you at least listen to what I have to say?"

"I guess so. We can talk on the way back to the village." She said still a bit disgruntled from the fight she had with Kilik. He nodded and they started back to the village.

Skylar 14: Okay…I wasn't happy with Shishiro so I changed his name to Kilik. I liked it better than Shishiro. Anyway…please review and tell me if you like the new name or not. Ja ne!
