Questions, Answers, and Hidden Secrets

Seras looked over to Integra. “But Sir Integra, will she tell us? That seems like very important information…” Integra smirked. “She might…If she feels like it.” Walter nodded. “That seems a lot like Miss Higurashi. She seems also a lot like yourself Sir Integra.” Integra nodded. “We have our differences and our similarities but we’re definitely family…” Kagome and Alucard walked over to the talking trio. “Are you guys ok ‘Tegra?” Integra nodded. “We’re fine Kagome. You sure had you’re fun with the ghouls…” Kagome’s eyes narrowed. “The bloody things won’t get the nice treatment from me next time…” Integra smirked at her tone. She was using an English accent to her voice. “Hey Kagome, I have a question…Why were your arrows glowing blue when you shot them at the ghouls? They had an effect on the ghouls and normal arrow wouldn’t…” Seras was curious and she hoped that Kagome would answer her question.

“There’s no harm in being curious…My arrows glow blue because of my miko powers.” Seras looked at her confusedly “I’ve heard that word before…can you explain it to me?” she nodded. “Miko means Shinto priestess in my native language Japanese. I have real holy powers and I can purify demons and it seems that my powers can harm vampires as well…”

She looked at her even more curiously. “So if you charge your arrows with even more power could you destroy a ghoul or a freak with one?” Kagome shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know Seras. I’d have to use a few as target practice and see what happens first…” Integra smirked at this. “You’d have fun doing that Kagome….” She nodded her head. “They’re so ugly and they remind me of the targets that I used back home…” Alucard looked over to her this time. “What exactly did you use for targets little miko? I feel that you’re not telling us something….” She glared at him and muttered “It’s none of you’re business…” He smirked slightly. “Why not tell us? Some dark secret that you don’t want us to know?” Her glare darkened. “You don’t have a right to know…” Integra studied her younger cousin carefully. “Why not Kagome? It would be interesting to know what kind of targets you used that looked as ugly as the ghouls…”

Looking up at the sky she muttered “I don’t need you in danger Tegra…” Alucard caught the last half of her sentence and asked “Why would she be in danger?” She shook her head. “No…I won’t tell you…I won’t put another one of my family in danger…not after what happened to them…” Looking back to Integra she sighed. “I don’t want you to be in danger Tegra…There’s too many people after me right now…”

“What do you mean there’s too many people after you Kagome? I want to know what’s going on now.” Integra looked at her with steeled eyes. Kagome sighed. “I guess there’s no way around it…You always had a way of getting something out of me Tegra…” Everyone looked to her now. “I guess we both had our ways of getting things out of each other Kagome. Now will you tell me what’s going on?” She sighed again. Do you want to know what happened to my family and who I think is after me as well? I still have a past that I would rather not go back into right now…It’s rather lengthy…I know that I can tell you guys about myself though…There‘s something about You three that I feel, I have this distinct feeling that I can trust you. ” She said as she stared at Alucard, Seras, and Walter. “Lengthy? What do you mean by that? Please elaborate Kagome. What happened to Aunt Kun-loon and Souta?” Integra’s icy blue eyes flashed at the thought of something happening to her family.

“Momma and Souta were kidnapped by this mysterious silver haired vampire…He sent ghouls around the shrine that I got rid of but I wasn’t able to free them from his grasp…” Her eyes hardened and her hands tightened into a fist. ‘It could be him master…he could be finally showing his face…’ Integra shifted slightly. ‘If it is that monster that has finally shown his face and has kidnapped my aunt and cousin, he won’t know what he has coming to him.’ Integra nodded slightly. “Anything else about this silver haired vampire Kagome? Did he say where he wanted to meet you?” She nodded reluctantly. “He said to find him somewhere in London. I’ll notice his aura when he finally decides to show his face…” Her voice took a dark tone to it.

“Well I know that I’ll help you and Alucard is going to as well.” Integra said as she looked toward the tall dark haired vampire. He just stared at her and nodded slightly. “This vampire, how powerful did he seem to you? How powerful was his aura miko?” Kagome glared at him. “My name is Kagome can’t all of you annoying males get that right?…He was very powerful and just by his aura I could tell that he was masking some of it as well…” Alucard smirked at her annoyed look. “I know your name but little miko suits you better.” Seras’ eyes moved from the scenery to Kagome. “Hey Kagome, you said that your past was lengthy but you said that you could tell us about yourself though…I feel that something is wrong but you don’t really want to tell us…”

Looking at Seras hesitantly, she replied “It is very lengthy if I tell you the whole thing that has to do with what’s going on now…You are half right on that Seras…” Seras cocked her head to the side. “So part of your past has something to do with your family getting kidnapped?” Kagome sighed sadly. “Unfortunately it does…It had its bad times and its happy times…” Seras looked at her with sympathy. “Will you please tell us Kagome?” She nodded slowly.

“I guess the best way to explain this is to start from the beginning. It all happened on my fifteenth birthday. I went into the well house to search for my cat Bouyou when the strangest thing happened. The well glowed purple and a youkai called Mistress Centipede pulled me through it. I managed to get away from Mistress Centipede by purifying her arms that were holding me off. Looking around, I noticed that I wasn’t in Tokyo anymore. Everything was dense forest from what I could see. Then I noticed the Goshinboku. There looked to be a boy with long silver hair and dog ears sleeping against it. He was tangled in vines. I walked up to him and reached up, rubbing his ears. I couldn’t help myself. They looked so soft. Kaede, Kikyo’s younger sister found me on the other side of the well. The villagers that came with her thought I was a kitsune in disguise but when she took a good look at me she noticed I looked a lot like her older sister. She had a hunch that I was her reincarnation. Mistress Centipede attacked the village later on that night and I led her away from it not knowing I was leading her towards the youkai I had unknowingly met that afternoon.”

“I managed to outrun her for a while but then she wrapped herself around me and was suffocating me. Throwing me against the Goshinboku where Inuyasha was pinned I noticed that his body pulsed as I tried to pull myself out of Mistress Centipede’s coils. I managed to pull myself up and I grabbed his haori to bull myself up more. Inuyasha’s golden eyes opened and he glared at Mistress Centipede “

“You pathetic excuse of a youkai what are you doing here? He said with a slight growl in his voice. She replied saying that she wanted the Shikon no Tama and she ripped the chain holding it off my neck and swallowed it. You scrawny runt! I am all powerful! she bellowed. As she transformed she swallowed the Shikon. Inuyasha looked down to me as the air was being squeezed out of me. Hey do you want to live? If you do, try and pull this arrow out. His voice didn’t sound a bit concerned, but more bloodthirsty. I looked up at him for a few seconds and gasped in pain as I was being crushed even more. Reaching up with what strength I had, I grasped the arrow and it disappeared in a shower of blue light.”

“Inuyasha was elated that he was free so he grinned and said loudly I’m free!!! He jumped from the Goshinboku and toward Mistress Centipede with his claws extended. Tearing her to pieces, I fell to the ground gasping. Kaede came up to the two and said hurriedly Get the jewel childe before she regenerates! I came up to the squirming flesh and looked for a glowing pink orb. Finding it, I picked it out of a large piece of flesh and the corpse dissolved. Inuyasha walked up to me menacingly saying Give me the jewel wench. I shook my head. No, you can’t have it. Walking even closer to me he growled at me. Kaede saw this as the perfect time to start the chant for the subjugation beads that were in her hands. The beads separated and raced towards his neck. They fastened around his neck and her looked towards Kaede with shock What is this get this off me!”

“He growled angrily as Kaede said no childe I can’t. Kaede then said Kagome childe quickly, say a word of subjugation! I didn’t know what to say but something finally clicked to me. I said SIT BOY really loudly and he fell to the ground hard. Inuyasha, you must not harm Kagome. He growled and turned his head away as he got as the spell lessened. Feh fine…I’ll protect the wench….”

“To understand why Inuyasha wanted to protect me so bad, it was because of the Shikon Jewel. A crow youkai sensed the Shikon Jewel and grabbed it from my neck when I was walking down the riverbank. It swallowed it and transformed into a ghastly looking bird. Going after a child I knew I had to stop it so Inuyasha and myself went after it. Inuyasha kept badgering me to hit it but not the jewel. I managed to hit it after the second hit with the foot attached to my arrow. The foot was searching for the jewel and that made it go straight to it. The jewel shattered all over feudal Japan and Inuyasha glared at me What in the hell did you do that for Kagome? Know we got to search for the damn shards! I could tell that he was angry, but I didn‘t care. I had saved a life.”

“I didn’t know that Inuyasha had a brother until Sesshoumaru had shown up. An ugly green toad servant named Jaken was babbling something like Lord Sesshoumaru You don’t have to lower yourself to see your lowly half brother milord. He just glared at him and said silence Jaken. That shut the little toad up. Sesshoumaru grabbed Inuyasha by the throat and grabbed something from his left eye. Seen which that cannot be seen. Protected by it’s protector. He murmured as he walked away. Jaken, the portal. Jaken nodded hurriedly. Yes milord. Dropping the staff of heads on top of the black pearl, a portal opened and Sesshoumaru and Jaken walked through.”

“Inuyasha was still on the ground with a hand to his eye when I was at the portal with one foot in and I turned around to look at him. Well? Are you coming or what? I asked him. He growled and got up. Yeah, yeah I’m coming…we jumped through the portal together and looked around in awe. We were standing on top of a huge skeleton. It had huge fangs and it’s mouth was wide open. Then I knew we were inside the skeleton and I was looking around at the inside of the ribs.”

“There was a sword encased in the stone like substance and Sesshoumaru tried to grab it but when he actually did, the thing shocked him. He growled in pain and released the Tetsusaiga. Inuyasha laughed at him. Ha ha ha Sesshoumaru. The damn thing doesn’t want you to hold it. I glared at Inuyasha’s back and said Hey why don’t you try and pull it out? If he couldn’t hit him in the ego. He nodded and said I get it I get it. Jumping down, he walked to the pedestal and grasped the sword with one hand. The black crackling lightning wasn’t as bad when he grasped it and when he tried to pull it out it only budged a little bit.”

“The two began to fight and I carefully climbed down from where I was. I wasn’t going to stay where I was because I wondered maybe If two people pulled at once…If I pulled with Inuyasha…It would come out. I came up to the pedestal when Jaken came at me with the staff of heads. Stupid human wench he said angrily as one of the heads shot flames at me. I dived to the ground and got up, grabbing a skull. I threw it at him, hitting him in the head. The toad fell, and was unconscious from the blow. I looked back to Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru and I remember gasping because Inuyasha looked really beat up. Just as Sesshoumaru was going to attack Inuyasha again, I grabbed the Tetsusaiga and it slipped free from the pedestal surprisingly. I remember holding it in my hands and looking at both of them. I was shocked and I just said Oops. I didn’t meant to. It just came out…”

“Sesshoumaru stopped and dropped Inuyasha. How is it that a mere mortal wench can pull the Tetsusaiga from our father’s tomb but the rightful heir can’t? His clawed hand glowed a sickly green and he flicked his wrist. I held the Tetsusaiga out as I saw the green poison coming towards me and I was covered in a mass of purple goo. I couldn’t believe it. I was alive. I thought I was going to die when the poison flew at me but then the Tetsusaiga started to glow faintly…The Tetsusaiga saved me and I broke free of the melted bone prison minutes later. Inuyasha looked completely shell shocked when I handed him the Tetsusaiga and Sesshoumaru looked a little pissed off that I wasn’t dead. But how…Kagome? Inuyasha asked me. I looked at him confused as well. I think the Tetsusaiga protected me. I replied. He just nodded and looked toward Sesshoumaru. Great now it’s time for some fun!”

“Sesshoumaru was transforming into his youkai form and as he finished, Inuyasha unsheathed the Tetsusaiga. What’s with this thing? It’s a piece of junk! He said as he looked at it. Uh Inuyasha?….maybe we should get out of here…there’s hardly any room to move around and If I shoot any arrows at him…I was hesitant. He just growled and rushed at his brother, ineffectually attacking him with the Tetsusaiga. The next things were a blur and the chest cavity of the skeleton filled with poisonous vapors. Inuyasha jumped up and grabbed me, coughing a lot. We got to the surface and Sesshoumaru growled at us loudly. He pushed me behind him and I couldn’t help but look to him with worry. He looked back at me when I whispered his name and He growled angrily and snapped. Shut up already and let me protect you! I was shocked but nodded. He looked down at the Tetsusaiga in awe and whispered loud enough for me to hear, the Tetsusaiga’s pulsing…Then the Tetsusaiga transformed and he grinned. Now this is what I’m talking about! He said as he rushed toward Sesshoumaru with his sword poised to attack.”

“He started by attacking Sesshoumaru’s head but that didn’t work because he was knocked down. Getting back up, he jumped at him and the sword sliced through his left leg or arm in his human form. He howled in pain and fell into the chasm, then was encased in a ball of light. He went back through the portal and wasn’t seen for a while. Myoga, Inuyasha’s retainer, called a flying skeleton dinosaur looking type of bird and Inuyasha grabbed my hand to lift me on. I got on and we were out of the portal in no time. As we stepped back on land, the pearl flew back in front of Inuyasha and sunk back into his eye. I could tell that he was glad to have things back to normal just by the look on his face…”

“We met Shippo next. His parents were killed by the thunder brothers and he tried to steal the Shikon shards from me. He didn’t manage to swipe the shards but in the end the thunder brothers were both killed because I was kidnapped…Shippo joined our small group after that….”

“Miroku the perverted monk entered the scene next. He was interested in the Shikon Jewel but didn’t want to hurt anyone when he gathered the pieces. He liked to look at girls and that annoyed everyone….He has a cursed right hand. In his right hand is the kazanna. It is a wind tunnel that will eventually suck him inside unless we destroy Naraku. Getting Miroku to join our group wasn’t an easy task at the time. Inuyasha wasn’t too keen on him joining and all Miroku-sama wanted to do was spend time with me…He finally decided to tag along after the ink painter incident…”

“Sango-chan was tricked into believing that Inuyasha was her enemy. She survived an attack on her village and was searching for revenge. She didn’t know that Naraku was controlling her and she began to fight Inuyasha. He managed to knock her out, and I ran over to her in concern. Placing my hand over the shard in her back, it purified. There’s a shard in her back Inuyasha. What happened to her? I asked him. He shrugged. Who knows…maybe she was controlled…”

“Sango-chan began to stir and opened her eyes. Where am I? She asked as she looked around from her place on Inuyasha’s back. We’re going to find that castle. There’s been rumors that there’s a jewel shard there. She sighed. Oh…That’s ok. We reached Naraku’s phantom gloomy castle and Inuyasha let us down. Naraku! I know you’re in here! Inuyasha bellowed. A black haired female youkai with red eyes stepped out. She introduced herself as Kagura.”

She paused for a breath as she looked at them. They looked to be digesting everything that she said and as she looked at Seras, she just looked to be in complete awe. “You traveled back in time?” Kagome nodded. “Yeah and that’s not even half of my story…” Integra looked even more intrigued. “What more do you have to tell?” Alucard was interested as well. “Tell me more.”

“Th ere is a hanyou named Naraku. He is a despicable character and he will do anything to turn people against each other and get power. He wants to become a full demon and he also wants the Shikon no Tama. He has tricked Inuyasha and Kikyo into believing that they betrayed each other, slaughtered Sango’s entire village, he’s controlling her little brother Kohaku, and not even the least of it, he put a curse on Miroku’s family. Naraku’s slaughtered so many people and innocent youkai families to get the jewel shards and power, It sickens me. We have half of the jewel collected already and he has about a quarter of it. He’s after me for some reason but the sick, greedy bastard won’t get his hands on me as long as I’m alive…”

Integra nodded. “This character sounds a lot like a mixture of Anderson and Enrico too much for my own good The killing of the ghouls and Enrico always tricking everyone…Preaching lies…”

The look that Seras shot towards Integra was one that was mixed with disgust and hate. “This demon needs to die. So many innocent people dying isn’t right…” Kagome nodded and sighed as she looked at Integra with hardened eyes. “Now, tell me more about Alucard and Seras. I know that there’s more to them than meets the eye…Seras doesn’t feel right to me. And I know that there’s more between you and Alucard…There’s some sort of bond there…”

Integra sighed at that. She knew that she could try and hide the fact that she was Alucard’s master, but Kagome had a way with getting her to admit things to her. It was like she was an interrogator when she was little, she was always so funny when she wanted to know things. She would get this serious look in her blue eyes that made her look ten years older and her voice turned more mature than normal.

Her blue eyes rolled slightly as she thought of Kagome interrogating her if she didn’t tell her what she wanted to know. She didn’t want to go through that again…It wasn’t like she couldn’t hold up under pressure, gods no. It was just…Kagome used tactics that an interrogator related to you shouldn’t use.

She took a puff of her cigar and then gripped it between her fingers, savoring the nicotine rush that she got from the breath of smoke. Breathing it out, she looked Kagome in the eyes. “It all started when my father died. I was just a young girl and the heir to his money, his estate. But there was another that wanted all of that as well. He tried to kill me, just to get all of my family’s money…He wanted to be rich. I was in the same room when he started to advance on me, holding a simple gun, but it was enough to kill me if fired properly.”

“The door was opened slightly, with one of his guards standing just outside it. I dashed through it, knowing that If I hesitated the slightest, I would have forfeited my life then and there. I hid in many places all over the mansion, going from one place to another when the coast was clear. I had worked my way to the very bottom of the basements, to a sealed off room that was dark and damp. The door was covered in a weird seal covered in blood. I could hear slight noises from behind it, but I had no idea what exactly was behind that heavy, large door.”

“My pursuers were just behind me unfortunately. Opening the door, three of them rushed in and their leader had the gun pointed toward me. The only way that I could get out of this predicament was to open the door behind me. Flinging the door open when the bullet grazed just barely by my arm, I jumped into the dark room. I closed the door tight, hoping that this would be the end of them for a while, that they would be tired of waiting for me to come out. I turned around, slowly, as I heard a voice that was so unfamiliar to me. A man with blood red eyes, dark silver hair that almost looked dusky grey, and was dressed in all black, was bound in a black straight jacket and was leaning against the wall. The look he shot at me…was one that was mixed of hunger, anger, and somewhat of desperation. I could tell that he wanted to get out of this prison that he was in.”

“Who are you? I found myself asking. I didn’t get my answer because the group of idiots had just then busted through the doorway. The longhaired man that was sitting beside me was completely silent as the group of flunkies chuckled happily. We’ve found you, finally. Now you’re going to be shut up permanently! Their leader said as the trigger was pulled back, ready to fire. The whole group quivers in fear as the room begins to darken, then turns pitch black. Red eyes that stared deeply at them, scared them with fright. The flunkies ran for their lives, leaving their boss behind. He had flung his gun at my feet unintentionally, and I picked it up, grabbing it and pointing it at him with hatred. All that I could think of was keeping my own life, and making sure that he didn’t try and take mine.”

“He tried to use another gun that he had on him to kill me but it was unsuccessful. I fired one round at him and it him straight in the heart. He was dead within a few minutes.”

“I was a bit shocked with my first kill but I went over to the man against the wall and talked to him again. Who are you? I repeated and he finally answered. I am Alucard. I serve the Hellsing family for all eternity. His crimson eyes stared at her with hunger as he looked at me. He asked me for my name and I answered him. My name is Integra Hellsing.”

“Alucard’s attention was focused on me now. He could smell the blood that was dripping from my arm. I had scraped it trying to escape from the flunkies and their boss. To heal it, he brought his mouth over the cut and found that he had suckled some of the blood flowing from the cut. The blood flow had stopped, and he gave me a fanged grin as I looked down and saw that he had changed drastically, just with a few drops of my blood. Alucard ‘s feature’s are now what they are today. Short pitch black hair, pale white skin, black dress pants, orange sunglasses, the black dress shirt, the red trench coat, and the red hat that he always wears.”

“T o answer your other question Kagome, Alucard and Seras are a part of the Hellsing Organization.. They work for me destroying the Super freaks and the ghouls that run amok. Seras is a fledgling, or what we would call a half vampire. She was created by Alucard so she is his fledgling. I also have many soldiers that are working with Seras and Alucard to exterminate them as well.”

Kagome nodded as she took this all in. “I get it…But why are these freaks popping up and attacking? I mean, it really doesn’t make sense…”

“It is because they were originally people, but now they were implanted with a chip that turned them into brainless, artificial vampires. They will attack anything and everything that gets in their way. Their master can be a super freak or a true vampire, it only matters if their master is stronger than them.”

“That makes a little more sense…They seem to act like the lesser youkai do when they can’t even retain a thought.” Kagome said thoughtfully.

Seras and Alucard looked at the two with wonder. ‘They both shared what each other wanted to know without having to force it out of each other? This was so unlike Sir Integra, and from what she had learned of Kagome, it was very unusual of her as well. Maybe its because they both have a common cause…getting their family back…’ Seras pondered to herself.

Alucard smirked a bit to himself. ‘Pondering does wonders, but that’s all that you can do until they act. Still, I wonder why master and her cousin shared their pasts with us.’

Walter came up to Kagome with a friendly smile. “Perhaps it is time that we go back inside Kagome? Sir Integra? We’ve been out here for a long while…” Integra nodded. “Yes. That sounds good.” She responded as she was led back, along with the group.

A lean, lithe figure appeared in the trees that had masked its presence from Alucard and Kagome for the moment. Dark blue eyes watched them leave. “Integra…Kagome….you will learn the truth soon…” the voice hissed as the figure faded into darkness again.
